Text heavy, more artefacts, footage, photography would have allowed for a more visceral connection to what happened. The mention of non-related Canadian indigenous history gave the sense of also presenting a current political bias as well as the horrors pertaining to the Jewish people people. Wonderful to see the resilience of those affected and how they rebuilt their lives in Canada.

Visited this place on a Sunday and absolutely loved it. As a Jewish woman, it was really important for me to visit and expand my knowledge of the holocaust. It was also really important for me to bring my non Jewish husband to help him learn more about the history of my family. The place itself is very clean, the staff were really helpful and kind, and the artifacts were fascinating to look at. It’s still hard for me to comprehend that those items belonged to actual people, many of whom were murdered. I wanted to say a big thank you to the Toronto Holocaust Museum for helping educate people, and while it would be wrong to say that I’ve enjoyed my visit (because how can one enjoy learning about such cruelty) I’ve really appreciate the opportunity to learn more and see all the exhibits.

As per below, very text heavy with a few artifacts. But, the Canadian focus was good. We went early on a Tuesday, a weekday. I did mention to the front desk that they should try to make it quiet reverent space. It was a small space and there were people just randomly taking away and very loudly. It was difficult to focus with the talking, the videos playing. I hope they do something about keeping silent for respect and retrospect.

It's the museum not to miss if one wants to learn more about the holocaust thru real evidence and witnesses from the affected Israelites.

Felt uneasy considering how rude they were and hovering over me and my friends, and horrible customer service…very informal and learned something tho😐

It is a very detailed and very informative exhibition of artifacts and pictures showing this incredibly tragic chapter in our history. Highly recommend!!! Be back again for sure.

A must-visit for anyone who wants to learn history. The 15-minute video giving a brief on the history of Jews and anti-Semitism was informative. Hearing about the real-life experiences of victims and seeing exhibits that included the personal belongings of victims was moving. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

It's smaller than I expected but it's still very dense with lots of information!

Would definitely recommend this museum to others. The exhibition is very neatly arranged and the storytelling is highly engaging. What makes this place special is that it really connects with the Jews' lives in Canada - the overall message of the exhibition is positive and motivational, focusing on how the survivors work hard to overcome the shadows of holocaust.

I recently visited the museum with family and friends. As children and grandchildren of survivors, we appreciated the museum’s long awaited presence here and were thankful for the various staff and volunteers and their commitment to sharing the space and their knowledge. School visits will certainly help this generation in understanding what hate can do to a society. The interactive display of names of survivors was the only area that we felt was confusing as it did not reflect the names of the large survivor community that had settled in the greater Toronto area after immigrating. We searched for names of friends and relatives and were disappointed. We asked and were told that this had been taken from another site. A memorial such as this that is to honour their losses, existence and perseverance, we felt, could have been more inclusive and thoughtfully done. If we’ve misinterpreted the display, we would certainly welcome any information.
