Beautiful boat, cozy atmosphere. Boatel treats you well, and is a true home away from home! A unique place to stay when visiting Toronto, I highly recommend Boatel!

We came across Diane and Ted’s unusual bed and breakfast while looking for lodging for two nights in Toronto. Super experience. The Boatel is such a fun and different place to stay in the heart of downtown. Walking distance to the CN Tower, stadium, museums, and great restaurants. Nothing like sitting on the deck in the late afternoon enjoying a drink and a fine hors d'oeuvres prepared by Diane for their guests. Hard to imagine doing that at any other accommodation in the middle of a large city. Diane and Ted are superb hosts. They let us use their bikes one afternoon to explore the Toronto islands. Since you are staying on a boat, expect a small bedroom and bath, but the living and dining areas are plenty spacious. Highly recommended

What a wonderful stay! As soon as we boarded we were greeted by the owners of the boat and shown around. Sitting on the water with an amazing view of downtown on the quiet waterfront was the best way to spend our honeymoon. The rooms are obviously not the size of a hotel, but the beds themselves are very comfortable. Greeted with breakfast and a coffee to start the day. Just amazing.

My boyfriend and I spent three days and two nights at this awesome b&b! Diane and Ted were very friendly, great to chat with and had a lot of knowledge about what was going on in the Toronto area. Diane cooked a great breakfast every morning and was accommodating to our dietary needs which is always appreciated. Overall awesome experience! Drew and I will definitely be back next time we're in Toronto! :) Ana and Drew

Staying aboard for a third Indy race weekend in a row. Think that says volumes. Fantastic rate for a 65 foot yacht B&B, located at the heart of Toronto's waterfront. The breakfasts are 5 star Michelin, the accommodations top notch and the Hosts are absolutely wonderful people. Frankly I was torn about writing a review out of purely selfish reasons. I'll be rebooking my cabin for next year's race but don't want competition for it ;)

Great location with breathtaking view to the tower, Great service, Great Breakfast, Great concept – all in all a great experience. Thanks Diane for a wonderful stay. We can recommend a tour in the kayak. Note that the space in the cabins is moderate - so think about this when packing (but there is space for luggage on the boat).

Boatel ... what an Attraction in itself located on the Waterfront right in the Toronto Harbourfront area. This spacious 'boat' is so beautiful and cozy in itself. The Hosts (Owner/Operator) are Fantastic, Welcoming, Passionate about their services, Resourceful and act as very great tourism consultants to make sure you maximize your stay with them depending of what you feel like visiting in the Great Toronto Area. The breakfasts on the BOATel are 'creative', made meticulously and very tasty. The atmosphere on the boat and its location are awesome, second to none, and best accommodations in the City. You feel like a million dollar on Diane and Ted's boat. Sleeping area is well accommodated, they thought of everything to make this stay a UNIQUE Experience for their clientele.

Making Waves Boatel was a wonderful change from staying in an enormous hotel in the city. The accommodations were comfortable and the hosts, Diane and Ted were welcoming and created a personalized environment. Breakfast was always great. Diane takes into consideration any preferences and dietary needs. Breakfast and coffee on aft deck chatting with other guests is SO much nicer than sitting in a busy restaurant. If you've never slept on a boat, be prepared for the small cabin but don't be put off by it, you'll sleep great with the gentle rocking. The location was amazing! The marina where they are docked is within a park loaded with people biking, walking, and running. It's hard to believe the "city" is on the other side of the trees and bushes. Still, you are a 10 minutes walk to the Rogers Centre and a few decent restaurants. You are also only about 30 minutes walk to Chinatown or the St. Lawrence Market. All in all, if we ever make it back to Toronto, we would never stay anywhere else. Thanks Ted and Diane for your hospitality πŸ˜€

Diane and Ted were the best hosts possible. They make you feel like it is your home without it being too much. they tell you about all the opportunities you want to hear about in Toronto. They are amazing and welcoming. They acomodations are what a boat can offer, lovely. The breakfasts are breathtakingly good. and beautiful too.

My husband and I spent our 35th anniversary at Making Waves Boatel and couldn't have made a better choice. Diane and Ted provide the perfect Bed & Breakfast experience with a memorable twist. What fun to spend a few days on a boat in a harbor that's just a few minutes walk from fabulous restaurants, shopping, the CN Tower and the Hop-on-Hop-off tour bus. If you are new to Toronto, these hosts will make you feel completely at home on their boat and in the city. We parked our car and forgot about it. Breakfasts were delicious and Diane is generous with both her time and recipes. This is an experience not to be missed.

One of the best choices in our travels has been the repeated experience we have enjoyed at the Boatel. Diane is the ultimate casual hostess with breakfasts you will long remember. Ted is as professional and knowledgeable a captain as you will find on any waters and you will be delighted by the sense of humor and joy in living they both share with their guests. In addition, Ted and Diane have extensive experience and vast information about the best restaurants, shopping, and area attractions. Accommodations are surprisingly spacious as Ted and Diane are sharing their HOME with you... and you feel it. When we really want to get away, the Boatel is our idea of escape.
