We paid $170 for the most ridiculous room I have ever seen. I'm pretty sure they scammed us, we were going to mention something but decided we would just count our losses, It was literally a nightmare. the check-in was an hour. The lady doesn't speak any English and is non stop asking you questions in broken English. Our room wasn't cleaned before hand so on top of the long check in we had to wait for them to clean the room. The whole place has paper thin walls, if anyone is using the stairs the entire building will hear you. The room was basically a closet, and that's being generous. I couldn't even close the bathroom door while sitting on the toilet. After paying I considered just sleeping in the car it was that bad. A shared airbnb would be cheaper and better.

I IMPLORE you not to stay here. As a single, young, quiet woman who paid to stay and was nice from the onset, I was completely and utterly harassed. I was polite but kept to myself. By being polite it was taken as an invite for the staff to try to get in to the room while I was changing, disturbing and harassing notes under the door, a MULTITUDE of texts in which were non stop in the middle of the night. So bad so that I had to leave in the middle of the night.

Arrived at the location we booked at and, similar to other reviews, were directed to a different location which is not only odd but felt incredibly sketchy. When we arrived, we spent about 20 minutes discussing with the woman at the front booth about our booking and she had to call multiple people for some reason, even though we had booked online and it should have been pretty straightforward. It seemed like they just had a piece of paper with names and room numbers written down that hung on a door. Once we got to the room, there were quite a few issues that didn't seem reasonable for the price we payed. Like there was no toilet paper holder, there was writings on the walls from previous tenants in sharpie, I don't think the windows are up to fire safety codes because even as a pretty slim woman, I don't think I'd be able to get out of the window if there were a fire. The bed was like a futon mattress, which was expected. There was a large list of rules posted at the door that listed there was no smoking, but clearly that is not enforced because our room reeked of cigarettes. I would recommend bringing headphones to sleep with as the rooms aren't very soundproof. If you do plan on showering, make sure to not leave anything of the bathroom floor because it will get soaked since the shower curtain doesn't seem to actually keep the water in the shower. Just a heads up! I will say, it did seem quite clean, cleaner than some lower end hotels I've been to which is probably the only saving grace.

The cleaner (?) smoking outside thought it was appropriate to start ranting about Black Lives Matter protests... to my black boyfriend. She said 'black lives matter what does that even mean? I say white lives matter and people get angry at me' We then had to phone the owner on a weird phone outside. Him and his wife were shouting numbers at me, with no explanation. VERY aggressively. We managed to work out what he meant with the help of the cleaner. One number was the code for the door, one was our room number. The check-in was disgraceful and we felt too unsafe to complain in-person. The room smelt like cigarettes, and the whole place looked like a squat. I'd give it 0 stars if I could. Good location though.

It will get the job done but I recommend almost anywhere else. Most of the other reviews are true. Checking in was simple because the person just found my name on a sheet. My room includes a cot, toilet, and shower. It didn’t appear as if the room or linen was cleaned beforehand. Ultimately, bring things you are comfortable with cleaning and laying on if that is of interest to you. It is not nearly worth the price it is listed either. Bonuses: It’s located in a great area, the individual who checked me in and out was kind, and there was a standing fan.

Don’t go here. It’s non refundable for a reason. You pre pay, and then when you get there it smells bad and is very unclean and then they will refuse refund due to you “using the room” aka, walking in, being grossed out, and leaving. Had to book alternative accommodations and now I will have to reach out to my credit provider to get me my money back.

Avoid if you can. Only stay as a last resort. Definitely not worth the money. Check-in procedure was to call someone, wait 30 minutes, then be relocated to a different street/building. WIFI didn't work most of the time, shower didn't work properly, was located in a very shady side street, sheets were clean, rest of the room wasn't.

Very unclean place. There was a mouse/rat in my room and these intelligent business owners decided to do nothing about it. This is unacceptable standards and would never happen with AIRBNB. Had a refund happened or half my stay refunded I would of still never booked here again, but would not have left a horrible review. Arrogant property owners, to think this is normal as well. Last thing I'll add is false advertising. Room says 120sqft, but its a lie. It's literally 60-sqft. Also, constant smell of cigarettes in the building. Will be calling my credit card company for a stop payment and flag the place as unsanitary to Toronto pest control.

It looks a bit rundown and scary from the outside, and instructions can be unclear. The lady working it now has her hands full, but she is trying her best with four locations. My room was small and I could hear people down the hall, but that is dependent on other guests. It was clean and enough for a one-person stay. A hotel site tried to rip me off. Cheapest rate is actually $125 per night.

Worst place I have ever stayed in! Leftovers of a condom packaging on the floor. The blanket had a big spot of urine. Hairs in the smallest bathroom i have ever seen... Not even close to be worth the 65$ we paid for it. Avoid this place at all costs!

Good staff. The lady who dropped in to find keys for my stay was gracious and kind. A relatively clean, warm and safe place to crash for a night. Not much in the way of kitchens. Plenty of hot water, a bit of noise, though that's expected since Dundas is outside. Thing is, negotiate before doing any jobs for management. Mike asked me to install a toilet seat cover for 20 bucks. I did it. Then he tried to haggle it down to 2. Mike never did pay for the service.

We got to the location. We were supposed to have a double bedroom with two separate beds. We got here and they were trying to scam us into cancelling our hotel reservation online and paying them cash $200 more. I asked to see the room and it’s full of roaches and the room hasn’t been cleaned from previous renters. We live out of town and have nowhere else lined up to go. Thankfully hotels.com is relocating us at no extra charge

Stayed here because it was the only "affordable" option left downtown but the quality of the rooms should make this place cost way less. Our experience wasn't as horrible as others but I definitely felt like I was scraping the bottom of the barrel when I got there. I was redirected to a different location (2 blocks down), the room was not what I booked but it got the job done. It was cleaner than I expected but you could tell they don't take care of the place aside from cleaning it for the next person. For example the towel rack in the bathroom had two ends without the plastic rod that holds the towel. They totally could have gone to like home depot and gotten a replacement rod but nope, it's just a useless space on the wall and there was nowhere to hang a towel. So VERY LITTLE EFFORT goes into these rooms, they're just trying to make money and do the bare minimum. Also there were a lot of tiny black bugs on the floor, I eventually just stopped looking down because I was so uncomfortable by them. And the mattresses were like soft rocks, not comfortable at all.

Room was very nice, shower was hot and lots of pressure. Beds are soft, and the management was very prompt.

Simple and plain but spotless and safe. Not luxury (not the Trump hotel of course) but clean, safe and quiet. Certainly up to health and safety city by-laws and beyond . The host was a lovely woman. For only $5.00 more she gave me a private bathroom and not shared .Lockers in.the room but bring your own lock. They meet you at the door to get your ID. Great security. Crackheads need not apply . You wont get in . Nice area too. Far exceeded my expectations. Great value. I would come back in a heartbeat .

This place was decent I cant complain much, for 70$ you have a place to stay, wash up and go on with your day, the washrooms were fairly clean, which I can appreciate, location Is prime if your trying to explore downtown. But again I only booked 1 night, I would recommend booking a more upscale place if your staying more then 2 days, this establishment is simply for people who are on a budget and aren't picky. You get what you pay for.

You get what you pay for: a bed and a tiny bathroom. Poor sound insulation. The location is great. The crew was super nice.

This place is a scam. Charged way more than expected, unclear direction about the room, no one would answer our phone call. Disgusting. avoid at all costs.

Please avoid this place! We‘ve booked online, knowing not to expect the most luxurious accommodation since it’s a low-budget „hostel“. However this place was the worst hostel experience I‘ve ever had. Not only were the hosts rude but also very unorganised. The check-in took more than 20 min and staff didn’t even find our booking. The room was very dirty, had no windows and the toilet & shower didn’t work properly. In general we felt very unsafe in this sketchy place!

Just overall horrible experience. The rooms where small. In the main room was a hole in the wall where the AC just lays in closed of with towels. The small in suite bath has a leaky shower a loud toilet and no sink. The beds are squeaky and uncomfortable. also the building doesn't have any sound isolation so you hear everything that moves. There also is basically no wifi. Even when you get it it is really slow. Also the barely English speaking Chinese landlord is really scammy. She tried to get 220 dollars more after we already payed our 4 nights infront. She also locked us out of the room. Until we would pay. Only after I threatened to call the cops she gave in and gave us our stuff and room back.

The surprising cleanliness kept this review up to 3 stars. Spotless floors, and only the occasional bugs you would expect to see in the middle of a big city. NO BED BUGS!! If you need a cheap, safe, clean bed for a night or two, and that's all you need, this is your place. Pay attention to the code posted over the door handle. It changes regularly, which it should for safety reasons, but they don't tell you when they change it. They'll just post the new one. "Private washroom" means there is a toilet and a homemade shower in the room, no sink, so you have to wash your hands in the shower after you use the toilet. No kitchen, but microwave in the hallway. Mini fridge keeps food chilled, but not food-safe. I kept some carrots and opened jars for pbj's just fine, but any leftovers I left in the fridge were spoiled by morning. There was a giant hole in the outer wall of my room just stuffed with towels and covered over with plastic. Wind blew through it all night. I think it's just that room, though. Biggest room for improvement: the wifi. Either have wifi or don't have it, having 3 terrible networks that don't actually connect to the internet doesn't count. The couple times I was able to connect to the internet during my stay I couldn't even watch one YouTube video. If it's that bad, just save your money and don't provide wifi.

Scam!! Beware!!! This is a place for the desolate low income types. Location hosts unruly disturbing guests. Run down area, management only cares about taking your money!!

Terribly overpriced best to use credit card or debit as cash value is not translated. 120 per night anx according to hose.jp to 300 per night during the weekend. Looks more like a 60 per night kind of guest house. Individual rooms and no dorms. Get ready to feel scrutinized and or denied if coming in from the street.

I had booked this place via @bookings.com. They redirected to a new place just the morning we were supposed to be checking inn. Just some other place not similar to any to the pictures on the website. Do not visit i did not even checked in to the room still was not given full refund. I had paid $112 and they refunded me $33 after a week. Had to check in other hotel in emergency which costed me double.

Expensive, misleading, and self-centred. I would give this place *negative* stars if I could. Tried cancelling a booking within *minutes* of paying and the owner greets me with disrespect and attitude. Like other reviews have mentioned, this place is VERY unprofessional, money oriented, and rude. I was expected to pay a "cancellation fee;" the cost of the entire trip! It took 2 Expedia agents to have the owner lower the fee to 2 nights. If you want a relaxing trip where there aren't random fees and fine print on everything, DO NOT book here.

When I arrived I was told that my room was double booked, and that I had no reservation. I had to find somewhere else to stay. I have not been given a refund so I lost all the money for the room. Expedia was unable to get the money from the hotel for me either.
