A lovely restaurant located in the heart of the charming Yorkville neighborhood, offering delightful Italian dishes accompanied by a well-curated selection of Italian wines. The food is of high quality, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere, although there are occasional lapses in service (some servers appear less content with their roles). On occasion, we encountered instances where utensils and dishes were not properly cleaned, and experienced slower service as well. An important aspect to note regarding the pasta and pizza is the presence of glyphosate, a concerning herbicide, in the wheat and other ingredients like kale and spinach. It would be beneficial for restaurants to consider shifting towards organic sources or at the very least, providing the option to do so. I'm hopeful that the management will consider implementing additional training to address these matters.

    5. Great Italian spot with consistently good food. Service is friendly and attention is paid to little things like changing plates and refilling the water. The pastas are my favourite but everything is great. The olives are served warm and they’re a great item to have with drinks while waiting (food comes out quickly though)! In terms of accessibility- washrooms are upstairs but there is lots of ground level patio seating. Atmosphere is fun, vibrant, and lovely. No reservations- first come first serve- majority of party needs to be there to get a seat!

The mushroom pasta is a definite order! Service was excellent and attentive - plates were cleared immediately after finishing. Food and drinks came out very quickly.

Really friendly staff. The risotto tasted so good, love the mushroom flavor. The pizza was thin and crispy with a hint of spicy. Would love to try the kale salad next time since every table is ordering one. Love the tiramisu! It’s not too sweet, and it’s perfect for the dessert after. Great place to go.

We sat on the patio and it was pleasantly lively, and the food was delicious. However it took a very long time was our waiter to take our order, and an even longer time for them to bring each dish out. We saw many other tables that were seated after us all get their meals first, finish and even pay as we continued to wait. We didn’t want to pester the waiter but we kindly asked twice only to be told that it was coming soon. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes to get the appetizer, then another 45 to get our entrees. This was after waiting nearly 30 minutes for someone to take our order. I was ready to cancel and leave after the appetizer but they kept saying it was coming soon. It was frustrating nonetheless. The food was amazing but I’m not sure why we received such bad service. The waiter clearly knew how long he had kept us too.

My boyfriend and I love Trattoria Nervosa. We first discovered it last summer and went back in the winter. The food is just as good as we remembered — if not better! I got a Njuda Pizza which came with honey, peppers, and ground sausage. I don’t typically eat pork, or meat for that matter, but this was definitely worth it. My boyfriend got the Funghi Pasta which I preferred out of the both of our dishes. It was creamy, robust, flavourful and perfectly cooked. And our drinks went perfectly with our meals. We tried the B.A.D. Boy and Must Be Nice (This drink was the best). I had to return the original drink I ordered which was Islington because it just didn’t suit my palette. It’s a small space and was a bit louder than expected but the service was fairly quick and the woman serving us was very helpful. I just wish they would bring back the Pantheon cocktail. It’s the BEST drink I’ve ever had in my life!

One of my favourite Italian spots in Toronto. Consistently good quality. I always go back for the polipo and the risotto but decided to try something new today and didn't regret it. Had the branzino and it was amazing! Beautiful selection of g&t cocktails too.

Absolutely amazing experience!! From the service, vibe and especially the food. We were a party of 3 got sat right away on the roof top (it was a Monday so not too too busy) ordered quit a few different items off the menu and we shared everything. Our server was very attentive and gave us lots of great recommendations. The grilled octopus was honestly one of my favourite things I’ve gotten at a restaurant to date. We had pasta, fish and pizza as well as some apps and desserts. Nothing disappointed!

A fantastic place for after work hangout with friends! The grilled octopus is creative and tasty, so is the risotto (and not too salty). The service is great and fortunately the wait isn’t long either. This will definitely become one of my go-to restaurants!

Delicious Italian food in a nice setting. Very intimate restaurant that feels like you went to eat at someone's house. Reasonable price for the area and decent portion sizes.

My favourite place for girls night or a nice dinner all by myself. I’ve been coming here for years and the experience has always been great. Service is friendly, ambiance is intimate and food is awesome! The patio is great for summer evenings. I ordered my favourite mushroom pasta. The pasta is perfectly al dente. The sauce is creamy and rich but not overwhelming. The mushrooms are *chefs kiss*. My friend ordered a margherita pizza. It’s the perfect thin crust, fresh, classic pizza. Lovely tomato sauce with the perfect amount of cheese and basil. I love the risotto and kale salad too. Must try. Beautiful wine and G&T selection as well.

The Regina Margherita pizza is AMAZING. I've never tasted such a sweet tomato sauce!! It's my go-to every time I come to Nervosa - great for one person or to share with friends! The pasta was fresh and had a great bounce to every bite.

The food was absolutely amazing! The only downside to coming was when I came in with my friend, we got our food extremely late. When we arrived, there were 2 couples that were seated, then us. Not long after, the entire floor was packed with customers. It was very obvious to us that we had ordered our food before most of the people inside. It seemed to be that we were the last people to get our food as it did take 45-50 minutes for ur food to arrive. A big table that was right next to us came after we arrived, ordered after us, got their food, and finished their food before we got ours.

Went there today, the food was delicious and the service was excellent, they sat us in 5 min which was incredible! Especially on a Saturday, I thought we would wait at least half an hour, everything was fresh and tasty, a bit pricy though. The patio was beautiful and the whole atmosphere was lovely, would go again and I recommend it. Well done 😊

We had beef carpaccio for appetizer, I think they forgot to squeeze lemon on top, missing the acidic taste on this dish. We also had kale salad, the dressing is really good, I would recommend this one. I had prosciutto pizza and my partner had pasta. Pasta was undercooked, he was a bit disappointed. The whole experience was nice for a date, but food wasn’t that impressive.

Food and customer service was really good and and authentic Italian . Our server was great and was very Italian .he was able to assist me with my vegetarian meal and was very specific about the allergies . Mozzarella cheese was very delicious and eggplant spaghetti had perfect amount of spice in it.

Went here on a Sunday around 2pm, waited about 15 mins for a table. My boyfriend and I ordered the mushroom truffle pasta, and it was worth. Nice plating, very creamy and fresh. We got the bruschetta as an appetizer and was surprised to find anchovies on it haha, it tasted great nonetheless! I like tarty drinks so I asked the server which she’d recommend, she recommended an off the menu drink called Mi Luv, it was so good I ordered it twice!! We wanted to get tiramisu as dessert but they sold out unfortunately! Atmosphere is great, we ended up getting a table upstairs which is more brighter, but next time I’m going to ask for a table downstairs as it felt more cozy and intimate.

Not bad but not great. Cacio e Pepe was way overseasoned and didn't have enough cheese. Capellini was overcooked. Bruno was a great server, very polite but we waited a good 20 minutes between when we finished our pastas to when we got our pizza (which takes ~90s to cook in a wood wired oven).

Had the most wonderful server named David, who provided us free desert (no special occasion or anything), all the food was 5 star quality but so reasonably priced, in such a homey and cozy atmosphere. Will be making this a regular place!

Most of the food items were done pretty well, from our visit the lasagna was definitely the best item. Their tiramisu was a bit of a let down, too much cream to lady finger ratio, and not enough liquor and coffee flavours, the excess use of the powder on top was a bit much. The service and atmosphere was really enjoyable, especially their rooftop patio. I give them 8/10!

Delicious delicious delicious! Must try their truffle pasta! The female server was very kind and sweet. One thing to note is that the tables are stacked pretty close to one another, and it could get very lively and loud.

The truffle pasta is a must try. I come here every few months just for the truffle pasta. The other pastas are good too but if you like mushroom, just get the truffle one. The pizza, bread, and bruschetta are also delicious. The atmosphere and service is great. I highly recommend coming before 6pm to avoid waiting. If you do have to wait, you’re usually seated in 15-30 minutes.

The food in overall was good, I had been to some authentic Italian restaurants in past and based on that experience it did looked and tasted authentic. Overall it might feel bit pricy but for the ambiance, food and friendly servers I believe its worth it. 1 star deduction for long wait list and no reservations so people be there in ahead of plan.

Good Italian style restaurant, with a nice outdoor patio, and large selection of drinks. It’s a great place for a date. The food is good, but not exceptional. The area around the restaurant is nice to take a walk after.

Food was ok. Not memorable, not outstanding. I found it too expensive for just ok food. Service was good and the upstairs dining was nice. The patio is cute in summer for people watching, but not worth a return visit in the colder months.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Trattoria Nervosa and I must say, it was an experience to remember. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. As I brought along a friend visiting from the UK, staying at the nearby W Hotel, the location was incredibly convenient, just a few minutes' walk away. The food surpassed all expectations; each dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. From the appetizers to the main course, every bite was a delight to the taste buds. However, what truly set this dining experience apart was the impeccable service. Despite staying for nearly two hours, we never felt rushed. The staff was attentive, accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their genuine care and hospitality made us feel truly valued as guests. Overall, our time was nothing short of exceptional. Thank you to the entire team for making my guest feel welcomed and for creating such a memorable experience. If you're looking for delicious food, impeccable service, and a warm atmosphere, look no further than Trattoria Nervosa. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Toronto!

On a bitterly cold night, my mom, my wife, and I decided to give this restaurant a try. While the pizza was enjoyable and the lasagna decent, overall, I don't think I'd revisit. We also ordered the Mafalde with truffle, but unfortunately, it had a bitter taste. When we inquired, the waiter assured us it was normal, which was a bit surprising. 😅

The place it’s cozy, small, cute. Very well located in an area that feels like you are on vacation in Europe. The staff is friendly. The food is delicious! I’ve tried the Cacio & Pepe, Lasagna, and other pastas that I forgot the name. Tried the chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream, the tiramisu… Everything is delicious! Mouthwatering just by writing this. I will be always coming back and recommending this place to everyone I know!

Great food in an casual ambiance! The pasta and bread are delicious. Drinks are great and service very good. Tables are very close together which I never enjoy but it’s the price of dining in big cities. It’s an lovely part of Toronto.

The best pasta I’ve ever eaten! The service is great and the wine, my goodness, it’s heaven! They brought me a bread that they make in the house and it’s incredible. I kept thinking how could I prepare something at home like that. For dessert home made gelato and espresso ❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 I recommend :)

Trattoria Nervosa is definitely one of the best Italian places in Toronto. If you are a kale fan as I am, please be sure to ask for the Insalata di Cavoro Nero.

Went with my family (4 people) for lunch. Hostess was very friendly and opened the door for us and promptly sat us. It was pretty busy, our server was quick, very friendly. The octopus as an appetizer was absolutely delicious and the plating was beautiful. Happy with our experience, lots to choose from on the menu. Will be back again.

Incredible service by Bobby, his reccomendations were on point. Everything we tried was amazing. The octopus lived up to all the rave reviews and still blew mt expectations away. The prime rib risotto was a huge highlight for me, and so were the XL gin drinks 🤩 they are super delicious, refreshing and dangerous! Hahha. I waited 5 years to try them out and I am so glad I finally did.

Excellent food & service. I loved how Chris the GM made accommodations for my mother based on her age & limitations. The wine, the risotto , the pizza tasted like I’m sitting in Milan or Venice & enjoy authentic Italian food. The hospitality & food quality was superb. Thank You for making our lunch at Yorkville memorable.

Everything was okay. Not great, not terrible, just ok. We started with the meatballs which were tender and cooked perfect but need a touch of spice, some heat or something. Flavor was a bit bland. The sauce that came with it was good. We then split the mushroom pizza which was disappointing. The mushrooms were cut too large, or not cut at all and tough to eat. The crust was also undercooked. While the flavors were better, the soggy crust was a bummer. The service was, again.....okay. No feeling of attentiveness. We also placed an order to go for our kids when we placed the appetizer and did not receive it for another 20-30 min after we had finished and closed out the check. We were hoping it would be ready when we finished, so that we could leave. We ordered the lasagna and kale salad (not pictured). They were also, okay. If you sit outside, there is a wasp problem. They ask before seating if that will bother you, we were fine with it, but it is a bigger issue then they let on. I won't sit outside again.

Absolutely delicious! Very authentic and the restaurant is gorgeous. I work right down the street and this is a perfect spot to have lunch or dinner. The fungi pasta was by far one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had.

I love the food experience here. I was here for a work team party and the wait time per food dish was a while but we were a big group. The octopus was ok since it was too grill flavoured for me. The lasagna was so cheesy and yummy!! The portion was HUGE so I couldn’t finish it but they do let you pack leftovers. Finally, the tiramisu is AMAZING!! The perimeter was the best part. The core was a bit too strong for me, but overall a great taste!!! I also love how small and cozy this atmosphere was.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and definitely was worth the wait. Food was delicious, I had the mushroom pasta and my partner had a pizza. Ended with hazelnut gelato which was hands down the best gelato I’ve ever had (and I go to Italy every other year so I’ve tried the good stuff). Our server, Angelo, was wonderful. Can not wait to be back!

The service was fantastic, super personable and funny staff. The food was SO GOOD 👍🏼 We had the Buratta, Old Street & Sundance (drinks), and two pasta dishes that just warm the soul 💓. It was well portioned so you are fully satisfied without feeling sick like some pasta places.. The atmosphere was cozy home vibes but we noticed as it got busier that it gets pretty loud and a little cramped but we were out before it got too bad so that's why I will keep my star rating as it was for me.

  • 5/5 Lycheechee . 1 year ago on Google
The Mafalde ai Funghi was amazing! The cream sauce with four different types of mushroom is the best. Even you don’t like mushrooms you will still fall in love with this dish!! Risotto is also a must order! The 3rd floor patio is open and worth the waiting! They only take walk in. So make sure you come early to get on the stunning patio!

  • 4/5 Emerald L. 1 year ago on Google
Wonderful and tasty food here at Trattoria Nervosa. We sat on the rooftop patio and while that day was a bit hot, the atmosphere was really nice. Staff were friendly and we were served in a timely manner. We shared a pizza, kale salad, mushroom pasta and risotto. The buffalo cheese on the pizza could have been more flavourful but all in all a very good experience.

  • 5/5 Rosalind H. 8 months ago on Google
Everything was so delicious! And the service is superb. I accidentally ordered the wrong dish, and the waiter was so kind and got the one I had initially meant to order. Highly recommend the rigatoni, and the mushroom dish is delicious as well.

  • 5/5 H J. 8 months ago on Google
Came here for the famous truffle pasta. It is indeed very flavorful but I think the noodles are a bit too al dente. The margarita pizza is on point but somehow the dough is quite dry. The space upstairs is really crowded that you need to be extra careful not to bump into other’s tables when passing by. Overall it is good flavor but if you came here with high expectations like me, you might be disappointed.

  • 5/5 Sophia Z. 8 months ago on Google
Came here after strolling around the neighborhood when deciding for dinner. So glad we came here. The food was absolutely amazing! The pasta was my favourite, I loved how saucy and creamy it was, the flavours were impeccable. The pizza was amazing too but I would recommend the pasta over that! Dessert was absolutely delicious! The pistachio gelato paired with the fudge like chocolate cake as well as the hazelnut crumble… to die for! You will not be disappointed with the food here. Only thing is, which I have seen with other reviewers is that it does get quite loud and it was difficult to hear my date across from me. We were seated at the patio and the wind was strong and the leaves on the plants kept hitting my face, which wasn’t that pleasant. Staff wasn’t that personable but they were busy so I’ll give them a pass. If you’re looking for amazing food and like to not be bothered by staff often, this is a place for you!

This place is a gem!! We ordered pasta, pizza and olives 🤤 The food is chef’s kiss so delicious!!! Especially the Mafalde Al Funghi!! Yummm! It melts in your mouth and still dreaming of it. I recommend trying the Mafalde Al Funghi to everyone 💯

It was a nice restaurant with nice atmosphere. Not a big place but I like the interior settings inside. My friend love their risotto, and the Nduja Pizza is also very tasty with sweet and sour taste. Also, Marc is very nice :). I've been told the service is usually just so so, but he is friendly and been nice all the time~

Risotto is a must order! I like their beef, it is soft with a little charcoal flavour on the surface. The pasta is freshly made, the creamy sauce is nice. The octopus is also tasty and very tender.

We had been here for lunch. Got a couple of G&Ts and funghi pasta! Highly recommend these, they were awesome. Server was great to talk and ask recommendations. Also got the focaccia bread but that was so so compared to the rest. Will definitely go back soon.
