Just finished eating here. What a fantastic spot. The prices are AMAZING, with entrées all at $10, most expensive foods on the menu. Everything else is less than that. And the portions are huge. We got the caesar salad with shrimp ($5+3), avocado salad ($5), chicken fajitas ($7), java chicken wrap ($6) , cream of mushroom ($5) and the home fries ($5). The service was quick. Patio is open and has plenty space. The servers were very sweet. The food was delicious, warm and fresh, albeit slightly underseasoned (we asked for salt and pepper).

This place is Toronto classic and I have enjoyed it since 2009. While it is definitely not a fancy place, it is a familiar and homey place - at least for me. Their patio is always packed in the summertime!! I've enjoyed their cheap eats and drinks over the years and no matter how long it has been..the food and vibe has not changed. I usually go for their pitcher of sangria and nachos - it's like drinking juice and their homemade chips are crisp and tasty! They have increased their menu items over the years..but their pad thai and curry chicken are some of my favourite choices. Large servings, very tasty and cheap prices. A turnoff for some may be that they only take cash and their washrooms could use an update..but for myself, I'm there for the good vibes, cheap eats and drinks!

Not a fancy location but offers good, affordable food options - good portion. It is one of the rare place in downtown Toronto where you can get a pint of beer + 2 dishes under $30. The place could use some upgrade, especially the washroom.

Pocket friendly & delicious food. Tried thier Vege Sandwich with fries combo & blend coffee. Very nice patio sitting on Queen St W. Only catch is, they only accept cash.

Lovely place and had one of the most amazing breakfasts at the most economical price. Service was great and the ambience was lovely too.

Great spot for very cheap drinks. Came for a pitcher which was surprisingly under $20. I also noticed they had decent priced food as well. I wouldn't recommend to go for the vibes, but you get what you pay for. Would recommend and come back and try their food.

Simple and honest cuisine, good quality, totally unpretentious but satisfiying. Some of the nearby restaurants could learn from Java cafe. Singapore style noodles was authentic. Menu is quite diverse and filled with interesting items. Staff are skilled and courteous.

Stopped by last weekend and I’m so glad we passed by and decided to try it! Prices are phenomenal for amazing portions and everything was so tasty. Our server was so helpful with recommendations and kind. We had some drinks as well as tofu ($7), fries ($5), and carrot cake ($6). So excited to try their viet noodles and other items on their huuuuge menu next time! :)

This place is the standard to which basically every late night eats place should be held (in Toronto). Food is cheap and as good as you'd likely make at home at that late hour. Good variety of drinks. And there's usually space for groups. Service can be slow so don't order one person at a time. Also has gluten free options but not necessarily perfectly safe. Just ask.

I left hungry and went to get 2 shawarmas for 30$. I spent about 40$ on food here which was awful. If you want cheap food, go to a fast food place. It's the same price but sooo much better. If you just want a place to sit and drink a beer, then this can be an excellent place. If you get hungry, just buy the most simple foods that they cannot mess up (like fries).

Been to this cafe/restaurant before. This time came during covid 19 but stage 3 so dine in was possible. Ae for some drinks only. Place was full! Service was a bit slower than expected but still friendly. Overall I will most likely return as they always have some great meal options and I do recommend to those looking for a bite or a drink.

Another budget friendly patio. Not crazy about the food but it wasn't terrible at fast food prices. Friendly service. Cash only.

Overall, I had great experience at Java but there were couple things I didn’t enjoy being here. They don’t take debit or credit. They have an atm inside and transaction fee was only $1.75 but they should take cards. Their washroom is a bit weird. Washroom is downstairs but you would have to go through back of the pub where the kitchen is. They only had room dividers to make the area sort of seperate from the washroom. It felt like I’m literally walking into their kitchen. Otherwise, very affordable place, good location, and staff’s service is excellent.

Java is honestly great for really cheap eats and fairly quick service (at least when I've been). The first time I went to Java, my brother and I stumbled upon it during the winter when we were looking for a heated patio. To our pleasant surprise, we realized it was CHEAP.. like cheap cheap. 1L of wine is around $17 if I remember correctly. That's pretty unheard of in the restaurant industry these days. Although the food isn't anything crazy, it's good and extremely affordable. Their avocado salad for example probably costs more to make than they charge for it. You genuinely can get a good, healthy meal at the same price, if not cheaper, than you would get at a fast food joint. They only take cash, but they have an ATM, not a biggie.

Under the radar late night establishment near graffiti alley that has a lot of character. Good food for a good price and with great service. You can get local beers on tap including Mill St and Amsterdam and cuisine that ranges from Pad Thai to burgers and breakfast items. There’s something for everyone at any time of the day. Great patio as well.

Great #27a Vegan Pad Thai. As a Vegan I often am reluctant to explore. Though I heard about this place being awesome and after a quick browse of their menu I found some Vegan items. Will definitely recommend.

Staff at Java House are professional and kind. The food is amazing. We had an event for 100 people and Java staff made a delicious brunch, delivered to our door and on time. I couldn't ask for a better service. Thank you, Jessica and everyone at Java.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Never going back. It’s cash only and we didn’t see that anywhere. They only tell you at the end. Food is pretty mediocre, only good thing is the price point. They have an atm but we ended up having to pay a service charge and plus the charge from the bank. They also don’t split bills or do separate bills.

Food is pretty good, but prices are great. Margarita pitchers are well worth it as well. The service is incredibly fast and the employees are friendly. Cash only!

Love love love this place! Me and my friend were just walking downtown when we came accross this restaurant, people inside were just vibing drinking sangria and food looked good. So we decided to go inside, ordered the sangria pitcher and two entrees. The music and the vibe overall of the restaurant is sooooo cool. The service was fast, servers were nice. However the bathroom is quite a walk but other than that this place is perfect for simple drinking or eating to try to sober up if the club was boring lol. I always recommend this place to new people <3

Wife and I took the kids here. One of our favorite places to eat out if we're in the neighborhood. Excellent value, generous portions, great tasting dishes.

Vegetarians, this is your place. Grilled veggie sandwich 5 stars 🤩 Mimosa didn't have alcohol at all but the Mochacchino was awesome... Fries were perfection 😋 Value for money -100% will be going there regularly...

I wanted to drink Japanese beer, so I chose this restaurant. I ordered two pitchers of Sapporo beer. It was very nice. Food is also great. I ordered Tacos, chicken wings and caesar salad. I waited a few minutes after ordering. The bill was about $70 for two people. There is outdoor seating. I think it’s good place to drink alcohol.

Yet another "closet with an espresso machine". You'll get your fix and get out. Minimal pastry selection. Not intended for sitting or hanging around.

Found this random piece of plastic after an Uber Eats order on the night of April 6th/7th in the soup. Tried calling before they closed and the guy on the phone just kept saying "hello" and hung upe of the times I called back before they closed, I could hear them just fine. Unfortunately,I don't think I'll eat here again not really worth it even if it's cheap. Pretty sure the piece is from some kind of black paperclip or twist tie, but gross to see and instantly made me throw the rest out.

We came quite late with a large party. Around maybe midnight with 8 people, they fit us in at a table and were efficient with taking orders and preparing/delivering them. The cost is all very reasonable, especially for portion sizes, as well as being tasty.

Great family owned establishment for a quick bite, evening drinks or a place to catchup with friends. Drink prices are on point, food prices are incredibly fair too. Recommend highly coming here.

Amazingly affordable and delicious place to eat! Pad thai is my fav. Don’t forget to order a Vietnamese coffee $3.50 😲

I really liked this cafe. I had a chicken sandwich combo (with fries). The sandwich wasn't so special that you couldn't make it at home, but it was good and the price is really worth it. All items on the menu was low price. The place is cozy and has a good vibe. A nice place for dates or hanging out with friends. ** They accept cash only, so remember to bring some cash. There is an ATM at the place but you'll be charged to use the ATM.
