I've had the pleasure of visiting The Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel Toronto on two separate occasions, both times attending networking events in their exquisite Proof Bar, and I can't help but share the wonderful experiences I've had. From the moment you walk through the front doors, you're enveloped in a magical and relaxing atmosphere that sets the tone for an enjoyable visit. The front desk staff consistently exude friendliness and warmth, making each arrival a pleasant experience. The same can be said for the staff working in the Proof Bar, where fast and efficient service is delivered with a genuine smile. The Proof Bar itself is a gem, offering not only a delightful venue for networking events but also a romantic setting for a dinner date. The ambiance is unmatched, making it a versatile spot suitable for hosting a variety of gatherings. The attention to detail and the overall aesthetic make it clear that this establishment takes pride in creating memorable moments for its patrons. While I haven't stayed at the hotel overnight, being a local resident, I can attest that the positive experiences extend beyond the bar. If the rooms are anything like the exceptional service and ambiance I've encountered, I wholeheartedly recommend giving The Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel a try. Whether you're a visitor or a local looking for a top-notch hotel and bar experience, The Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel Toronto is a standout choice. The combination of welcoming staff, a magical atmosphere, and versatile event spaces makes it a destination worth exploring. I look forward to my next visit and the opportunity to explore more of what this establishment has to offer.

Very recently stayed for few nights. Room nice and clean but without a refrigerator. I was planning to use the concierge but I received no service at all, no one is ever there to professionally help guests. The pool and the fitness room are very small. We never felt welcomed or valued. Considering how pricey they are I will not stay there again or recommend it.

Great experience overall at the Sonesta! We booked a King size bed standard room, which was super spacious, well renovated and clean. However, our window was facing the other building next to us. The view was not the best is we were facing a giant brown building. That was the only issue walking into our room but the front desk manager was absolutely lovely and was able to accomodate us with another room with a view. Its so hard to find great customer service like that nowadays. Will definitely come back, and thank you Natasha! You made our stay absolutely perfect.

Clean and recently renovated modern room & great front desk hospitality made this a wonderful stay! At check in we were given the 3rd floor and kindly asked for something higher and they were happy to accommodate. I want to come back for another stay!

From the time we checked in, the staff were friendly; as in you could tell they really enjoy their jobs and care about your overall hotel experience. Upon arrival, we chose to upgrade to the executive suite. We were beyond thrilled with the layout: a separate living space with a wet bar, a 2-piece washroom + a large primary bedroom a with a large ensuite. While we were out at dinner, the front desk dropped off a piece of chocolate cake decorated with strawberries wishing me a happy birthday. Such a wonderful surprise that elevated my stay. The location is superb with luxury shopping and renowned restaurants a short walk away. Highly recommend!!!

It was such a lovely experience and perfect location for everything I had going on during that weekend. The staff was so friendly, nice and helpful. During my meals at Proof, I had a conversation with Shlok who was amazing to talk to and made sure that the kitchen accommodated all my dietary needs and preferences. Every meal I had at the restaurant left me with a delightful smile on my face. Thomas, my server and bartender was absolutely knowledgeable as well when Shlok wasn’t around. Nancy the housekeeper was such a joy. And had a funny story almost every time I saw her. Furthermore, the gentleman who brought up my meals to the room, he was so lovely and made sure that the food was prepared to my liking. As a black woman dining and staying at the hotel alone, it’s great to feel safe, catered to and that the staff actually care for you to have a great experience and are willing to go above and beyond to ensure that. I also wanted to express my gratitude to the front desk staff who were so helpful and for help with checking out and to accommodate my belongings for the time that I had another event to attend later that evening.

This is a great hotel in a great area! My boyfriend and I stayed there last week for a few days. We’re visiting Toronto for the first time, and received the warmest welcome from Natasha! As we checked in, she was kind, personable, and engaging. To be honest, we could’ve sat there and talked to her for a lot longer. 😊 Beyond all that, she just took our picture in the lobby as we were heading out for dinner. She really looked out for us during out entire stay! I highly recommend this hotel!

Nice rooms, but terrible service at the front desk many times. Inexperienced staff. I had booked a room, and followed up through a phone call days before checking in to agree on early check in, and late check out. The front desk clerk made a note. Upon early check in, my room was not ready. Was told house keeping was still to work on cleaning the room even though a note was made. Told I would be reached via phone call when room would be ready. Fast forward to checking in, I am blamed by the staff saying my phone had a ‘busy signal’ and they were not able to call me. It’s 2023, my phone would notify me of any incoming calls. There was no call made. I am confident they did not even try to call me at all to tell me my room was ready. Upon checkout, was given no summary of charges or even a receipt sent to my email or print out. Front desk staff is incredibly flustered and tells each patron some form of excuse regarding any issue. Little things also like ice machine being broken, mini bar in room being inaccessible, and overall being blamed by front desk staff by their own actions. Many other hotels in downtown Toronto. Avoid this one.

Great posh place. Rooms are spacious, clean and upgraded. Wanted a city view, but rooms were not available. The courtyard view was nice We stayed due to surgery at a near by hospital, unfortunately they did not have hospital rates. Taniya was patient and caring in checking us in. It was comforting to know that she spoke Hindi and Punjabi, these languages were not indicated in the hotel site. She was very helpful

Beautiful hotel with lovely spacious rooms. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is delicious. Only recommendation would be to include the location of the parking lot (municipal pay for use) located around the corner on website if possible.

This is a 10-star Property in our view! One of the finest, most comfortable hotel properties one can think of. Fantastic Yorkville location, classy interior, quiet, super clean and comfortable guest rooms - all that is just a beginning: It is the staff of this beautiful property that makes us smile, feel genuinely appreciated and indeed superbly served. Our very special THANK YOU to the front desk's, wonderful Emma, always professional, always punctual, prompt, yet warm and friendly. Hospitality at its finest! We must express our gratitude to Chef Christopher Perera whose incredible, superb, tasty creations were enjoyed - just like the stay in this fine establishment - year after year after year! We are so grateful to Chef Perera for enriching our stay, and our small Anniversary Celebration, by the incredible surprise plate of beautiful, decadent "goodies" - Thank You, Thank You! Of course gesture itself is what speaks volumes, however, the quality of EVERYTHING from this Master Chef's kitchen is simply superb! In summary, from entrance Doorman, across front Desk Staff, Room Service, Incredible Lounge, Signatures Restaurant featuring gorgeous courtyard seating - everything deserves praise and - 10-star! We can only give 5:) Looking forward to our next, 2-night stay later in February! Cheers to all!

Nice hotel in an incredible location. I've stayed here a few times due to the location and comfort. Having lived in the Middle East for the majority of my adult life, I am still getting use to the fact that there is no free valet and that I'm charged $50 to have that service, even though I paid $450 for the night. Also shocked that I had to bring all of my bags in with small children and no help. Other than those 2 hiccups, it was a nice trip. Decent gym/pool and walking distance to many amazing restaurants/shops!

What a great experience right from the check-in. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating with the utmost professionalism and the hotel is beautifully appointed at all levels. My wife and I were at the hotel for 1 night celebrating my birthday and after an afternoon walking around Yorkville, we returned to the room and were surprised by a delicious piece of Cheesecake along with a beautiful Birthday Card from Taniya, Aline and Phoenix. This is a great hotel, a perfect "city" location and with staff that make you feel like you're part of the family, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better hotel experience elsewhere!

All the employees were so nice and very helpful! We enjoyed our stay there! Our fridge was dirty though. They must have forgotten to clean it. The old food from the other guests were still there.

Really lovely rooms, The beds were really soft, The room was super clean and the bathroom was practically sparkling! The receptionist was super nice giving us complimentary bottles of water and the food in their restaurant was superb! I would recommend this hotel to anyone taking a visit to Toronto! I visited this place during my Easter Break.

Disappointed that front desk said parking was $28 when it was $40. Also disappointed that the terms around a room credit was not communicated clearly upfront and ended up costing me $20. Why should a $400 per night room nickel and dime on a room credit?

I had a phenomenal experience staying at the Sonesta in Yorkville. The staff were so accommodating and a delight to speak to every-time we needed anything. They genuinely seemed like they loved what they do! Not only was the room spacious, the food was exceptional. I ordered from the in-room dining experience and I would highly recommend it. The scallops were perfectly seared and the salmon cooked just right. I will recommend this hotel to everyone that comes to stay in the near future!

Fantastic accommodation in a clean and modern hotel with a nice breakfast buffet and amazing staff!!! While I did miss specific amenities in the room, (I.e. a microwave), the location can't be beat, as the ROM is right across the street, along with U of T. You are also smack dab in between two subway lines and five minutes walking from all the shopping and dining you can ask for in Yorkville. It is perfectly situated right on Bloor, with a Shoppers next door which is perfect for any essentials you need during your trip. Next time you are in Toronto, do yourself and your loved ones a favor and stay here, you will not be disappointed!!! Bonus, if you get a room on the 8th floor on the south facing side of the hotel, you'll get fabulous views of the CN Tower!

Had a great stay at the Royal Sonesta this week. Hotel has been overhauled during the pandemic and felt fresh and new. Shout out to Ronald who has worked there for 19 years! Love it when a single awesome employee has such a positive impact on your experience. Would recommend. Hard to comment on value given the insanity of accommodation pricing these days.

Stayed for a 50th birthday celebration and confirmed with front desk three times that it would be no problem for our group to have pre dinner drinks in the Proof Bar. However, when our group of 10 arrived, the bar was closed for a private event leaving us to scramble! Unacceptable considering the entrance to the bar is 20 feet away from the front desk staff that provided assurances we could meet there. Essentially this rendered our $30 hotel credit useless. Disappointing

Stayed here for 5 nights with the whole family for a friend's wedding. Very good hotel. Amazing staff and the cleaning was prompt and respectful. Free water at the front desk. All the little things that count. Pool was great. Kid friendly.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, and very comfortable bedding. Thank you to Natasha for giving us some amazing restaurant recommendations during our stay, and to the bartender at Proof who made me one of the best Negronis I’ve ever had! I do wish the room had an accessible mini fridge and that the gym had updated equipment (one of the treadmills and the bike seemed to be on their last legs) but I would absolutely stay here again.

This boutique hotel is very conveniently if you are down for shopping on Yorkville. The rooms and amenities are high quality and clean. Service is excellent. I love they provided high quality bathrobes and slippers, this really helps in the colder days.

PET FRIENDLY for an extra 150 cad ad cleaning fee. You cannot beat the location, across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum, close to many restaurants and coffee shops. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend to take the hotel breakfast, it was very delicious and nice variety of food, as you order from a menu (it's not a buffet)

I recently had an incredibly positive experience with The Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel Toronto that I feel compelled to share. My stay at this hotel was marked by an unexpected turn of events, and it's all thanks to their incredible staff, especially housekeeper Sandra. About a month and a half ago, during my stay, I misplaced my very expensive camera. I was devastated, fearing that I might have lost it forever. Little did I know, Sandra, the diligent housekeeper, found my camera and ensured it was safely stored in the hotel's lost and found. What truly sets The Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel apart is their integrity and commitment to their guests' well-being. While I do wish they had tried to contact me about my lost item, I am immensely grateful that they took the initiative to keep it safe for over a month. Sandra's honesty and the hotel's policy of holding onto lost items for an extended period demonstrate a level of care and responsibility that is rare to find. Knowing that there are people like Sandra and establishments like The Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel in the world gives me faith in humanity. I cannot express my gratitude enough. Thank you, Sandra, and thank you, Sonesta, for your outstanding service, honesty, and commitment to your guests' satisfaction. My faith in the goodness of people has been reaffirmed, and I will wholeheartedly recommend your hotel to anyone I know.

A solid hotel in a great location. You can pop across the street to the Royal Ontario Museum, catch a concert at the Conservatory, shop, and enjoy the lively neighborhoods only a few blocks away. My wife is a fitness swimmer and she likes the pool here. It's long enough to give her a good workout.

We booked the main penthouse for our wedding weekend. Or so we thought. The lady who showed us the hotel suite booked us the wrong room. Safe to say it was a very rough surprise to the day of my rehearsal dinner. Would not recommend at all.

Really nicely furnished and decorated hotel. But the staff are really nosey and cant seem to mind their own business. They actively interfere with visitors and cause issues where none are needed.

This hotel was better than I expected. Front desk service is one of the best I've seen. They were accommodative and got us check-in to the room earlier. Room was great, modern design, clean, renovated. This hotel has a nice finess center with a pool, gym, sauna and steam room. Situated across the street from Royal Ontario museum, close to the shopping and restaurants. Parking is very expensive on site, but there are cheaper options around the neighborhood. Restaurant has good food, but is expensive, front desk provided some discount vouchers with our stay.

Clean rooms and welcome personal. They advertised misleading free breakfast but only gave $30 deductions for adults. Extra $25 charge for microwave. Anyway convenient location, quality of stay, pool, steam room, and spa makes this hotel one of the best one in the area!!!

Great location, nice and clean rooms, and good customer service. Price was decent for a Saturday night stay as well. For anyone wanting a stay overnight in downtown Toronto I recommend checking this place out. Also, the rooms are very modern which is nice. You don't get that very often in many hotels. 4/5 stars

First time stay since changeover from previous Intercontinental Hotel. Many elements of the Intercontinental remain (a good thing) but feels freshened up with some nice changes. Great location across from the ROM and a few minutes walk to Yorkville. Nice restaurant, nice lounge, well priced considering the great location. Would definitely stay here again.

Spent one night at the Sonesta and will definitely stay again! The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff and service was amazing. We checked out on a Sunday morning and the hotel kept our bags and the car for us while we went across the street to the ROM. The neighbour hood is great for bar hopping!

Make sure to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a resort. This website will compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! Stayed at the Sonesta while I was in Toronto for a conference. Located in the heart of it all, close to a beautiful park, great stores and restaurants, having the advantage of having a bar downstairs too. Bed was amazing, looking forward to the little time I could sleep every night, since we had some late nights and early mornings. Also, despite of how busy the area can be, an me always having the window open, I was able to sleep with no problem.

It’s an okay room if you don’t have any reservation problems. Our Reservations representative changed out the room from under us right as we were making the reservation leading to a frustrating process of booking another room. When we ended up arriving, it appeared that oversized parking was not actually available- even though it was told to us that we were guaranteed oversized parking on the phone. The room quality itself looks quite modern, but unfortunately isn’t very well crafted- sliding doors screech as they are closed and beds lack general support. Other rooms may be better, but it was a disappointing experience especially after having heard good things about it.

Location is great, hotel rooms are modern. Rooms aren’t sound proof whatsoever, you can hear every footstep of people walking down the hall. The wifi is extremely slow and you cannot stream/use Netflix on the TV’s, only option is to pay $30 to watch a movie.

A beautiful hotel that would have received a 5 star but for a couple of short falls. First, we booked the Executive Suite but were told it was “out of order”. We received no advanced notice and were offered no refund as we booked via Expedia. We were down graded to a junior suite and offered breakfast vouchers which we declined. We negotiated free valet for our two-night stay. The room was quite nice but shower took a long time to heat up in the morning and toilet behind door was a bit cramped. While the bell hop and valet drivers were pleasant they were apologetic as to the time it took for valet. After my shower I called down for my car, I shaved, dressed and made my way down and still waited another 10 minutes. They need some more staff in my opinion. The bar staff at Proof were very accommodating late night but man the drinks were pricey! $24 for a glass of Solid Ground cabernet, yikes that bottle is $18 at the LCBO! I might return here in the summer...We will see.

The staff who work at Royal Yorkville Sonesta are amazing. They are warm, welcoming, courteous and helpful. They work hard to deliver their guests needs in every way. From Emma and Toby front desk/managers, to Jaimie and Tom as well as all of the housekeeping and serving/kitchen staff, the hospitality the team here demonstrates is top shelf quality. You will not regret booking this hotel. The roof top pool is an added bonus. Delicious food and drink as well as numerous extremely comfortable amenities. It is directly across from the Royal Ontario Museum and steps to the high end Yorkville village. If excellence in services and quality guest care is what you’re looking for, look nice further thank the Royal Yorkville Sonesta.

The room was clean, the service was decent and the bed was comfy. But there is no mini fridge in the room and you won’t find complimentary water in your room for some reason. Those can be picked up from the front desk. If you are planning staycation I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Probably more suitable for people who don’t need to spend whole lot of time in the room.

Very decent place with friendly staff. The coziness and quietness of the hotel was the highlight of my time there. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The Signature Restuarant was also very decent place to have a dinner party. It was very spacious, excellent food and nice environment. Very happy with my experience.

I used Hotwire and stayed one night in this hotel. I love the experience and service I had. There was a housekeeping service woman who was super friendly and humorous. The room was clean and cozy at a reasonable price. The location is perfect as you can access both subway lines 1 and 2.

The lobby and everything is beautiful, until you look closer. Behind the washroom door, the paint is peeling. The shower is not clean. The bathroom vent does not work. The breakfast sucks for the price. The AC is extremely loud despite the hot blankets, but the mattresses are quite comfortable. Great looks overall and I love that they support artists by having a art product display case on every floor, but in need of some upgrades and retouching.

It is a really amazing and cozy hotel located close to everything in Downtown Toronto. The room was great, and the service was exceptional. The only downside was that the mini bar was locked because temperatures were not accurate. Would have loved to know that beforehand.

Never had the pleasure of staying in yorkville before. I was here on business and not sure what to expect for this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. I think the beds and furniture are exactly the same but I was really happy with the level of service. The only negative is the very limited loyalty program as part of a small chain.

Great customer service, it is just a text away and the response is quick. I love my room, I love my bed, I love the beddings too. Very clean, my bathroom is spotless! The location is within walking distance to very good restaurants. I love everything in this hotel.

This hotel is well located near Yorkville and Bloor where you can find high end stores, bars, cafes and restaurants. Beautiful and clean room, overall great service, a nice little pool al of this for a reasonable price. On the other hand, the wifi is not stable as you always have to re-connect. Also, the gentleman who did our check out was super rude; he picked up the phone to talk to a customer instead of saying bye/thank you. Not impressed by that but the rest of staff was incredibly kind and helpful.

This hotel is perfect for a couple. My partner and I stayed here for one night. It was super classy, extremely clean, the front desk staff member Natasha was so helpful and pleasant. It was quiet and better for people who want a good time without noise disturbances. I highly recommend this hotel

A nice week long stay here. The room was a good size with a great view of Bloor St. The lounge on the ground floor has a good vibe with a DJ on weekend/nights. The server from the lounge though wasn't the right fit for the job. He was unhappy.

I have never ever in my life had such a horrible experience!!! I am a woman with disabilities. I called 3 times before i came in the hotel to make sure they have a bath tub. They said only in the “ executive king suite “ So I paid extra for that as i cant take shower not in a bath tub. When I arrived with my husband and 6 big luggage and my service dog, i came in the suit and saw there was no bath. My husband went to talk to the manager. And he said: Oh i am sorry you want to cancel? No offering any help, said no rooms with tubs. He was horrible!!!! The worst worst hotel ever! Do not go there!!!!!

Incredible Hotel, Can't say enough about the staff, facility, and overall experience. Was in town 1 night only for the play "Hamilton" and really was treated like Royalty. 1 of us was celebrating a birthday as well, and when the staff found out, every meal was a celebration. Signatures Restaurant was top notch, and the connected hotel lounge was a perfect spot to unwind after dinner. Highly recommend.
