Very serene, a place where one can sit and just meditate and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Visited Rouge National Urban Park, specifically Rouge Beach and Marsh, on a summer weekend and let me tell you, it was an absolute oasis of tranquility. This park is truly a hidden gem, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and serenity. The beach is well-maintained, and the waves gently kissing the shore create a soothing ambiance. The best part? Free parking! Although the parking lot in the outer area requires a little walk, it's worth it for the peaceful experience. If you prefer convenience, there's inner parking closer to the beach, but it does tend to get crowded on weekends. Portable potties are available throughout the park, ensuring you're comfortable during your visit. Just a friendly heads up, though: there's no BBQ allowed on the beach. But don't worry, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy. You can embark on a peaceful hike along the boardwalk, marvel at the beauty of the marshland, or even indulge in some relaxing fishing. There's something for everyone here. In conclusion, Rouge National Urban Park, with its free parking (albeit a short walk from the outer area), pristine beach, marshland, boardwalk, and train-watching spot, is an absolute haven. Whether you're looking to unwind on the beach, explore the captivating marsh, or simply take in the beauty of nature, this park has it all. So pack your fishing gear, grab a blanket, and get ready to immerse yourself in the sheer bliss that awaits you.

A beautiful beach. There has been some work done to make the beach a little more people- friendly. Seems to be more beach area. There are fantastic opportunities to photograph some different water birds, I've seen ducks, swans, geese, and heron here.

No wonder that this is the largest urban national park in North America! I spent an afternoon at the park fronting Lake Ontario, which is only a small fraction of the park. As my friend is on wheel chair, I must say this is conveniently wheel chair accessible. Paths all paved, even for the bridge overlooking the Rouge as it enters the Lake. Besides, the park has multiple access points with parking all the way from Stouffville in the north to the beach area in the south. It's a gem in the urban jungle!

I always love visiting this place. Could use more parking spots and rehab of the place.

A great place to catch Fall colors. The trails are fairly easy with plenty of signs on the way so you never get lost. Highly recommend!

Excellent spot to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. The dawn and dusk are absolutely incredible. It's the home of several trumpet swans, goose and ducks. We saw many visitors near the pond and river fishing. The beach was spectacular, so calming and serene. Would highly recommend visiting. However the parking spots are limited i am sure summers would be crowded.

Beautiful place to go for a walk , the water is crystal clear and the beech is very well kept. The only downside is there needs to be more public washrooms that are open.

Nicer beach along the lakeshore trail. Some folks are fishing in the inner water, while trains roll over from time to time.

Its a beautiful beach for walking, fishing and hiking and kayaking. I like the water front trail to walk in the evening and weekend in summer times. Winter time the lake freeze , look beautiful, walking over the bridge is amazing. Parking is free.

Beautiful place for a walk by the water, great beach area, currently under renovation. Lots of geese and seagulls so watch for bird droppings. Soft sand and clear water when it hasn't rained in a while. You'll catch some folks even fishing from time to time from the comfort of their lawn chairs

Beautiful natural habitat to trumpeter swan families, blue & grey herons, deer, mink, Canadian geese, mallard ducks, turtles, salmon and other varieties of fish, you name it…I’ve even seen an American Bald Eagle flying overhead on a couple occasions!

A great, free, park with a fantastic water front trail. Our toddler loves coming here because there is a beach (giant sandbox), water (to throw rocks in) and, trains! It very much feels like you are no where near the city when you visit. We try to come a few times a year. The lower parking is a bit hit and miss. With being able to find a spot (especially on weekends or evenings). However there is a fair amount of overflow parking at the top of the hill. For lower parking, if there is a lot of rain, some of the spots are flooded too They have washrooms and a number of portable toilets, I think they try to keep them clean but … it’s public washrooms. On a weekend you will most likely see police patrolling the wall way and beach area. Sunsets here are decen

Great place to hangout and chill with friends and you can swim there too, but that is not recommended.

Peaceful! The walk along the beach makes your nerves calm down. If you need to escape from the city buzz, this is one of the closest in Scarborough you can get 🙂

This Scarborough Jewel is known as the largest urban park in North Amerlca- a natural oasis so close to busy city life. The spectacular, calm sandy beach is mind-blowing - a scenic walking path along the lake provides the most mesmerizing view. The water front trail is also scenic. People indulge in all sorts of activities - hiking, biking, swimming, relaxed fishing, kayaking, canoeing. This is the place where the Rouge reaches the lakes. In the marshland, there live goose, swans, ducks, turtles, seagulls in the lakes and beaches. Parking is free, but it might be difficult to find during weekends. Washrooms and portables are available throughout. A family-friendly place to spend quality time.

👍👍 Beautiful park for hiking. Not difficult as mentioned in some websites. Scenic views. After 1.6 kms, if one wishes to walk further, can go hiking to mast trail.
