Such friendly service, delicious food, and huge portions! My eggs were done a little too hard, so they promptly brought me out 2 more even though I didn’t expect that at all. 100% a great brunch spot and such a great opportunity to try indigenous food!

Must try spot in Toronto and go before they close down. The fried bread was so good and authentic. Portions are huge and everything tasted great. I felt it was a bit modernized with the smoked salmon which I would have preferred if it was more cultural. I literally enjoyed the fried bread the most! Their sweet grass soda is delicious and I need to find where I can buy that. Also cash only!

Worth the wait! Servings are huge and you’re guaranteed to leave full. The sauce they came on the poached eggs was delicious. The fried bread with smoke salmon is a fantastic combo. The home fries are crispy and seasoned well. Very sad that Pow Wow is closing but all the best to the owners!

Incredible food by indigenous chef, sourcing fresh and local ingredients. Located in the heart of the eclectic Kensington Market, they have a small space with a few tables indoors and outdoors. Great place for brunch! The hours currently are short. So be sure to follow them on social media (ex. Instagram) to get their latest offerings and hours of operations.

It's kind of cramped but when you're surrounded by friendly happy people it just adds to the vibe. The staff are the nicest and the chef is a genius. The food is phenomenal. We enjoyed a McPowWow sandwich and a plate of Bison Chili Tacos which was a small mountain of goodness on the plate. Well worth the wait to get in.

They are only opening every odd weekend for now. But their food is definitely worth a visit. The food tastes fresh and the flavours are on point for everything I've had here over the years. Got the pumpkin cornmeal pancakes, which were fluffy and delicious. Sad news: Their lease is up in May. The plan is to ramp up the odd weekends to more consistent weekends as it gets closer. So going to plan to visit a few more times before their only location is northern Ontario. And, as always, cash only.

Delicious food! We arrived at about 12:30pm and had to wait maybe 20 minutes but we had expected this. The food is on the pricey side but we defintiely felt it was worth it and we were both more than full after we left! Mt husband had a taco brunchified and I had the McPow Wow. The coffee was delicious and we were blown away by the flavors of the food. The space us cramped sure and staff are busy busy but they are working hard to feed as many people as they can in the que. Will definitely go back to try some soda and a different dish! Please note is is cash only!

The food tasted amazing!!! We got the mcpowwow (which has duck breast, bologna, egg, frybread), smocked salmon, and veggie tacos. All tasted amazing and the frybread made the dish 100% better. Little pricy, as each dish is $20. Also make sure to bring cash because they only accept cash!

Nice taco. Three out of five of our tacos had sour cream. Mine didn't have any and I would've liked some. Not a fan of the cilantro but good taco all round.

I've come before the pandemic and was excited to come back when they opened up for in-person dining. My friend and I came here for brunch - she brunchified (add-on of home fries and egg) her vegetarian pow wow style taco and I had the McPowWow. We loved them both! They make some of the best frybread I've ever had - fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I also recommend trying their housemade sodas - we had the cedar soda which had a crisp, strong cedar taste. Would definitely recommend!

I was lucky enough to stop at Pow Wow Cafe during their pop-up this Feburary and try frybread for the very first time! They took my order in the doorway and immediately set to preparing the most delicious (well, I'm assuming, as I'd never had them before!) Indian beef tacos. Everyone was so friendly and I only wish they were back to full-service so I could come many more times and experience that atmosphere for brunch as well. I also got a sweetgrass tea, which was absolutely perfect for the grey and windy day, and one of their tote bags which I have used nonstop for groceries ever since because it is so huge and sturdy. If you have the chance to come by while they're open, do it! (P.S. They are cash-only, so be sure to stop at an ATM before you arrive)

Wow! Honestly the best brunch I have had. Large portions, fresh and tasty ingredients. Will definitely be back before they close after May 2023! We had the poached egg and smoked salmon with a goat cheese cream sauce on a bed of fry bed, as well as the mcpowwow which had duck confit 🤤🤤

The guys at Pow Wow cafe catered a 200+ dinner for us and it was amazing. They didn’t miss a step in delivery. The buffalo meatloaf for the main and Blueberry crumble for dessert were a hit. Go check them out before they close.

YUM! We had a delicious experience! Very good value for money. Lots of flavour, beautiful presentation and friendly smiling staff! We ordered the Beef Chili and Coconut Lime Leaf Curry $12 each! It’s not really a taco like you would think, they have fried bread!

Been lucky enough to try their great food on the road at various Pow Wows. Fresh ingredients and a beautiful presentation - make sure to follow them on social media for storefront hours!

I have wanted to try Indigenous food for a long time and Pow Wow Cafe had been bookmarked on Yelp for awhile. I was so sad to hear that it was closing, but am also glad that I DID hear, so I could make sure to try it before they closed. I took a day off work so I could come. Although I was there bright and early, it was really packed - mind you it is a small restaurant. I was able to score a seat outside. I ordered the beef chili taco, which I was told is something that would traditionally be served at a Pow Wow. I decided to brunchify it and it did not disappoint. The portions were big, the food was fresh and damn was it ever good. I'm sad that they are now closed, but will definitely be keeping an eye on anything this chef does.

What a great moment ! Amazing service, and explanations about the menu / inspirations. price is fair ✌🏻. You have to try the homemade cedar soda. We are from Montreal and in Toronto for 4 days. This was our best experience ❤️.

Very tasty foods, ordered poached eggs and goat cheese sauce & smoked salmon on top of fried bread. It was delicious. It came with fresh fruits and salads in generous portion, which also was very flavourful. I also ordered their housemade soda (violet apple soda?) it was one of the best sodas I've ever had. Not too sweet but subtle scent of vioelt. They apparently pick the flowers up north in their property on their own to infuse them. So I had to try and I'm very happy I did! The lady who served us was very nice and friendly. I'd come back here again for sure, and highly recommend this place if you are visiting Kensington market!

Delicious food, and very friendly service. This was my second visit here. Today I had one of the specials, fry bread tacos with turkey. Would definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area.

Absolutely love this place and would recommend to everyone! Our server was so sweet and very attentive. The food was delicious. We had their classic Indian Taco as well as the Poached Eggs with Salmon. Great, unique place for brunch!

Cash only (ATM inside). Group of 3, each ordered differently: 1. 3-egg omelette with asiago cheese, home fries and salad ---love at first bite, generous portion, delicious. 2. Mc Pow Wow with the fruit and salad---amazing, cheesy! 3. Rabbit taco with salad---gooey and filling. All attractive presentations. Good tunes. Homey, rustic decor in an intimate environment. Shawn is a fantastic chef who sources fresh ingredients and blends them well together. Whitney was a delightful, attentive, personable server. They make a killer team! We'll spread the word and be back soon :)

This place does not fool around, nor does it disappoint! Came for a Saturday brunch, and the place was packed. Fortunately, the two of us were seated on the patio in less than 10 minutes. I decided on the wild rice oatmeal, topped with a variety of seeds, a massive dollop of maple yogurt, and saucy simmered blueberries. My friend opted for the duck eggs served on jalapeño corn bread waffle, with smoked duck and maple beans. Both mains came with a side salad (beautifully garnished with petals and edible flowers) and fruit. Mine also came with delicious home fries! First observation - so much food! But so much delicious food! My oatmeal had so much complexity and flavor that I didn't even need to add the maple syrup, served complimentary in a small bottle. The blueberries added a rich sweetness, balanced by the acidity of the yogurt, and the soft hot oats/wild rice juxtaposed against the crunchy seeds. I also thoroughly enjoyed the home fries, which were crispy whole pieces of smashed potatoes, seasoned with dried oregano or thyme. I also sampled a bit of my friend's dish; the waffle absolutely stole the show. The beans had a beautiful smoky flavor that paired wonderfully with the tasty waffle. It's a little on the richer and heavier side, but a real show stopper. The brunch options are quite varied and so aesthetic. Would definitely come again!

Veggie taco (on bannock) was fantastic! I found myself slowing down at the end of the meal, because I didn't want it to be over. Warm and friendly service. And try the Sweetgrass Soda if you can!

My partner and I came here for the first time today and we’ll definitely return. We got two different tacos and both were very good. Even though it was busy, our server was still super friendly and considerate.

🫤 Neat and clean in the retail, but buying equipment is difficult and it seemed like they wanted me out of their hair.
