I have been an active customer at Saigon Lotus for quite some time (so has my family), and have always enjoyed and raved about there food & customer service to everyone I know. I just ordered quite a lot (mostly the same stuff we have always had) and I got 2 barely half full soup and spring rolls that taste like charcoal. I am extremely disappointed as I feel the price I paid for everything together was not worth it and a waste of money. I wish I could return it, but I ordered it through Uber Eats, and even paid a hefty delivery fee to have it, because my family have enjoyed it so much. Not the best start to the new year, and they won't be having my business further.

Authentic Vietnamese vegan cuisine. I enjoyed every meal. The restaurant is located in the heart of Chinatown. For parking, you can park on street or Dragon plaza nearby.

I'm not even vegan, but I've come here a few times now and I can confidently say that it's really good. The vegan pho, crispy vegetable rolls and crispy noodles are all excellent. Also, love the Viet coffee here. In terms of atmosphere, it's very calming and soothing. Good spot to sit down and have a relaxing time with a small group. It's a strong recommend from me, for both vegan and even non-vegan folks!

One of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Very busy and popular restaurant, they serve exclusively vegan food. Very reasonable prices across an extensive menu and large portion sizes - quick and friendly service along with great tasting food. If you go when they are busy you may have to wait to be seated. All of our food was incredible, I would recommend the Fresh Steamed Rice Roll and Crispy Noodles especially. All the food we saw on other tables looked amazing also. So happy this place exists and to have visited - hope to visit again during our short stay in Toronto. Photos include 2. Yam Tempura Fresh Salad Roll, 14. Fresh Steamed Rice Roll With Wild Mushroom, 51. Crispy Vegan Egg Noodle With Mixed Vegetable, Tofu and Vegan Meat.

I rarely give 5 stars. But these dishes are phenomenal! The amount of flavors will definitely keep me coming back, not to mention the prices are so so reasonable. Ive ordered online multiple times however recently I decided to visit. The decor is a little dated but very clean with a dome-ish kind of ceiling which had a painting of a blue sky with fluffy clouds and a gold trim/frame. Very pretty. Love love love. I can keep going, such great food$!$

I cannot explain how delicious their food was!!! Their broth is incredible and the fresh rolls were so flavourful. The prices are great, especially for the amount of food you get. I can't wait to go back!

Great place vegetarian food! Great Thai and Vietnamese dishes. Super attentive and friendly staff. Great for a cold evening or comfort food! Highly recommend this place. Owner is super nice and accommodating. Can’t wait to go back. Nice and peaceful indoor setting.

This place is incredible. I'm not a vegetarian at all but this place has become my newest default in Toronto. I had their freshly made banh mi, bubble tea, and fries combo for lunch for only 10 dollars. Their summer rolls with wild mushrooms is also incredible. The owners and servers here are also very hospitable and friendly. I remember it was a really busy packed lunch hour for them and I accidentally forgot to bring my leftover fries container with me and the owner personally left the restaurant and ran down the block to find me and give it to me in the midst of it. I would give this place a 10 out of 5 stars if I could :)

This is the place if you want healthy, flavourful, and delicious vegan food. It’s like a fusion of Asian cuisines and I enjoyed everything we ordered! The service was also good :)

This is a vegan Vietnamese restaurant located in Kensington market. The food is pretty good for vegan food, we got the bun bo hue, vermicelli bowl, and banh cuon. All dishes were flavourful and the textures of the fake meat was pretty chewy (although clearly not the same as real meat) Service is pretty friendly too. This is a casual family style spot, affordable and they have a good amount of seating. Washrooms downstairs.

I came here a few times and found some good dishes :) I’d highly recommend the chef’s special pan fried pho and exotic fried rice. I’ve had two of the noodle soups which were pretty good as well, but not out of this world. I’d also highly recommend the taro milk tea and taro latte. I’ve tried all the rice paper rolls and I think spicy jicama peanut is the best :) Wait staff is friendly, although they got my order wrong a few times (e.g. forgetting which dish I ordered, which size and omitting a dish altogether). Great atmosphere and vibes, but it can get busy and noisy sometimes. All in all, a solid place :)

The best vegetarian food place so far! The interior design is cool with magical realism influences. The food is good! I never tasted anything like this before. Very healthy and refreshing!

Hands down my favorite Viet restaurant in Toronto. Go-to appetizer: steamed rice rolls & samosas. The steamed rice rolls come with fried shallots sprinkled on top and thick vegan fish sauce on the side. They add lots of fragrance, flavor, and texture to the plain rolls. The samosas are amazing too - you can taste the crispy shell, the steaming hot soft green pea & potato filling, and the unique tamarind sauce all in one bite. Entree: soup noodles. I’ve tried all the soup noodles on the menu and every single one is amazing. My personal favorite used to be the egg noodles but I think they changed the noodles in the past couple of months and they no longer have the chewy texture I liked. But regardless the soup broth is always amazing with a hint of sweetness and the vegan toppings are packed with flavor. They’re perfect for any day and make you warm from inside out. Drinks/desserts: I’ve only tried their avocado smoothie and rainbow jelly drink. Both were pretty good. Price: Very reasonable. Before covid the soup noodle was only $10(s)/$11(l) if I recall correctly. They raised the price after the pandemic but still fairly reasonable compared to other fancy vegan restaurants.

This place has great vegan food! Wow! The appetizers were delicious, we took a ban mi and tibetan dumplings and mmmm 😍 We also took the rice combo 1&2 and I would recommend the second one before the first one. The banana fritter wasn't that special but all in all everything was great. Yummy, fun to try and affordable 🤗

The food here was fantastic, so much better than I expected! We ordered spring roll, sweet and sour tofu and spicy green curry. Not only was it delicious, but the portions were huge and for a very good price! I'd love to come back when I visit Toronto again.

I'm not a vegetarian, but still decided to give this place a try and was pleasantly surprised! Had some rolls and a noodle soup with vegan fish meat, and they were both good! Nothing was mind-blowing, of course, but it was different enough from what I'm used to having that I found the experience pleasant (the soup reminded me of beoseot jeongol or sukiyaki without the meat, and I liked how they had both normal and fried tofu in the broth). Again, I'm not a veggie so I probably won't be returning anytime soon, but I can imagine how this might become a favorite spot for those who indulge in vegetarian dishes! Oh, the staff is super friendly too!

This is a vegan Gem, recommended by a friend. Small restaurant, excellent food, friendly service. Made reservation for Saturday dinner, which was honored. Otherwise would have to wait. We enjoyed: (i) Steamed rice rolls with fresh wild mushrooms (excellent!); (ii) clear noodle soup with BBQ meat meat (excellent - wonderful broth); (iii) grilled eggplant (tasty but texture too soft); (iv) Combo 2 (excellent); (v) Pad Thai with BBQ vegan meat (excellent); (vi) Padang coco mung bean drink (very good); and (vii) Malva nut basil drink (ok - bland). Excellent flavors, excellent dinner. Will definitely return, and recommend to friends!

Of all the vegan restaurants in this area, Saigon lotus is definitely notable. Everything was delicious, but the stand out was definitely the curry vermicelli. It’s sweet and lightly spicy, with an assortment of vegetables and plenty of noodles. The bowl was large enough to serve two. The banh mi can use more filling! Service is friendly but can be a bit neglectful.

We have been ordering from here for the last few years & it never disappoints. The Tom Yum is a must I get it every time and most recently we have started getting the steamed mushroom rolls. Their samosas are great too. 100% recommend to vegans & non vegans alike.

Perfect vegan spot in Toronto. The atmosphere was amazing. The gentle, rolling music & waterfalls had me sooooo sleepy while I was eating. But it was a comfortable relaxed sleepy. And the food was AMAZING! Great prices for the portions. Love!!!!!

5 star food. We enjoyed everything we ordered! The reason for 4 stars is that my husband witnessed a male employee use the bathroom without washing his hands after. When he left, he headed back towards the kitchen. We don't know if he was handling food directly or not, but he worked there. Either way, ALL employees (and everyone else) should be washing their hands after using the restroom. It's unhygienic and gross not to.

Very appealing environment. Seems like entering into a long-forgotten tropical treasure place in the 20th century. The light as well as the vintage collections add a bit funky atmosphere into it. The food is also a hidden gem. Even though everything on the menu vegetarian, the flavor and the texture are beyond amazing. Personally, I strongly recommend the Viet Coffee as well as the BBQ Pai Thai. The pho also tastes great, mushrooms are the best! The waitress is very nice, she gives very throughly recommendations based on different customers’ preferences. All in all, this is a place you will not regret to go to, no matter in what circumstances.

10/10 food. the combo 2 has two tofu dishes and one grilled eggplant. it automatically comes with a soup and a rice. all of them are so flavorful and distinct from each other. i would come back and try another dish. hands down best viet food i’ve had in my life! good service too :)

I just can't get over how delicious everything is here! This used to be my go-to lunch spot when I worked in that part of downtown and miss their food so much. My favorites are Vegan Combos which I usually get. They feature veggies and tofu, miso, rice and salad. Their phos and Indian style vegan "chicken" curry are also good. For the dessert, I highly recommend getting the mango sticky rice. If you haven't eaten here yet, make it a point to try when you are visiting Kensington market next.

If I lived closer, I reckon I'd have *at least* one meal or snack here a day! The food is affordable for the portions, the staff are quick and friendly (in my experience) and the atmosphere is calm and adorable. Most importantly, the flavours of the dishes are out-of-this-world and I am so thrilled that a restaurant like this exists! I've had quite a few of the offerings already and am looking forward to trying everything on the menu 🤤 (Photos show Vegan combo 2 and the jicama and peanut salad rolls 🥗)

The food here is terrific, and the menu is huge! I loved the coffee with condensed milk, I think this is the best vegan version I’ve tried. Their bún bò huê was genuinely spicy, and full of flavour. I loved the mock meats they used and the portions here are quite large. In real life, it looks smaller but much nicer than the pictures online. Sitting by the window is an especially nice dining experience. My one con is that we had a weird service experience, where we were being told that they were out of ice, but the table next to us was receiving iced drink after iced drink. When we asked them how they were receiving iced drinks if the place was supposedly “out of ice”, they said that they actually weren’t out of ice but didn’t have much left. It was very strange and we didn’t understand why we weren’t able to have even one cold drink, when they got three or four. However, I would definitely return and I’ll just hope this strange service doesn’t happen again.

Super funny coincidence, I picked this restaurant because had best reviews, but never imagined was vegan, as I brought my parents which they aren’t pro vegan. They ended loving it . The best thing I tried ever is the grilled eggplant. Now is my favorite restaurant in Toronto

I travelled to Toronto on Friday night this week past week, to get my first tatoo. As I endured the 3 hour stick and poke session, I worked up a real appetite for a delicious vegan meal. I was extremely pleased once the beaver on my rib was complete. I then became pleased further as I learned that we were going to the best vegan VietThai restaurant in Ontario. We were seated pleasantly inside the restaurant. When I glimpsed the menu, I was overcome with joy as I noted countless of my favourite meals offered completely vegan. With too many options to choose from, I ordered Vegan combo #1. It was excellent. The servers were all friendly to us and the restaurant was clean. Everyone of us completely finished our meals, satisfied and replenished. My tatoo looked and my body felt great. The only sad part of the evening was when I boarded the bus back to Burlington, knowing that I lived 50 kilometres away from my newest discovery. Let me promulgate it here, today, that I will be back!

Probably a 3.9! The ambience and affordability lived up to the hype. The food and flavours…. almost! We ordered the vegan noodle and the lemongrass tofu with rice, which were very very good! Hearty flavours, lots of fresh vegetables, it felt homemade. The leftovers the next day were even better (the portion sizes are huge so 2 dishes for 2 people WILL give you leftovers). What surprised me most was the popular steamed rice roll - it didn’t work for us! I didn’t enjoy the flavour and I found the texture of the steamed roll to be too slimy. Service was very kind and friendly - save for a small confusing moment where the staff asked us if we wanted the bills while we were in the middle of eating (no empty plates or dishes). All in all, would return to try some of their other menu items and give this place another shot.

Pretty good prices, the veggie pho was tasty, but not extraordinary. The $1 upgrade to large size is enough to feed a small village. Nice spot for a casual meal, much appreciated that it's vegan. Very well suited for non-vegans to eat there too!

FULL OF FLAVOR! Very authentic aromatic flavored dishes! First time trying this place. The entire place is VEGAN!! A nice variety including banh mi, soups, sides, desserts, coffees etc. My order - my and my friend shared all the items. We got lemongrass tofu banh mi + curry vermicelli + classic vegetarian pho. I got the small portion and it was very filling. Ambience - a cute cozy, pretty on the inside type of place. Friendly staff and we got our food within 10 mins of order. Not too crowded during late lunch (2pm)

Good for vegan food! The broth is super flavourful, and the spring rolls are great too. Portions are big and food comes out fast. This place also charges for using credit but accepts debit payments!

Happy to have all vegan menu. Giving 3 stars for food because 1) temperature of the soup of the noodles was only lukewarm. Why wasn’t it hot?! I see another customer also complained about this in their review. 2) Coffee only lukewarm and small, not worth $6. Overall food felt just “ok”. Strengths: 1) Thai cocktail very good. 2) fresh rolls with avocado and tofu very good.

I must say that we only found out that this was a fully vegan place when we were already in. Anyways, it was an absolutely pleasant experience and I would definitely visit again. Healthy, authentic and delicious dishes and I'm saying that as someone who has visited Vietnam. Their Pho is great and their tofu is just fantastic. So, even if you love meat, give this place a try. It's worth it.

Vietnamese food is one of my all time favorites— I’ve spent time in Vietnam and regularly enjoy the cuisine! With that backdrop, I was—in all honesty— not sure what to expect about vegan Vietnamese…but the rating were high, so I gave it a shot! SOOOO happy I did! The food is DELICIOUS! They have creative ways of adding ingredients that you might not typically see in pho, in a way that really brings out a rich broth and wonderful classic flavors that are spot on! Though I am not vegan, I am always trying vegan meals— and this is the best vegan meal I’ve ever tried! 🔥🔥🔥 Exceptional work Saigon Lotus! The high ratings are VERY well deserved! Hope to eat here again! 😄🙏🏽

This was awesome and also affordable! My girlfriend and I had an awesome lunch for about $45 CA (after tip) and walked away stuffed. We had butter “chicken” poutine, dumplings, and a bahn mi each. The food came out fast, although the bill was slower. The one potential downside was that the music was pretty loud acoustic versions of pop songs.

I’ve never been to a vegan/vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant before but I am very happy I tried Saigon Lotus. The people working here are very helpful and kind. On a Saturday night, there was a lot of people ordering takeout and the every table was full. I had the vermicelli bowl and a tarp bubble tea made with coconut milk. It was absolutely lovely.

My sisters and I ordered delivery from here. My sister enjoyed her noodle soup as well as her tofu fresh salad roll. I generally like my mango sticky rice however it needed more coconut and the sticky rice wasn’t as sweet as I’m used to when I get mango sticky rice at other restaurants.

Very calming atmosphere in this restaurant! Giving this place 5 stars for the great flavour in all of the food and the ridiculously good Vietnamese coffee, which is also vegan, so it’s perfect for anyone lactose free! The coffee was so good, I had two cups within 15 minutes and after I swear I could see god.

Delicious, good portions and SO much flavour! You’ll enjoy this even if you aren’t vegan or vegetarian. The soup (Small) were good sized portion and left feeling extremely full. There was so much flavour in each bite of Bun Bo Hue that it surprised me. Also - must try the fresh smoothies as well - the kiwi one tasted just like eating a kiwi (no added syrups, powders etc that many smoothie places include).

Vegan vietnamese food that looks amazing and tastes delicious!! I got the Pad Thai Lemongrass Tofu-Seitan & BBQ Vegan Meat, and was honestly so surprised that the vegan meat tasted exactly like real meat! The pad thai tasted a bit sweet and “tomato-y” which I found quite enjoyable, but the vegan meat really stole the show for me ^_^ The portion size was perfect for its price, and service was pretty quick at bringing out our food (although we went at a relatively quiet time). The only minor con was that it was a bit hard to get the waitress’ attention. Lastly, the interiors were stunning! I loved how the ceiling had a painted sky and how there were many decorations on the walls :))

Love the cozy dining space infused with Buddhism influence. Place was bustling with patrons. There are enough tables to seat ~50-60 ppl (yes it doesn’t look that big but trust me). Digital menu! Food was delicious! Highly recommend the Bún Bò Huế noodle soup (#20) and the Spicy Lemongrass Tofu & BBQ Vegan Meat and Vegetarian Spring Roll vermicelli (#24) and the Spicy Jicama Peanut fresh rolls (#3). Prices were vegan-ly priced (slightly in the low mid range). 🔔 2 service alerts: (1) place is very busy so hard to wave down a staff to order (but once you do, they are very attentive), (2) facility requires stairs and does not have handicap ramp.

  • 5/5 Jagdeep J. 8 months ago on Google
Went here for a meal in the middle of the day. There are a few steps that lead up to it so it's not wheelchair accessible. The bathroom is also a flight of stairs down. The food was fantastic. It was really well flavoured. We had banh mi, the special rice and vermicelli. I think the vermicelli dish was a better deal based off price and flavour. The special rice, though year was a bit dry.

Great vegan spot in Kengsinton market with lots of delicious options. They ran out of the vegan "egg" noodles for the ramen, but the dish was still superc delicious. Their banh mi and other dishes were also worth it! I wanted to try their other dishes, but had ordered too much food already. Will surely come back.

I dined in and honestly most of the food was pretty bland and lacking in complex flavour, too one-note. I was disappointed as the reviews were great. Here’s what I got: - Vegan combo 1 ($14) with bbq chicken (4/5 tasty and good texture), caramel chicken (3/5 kinda bland but good texture), and sweet and sour tofu (5/5 crispy, flavourful, my fav) - Vegan butter chicken with rice ($16) 3.5/5 spicy but very one note. Not much chicken mostly potatoes. - Exotic fried rice ($16) 2.5/5 very bland, did not make it spicy like we asked, but had lots of vegg meats and vegetables - Thai iced tea ($5) 2/5 very watered down weak flavour. Could barely taste vegan condensed milk and it wasn’t thick at all. Overall 3/5, service was decent but the food was a letdown. I wouldn’t go again or recommend them unless you’re okay with weak flavours.

An incredible gem of a vegan Vietnamese restaurant. I got the curry with root vegetables and my wife got the classic Pho. My mind was honestly blown. I didn't think it was possible to create such wonderful broths that are totally vegan. The salad rolls were also impeccably fresh... probably the best I've had with those as well. Highly recommended! I was only visiting the city, but will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Always prejudiced against Vegan food and it was confounded today at Saigon Lotus. Absolutely brilliant food. We had the 20 and the 28 and didn’t leave a speck of food particle behind. There were only 2 waitresses when we went in to a packed restaurant but not a single moment did we feel ignored. Fantastic service.
