Friendly staff, some more organized than others. Know what your getting into , this is not a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately the only rooms available where smoke rooms but besides that it was a great experience. Small rooms but cozy for a single person. Clean room/bathroom nothing to complain about. For the price and location right on Queens you cannot go wrong. Just be wary of the area and the type of hotel you are booking and you should have a decent experience. Wouldn't mind staying again in the future, I've stayed in much worse.

The rooms are super small. The bathroom door cannot open all the way as it hits the bathroom sink. The carpets are dirty and the wallpaper was peeling. There is no mini fridge, and I think the window air conditioner was most likely from the late 70s and did not cool down the room...at all. No air circulation made it stuffy. It should have been $50 per night, and not $150. The staff, however, were very friendly and courteous

When I arrived I waited half and hour with no one around in sight at about 6:30. After half an hour someone finally wondered in to check me into my room, which should have been the first flag and I should have just left and got a new hotel but I was exhausted from traveling all day and it was late. After checking in they they point me to my room on the 3rd floor - which they don’t have elevators only stairs. Someone did help me carry my luggage up to my room which was on a smoking floor -the only one they had available apparently- but again because I was so tired I wanted to just sleep. I then go into the room and it was smaller than a European hotel room, just enough room for the bed and and little side table and a tiny desk about 2 feet away from the foot of the bed and then walls like it looked like a giant crib room because right by the bed was the walls you had to squeeze in the bed from the one open side you can fit through, no room to unfold luggage flat just standing room. It was freezing outside so I turned off the ac wall unit which was very loud and creeky, and it didn’t adjust at all on or off and in one spot. I fell asleep and eventually woke up from being so hot. I put the strong ac on and even then it didn’t counteract the heater that was permanently on pumping very hot air. The room was so small and stuffy and hot and I was feeling sick from the smell of cigarettes around me that I had to check out and get a new hotel after staying for a total of 4 hours. Also the two vending machines they offered -drinks and snack- only the drink one worked. The two employees I dealt with at the desk were not rude but very aloof and not at all welcoming but I will say the woman working for their house keeping is gold and she was the highlight of the whole experience. I actually decided to start reviewing because of how bad this hotel was. And I guess it wasn’t really that bad like it wasn’t super dirty or have bugs it was just super mediocre and disappointing and not what I expected from the pictures or from a business especially in hospitality today or even 10,15 years ago. At least the room and lobby did -appear- to be decently clean at least it was tidy and the sheets did not smell like smoke or anything bad and they do give you like 5 huge pillows for the queen bed I had which I actually really appreciated I love lots of pillows. They did also have free WiFi which wasn’t super slow but there was some waiting time. Overall would definitely skip this one unless it was the only option

I've stayed at this hotel twice now; two summers ago and this past weekend. During my first stay, the room was fairly run-down and definitely needed to be renovated. However, the service was still good and I never felt unsafe. During my stay this past weekend, I was pleasantly surprised - especially since I had read reviews from this past month that gave me the impression things would be worse compared to my last stay. However, my room (on the first floor) had clearly be recently renovated and was actually beautiful for the price. In addition, I received good customer service again and overall, had a pleasant experience. All and all, even though this hotel does not appear to have the best reviews, I would definitely stay here again.

There is no parking to start with. Wrong picture of room, room size was so small as per the money we payed ($89)for one night stay. Air conditioning was not working, literally had to open the window to breathe,as the room was really small and suffocating. The biggest surprise was to see double bed verses queen size. Asked to upgrade, staff asked for $70 extra. Really an unpleasant experience. Similar kind of money, better rooms were available elsewhere. Breakfast is just chewy bagels, juice and coffee. Terrible..very disappointed.

It was horrible. The room had a bad smell and the bathroom smelled strongly of mould, because the ceiling was covered in it, and so was the shower, which was also broken. Because the air conditioner didn't seem to be working very well, we removed the front panel and found a thick sheet of dust and again, black mould. There was wallpaper peeling off of the walls and most of the room had not been cleaned in a while as evident by the piles of dust and dead insects. The room was not at all like the picture on the screen when we booked. Besides the filth and disrepair, it was tiny with hardly any space to move around the beds and no place to put a suitcase. This is the type of place I'd expect to pay $5 for in a developing country (then leave and find another place to stay), not $150 for in a Canadian city. Do not stay here.

This was a great budget hotel right downtown, perfect for going to a concert at Budweiser Stage. Our group had 2 rooms on the first floor, and one on the second. The rooms on the first floor were a great size and had fridges, the one upstairs was very small with one double bed and no fridge (but was a much cheaper rate). The rooms were clean and the beds were more comfortable than my new bed at home!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 days while in town for a business meeting back in October 2014. This hotel is in a quieter neighborhood with a few interesting restaurants just down the streets. I found the staff pleasant and helpful. The room was nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. My window faced the street car yard on the West side of the building. Generally the room was very quiet during my stay. It is far from downtown (1 hour walk or 30 min street car). It is however in a good location if you are looking for something out of the way and cheaper. In summary, this hotel suited my needs for brief business travel. I would visit again.

It was unique. Be advised the rooms are small but for the price they were clean and comfortable. Sadly the area has many drug users and street people begging for money. I do not advise elderly or people with young children to be here. Be warned it is three story hotel and they have NO ELEVATORS!!!! Parking is a block away. There is a heavy Police presence! The staff was helpful and pleasant. Access to public transportation is wonderful.

Came here with my wife a few years back just making the post now we overall had a good experience it's not a four-star hotel and we ordered a smoking room to top it all off so we knew off the bat we weren't going to get the most cleanliness of things but for our price and for how it was well worth it staff were also on the ball they were willing to provide answers to all our questions and help us when we needed it even in the wee hours of the morning when we kept going in and out for walks overall great experience

Pretty good hotel, outside may be dezeving but the inside isn't to bad. Very little parking space, minutes walking to Lake Ontario for a great view and a walk. We stayed here for a week pretty good service. Wish they had more breakfast options.. transportation location is awesome street cars and buses seconds outside the door and some pretty well restaurants near by and if you don't like the restaurants there is a McDonald's within few seconds of walking distance. The hotel is also affordable we stayed for a week cause of personal benefits and other then the pet fee charge it was reasonable pricing

Alright experience. Rooms was smaller than expected which was okay but the air conditioner was an old model and wasn't working well barely any cold air blowing. The staff was friendly which was comforting. Would given it 5 star but the issues with the room being smaller than advertise and Ac issues still a wonderful stay would differently think about staying there again

The rooms were very small and the furniture had seen better days. The bathroom tub had chipped painting and the alarm clock looks like it was from the 90s. On the bright side, it was clean and tidy. We only spent the night there so it was cheap and served its purpose but I wouldn't use it for much more than that.
