I am pretty new to Italian food so can't comment much on how close the taste was to what it should have been but I for sure loved every bite of it! Old brick walls, red and white table clothes, a tiny window to the kitchen and the bar tucked in the corner, all sum up to a very inviting and intimate interior. Service is prompt and courteous. Pasta portion size is plentiful even when it doesn't look like it!

True high quality Italian food, the way it’s supposed to be, with only the best high quality ingredients, served here! This is the only restaurant in Ontario where I intently go to eat pasta - and I usually avoid eating pasta at all other times. Amazing food, and I keep coming back to this place.

A very nice spot for authentic Italian food. The workers were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was very good, one of the best tomato sauces I've ever tasted. The only issue for me was the pizza was a little salty but that could just be an issue of personal taste.

Cute Italian restaurant in the heart of Little Italy, Taverniti has seating both in side and street-side (in the summer time). They have a fairly large menu with lots of pasta and pizza options to choose from. The Domenico pizza was the highlight of our meal. It was perfectly cooked and perfectly dressed. Penne alla vodka was decent but could use some salt and was almost too creamy. The Gamberi in spicy tomato sauce was good. The sauce was amazing but the shrimp was rubbery (tasted like frozen shrimp). Overall a good dining experience but not somewhere I’ll be dying to revisit given the plethora of Italian options available in the city.

Super cute and cozy family owned Italian restaurant in Little Italy. It's a very busy restaurant, and rightly so, as the service and food were both superb. We had the figs for appetizers - stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in prosciutto. A great sweet and savoury and creamy dish. We also had the penne alla Calabrese. The sauce was very flavourful and spicy. Pasta were cooked perfectly Al dente. Their tiramisu cake was light and fluffy packed with espresso flavour. Delicious meal. The staff were attentive to our needs despite it being so busy. Highly recommend.

Food is below average. Caprese salad had tomatoes with green centres, no basil, and barely any oil or vinegar. Probably the worst caprese I’ve had at a restaurant. Pasta was alright, definitely over cooked the pasta, not even close to aldente, and the pasta to sauce ratio was way off for the tomato sauce pasta pictured. Almost no meat in it as well. No bread with the meal either, which would have been nice given the excess sauce. Our server was nice but seemed like she was the only one working. There were 2 other employees in the back just chit chatting the entire time we were there. Our server was serving I think 6 tables, so she did her best, but service was obviously slow. Some other servers arrived right as we were leaving so I assume there’s more than 1 server usually. Overall, very meh food, not worth the 80$ total.

The food was good, with the pizza being great, I'll give it 5 stars. The building's interior was nice and the atmosphere will definitely make you feel like you're in one of Italy's restaurants, however, the restaurant is small and feels very cramped when it is busy. If you want to dine here, make a reservation because there aren't many spots available and they fill up quickly. My advice is not to go during the summer before 6 pm because they leave the restaurant's windows open and it is very hot. The staff was nice and friendly. I would definitely go again on a cooler day.

Amazing quality every time!! I’ve been coming here for a while now and it’s always consistent. Hands-down one of my favourite Italian places in Toronto. The gnocchi Venezia is so beautiful with the perfect consistency to the gnocchi and the flavour of the sauce is amazing. The carbonara is so tasty with plenty of flavour and very well-done overall. With the exceptional dishes and cute interior this will remain a go-to spot!!

Great service even though they were short staffed at noon. Excellent authentic Italian food. A bit salty but very good. Pizza was excellent with crispy crust. The fettuccini Alfredo was unbelievable. Prices are good for the quality of food.

It was a mixed experience when I went to dine here with my friend. It is located in the heart of Little Italy. The place itself is quite nice and it is fine dining for sure but there are certain things which I liked and some which I disliked. Thumbs up : The food!! We both took the pasta and it was really good as evident from the pics. They did not overdo the sauce and the taste and the quantity was manageable. Thumbs down: The service!! We had to wait long to place our orders and they themselves were confused if they had taken our orders or not. Plus, I asked to substitute chicken in my pasta and got turned down rudely saying the kitchen was busy. This after another server told me that the substitution was possible. It is not a bad place but i wish they make the service better to have an enjoyable experience overall.

good pasta and great service. Really good coffee and amazing tiramisu- highly highly recommend! Didn’t much enjoy the wrapped figs and found the lightly sauced pastas a bit bland. But will always come back for the tiramisu!

First time visit and without a reservation on a Monday evening. So happy they were able to accommodate us (table for 2) as we were celebrating an anniversary. The decor of the restaurant is really rustic and cozy, perfect for a date night. The food was delicious and you can tell that it is all homemade. We had the gnocchi and ravioli as well as the Caesar salad and calamari to start. The tiramisu was also very yummy, light and fluffy. Service was also great, we didn’t wait too long for our food even though it was a full house. Can’t wait to return to try their other food options, everything on the menu sounded delicious. Would definitely recommend but make a reservation in advance.

Terrible attitude from the server's to go along with horrendous food. The tomato sauce tasted like it was straight out the can, too acidic and no seasoning. Carbonara with bacon at an Italian restaurant...What an atrocity. No one at the restaurant has heard of guanciale. The salad dressing was just vinegar and olive oil. We were roped in by the red checkered table cloth, and duped. Never again.

Our mission to get delicious Italian food in Little Italy was accomplished. Authentic Italian dishes. We both had the best pillowy gnocchi but damn we should have tried their pizza. Every pizza dished out looked so damn good. And of course the amazing tiramisu, the server said it's the best and it is, no regrets even though we were already full.

Loved this restaurant located in little Italy. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the lighting was not overly bright. The service was quick, knowledgeable and very friendly. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. Good portions and at a reasonable price. I recommend the Calabrese Salad and Veal Parmesan.

Very cozy Italian place! I ordered gnocchi with Gorgonzola and it was 👌🏼👌🏼tiramisu was also very good (and the serving was huge) Service was super attentive and everything came on time. Tables were the perfect size and the music wasn’t too loud. Had a great time!

Fresh pasta was really good and flavours nice. Only main complaint was that the service was far too slow on a busy, but not insanely busy, Sunday evening.

Ate here 5 years ago when in Toronto and loved it. Rosina's gnocchi was amazing. Was sad to hear that's she's passed, but enjoyed her namesake pizza, which was amazing! Will eat here every time I'm in town.

We meant to go to the restaurant next door but they were fully booked for the hour, So we decided to try this place since we were told they had the same kitchen and menu. And they did not disappoint. This place has some of the best pizza in the city and on Little Italy. This neopolitan pizza is fantastic but needs to be eaten hot and right away. Not ideal for takeout.

Lovely little "mom and pop" place. Food is tasty. Portion sizes were decent. A little small/tight but that contributes to its very family like feel.

Went here because it was close to “Track and Field”. Good thing we made reservations because it’s very small. That being said, the food was amazing, the service was fantastic, even though there was only one server because of a sick call. Pizza was out of this world. Would highly recommend.

I visited this place yesterday for the dinner with my friends. The restaurant is not too spacious but beautifully constructed and conventionally built. The ambience was cozy and welcoming. The staff was polite and treated us very well. Although there were not many vegetarian options, still one of our servers gave us the best suggestions and we really enjoyed a lot. Both the servers were excellent in their job. Above and beyond, Dori was sociable and exceptional in her service. Thanks a lot. Definitely, I will go back soon.

The food was ok nothing special at all, I had better Italian food at other restaurants. The service was not good and we expected to have a better service. We got the Sea food pasta and it was overcooked! We also ordered Domenico pizza which was very salty… Buratta was fine. We wanted to order the dessert but ended up going to another place since the service was not good.

Very cute interior and decor and I especially loved the exposed brick and red/white tablecloths. We walked in on a Friday night and were lucky enough that they were able to accommodate us a table. The menu had a wide variety of options for pizzas and pastas. We ordered the bruschetta to start and to share. It was quite bland however and I wouldn't order it again. I got the margherita pizza for myself. A buddy of mine ordered a pizza too but they brought out the wrong one. He decided to switch his order to the same as mine since it looked so good. The staff did not seem to be too concerned with addressing us throughout the night. We had to wait quite a long time for somebody to take our order, ask for small plates when we got our bruschetta and ask for a water refill ourselves. However, perhaps we can chalk it up to a long day and it being the end of the night. Overall, a fine Italian restaurant.

The Margherita pizza was amazing after a full day of travelling to Toronto. The staff did not seem to be too concerned with addressing me or seating me, however. I waited a good 3 minutes along with a couple behind me while two servers talked with the bartender, even though they all looked my way a few times. One server walked past me and didn't say anything. I just think that's a bad first impression. However another girl who ended up being my server seated me when she came from the back, and she was very friendly and attentive. I didn't catch her name but she definitely made up for that, not that it was an end of the world issue. The sidewalk patio is quite nice during a warmer evening. I would definitely come back here next time I visit Toronto.

Trattoria Taverniti is a hidden gem! The food here is simply amazing. The cute interior adds to the cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a meal. Don't miss out on their pizzas – they're an absolute must-try!

Nice little family Italian restaurant. Service was good, although they had only 3 ladies working at the front and doing all duties of host/bar and servers. Bruschetta - 7/10 Bauletti di zucca - 6/10 *quite sweet and it was warm not hot Tagliatelle ai funghi misti - 8/10 *really good and came out hot Tiramisu - 8/10 Came here specifically from seeing a TikTok saying they had the BEST tiramisu in the city. Honestly, I’ve had better. But it was pretty good.

We went for a dinner after reserving a place as it’s usually booked. Selected patio seating. The servers were great. We were told we can not modify your orders as we asked to get added veggies on the pasta which was a bit weird but acceptable. We went for “Mediterraneo” pizza which had a base of tomato sauce with red peppers, red onions and black olives as toppings and pasta named as “funghi misti” which had mushrooms, cream and truffle oil sauce. The Pasta was extremely delicious. The sauce was great and flavourful. The pizza was good too. Again the sauce in the pizza was extremely good. Both the food items were enough for two people. We also ordered 2 drinks. The aperol spritz was one of the best drinks I had drank in a long time. Would definitely visit again and would like to try more pasta dishes :)

Amazing Italian food here! Service is friendly, so personable. Recommending anyone coming here to order some antipastas can't go wrong with any of them.

Menus are dirty. The deck smells like urine. Alfredo pasta lacked salt, pizzas were very good, ravioli mushrooms was wonderful, bolognese was very good. Service was good, although we were not serviced for some time at some point.. and we had to get up and ask for it…

Overall the food and service is good, but there are some points to be improved: + The staff were helpful and nice. + Anthony Pizza is a plus. A unique pizza with fig jam, gorgonzola, and prosciutto. It has some sweetness in its taste that I really liked. I am a fan of experiencing new food. - Pastas were good but not exceptional to our tastes. Similar to many other restaurants. - A small cockroach was next to us moving up the wall. I know that the windows were open and it seems unavoidable, but no one likes to see them while eating. Not sure if I will come back again, but I don't want to give them something less than 4 stars. I hope they address the issues. If I come back, I am curious to order Gnocchi from their menu.
