The Village of Yorkville Park is a great place for photo ops, relaxing and reading your favourite book or hanging out with friends and family. Every winter, around Christmas time they host the Cavalcade of Lights with beautiful Christmas light displays. In the winter they also have the ice sculptures located here (February I believe) and they’ll have the Festival of Lights and different themed events here throughout the year. The ice sculptures throughout the years have represented some of the events of the year and other years they are themed or focused around a larger event. Centrally located in Yorkville, there are lots of coffee shops and restaurants to grab a snack and make a day out of it with some great shopping. This is a fun place to bring the family whether you’re from Toronto or visiting, if you happen to catch an event at the park, chances are it will be well lit and picture perfect!! December 2023 Took a few pics of Santa and his reindeer above Old Yorke Lane (across from Yorkville Park). The Fleurs de Villes sponsored by Porsche is also on full display tonight, from Dec. 6-10 so I snapped a pic of the flowered peppermints 🎄☃️❄️

I always feel like I'm visiting Europe when i stroll through Yorkville. Masks were about to be dropped from the public mandate and once inside The Pilot, we didn't have to wear them anyway. Sushi Inn afterwards was just as fantastic as always. Great atmosphere and the best quality sushi ever.

A beautiful park right in the heart of Yorkville village. Right on the top of the Bay subway station it's well connected to all the places. It has some amazing restaurants and shopping centres surrounding the park. Several festivals are held at this park, Yorkville Christmas holiday, ice sculpture festival etc.

A great day in the park, the Toronto jazz festival was here for the past week! It is such a great use of the park I wish this festival was every day.

The ice sculptures were remarkable and it wasn’t as crowded. Only downside is paying for parking. The parking garages are very narrow. Do not recommend if you have big vehicles to park there.

Lovely park in the middle of Downtown, surrounded by the best stores of the city. With a boulder that is over a billion years and diferent sections, it's a little oasis, great to take the kids or enjoy a quiet time in your day relaxing with a cup of tea or coffee. Beautiful Christmas lights and decorations turn it into a Winter Wonderland on this Holiday season.

2020.10.18 The second visit was today. This was on my walk around the city. I like area, the boutiques, cafes, and outdoor seatings area. 2020.10.11. A very nice place inside the city. Little boutiques and s great high end stores such as Louboutin, Prada, and Kate Spade. A nice little park on the location. Several coffee places, restaurants, and gelato. A very convenient place on Bloor St and Bay St right on the subway line and a walking distance from downtown.

Constructed between 1992 and 1994 in the formerly bohemian Village of Yorkville, this compact park (30 x 150 meters) is situated between high-rises to its south and upscale boutiques on its north. Victorian row houses formerly occupied the site, and were demolished in the 1950s to accommodate the Bloor subway line. A parking lot was built atop the subway, and in the 1970s the City of Toronto agreed to replace it with a park, sponsoring an international design competition in 1991, won by Oleson Worland Architects in association with Schwartz Smith Meyer Landscape Architects and PWP Landscape Architecture. The Park is crossed by eleven distinct garden plots, whose borders trace the property lines of the demolished row houses, and whose variety—recalling the Victorian propensity for collecting and classifying— echoes the diversity of the Canadian landscape. Beginning at the east, a five-by-five grid of Scots pines, each set within a doughnut-shaped seating circle, is regularly interspersed with slender lampposts doubling as fog emitters. Then follows a succession of plants, surfaces, and materials: beds of wildflowers; a gravel plot with birches, movable tables and chairs; perennial herbs in natural stone planters; a crabapple orchard; a metal, vine-covered pergola; elevated boardwalks crossing a wetland garden; an alder grove; a water curtain beside a large, granite outcropping (imported from the Canadian Shield and re-assembled), rising from an elevated plaza of cobblestones; a herbaceous border garden; and finally, on the west, a strip of serviceberry trees and the entrance to the subway. In 2012 Village of Yorkville Park won the American Society of Landscape Architects Landmark Award.

Mesmerizing lighting in the Yorkville Park. The colors of the lights are awesome, including red, blue , silver, and golden. Streets are lit with wonderful and adoring Christmas lamps. Streets bring the joy of Christmas. There is no fare associated with the park. Overall, it was a wonderful experience

All the stars are for decoration. During my New Year visit, the lighting was spectacular, and I thoroughly enjoyed the enchanting decorations. The snowy ambiance added a magical touch. However, I found myself wishing for designated standing areas, and I missed having a warm spot to retreat to. Despite that, the overall experience was delightful, surrounded by the festive atmosphere.

Lovely little space with tables and chairs in the sun and shade. Love the big rock for kids to climb. There is a Starbucks. Musicians in the summer. Pretty lights at Christmas.

A pilgrimage site for design professionals as well as simply a perennial local favorite space. Design features and creativity attempting to satisfy soaring agency compliance criteria and public demands in the early 90s. A bit worn around the edges from heavy use and much has grown as well. Great place making and evolving for a very unique neighborhood.

Strangely I always enjoy going to events in this park. Besides being beautiful and a great location the size of the space makes any event feel more intimate and special.

Nice Christmas lights, good for family photos The area is reachable from subway as the Bay station is just below the park. There are many local shops and eateries in the locality. You can spend your weekend here and relax.

Beautiful park in mid of the gorgeous area in Toronto, Yorkville. In summer it's greenery under the high rising buildings. During winter you can attend ice fest at this place.

Nice Christmas lights. We went two days before Christmas around 8 pm, not that many people. It's not a big place, it's a small park.

Nice place. Probably looks better in the spring. Nothing too exciting though.

Nice park. The park is segmented into narrow lots each with its own landscape feature. This was done to retain the history of the homes that previously occupied the space.

Not worth the hype. To be honest I expected a bigger area worthwhile to walk around but was greeted with a tiny park. While the decorations looked amazing the overall image it gave off was a cluttered mess. Quite disappointing.

A pleasant stroll in a winter wonderland, although dull days make one have to use their imagination a bit more.

Great stroll thru the Village with a peek into some of the shops. Certainly outside of my affordable range but great to see the variance of the haves vs the have nots.

A nice little park in the middle of the city but nothing spectacular. When I was there, the were too many people, the streets were crowded, and nobody was wearing masks. Yorkville itself is very nice although not everyone's cup of tea.

Terrific central square area. It's ideal for families, and general groups of friends who just need a lovely, animated outdoors area to enjoy coffee, the occasional live music, people watch and connect.
