We checked in last night at room 605 and still here as I type this review. My wife has extreme sensitivity to dust and her body starts itching and throws up rashes all over. It is for this very reason that we selected a branded hotel assuming cleanliness will not be something we need to worry. However, unlocking the room told us we are in for a long haul. The carpets had VISIBLE dust, leave alone dust that builds up overtime. Needless to say, rashes started showing up all over my wife's body. We called front desk looking for replacement room, but they had none. We asked them to get it cleaned but they said housekeeping is not available after 3 pm. We had to put on the AC and had to remain outside of room for couple of hours. Upon return, they did say room was vacuumed but I guess that was all done superficially as dust was still there (I have pictures). Staff did offer full refund if we decided to book elsewhere, but it was too late by then. So we had no choice but to stay put this night. Our other disappointments so far are: 1. No disposable slippers (we requested but still waiting) 2. No wardrobes (we got now on request) 3. No shampoo, body wash, and conditioner (had to request refills) 4. No paper towels in rooms 5. No sticks to mix creamer and sugar in coffee We are booked for five nights in all. So, I hope they do a better job at housekeeping today and fulfil our pending requests to make our stay bearable. I will come up with my follow up review again.

My son had a hockey tournament in the area, and this is where our hockey team stayed during the tournament. I first have to mention the staff. The staff were kind and attentive. It was a busy weekend and they were able to process all of the clients quickly and efficiently. They were accommodating and tried within their abilities to satisfy any additional requests. The location was perfect for our tournament. We were situated right off of the 404, and had quick commutes to all of our arenas. There were lots of food choices near the hotel as well as Costco's and grocery stores for those eating in room. If I could touch on a negative though, the rooms were a bit small. The hotel is older but has been updated. Due to the small rooms, the mini fridge in the rooms were extremely mini and there wasn't copious amounts of space to move around. My family was a family of four and the double queen bed room was pretty cramped. For two people, that type of room would be adequate, but four people, just too small. Another thing I wanted to touch on is the room service standards now....I'm thinking because of COVID, but now the hotel told us rooms would not be cleaned unless we indicated we wanted it clean. Also, for four people, there isn't enough towels in the room , we had to constantly head down to the front desk and request more towels. We stayed at the hotel for three days, it would have been nice if the rooms were checked, at least every two days to see if they needed refreshing. The last thing I wanted to discuss is the parking. If you are renting a room at a hotel, I don't think parking should be an extra charge. I'm from the north, and I realize that Southern Ontario is different, but paying extra for parking while renting a room is fundamentally wrong, in my mind.... Bottom line, the hotel is nice, and the staff is on point. For an older hotel, the rooms have been updated but are on the small side for four people. I think rooms should be cleaned more regularly if people have extended stays and customers should not have to pay extra to park...

Great location just a short drive up the 404 from the 401, quiet modern rooms, comfortable beds, and staff who were cheerful and customer-service oriented (something that I don't take for granted nowadays!). Parking is cheap and super convenient and there's a great Indian restaurant just a 5 minute walk up the road, and I felt very safe walking in the neighbourhood even though it's industrial. Nice pool and gym that are very clean. As a suggestion, a hot-tub and sauna would have been great. The conference room facilities looked top-notch too from what I could see. Will be back and would definitely recommend.

Typically always a good value. Stayed here a handful of times over the last year. Due to its cheaper price I find sports teams (kids) come here which they create a bit more noise but nothing that upset me. Staff is great and they got a nice coffee bistro bar and nice lounge area. Bedrooms are clean as they should be!

Nice place, bit more business focussed. Giant parking garage in back. You really cannot walk anywhere from this hotel, it is a suburban wasteland around it. They could use to do a bit more deep cleaning of the rooms - see photo of the shower transition in our room.

This property and the staff are successful in providing comfortable and restful status. They are attention to their guests from the check to, provided free extras, to breakfast service, to housekeeping and amenities. Check out is simple and efficient. There's quick service through the phone and front desk.

Fast internet for working; clean pool; covered parking; convenient location; best housekeeping I have seen during Covid. Staff and managers are super responsive. Too bad there’s no free coffee in the lobby. We enjoyed our one-week stay

Currently, I am staying at a hotel for three nights and hope that the management will address my concerns and provide a resolution. I would like to give them a five-star rating if their service improves. As a Marriott member, I requested an early check-in, but the front desk informed me that the room was not ready. The front desk assured me that they would inform me when the room became available, but after waiting until 3 pm, the front desk girl finished her shift and left without notifying me. Eventually, the front desk guy checked me in after 3:30 pm. The room assigned to me had a queen-sized bed with visibly unchanged sheets, as can be seen in the attached picture. The staff explained that they were understaffed, which raised the question of why they did not hire more staff when the hotel was fully booked. As my family had booked another room in the same hotel, I cannot check out. I am hoping that I will receive clean sheets tomorrow. On a positive note, I requested a microwave, and after following up twice, someone was sent to my room with a microwave. Initially, they directed me to use the one in the main lobby, but after some discussion, they provided me with a microwave for my room. I will update my review after my stay, depending on the quality of service provided.

Great hotel with modern rooms and conference rooms. Nice lounge area with a bistro (obviously overpriced, but in par with hotel pricing). Service is pretty good but can be slow. Our room had no shampoo when we arrived and someone had to come fill the dispenser for us but ended up walking in the shower with dirty shoes. Also, none of the bathroom doors lock.

Worst one ever. The front desk didn’t ask my choice about the welcome gift and directly chose for me. The front desk also questioned about my card, while such a thing never happened in all hotels under Marriott which I’ve been, even in their top brands. Towel inside is dirty (2 of them) and even have a hair on. The shampoo was almost finished and the body wash is completely empty, had to ask them for refills in the middle of my shower. The reply in app is slow and the housekeeper didn’t follow the instructions I left through the app. Don’t try to convince me that “this is only a courtyard, you can’t expect awesome services here”, I’ve been to other courtyard for multiple times and their services are better at EVERYTHING than this one even when I was not even an elite member. This is totally a terrible experience. Tbh you may need to train your front desk again.

I'm so glad that Google ask me to review this. The front staff of this hotel or spectacular and reminding me of the good old-fashioned service you used to get. They always smiled. They always stopped what they were doing to serve me and they did it with a smile. I have stayed here quite a few times and while most places after the pandemic have gone downhill, this place is risen to the occasion. Great job! Keep it up. I look forward to staying there again.

I spent 4 nights here in November. I was pleased with the efficient and friendly service at the front desk, the king room was very nice. The hallways got pretty noisy at times but the was not the fault of the hotel. The hotel is easily accessible. Parking (you pay) was good. All in all a good stay.

I would not recommend this hotel. I experienced a lack of communication from staff which was a bit disappointing. Upon checkout when asked how the stay was the lady at the front acted like “ it was ok” was the absolute best thing we could say. It would have been nice if we were asked what could have been done better.

The bathroom amenities are not accessible for visually impaired guests. The font colour against the bottle colour on the body wash/shampoo/conditioner was difficult to distinguish between and there was no brail on the bottles. Other than that it's a clean, safe space to spend the night.

Good service! The rooms and bathrooms are clean and beds are comfortable, however; you have to wake up early for the breakfast because if you go at 8a.m it's probably that you won't find anything. My family and I really liked the hotel. This will be our number one opinion when we come back to Toronto.

Had a very pleasant overnight stay with my young kids. Check-in and check-out were both very easy, staff was very friendly and helpful (one of my kids got stuck alone in an elevator for a moment, and although we resolved it on our own there was someone waiting in the lobby to make sure everyone was ok, which we really appreciated). The indoor pool was lots of fun, rooms were clean and comfortable for the evening, parking was ample, location was great for our purposes. We would stay there again in the future.

Great location with quick access to highways, shopping and amenities. Earlier in our trip, we stayed at a different kind of Marriott that didn't comprehend that 1 cup of coffee in the room is not enough for 2 grown adults, and it was refreshing to see that this room had a full coffee supply. The staff were friendly, helpful, and energetic, the pool was great, and this particular hotel has the largest gym I've seen in any hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Nice room, clean and newish. The elevators are pretty slow but no big deal. The best about this hotel is the location. You can easily access to tons of restaurants and malls. Very close to the highway so easy to go anywhere .

Fabulous stay. Staff were fantastic. The Bistro Bar was so convenient and the food was very good. Beds are SO comfortable, I may have a problem returning to my own bed! Huge selection of restaurants in the area. Great place to stay.

This is our second stay at this lovely gem of a hotel/apartment. We have stayed in the apartment each time as we needed a family suite. I love everything about this hotel. The location and service are excellent. The affordability is a great value. The breakfast is hearty always good. The staff is very accommodating and customer focused. It’s a well kept secret and I will always stay here when in Budapest.

We had a wonderful experience at this Courtyard. The front desk staff were amazing, the pool is huge (definitely the biggest we have had at a hotel by 2-3×), and if you can get the breakfast included in a package, do it! The breakfast was phenomenal! Only downfall was it was very loud in the hallways and outside when we were trying to sleep (don't know if their was something going on), and would be nice to have upgraded TVs like other Marriott's I've been too and able to use our streaming services.

We got a King + Sofa bed, and the sofa bed didn’t pull out properly so we approached the front desk with our concern, and Mairi went above and beyond to make sure our needs were accommodated. She got us a different room in no time. She took the extra time to make sure our keys worked, and wanted us to let her know everything was okay after. She gave me one of the best experiences with customer service i’ve had at any hotel. She is a great person and I would stay at this hotel only for the service she provides.

Room was clean, bed comfy. Keurig coffee available. Bathroom and shower were basic. Shampoo and body wash were provided. The bathroom door couldn’t close properly and the locking mechanism was broken. Courteous service at the front desk. Solid and no frills choice of accommodation.

Very nice hotel. The rates were reasonable. There is an onsite breakfast cafe and an evening bar. It's a short walk to several other restaurants and the Owl bar. Very comfortable mattress. And a the shower head provided plenty of water with a soft flow. What else could you ask for in a mid tier hotel?

We had to find a hotel due to our Airbnb scamming us. Thankfully we found a reasonable price here and we are glad we did. The front desk staff were very kind and the hotel was immaculate. The room smells fresh and clean and we felt safe and cozy here. Laundry was $2 to wash and dry and the pool area is very clean as well. The staff at the cafe helped us in the morning, they went above and beyond and we are very thankful. If we have to stay in this area again I would definitely come back to this hotel. Great staff all around, amazingly clean space. Thank you for saving us and turning this trip around. * My only recommendation would be to have a toaster available for guests to use on their own and near the front desk.

A pretty nice hotel! Its just okay, quiet, and relaxing. Nothing extravagant. Accessible too. Clean environment. Has a restaurant but the breakfast wasn't buffet style. Overall, its okay👍.

Very convenient location, stuff were friendly and helpful. The room was all good, except 1. The wifi was so bad, it was basically unusable 70% of time. It’s a good reason enjoy the stay and not browsing cell phones 2. There is some noise coming out from the aisle or outside the parking lot. Not the best sound insulation.

We had the king bed suite with a closed bedroom. My son was sleeping on the pullout couch and it was awful. It's completely warped in the middle and I felt terrible that he had to sleep on it for 2 nights. The living area is extremely tight and the TV is facing a wall. Clean room and good service. Pool was nice as well.

An amazing stay! We usually stay at Sheraton but really loved our first stay here. Check in was smooth, room was perfect and sleek. I was impressed w the design. Service was nice. There was lots of things near by. There’s also a bar downstairs which was convenient, my fiancé & I ordered a bottle of Chardonnay. We didn’t get to try the breakfast bar there but next time for sure. While I’m initially leaving this review cause of the quality of the stay but most importantly, it’s an HONEST & SAFE hotel. I forgot my wallet as we checked out early. And noticed about an hour or two later. I phoned back and front desk paged housekeeping to check and said they’d call me back. I ended up going there and housekeeping gave my wallet to front desk. I’m honestly so thankful for Pearl who found my wallet and told me I left it by the couch which I 100% did like the klutz I am lol. Will be back for sure

I stayed there for one night and forgot my foreo face washer worth +$400 and my face cleanser also worth nearly $100. I called them the next day when I back home and recognized I had forgotten it there. I called them 3 times, and they told me to call back and I did call back. But they never cared and ignored me by telling me they would double check and call me back but there was no callback. And the last time I called they just said they didn't find anything the one who took my call didn't even ask for my room number. I am willing to just drive back and take my stuff back but they just ignore me. The stuff I forgot is not cheap for being ignore

Booked for 2 nights.Check in was fast and good. But room was very bad. The moment we enter the room both me and my wife noticed a very bad smell. Washroom was eqaully dirty, huge nasty stains on carpet, hairs everhwhere in the washroom. After 10 mins we both started feeling like dust allergy. Barely felt any ventilation in the room. Contacted front desk and lady said they were fully booked but only one other room in same category left in the entire hotel. We asked if we can check it before moving and she said we cant due to covid protocol which is understandable. We decided to get of there and booked hilton nearby. Alot cleaner and nicer and room almost double the size for few extra bucks. Expedia said we might be able to get refund for one night but will loose the other one.

This was my 2nd stay with Marriott & over all I am very satisfied with the service & stay of this location. I stayed in Courtyard by Marriott & TownePlace Suites by Marriott on this visit. The staff were all very polite, helpful & accommodating during my stay. I had to switch rooms on my 3rd night at 2am & they graciously made the process easy, and quick. Having access to Starbucks coffee in the main lobby was a wonderful touch, I aprichiate that as room coffee isn't always amazing when you travel & uber eats really adds up. Staff allowed me to request a late check out while switching rooms on Sunday, and on the day I departed which was wonderful & helpful. I am an easy going traveler, and anything I needed from the staff, they were willing & able to accommodate me on, within their capacity and control of course. There are some restrictions in place due to Covid, such as 1 person at a time in elevators or laundry room but this is not their fault! They are following provincial guidelines. There was hardly ever a line for the elevators, and if there was it moved fast! The elevators require key cards to be swiped to access your floor, as does the main door to enter the lobby after 11pm at night. As a solo female traveler this is extremely reassuring. It is an older building, so if you're noise sensitive like I am (low ambient noise) travel with ear plugs for sleeping. I loved the bathrooms in both the Courtyard & TownePlace units. The showers were spacious, and everything i needed was there. Cleaning staff didn't stock each bathroom the same (I had 3 different rooms) so some attention to those details is needed, but again, im not a fussy traveler and you can ask the front desk for extra cups, towels, soaps etc. The base of the shower needs a little cleaning attention & scrubbing around the caulking where it meets the floor, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. The hall carpet outside my last room was dirty, mostly around the room's door, and more attention to dust & dirt is needed in the rooms. However the staff could be seen working hard, and this was during a heat wave. This wasn't a major issue for me, especially with that in mind. Marriott, I loved loved loved the little hand held mirrors you provided us with on the bathroom counter of the Courtyard suites! The mirror was such a nice touch for getting ready, I was disappointed there wasn't the same set up in the TownePlace suites, but its a minor complaint. Overall I was very happy with my stay, and would book again.

This Markham hotel is located on Woodbine Ave just north of Steeles Ave E.  I dub it the Owl neighbourhood because of the Firkin Pub patio a hundred metres away.  It is rated Accessible and not Pet-friendly. Front desk staff are professional; be nice at a minimum and you’ll get that in return.  This is my second visit to this building which is jointly a TownePlace Suites as well. I'm only here to visit three guests staying in separate rooms with kitchenettes. I can't speak first-hand of the experience.  Just keeping my social distance with the COVID-19 situation and the safety of all. Courtyard by Marriott has parking, breakfast and WiFi for guests. Many amenities like the bar, restaurant, fitness centre, swimming pool + spa may not be fully opened due to COVID-19 restrictions so check first with front desk staff. Venture outside and you can experience the famous Metro Square a few kilometers east or the Bayview Golf and Country Club westward. Fore!

Lovely people. Lovely place. Check in was very smooth. Reception called after 5 minutes. We thought we forgot something but they asked if we needed anything. We just requested for a tissue box since its finished and an electric kettle. And they brought it to us in no time. Talk about customer service. The place is very clean. All the staff from housekeeping to reception were very courteous and kind. 10/10 would recommend.

Very friendly staff. The suits were spacious and clean. The staff were all very helpful and always asked if we needed anything. First two nights were great. Third night kids took over the hotel and played with the elevators. Stopping it at every floor. Playing ball in the hallway and knocking on doors. Not the hotels fault. There should be a rule that children are not allowed to roam around and parents need to have better control of their children

Nice rooms newly renovated but need some work on their service. Housekeeping for a Courtyard I would expect so much more, huge improvements are needed here, just a few things I noticed only being in the room for a few minutes, there was something sprayed across the back of the bathroom door, candy spilled under the desk that wasn't cleaned up, long black hairs in the bed sheets, dirty shower floor, soap scum/ring on shower shelf that I wiped off. They have large refillable toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and body wash) in the shower the shampoo and body wash were completely empty and I needed to call to have them refilled. Need to make sure they are fully cleaning the room and sheets, especially with COVID I would think the housekeeping would be better. WIFI for a more business hotel is terrible sooo slow. Its newly redone but already starting to see lots of wear and tear. Need to improve their maintenance and housekeeping.

One of our vehicles had the catalytic converter stolen while parked on site over night. Although there are warnings posted stating that the hotel is not responsible for theft or damages to vehicles i still think there should be better surveillance or security for the property to protect the guests. Pull out bed in our “suite” was extremely uncomfortable and dirty. Would not stay at this property again.

We stayed at this hotel while we had one of our events in Toronto, the hotel is lately renovated, staff is good but, there was a fire alarm 3:30am in the morning and it was not handled as it should, announcing on the speakers without any given instructions, fire trucks came fast, but the fire alarm went from slow to fast ringing, as if there was an apocalypse, yet every one were in their room, after the fact that it was a false alarm, we were trying to catch some sleep before our exhausting event next day, the speaker still went announcing, the announcement went for 30-45 min, as soon as my eyes closed, they announced again that we can sleep . That woke me up till next day and couldn’t sleep. The handling of the fire alarm was not professional and could have been handled way differently. I highly suggest getting trained on situations like this to avoid future frustrations to people staying at the hotel. It was not a pleasant stay and personally I would have wanted a refund for the situation. But I had no time to argue, so I didn’t mention anything to the staff. Also, it’s not their fault, understandable , but the manager should have had done or said something for the people who had the misfortune that night. This is what I called customer service if you care for your loyal clients. Note to hotel, we had a handicap parking sign, the amount of parking available in front of the door is not enough, people were using it without a sign and no one was saying anything, also there is the 15 min parking, that was being used by people , employees or guests , all night long, that also needs to be addressed. So we had to wait hours in the truck, to find a parking spot, because our truck was higher than the closed parking , our truck didn’t fit there . Another issue for handicapped people visiting.

What a little gem in North York! From booking to checking in the staff were awesome. We asked for an early check-in and got it. Our suite (for a great price) was spotless, spacious and the king bed was soooo comfy. We had a light breakfast at the Starbucks bar and the staff there were so friendly. The rooms may not have all the bells and whistles (toiletries and robes) but they are nicely appointed and vey inviting. If you want an AMAZING dinner, go next door to the Peking Duck restaurant...I am still dreaming of the crispy skin and succulent meat of this bird! We will return to the Marriot...well done. What a great hotel, with nice clean rooms and a great pool. One thing I didn't like was the lack of bathtub, because I was sore after touring the zoo. It would have been nice to soak away the day in a hot bathtub. The pool is really nice. Not too hot, not too cold. Too bad there isn't a hot tub there, for weary traveler muscles. There's a workout room, if you're really addicted to working out on vacation. It looked nice.

Check in was easy and desk rep was friendly. When unloading my car and waiting for elevator, although my group was waiting first - the people behind us rushed past us into the elevator then we waited again as there are only 3 elevators which are fairly small. The elevators or certain entry doors do not work without a room key. The rooms are exactly as expected. The bathroom in my room versus my parent's room was very different. I didn't like the in place shower door because it made it very inconvenient for me to turn on the shower unless I was trying to get immediately blasted in the face. There is a Bistro for made to order and concession area in which everything is for any additional fee. Located in a good location - many things near by. Connected to Peking Duck but it's reservations only. Biggest Con/downfall: The front desk inquired if we would like daily housekeeping services or alternating and we requested daily. Guided to use the hotel application. Our first morning, slept great and left the room really early. We even put a request in the services application. After 14 hours, when we returned to the room, we realized no one came in the entire day. We called the front desk, they were very apologetic and sent us 2 sealed bags of fresh towels then the app said request completed. The second day after our adventure return, they did turn down our room and tidy up the bathroom but they took all the towels from the room even though they were hanging and only left one full set. We put in the request via the app, they took an extremely long time even though it was acknowledged. We just called the front desk, requesting just small wash rags and within 5 minutes - we were given 2 small wash rags only in a wrapped bag then realized the app said request completed.

Our wedding venue was close by and we had a few hours between our ceremony and reception. We were so pleased by the service we received. They were helpful and fast with check in, and accommodating in every way possible. Rooms were surprisingly beautiful, modern and clean. Thank you so much Anna, your customer service helped make our wedding day even better!

Don't I feel like a fool! Since 1999 I have been a loyal Marriott customer. I truly believed that my loyalty to Marriott meant something. However, over the years, I have noticed a sharp decline in the quality of your services. - It started when Marriott replaced the 24 hours a day coffee service in the lobby with low-quality coffee pods in my room. Since that day, the following services and complementary upgrades have also disappeared. The front desk has not offered me a complimentary room upgrade in years. The welcome gift at check-in has disappeared, along with other complementary amenities for gold and platinum elite members. - You can only get your room serviced every other day, no matter how much you complain to the front desk. You can forget about the clean towels and replacement coffee pods. - Finally, on my latest trip, I opened the closet to retrieve the plastic bag used for the dry cleaning, only to find this note, "Dear valued customer, we no longer offer dry cleaning service, but there is a coin laundry near the lobby." - Your rewards programs have become nothing more than sales fluff. After more than 430 days of staying at Marriott hotels, I have decided that I have been bamboozled long enough. I will stay at the Holiday Inn Express on my next business trip. My colleague stayed there the same week I stayed at the Marriott. He had access to 24 hours per day complimentary coffee. His room was cleaned daily, and his stay was two-thirds the price of Marriott.

The service was amazing! Very friendly staff - front desk, Bistro and everybody you meet on the floors. They even accommodated us for a late night event, making sure we had a nice area to get together. Will book there again.

Have stayed here a couple of times. Each time I've had a pleasant stay with a smooth check in process and they recognized my bonvoy status. The rooms are reasonably spacious. Nothing fancy and no views to be had or expected out the window for this location. Bed was comfortable and bathroom a good size. Did see a couple of hairs in the shower that got missed during cleaning that were high up on the wall. There's no sit down restaurant or room service. For breakfast you order on the phone or at the bar and then you can take it with you or sit down at one of the lounge area tables to eat. Overall a good stay and hotel is in a good location for getting in the 404/dvp, hwy 7 and 407, and getting to the 401.

Receptionist Philip Lee saved our stay! Have been there on a very busy weekend. Booking was via a third party platform, which mixed it up with another hotel of the same chain, but 4h drive away. Arrived there late at night. However, staff was very friendly and Philip Lee organized the last available room at a fair rate and even helped to cancel the reservation at the other hotel. Staff also provided bottles of water while waiting. Room was well equiped and clean.

I had attempted robbery on my vehicle in the hotel, in the back garage of the hotel. The glass was shattered into pieces, and greasy dirt was all over the driver's seat. Someone had attempted to rob the vehicle, but, for unknown reasons, wasn’t able to. Nothing was taken from the car even though we had a few inexpensive items in there. We immediately filed a police report and had to take the car to the dealership to fix the window as we obviously could not drive it in rainy weather. I drove from Ottawa to Toronto for a short family vacation, and we had friends and family we wanted to see. We of course at this incident weren’t able to. I wasn’t able to sleep for two nights because we were worried that they’d come back or even follow us. After speaking with one of the managers I was told that it had happened many times before so this was normal. If that is the case I am puzzled that such a well-known establishment and choice of hotels doesn’t do enough to protect its customers by adding more Security Surveillance cameras and controlling the entrance with a barricaded gate with card readers.
