I was sort of hooked when I saw this tea house from outside on the street and then when I got in, I could not help staring at every corner =))) This tea house is quite exquisite and the vibe inside is fabulous. I felt kind of being in a Middle-Eastern or Indian tea house except for the music that night which did not match with the vibe of the place (they were playing American Rock songs). I had a creamy white tea, which I loved, and the whole place added so much to the taste… I can’t explain how, you just have to be there. And before I forget, make sure you have nice clean socks… because you gotta take your shoes off here 😎😄

Been here Twice and both times I can honestly say were lovely!! Everything is 100% the best 👌 from the cosy 🥰 ambience to decor to food/drinks 🫖🍵🥗 💕 Plus they have board games!!! 🎲 So you can stay for hours, you'll never get bored ;) Thank you to the servers, they were friendly and provide great service! :)) I recommend this place to everyone who wants to catch up with friends, go on date, study or just have tea/coffee alone and chill! 😌 Go check out this wonderful and peaceful "Safe Haven" ✌

one of my favourite spots to hang out in the city. Beautiful decor, homey, very generous pricing, and the teas are genuinely great. Had the Heart of Ice and the Healing Ginger, couldnt get enough of both. And thats the best part - unlimited teas with the anti-cafe concept! They also serve amazing popcorn and season it so so well ( i got one with spices, salt and coconut oil) Can’t wait to be back!!!

I really wanted to rate it 5/5. But... It is a quirky and comfortable place. I used to come here before the change of ownership. I liked the previous structure better than the anti-cafe pay structure they have now. First the positives, food is still great, amazing tea, coffee, dessert (omg the carrot cake is to die for). The service was a little slow though, I had a great interaction with the owner but then towards the end it almost felt like he was being bothered from us ordering more food and drinks. I thought I was the only who felt this way but other in my group said the same. Not sure, what happened there. The anti-cafe structure is for those wanting a place to for co-working, etc. I get it. I think cafes put a two minimum hour limit so people don't sit there the whole day. I think the per hour fee should maybe start if someone wishes to stay beyond two hours. The main reason I used to chill here was to play board games while having drinks, but the board games seemed to be in a bad shape this time. I don't see why I'd not just to another cafe if I've want one or two cups of coffee + eat, (usually takes two hours). At least I won't have to pay a fee to use the space on top of that as well. Kinda feel like If I want to come back here just to eat + have a drink, I will feel rushed to leave within an hour.

Really slow and terrible service, the place looks really run-down and the food was not good. Even the board games were insanely old, missing pieces or broken. For paying so much, and for the unique non-tipping experience (which btw is available in the rest of the world outside of North America), it really was not worth it. I had high expectations for the high star rating but there’s a lot to improve. Especially service and food. The tea was the only highlight of my experience.

For around $12 per person, you get unlimited tea and coffee (and they have a pretty good selection of tea). The environment is definitely bohemian, with lots of cozy, private nooks to sit and chat. The patio is well lit and there are a bunch of tables with outlets at the back in case you want to do work.

It’s been a long time that it’s been a long time that I wanted to go to bampot house. My overall experience was good. The variety of teas available is great. I would definitely return there and I try other options in their menu. I trie the bambam chai, creamsicle and moroccan mint and all tasted amazing. I also had the toasties top of all that tea.

The lovely and beautiful Hannah and Mark own this serene tea house in the city. The best hidden gem I've ever been to. Lavender tea is always my go-to and then whatever new daily soup and special that Hannah (or Mark) has cooked up that day! 💛 Positive energies radiate from this place, Toronto's little public living room. (When you walk in, look right and you'll see my boyfriend's rad photography displayed on the wall!!!! 😎👉👉)

We were looking for a place to play board games and we found someone much more than that. The place feels very cozy and homey, starting by the fact you have to remove your shoes. They have a wide variety of teas as well as some food. Table wise, you will find some classic table, as well as intimate cubicle with a lot of pillows and carpet, get one of those if free :). Overall a really good experience, I'll definitely come back there to try more teas and food. If you haven't you should definitely check this place out, you will be catapulted into a story tale place.

Bampot has lovely vibes and the owner is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The staff there get paid a living wage, so tips are not necessary (there is a sign that says so). I had the faerie's blood (tea) and it was great, I was able to get it vegan (raw sugar instead of honey) and iced. I was able to grab a booth for my friend and I. It was super nice relaxing and chatting there without shoes and to be by the window with a great view of the musician that day (Henry Nozuka). A cool place to chill out. ❤

Incredibly cozy. Cute booths to sit in, huge selection of tea, great coffee, and excellent food. Ownership changed in the last year and with it the pricing structure; you can get unlimited tea and drip coffee for a set rate. Owner absolutely knows their stuff and made fantastic tea recommendations. Tends to be busy on evenings and weekends, so I’d a reservation if possible.

I truly can't wait to have return visit. Alex truly sets the bar high for an enjoyable experience. It took a lot for me to return to the dine in experience and boy was this this a hospitable experience. We sat in a lovely, comfortable cushioned booth by the window with all the bohemian feels. We enjoyed a delectable cheese board that hit all the right marks on ecoutraments like gluten free bread, and sweet preserves. Our teas were Russian caravan, Serenity Now, and even a custom blend! (Thanks so much for that again!) The price was right, the experience was warm and comforting, and my friend and I had a much needed catch up that felt like we were talking from the comfort of home. Thanks so much for this great experience! We're sure to return!

This place has a very nice atmosphere, but the last time I was here my friends and I ordered 4 of the same drink, and 2 of the drinks they gave us were basically half portions. I know that sometimes the glass can affect the look of how much liquid is inside, but the glasses were all the same height and filled halfway despite 2 of them being more skinny. I understand they were probably out of ingredients, but that should have been relayed to us so we could order something else. Or just merge the two half drinks to make one and offer to replace the fourth drink. I did not appreciate the lack of acknowledgement as it felt scummy.

Reached out in advance to confirm that their afternoon tea could be made gluten-free. They made a separate smaller version for me to ensure no cross contamination. Staff was super attentive and quick to bring new tea. They even replaced one pot we didn’t like. It was very tasty and would recommend!!

I wish I could leave a positive review of this place. Unfortunately, I had a strange interaction with the owner. I used to go in regularly and began speaking to the owner. Ironically, to the situation, we talked the most about my difficulty with a freelance client who would not pay. The owner gave me advice about my ongoing situation, and we began interacting regularly. Eventually, our interactions turned into the owner entertaining the idea of having me help with Bampot events. I was apprehensive and offered to do some small services before committing to work. We decided I would make a Bampot events package for free in exchange for me working in Bampot for free. The owner also offered me free food and beverages during this time – this was not a requirement of mine. It was freely offered by the owner and staff. This arrangement occurred from December through January. Eventually, the owner wanted my help putting together Valentine's Day promotional material for their social media. They offered me a percentage of table reservations for the evening, and I accepted. This was all verbal. I shared all the promo images with them. They have since been removed from the Bampot page but still exist on the pages of the participating vendors. Due to ongoing health issues, I was unable to effectively do more promotions for Valentine's Day. The owner had and used my social media designs. I did not do reels, etc., though I have the footage I took for them. As a result, I wasn't sure where our agreement stood. After the Valentine's Day event, the owner reached out to me offering to pay me. I was sick at the time, so I requested an e-transfer. The owner then ghosted me. I asked them a few times for an explanation but haven't heard anything back. I really like aspects of Bampot and the ideals the business represents. However, I find it so strange that an establishment that proudly announces its committment to fair pay would offer and then retract their offer without explanation. If you are a vendor or considering working with them, please be careful and think twice. I'd say more, but I will leave it at just because a place claims certain ideals does not mean they practice them. Business is business.

Such a gem! We loved the variety of herbal tea blends here, looking forward to trying more in the future! If you stay for more than an hour, you get a cup of soup for free too. Special mention to the hummus and falafel, which were especially delicious.

The owner of this place creates a wonderful environment, and truly cares to ensure that everyone who walks in the door has a splendid time. From support in tea selections, frequent check ins to make sure we were comfy, and lovely conversation - it was a great evening. It’s a perfect place to spend some time catching up with friends or even do some work during the day. There is quite a selection of delicious teas and healthy food options, that are also yummy! Overall, would highly recommend taking the time to visit this spot. The atmosphere is wonderful and relaxing, but the Owner is by far what keeps people coming back!

Outstanding tea, food, and service! Went there for the first time for the Afternoon High Tea. My partner and I enjoyed everything, special mention to their falafel and unique tea selection. The relaxed ambiance was perfect for a date, with the live music and cozy interiors. Truly a unique venue promoting anti-cafe and fair trade practices. Huge board game options are also available. We would definitely visit again!!!

Excellent place to relax or spend some time with friends. They have alternative seating options so you can recline on pillows on elevated platforms which is very relaxing. It’s my favourite place to come study

I like this place, they make you take your shoes off when you enter just like one of my friends does when I enter his house. The games here are good and the atmosphere is nice, I feel like the regulars here have a really nice community. This is not a place to go for food, but rather for company and for fun games.

My friend brought me here for the first time and it was a great experience. The staff member, Olivia, I believe, was very sweet and attentive. Also had an allergy issue with my salad and she took it back and asked to get it remade. So I'm super appreciative of that. The falafel salad is amazing. Warm and moist 😊 We also ordered a tea Olivia recommend and played three rounds of chess and exploding kittens. Will definitely be back in the near future.

Contrary to some recent reviews criticizing the place, my friend and I had a great experience. We had a delicious platter that we could barely finish because it was packed with yummy stuff, it had a bit of everything savoury and sweet and I think the price ($60) is fair (great falafel!). The tea was ok, but I'm not picky. The servers were all very nice and the lady tending the bar was lovely. I can't speak for the board games because I didn't play any, and while I tend to agree with some comments that the place's decor is a bit dated, I think that's exactly where its charm resides. My only complaint would be the exhaust system because I don't like my clothes smelling of food (but that's pretty common in Toronto). The fact that they pay a livable wage is amazing and kudos to them. I tipped because I wanted too and not because I was made to feel bad about it. Some people just need to chill as well, enjoy the food, tea, and relax lol

If one word can describe Bampot it's VIBES! That said, I have a lot more words 😉 A thoughtfully done spot where you can stay for hours without the pressure to leave or give a massive tip, and with so many options if you don't want to consume alcohol. It's a cozy and cute spot that's conveniently located, perfect for first dates, catching up with friends, quiet meetings, or just sitting and reading a book.

One of the coziest/quirky places in Toronto. Reasonably priced and super friendly staff! They have weekly events as well such as open mic nights on Tuesdays. Definitely coming back!

One of the best vibes in the city. The new menu is delicious and the tea selection has also expanded. If you’re looking for a community-oriented space in Toronto and love art, Bampot hits all the spots.

Cool place with bohemian vibe. We got the high tea special $48/each and played chess (2.5hr package). Came with two pots of yummy tea and the food tray. I would come back. Their tea selection is seriously primo!

Loved the quaint tea house. While it's in the middle of downtown, being inside makes you forget that. From the food, to the games and the overall setting, everything about the place is extremely well thought-out and on point.

Great place with friendly and relaxed atmosphere! I’m not vegan or gluten-free and I found the food to be delicious. Service was great and the selection of tea was immense! I definitely recommend the pita and hummus>> so good!

Bampot has been one of the highlights of my experience of living in Toronto for the past ten years. It is one of the only places in the city where you can go to relax in a public space to the same degree that you would at your own home. You can relax, play games, put your feet up, have drinks unlike you've ever tasted, and have a healthy warm meal. If you have an idea for a community event, or creative offerings of any sort, this is a ripe place to offer something of your own. I've organized art galleries, tea blending workshops, life drawing events, story telling sessions, and reading groups in this space. It morphs and blends to your needs. It has been a major catalyst in meeting some of my favourite people on the planet. I couldn't recommend this space enough.

finally made it to this amazing spot! the place is incredibly atmospheric and quirky, the staff are very friendly and helpful. the selection of games is not the biggest but their tea is delicious and coziness is at its peak. love how they do live music and events that you can just drop by for. cant wait to be back:)

Their oolong tea is so good, very aromatic and mild. They seem to have good food as well. Would like to come back next time to try some dishes. The ambiance and setting are interesting with an old Asian vibe. Knowledgeable and professional staff.

Despite living in Toronto for 4 years, I hadn't been to this place until yesterday. The owner was really friendly, the atmosphere was amazing, and most importantly, the tea was great! They have a really good collection of teas, sweets and so much space! Also, you can play boardgames and they have a good collection of games. I would highly recommend the place.

super welcoming funky tea house. atmosphere is what you would expect from a tea house. wide variety to choose from. an interesting system for teapots based on the hour. there is also a bar. super relaxed approachable staff. if i lived in the area id frequent this place often. the tea however is on the lighter side. i wonder if its really loose leaf tea. the tea is brewed then poured into a cast iron pot which all of them are beautiful and easy to handle.

  • 5/5 Sandor D. 10 months ago on Google
The fact that as comfy and magical and wholesome as Bampot still exists gives me hope for Toronto. The open mic jam is really refreshing too. Not your usual thing. Although they serve drinks, it's still friendly nightlife spot for non-drinkers, thanks to the atmosphere and the amazing selection of loose leaf teas that are prepared with great care and love.

Bampot is a creative and cultural hub for so many of us. I regularly book the backroom for collective art projects, and our group is always well taken care of -- the vegan food is absolutely excellent, and the bevy of beverages are top notch. Bampot is one of the few safe and nurturing places for creative souls left in Toronto. It's magic - highly recommend!

My friend introduced me to this place recently so we all went and I had a really lovely time. Such a cozy atmosphere, beautiful decor and stunning tea cups, and the window seat with cushions was perfect. Time flew by because we felt welcome and comfy. They have a huge menu for teas (I recommend Pinhead Gunpowder for a deep flavour tea)! I appreciate their transparency about wage/benefits and hope to see more of these places in Toronto. :) Will be coming back to play board games next time.

Absolutely love this spot, their co-op ownership and their drink selection are fantastic. The atmosphere is very welcoming. They could use more games, but have an ok selection. Bringing your own is always an option!

  • 5/5 Yana S. 1 year ago on Google
If you looking for something authentic, playful and delicious, then that's the spot. It's coziness creates the perfect atmosphere to meet with good friends for a nice cup of tea/coffee, good food, and board games if you like. Good live music too. So... just perfect
