My rating is based on my horrible check in experience. When checking in (at night after a very long drive) the young lady behind the counter swiped my credit card and then told me to enter my pin. I explained it was a credit card, not a debit card, and did not have or need a pin. She informed me that all credit cards had pins. I further explained I was from the US (which was plainly obvious since she was also holding my id) and US credit cards didn't require a pin, that only Canadian credit cards needed pins. She insisted that she couldn't take my credit card without a pin. Then the older gentleman, with her behind the desk, piled on saying they can't take a credit card without a pin, and I wouldn't be able to check in if I couldn't provide a pin for my card. I again explained my point...US credit cards didn't have a pin. And asked if they could just run the card again. Because this back and forth had taken so long that the machine timed out from the 1st time she swiped the card. Both front desk people insisted there was nothing they could do for me. At this point I basically begged them to swiped the card a second time, the man looked annoyed and moved away from the terminal but the woman swiped it once more in a move to 'humor' me. And it worked!!! My US based card didn't need a pin after all. First off, if either agent had taken 1 second to look at the computer screen at the first swipe they would have seen a pin wasn't need (proven by the card going through the 2nd time). But they just seemed to work off a (wrong) script. Secondly, hotel front desk agents should have basic training about different credit cards! But what annoyed me even more was neither one of them apologized for being wrong or causing a huge delay in me checking in, their mistake was not acknowledged after the card went through. I go to Toronto about twice a year, and I don't think I can comfortably return to this Best Western after this incident.

THEY DON'T WASH LINENS AFTER EACH GUEST. Imagine discovering a baby pacifier in the pillow case the next morning after you've slept in the bed that you thought had clean sheets. Clearly they didn't change the linens. There is no way you wouldn't notice a baby pacifier in a clean empty pillow case as you're putting it on a pillow. So the claim that it must have gone through the washing machine doesn't cut it. This is disgusting at any time but imagine right now with everyone trying to avoid catching other people's germs. And when the front desk was told, it didn't seem like it was anything that would cause alarm. Well it did!!!

I came on New Year’s Eve for an event with a few friends. Two rooms were booked under one name, and the party began, after we left our venue later in the evening to come back to our room. The sleep was OK, but definitely was not queen-size like advertised. In the morning after breakfast, we went back to our rooms and the key fob was not working, it delayed us to get in to our room by approximately 20 minutes. After speaking with the manager, and seeing how they can assist us in our check out as now we just lost 15 minutes from room time they said there is nothing they can do, very firm with their ways did not feel any compassion nor responsibility on their part to look after errors made not by me, but by their system. Felt really annoyed, poor customer service. By the way, make sure you’re out of the breakfast room by 10 AM sharp or you will get yelled at

Nice hotel right near the 401. Our room was clean and updated. Pool was warm and fantastic for the kids. Sauna & hot tub as well. Breakfast was ok, but understandable due to covid restrictions. Coffee was actually pretty good which isn't always the case so thumbs up there đź‘Ťđź‘Ť

This hotel was located in an amazing area for us. We had 4 rooms booked, all with separate bookings (family gathering). We were the 1st to check-in and the team at the hotel was great to put us all in the same floor. They were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing with all kinds of special food choices: gluten free options, all types of milk (oat, almond, etc). Yummy pastries and warm food. It was quiet and the rooms were large. Thanks for the great service and being accommodating!

On arrival, I was advised I needed to pay a $150.00 damage deposit which would be refunded 7-10 days after I left. A pretty hefty surprise on a not inexpensive room. I heard several groups complaining about this shock during our one night stay. Although it is posted that the pool temperature is maintained at 82 degrees, it couldn't have been heated at all and was unpleasantly cold. The hot tub was broken, the handle on the sauna was falling off, there were no towels to be had- even from the front desk, and there was a scum line visible in the pool. The rooms were lovely but the glorious, slope-backed tub was too dirty to use. Not up to reputation or price point.

This hotel was very clean, the rooms were a good size. Included a fridge and microwave which was very convenient. The breakfast was tasty and varied throughout our stay, waffles were the best part. The staff when above and beyond to support us in our stay, 10/10 would recommend.

Travelled with children. The front staff were very welcoming, made for an easy going check-in/check out. The breakfast staff were amazing, even helpful with the kiddos. Lots of breakfast options, kids enjoyed the waffle maker and optional toppings. Love the Keurig machine, lots of variations for coffee/hot chocolate ect.. the pool was warm and my kids approved! Room was nice and spacious, stayed for a week and housekeeping gave no problems when we needed a mid-stay cleaning. Would definitely recommend 👍🏻

One Night Stay, Contractors were in my house earlier that day and left the place quite a mess. They were coming back the next day to finish the work and clean up. I had a free night available and decided to use it for a one-night stay. Check-in was seamless and quick, and I received a nice King room with a pull-out bed. The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. Wifi worked great and was easy to connect to. The only issue I had was with one of the reading lights. The lamp worked but the reading light on one side of the bed didn't work. The other did, so no big deal. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, with meat, eggs, oatmeal, fruits, cereals, etc. Overall a great one-night stay with no issues.

The rooms and amenities are nice. The staff is friendly. On this night, there were children running and screaming throughout the hotel from the time we checked in at 6 PM until after 10 PM. Telling parents did not help, screaming at the parents did not help, screaming at the children did not help. Complaining to the staff did not help. The staff said there was a sports tournament going on and the kids would stop screaming and running by 9 PM. While that was not ideal, it was manageable. But then it turned into 9:30. Then 10 PM. The thermostat was stuck on 25° so it was extremely hot as well This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. A quiet crack hotel would have been more tolerable.

The location of this Hotel was perfect for us. Near major local roads and highway and lots of restaurants nearby. Upon arriving reception was extremely pleasant ( sorry I did not get her name).Even though we checked in a little earlier the room was ready. Free parking was also included in our price which can be an additional charge at some Hotels This Hotel was very clean and our room was also clean and smelt good. Good A/c / heat, microwave , coffee/ tea, small refrigerator with ice maker on our floor. limited TV channels. Very clean bathroom with amenities. Breakfast was very good and plentiful with a wide variety daily. Small area but people were in and out, Check out was a breeze. Overall with price and service I would say that this is a very good Hotel for your stay. We stayed for 4 nights late September 2023. If I do visit Toronto CA again this will be my first choice. Thanks to all at the Hotel for a pleasant stay.

The service was excellent. The room was clean and well furnished. There were 2 fridges in the room, a microwave, a coffee maker and TV with multiple channels. The location was convenient as well as the amenities. This location has a sauna and swimming pool. The free continental breakfast had an appreciated assortment of food. The staff was welcoming and helpful.

Well the staff were rude as soon as we walked in the door. I don’t have a physically copy of my credit card just a picture and they told me we couldn’t stay. We drove 2.5 hours for a work conference. After they told us over and over that they didn’t accept debit cards we noticed every single person who walked in after us had problems ; 1 person was booked under someone else’s credit card and they weren’t actually there, 1 person was over charged for a security deposit and had to be shown how to add. Finally we got a manager who told us they do accept debit cards and we paid the deposit with debit only to be refunded tomorrow when we leave. HOW hard was that to do? You want customers to come back? Then start with customer service. Oh and they don’t have a hot tub like advertised :) Have a great stay !

Good place, clean, nice breakfast. I just don't give 5 stars because the breakfast room was too small. But otherwise the hotel is very good.

Pros: Night receptionist Mohammed was very accommodating and helpful, as was the 2nd day receptionist Leah. House cleaning staff that actually came to our room (Stella and Kim) were phenomenal. The breakfast staff were quite friendly and helpful. Location was close to the highway, fast-food restaurants and gas station but in a quiet area. Con: The 1st day receptionist was dismissive/borderline rude when we complained the bathroom was dirty upon our arrival (we noticed the morning after check-in, as we had arrived late the night before). There was scrum in the bathtub and the basin was grimy with a brown ring of dirt around the stopper. We were told the next day, room cleaning assignments were done for the day, despite asking before 11:00am. We ended up asking house keeping for a sponge to do it ourselves. That cleaning staff was particularly helpful in that regard; they sprayed the tub and gave us a Mr. Clean. The sponge was black by the time we were done cleaning, which makes me wonder how long the tub had gone un-scrubbed.

Don’t let the executive inn name fool you. It’s a Best Western. Still a totally fine hotel but it’s nothing fancy or special. I thought the executive inn would be nicer but it’s the same price as all best westerns so was only fooling myself. I will stay again, was great

Stayed for one night. Room was big and comfortable. Hotel is quiet and is walking distance to Keg Steakhouse and other eatery. Room was a bit cool but we did not try to adjust the temperature. I will definitely return.

I have never seen such a bad customer service. I really do not recommend going there. The employees gave us a key of a room which was already occupied. It is very hard to feel safe after this incident. Instead of finding a solution, the lady at the reception was just giving us an attitude. I was chocked about her rudeness. I will never go there again.

The first time being at the Best Western hotel chain, I was amazed by the cleanliness of the room, and the front desk staff were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast has a variety and delicious choices. I signed up for their loyalty program to receive further discounts.

Convenient location. Great price for the amenities. Hot breakfast on the weekend was good, hot, and the staff serving it were very nice and gave quick service. Pool was warm and the hot tub was great. Didn't make it into the sauna.... however, I think the pool area needs to be managed a bit more. The pool deck is very slippery when wet and people before us had left bags, garbage and wet towels on the tile. Relatively clean rooms, however room 122 have Empty beer cans and coffee mugs under the beds (not from us) and we only looked because we were searching for a table we lost. This is what made them lose a few stars and the fact that I was totally brushed off by the male front desk attendant not once, but two times. Once I had asked about a late check out and he said 12pm and then hung up the phone (I still had another question to ask) and then the night before I asked him about the breakfast(I wanted to know what's served) because I wanted to be prepared in case I had to get my son something else as he had an early game that morning. His response to me was " it's served there (and points to area) and you take a plate and bring it to your room, can I help you". The, " can I help you was him referring the gentleman behind me checking in. He did NOT answer my question fully , and decided our conversation was done.

Spacious parking. The room I had a high ceilings which give the room a nice feel. The rooms were clean and has a nice aesthetic. Breakfast is a hot breakfast with a pretty standard spread of food. The dining room is smaller than what you expect it to be.

Disappointed with this location. I had a confirmed reservation. But upon checking in they insisted to charge my credit card with a hefty security deposit, The room fridge was completely empty. There was no hotel lounge to talk about. When I asked for a beer, I have been told I should go out to a beer store 3 KM away from the hotel. At breakfast , I had flimsy plastic utensils with cartoon plates. In summary, very bad experience

The hotel is clean, but has an extreme perfume smell throughout the hallways and rooms (not the foyer). With the fans on for an hour we were able to make the room acceptable. Other poor points: the "free" breakfast was pretty terrible and as others have mentioned, the hot tub was broken. On the plus side, the rooms and public spaces were quite clean and the staff is friendly.

The room was well-maintained and clean. It was a spacious room with a clean bathroom. However, the air conditioner was blowing very cold air even though I tried to adjust the temperature. The staff on the front desk, Mr. Vajresh was very helpful and courteous. Requested for late check-out and the front desk staff offered it immediately. The hotel elevator needs maintenance service because it seems to get stuck. Another nice thing was free car parking. Note: I didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel though it was complimentary. I didn’t use the swimming pool facility so no comment on it.

The hotel staff were friendly. The room was clean. The breakfast was ok with lots of food. The pool was freezing cold and the hot tub was empty and out of order. The pool room was not even remotely heated and was cold. We got this hotel for the pool & hot tub for the kids and their lips were purple after a few short minutes in the pool. We froze sitting in the pool area watching them “swim”. The water in the shower was marginally warmer than luke warm, even at its highest setting. Trying to warm up after the cold pool wasn’t possible.

My stay there was very good. They treated me and my family very well front desk and hotel cleaners and that are very well mannered. The pool was nice the song it was nice. The only thing is the Jacuzzi wasn’t working but I understand things happen but overall, it was an amazing stay.

I have a friend who has been diagnosed with cancer and has to go to Princess Margaret Hospital. I called about a hotel close to there since my friend is coming from a very far distance. I spoke with a Best Western employee named Mario, located at the progress avenue location. This employee was exemplary. He was so kind and considerate. He went above and beyond. The best Western People are lucky to have employees like him. Thank you for your wonderful customer service.

Pictures make the hotel look super lively and clean so I’d say pictures are a bit deceiving. Upon arrival there was an odd smell in the hotel itself and there were crumbs in the bathroom room. Not a bad hotel, just expected a little more for the money. Was also really disappointed that the hot tub was closed and out of service, as this was one of the amenities that sold us on the hotel. All staff were wonderful and very friendly so this helped.

This is a disgusting hotel. Do not waste your money staying there. The room service uses so much chemicals so everything smells like chlorine. The air conditioner is so noisy, you can not change any settings and it is impossible to sleep! Do not get fooled by nice pictures.

We did not rest in this hotel. Youth hockey league was in town and it seemed as though they all stayed here. They were partying in the hallways - talking loudly, drinking and playing music all evening. They had their coolers in the hallways, like it was a tailgate party. Their children were playing hockey in the hallway as well. Hotel management had a hard time controlling their activity, particularly the night managers. They had to call the Toronto Police due to the noise explosion and unruly customers. You can tell that these adult customers had been drinking quite a bit from their behavior and their interactions with the front desk staff and other paying customers. The only staff that made our stay tolerable - day time manager : Leah and front desk staff: Keira. Kitchen staff also helped with our wonderful breakfast. Thank you ! I don’t recommend this hotel if you want to rest and sleep, especially if the youth hockey league is in town for their tournaments. This hotel seems to be their pick so stay away during this time.

We were attending a wedding in the Scarborough area and found this hotel. Great value and near our venue. Not ideal if you want to go downtown. Found the room to be of good size and quality. The breakfast was mediocre and we had few healthy options and only had plastic cups, plates and cutlery. Would like to think there was a more environmentally better option in 2023.

Tired rooms. Executive Inn???? In whose books? Nothing to write home about. It's acceptable if you have nowhere else to stay. I had to try 3 credit cards before their card reader would accept one (all 3 cards are well under their limit). Best point is that you can walk to the keg.

Really enjoyed the stay with the family. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Pool was heated. The continental breakfast selection and service was impressive. Only disappointment was the hot tub was out of service.

I required a location close to a wedding venue and found Best Western and they also supplied a breakfast. Because of the corporate name I selected Best Western. Later I found some bad reviews but the location was good. I was totally surprised how good the service was, friendly helpful staff, the room was very clean and modern. The hot breakfast was done well considering covid rules. If you are going for breakfast take the tray from your room and plan your time it gets busy. We went early so no issues. They are doing their best with covid rules. Their coffee machines that grind and brew were excellent.

Decent hotel. Friendly staff, pool is currently open and so are the fitness facilities. Served it's purpose as a quick stay for an event we were attending nearby.

Cleanliness could be improved in the bathroom. I'm not sure we got fresh linens. There were three of us in one room and, even though I requested extra towels at time of booking, they left us 2 bath towels for 2 days. And who serves hotdogs and fries for breakfast? Not only that, I got yogurt for my kid and on both days the yogurt was well past its expiration date.

Upon our arrival the customer service was great we asked for a later check in and they allowed us to stay until 12 with no extra charges. Our room was very nice, comfortable and clean! But unfortunately our positive experience ended there. We left shortly after checking in and went out for a few hours when we came back later in the night we noticed a sign that stated their would be no late check out for their current guest so I confirmed again with the front desk that we wouldnt have an issue or be charged in the morning. We went into our room to find that it was a little warmer then the thermostat was saying but since it was late in the night I adjusted it and went to bed. When we woke up the temperature in the room was 26 it was extremely hot and uncomfortable and when we told someone no one came up to fix it and then just after 11:10 anther worker knocked on our door to ask when we would be checking out. I felt extremely rushed by the staff and the fact that no one came to fix our ac really didn't sit right with us. When we checked out we told a different lady this as well and she actually sent someone up to fix it... wish we could have had that considering the really high price we paid for the room. Not impressed.

Hotel was quiet and clean. Rooms were a bit smaller than pictured, but that was our only complaint.

  • 1/5 Phil W. 2 years ago on Google
Noisy hotel guests on both sides, music, carrying on in the halls, doors slamming. Multiple complaints to desk yielded indifference. Were told at midnight that the noisy people refuse to quiet down, best the hotel could do was offer to move US! Not acceptable, noise and nonsense continues at 2:05 am. Will be demanding a refund and writing to corporate. Do NOT stay here if you expect staff to act on legitimate concerns. Absolutely disappointed.

General cleanliness was good except for a few spot details. Carpet and sofa show a few signs of stains. Bed was comfortable with clean linens. Breakfast omelet and home fries were inedible but coffee and croissant were good. Staff helpful and efficient. Conveniently located near a Keg and the 401.

My stay was disrupted by a group in the next room to mine. Loud rude and bullies. Front desk staff did little to nothing and obviously didn’t care. It took me checking out early before they took my complaint seriously. And even then they did little but ask the room to quiet down. It took more than a week for anyone to apologize for the experience. Holiday Inn next door will get my company’s business from now on

The hotel the staff and the room was excellent. They are really cooperative but there are some people on the floor which run away knocking on the door and they make weird noises they make it difficult for us to stay peaceful in our room. I complained many times but nothing is getting better. I will not recommend others a place where they cant solve problems and where people cant live in peace. I am on the second floor.

The grounds were littered with garbage, cigarette butts, alcohol containers and used underwear, outdoor garbage cans were so full garbage was seeping out if them. The one male staff member was not approachable seemed annoyed when ever we asked for something. Rooms were freezing cold , asked for extra blankets the first night and they only had 2 for 4 beds. The 2nd night we asked for towels and they gave us 2 for 6 people. Very poorly prepared for a full hotel. I will NEVER stay here again!

Pretty much what you should expect for 3 stars right next to the highway. Good value, but pretty beat up and a little dirty. Rooms clean, but dusty and banged up elsewhere. Great hotel close to the 401 ramp with plenty of parking. The breakfast is nothing particularly special, but greatly appreciated as they have fruit/yogurt to grab and go. Toiletries are avaliable at the front desk as well as laundry machines if packing light.

We went to the location in Scarborough. The hotel and rooms were aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative thing was that the toilet pressure was really bad. One special shoutout is to one of the ladies working at reception, though. I'm afraid I don't know her name but her bubbly energy and friendly demeanor were beyond the expected. She was extremely helpful whenever we needed anything, friendly whenever we came inside or went out and she even said "You look beautiful tonight!" when we came back from a party, dressed up! It just makes one feel so welcomed. Whoever you were, you were awesome! To clarify, she was a shorter asian girl with dark hair, no glasses. She was extremely sweet. Thank you for making this experience more pleasant!

Only stayed one night, and reason why I deducted one star is because we needed the pull out couch and it was very uncomfortable to sleep on. A nice foam topper would have made a huge difference. Also hot tub wasn't on, that would have been nice. Pool was great, nice and warm but the room was a bit too chilly. Room was nice and clean, service was good. Would stay again.

The customer service at this hotel was fantastic. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable (and I’m very particular). I think the hotel did a great job at accommodating guests for breakfast given the limitations imposed by COVID (good variety of breakfast items that you bring back to your room to eat). The quality of the food is at par for a complimentary breakfast at a large hotel chain. Overall this hotel met our needs and I’d be back.

Such a wonderful experience right from the start. My son was having surgery at Scarborough Hospital and we had to travel from out of town. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. Our rooms were beautiful and clean. Thank you!
