Came in with a group of 12 with no reservations, and was seated as soon as space cleared up (maybe about 5 minutes). The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Everyone was pleased with their food. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was moist and tender, the waffles had jalapenos and bacon in it and served as an excellent base. Special shout out to our server Shaun who was an absolute pleasure.

I finally found a good solid restaurant that's open 24 hours, 7 days a week - big reason for 5 stars! The Thompson Diner is at the main floor of the Thompson Hotel. It's diner food kicked up a few notches! They have a variety of dishes from Matzo soup, Nachos, Omletes, Meatloaf, Veggie Burger, etc. We had the Pastrami Reuben with a side salad and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffles. 👍😊 Although we were there late on a Monday night, there were at least 4 other tables that were occupied. 😊 Other offerings we are looking forward to trying next time are: VOTED Toronto’s #1 Poutine: Peking duck, crispy duck skin, black sesame seeds, green onions & hoisin duck gravy Double Mac & Cheese with Truffle Oil: their signature dish with asiago & mozzarella cheese.you can also add goat cheese or bacon. The Grilled Cheese Burger: Two grilled cheese sandwiches surrounding a sirloin burger, maple smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato & chipotle mayo

Came over to the diner to check out the breakfast as we've tried dinner here and it was fantastic. There was a bit of a wait on a Sunday morning. We had waited 15 minutes till we were seated. I ended up ordering the chocolate chip pancakes. When they came they were pretty large and looked great! There were plenty of condiments and a generous amount of syrup. A good thing to note was they have mini jars of Bonne Maman Jelly's which are fantastic. Overall it was good. Also note that the breakfast menu has changed.

Breakfast fries are a must, its caramelized onions taste and crispness are well done. Service is subpar, the burger is ok - just another regular burger with no special flavor - and the turkey sandwich is super dry and hard to eat with very small breads and not enough sauce. The milkshake is American style, too much milk and not very consistent - it is good if you like this style.

We came here after an event ‘When Fashion Meets’ held at the Hotel... Love the ambience of the diner, the server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Enjoyed the food, we had the Fried Chicken with waffles and the Fried Chicken sandwich with the Duck Fries, hmm hmm good. The portion sizes are great and reasonably priced... I’ll definitely be making a return visit soon... Thanks for the excellent service!!! Ps. Checkout the hotels rooftop while you’re there too😉

The food was yummy! The portions where fair. The prices where on the high side. The waitress that we had seated us and never came back to the table. We had to flag down another waiter after seating there for half hour. Once we where finished eating and paid the bill our waitress finally showed up to the table to thank us for our tip. The tip was for the guy that served us not for her. Wonder if we would still be sitting there if we didn’t order from other waiter. The manager had a big hole in his sweater. This place is lucky it is attached to the hotel or else I think it would be in trouble if based on quality.

One of my favourite diners in the city! Great location with some amazing dishes. Especially loved the truffle Mac and cheese with crab - literally still drooling over the thought of it

Great food and our waitress was incredibly kind and courteous. The menu was limited but that made the food all the better!

Overpriced! We came here at 1am on a Thursday hoping to be wowed by an allegedly affordable menu but ended up spending 65 dollars on food for two people! Let's start off with the good. The wings. Massive wings worth every penny seasoned to perfection, spicy and delicious. Paired with three random carrots and a lovely blue cheese/yogurt-type sauce. And now for the bad. The "Best Burger" The bun was alright, oily. The lettuce and tomatoes were alright. The Chipotle Mayo was barely noticeable. The Chicken was meh. It was a nice large piece of chicken and the breading was great, but everything combined was so dry I had to drown it in ketchup. Absolutely not $15 worth. Maybe $9? Finally, the ugly. The "Best Poutine." Let's start this off with a big fat NO. Not by any means the best anything! The fries were mediocre, the gravy was nothing special, the cheese curds were no better than the Walmart brand and the duck?? WHERE WAS THE DUCK?!? The tiny minces of duck were not noticeable, not flavourful, and disappointing! To add insult to injury, the serving size was abysmal. For 14$ I can get three genuinely tasty Poutines from MCDONALDS. I woulda paid $30 for this meal, MAX. The service was alright except the other diners were all loud and obnoxious frat boys or "gangsters" yelling and laughing loudly. Would come back for the wings though.

Amazing service, food, and atmosphere. Their portions were great! I was already thinking about when I could come by next before my meal was done.

The el benedicto was dynamite. As was the hot sauce served with the fried chicken. Definitely worth a visit and great for breakfast with a group or little ones. Has high chairs.

👍 Good food as always! Convenient. Kids friendly. One star less because in the men’s washrooms there is no arrangement for baby diapers change. I managed it somehow but for a single dad with baby it is not convenient. I hope management would put up something to resolve it. Thank you.
