I recently visited Sugar Beach and had a great experience. The soft white sands and the relaxing atmosphere made for a wonderful day by the lake. It is a beautiful spot to unwind. The amenities like loungers and umbrellas are well-maintained. Overall, a lovely beach destination for some quality relaxation.

Sugar Beach is a park that is walking distance to the city centre but is far enough that you don’t hear much of the traffic noises. There are beach chairs to sit on under iconic pink beach umbrellas. The sand isn’t the best as people do throw out trash and cigarette butts, but it’s nice enough to be able to take your shoes off and feel the warm sand between your toes. It is not too busy on weekdays with most people just lounging around relaxing or trying to get a sun tan. It’s a great place to relax and escape from the busyness of the city.

I mean, not bad at all but it's definitely overrated (and only so because ppl mention Sugar Beach as one of the cities must go to places). The view is not that good. Unless you actually enjoy seeing old factories.

I've never been here in summer but in winter it has something special. The view of the frozen lake is beautiful! Recommended for a walk in the harbourfront!

A perfect spot to spend time with your loved ones. Pink shades with white chairs and sand create a mesmerizing ambience. Quite happening during weekends daytime. The best thing is that it's really clean and pets are not allowed unleashed. Kids love playing with sand here.

Very nice place but the weather is so cold, I assume that in spring/summer weather will be great

It's not the actual beach, but you will definitely love the place. Such an amazing view, water sounds, and flying birds in the sky. Perfect spot for evening walk. You can sit and enjoy the vibes with loved ones.

A lovely urban park / beach area on the waterfront. Lots of trees and many places to sit. The breeze off the water was refreshing and the people and dog watching was fun.

This is a nice little park to walk through on the water front. I felt very safe here as a single female. I found it was mostly just locals on their walks with their dogs when I visited midday. The biggest downside to this park is there isnt much to do. There is not a lot of green space to play on and there are a few benches, but I found they were usually taken. Its definitely worth a visit, but I would plan to walk end to end in 15 minutes and then head towards the beach or the harbor

Was a nice place to go for a walk especially in the winter. The sunset was a bright red, the winter sun gleamed in the horizon. The kids had a lot of fun breaking ice pieces off the ground and throwing it onto the lake. The breeze was immense, it was a peaceful escape in the city. Would recommend to anyone looking for a winter stroll in the city. Only criticism is the ugly slush and dirty snow that is not cleaned.

An incredible public space, where giant ships and sandy peach coexist and create a unique urban utopia. Best times to visit is throughout summer, but even during brutal Canadian winters, this place can be enchanting.

This place has a very tiny beach with seats and tables that faves a warehouse but also water. When you take the path further it leads you into the trees and a great view to watch boats. The nice thing is that it’s right by the city but the sad thing is that it’s quite small. This is a place you can stop and enjoy for a few moments but not somewhere you wanna stay for hours. There are a lot of students that walk through the area and it is pretty busy. There are benches further down by the water and lots of trees to offer shade. even though this place is small I enjoyed a moment of serenity and nature! The path after the beach is quite photo worthy!

Sugar Beach Park is another Toronto urban beach with outdoor seating and a sandy beach overlooking the water, as well as a granite rock outcropping and grass mounds for the public to enjoy. We enjoyed the new year’s fireworks, sitting by the water’s edge and watching the sky light up as the city rang in 2022

Pretty easy to get to if you have a bike. Not so convenient with transit. Relaxed and it feels really nice there just lying down doing nothing. Not sure why but I quite like this place in the city.

Sugar Beach is a hidden gem nestled within the heart of Toronto. The beach offers breathtaking views of Lake Ontario, with the iconic Redpath Sugar Refinery as a backdrop. It's a perfect spot to watch the sunset or simply enjoy the water's calming presence. Cool, pink sun umbrellas are definitely adding vibe. It's not so easy for parking. Need more seating are, gets very busy in summer months.

The beach allows visitors to while away the afternoon as they read, play in the sand or watch boats on the lake. A dynamic water feature embedded in a granite maple leaf beside the beach makes cooling off fun for adults and children. The park's plaza offers a dynamic space for public events. A large candy-striped granite rock outcropping and three grass mounds give the public unique vantage points for larger events and the space between the mounds result in a natural performance space for smaller events.

A cute beach with an actual sugar factory right next to it. Sometimes you see the cargo ships filling up with sugar.

  • 2/5 Paridhi G. 7 months ago on Google
The view is good, but the beach is so dirty. It's definitely not worth going with kids. There were cigratte buds everywhere in sand, even some broken glass pieces. Most of the people around were smoking cigarettes and other stuff. We left within ĥalf hour.

Not as expected , thought it was a beach but reality hits hard. Its only a portray of it but the view is fantastic.

Toronto’s urban beach - just next to the sugar refinery (hence the name). Static pink umbrellas and Muskoka chairs encourage lounging and lolling about with a good book and maybe a cold beverage. Tremendous views out to the Islands, and then over the refinery terminal to downtown with the CN Tower poking up. The entire area is welcoming for a warm summer afternoon with the beach, shaded esplanade, a patio restaurant, and further east, a park with splash pad and washrooms.

  • 5/5 Amanda K. 8 months ago on Google
I always enjoy this place. The Muskoka chairs are showing a bit of wear and tear, but it's nice to have them and the umbrellas. It's so nice to have this peaceful place I the heart of downtown

This is a great beach to lounge and have a picnic. St.Lawrence Market is about 700m away to pick up some food. PLUS there is LOTS OF SHADE.

The boulevard around Sugar Beach by the Toronto's East Waterfront is a wonderful area to visit. There's sidewalk cafe, Muskoka chairs, benches and picnic tables, splash pad skating rink surrounded by lake on the south and super luxurious condominiums with matured trees. You'll frequently find people exercising, practicing yoga, playing music and having a great time. Before the pandemic, the Sherbourne Commons park hosts entertainment with musical performances and communal parties. This is probably one of the nicest area of the Waterfront.

Cute place, fake sand but nice. No access to the water, so be prepared for a hot afternoon.

Sugar Beach Park with a bunch of iconic pink umbrellas, sand and rest area with lounge chairs scattered throughout the beach. There's also walkway areas that connects you to the new East Bayfront community as well. It's a pretty nice walk along the waterfront with cyclists and walkers. Or even dine at the nearby Against the Grain to see pedestrians walk by. Depending on the time of the year, you can also hear Edge 102.1's Sugar Beach Sessions as well for some live music while relaxing or walking by the park. Very nice area to have a nice walk along the waterfront!

Great place for anyone who wants to spend the day doing nothing but watching. Great view of the island and always work going on at Redpath sugar. There is usually a vessel from far away docked and loading and unloading of whatever is on the agenda. Great place to meet people as well.

Beach is quite small and can get busy in the afternoon but overall is nice place to sit or have a picnic.

  • 5/5 Sidney E. 3 years ago on Google
This is a lovely spot to visit for a stroll anytime of day. The crowd density is a bit more during the summer months, but as time cools down their are moderate pockets of people and sometimes sparse observers relaxing and listening to music & smoking. Essentially, it's like a mini mock up of a beach/board walk strip, but with a Toronto flare.🤗 I love my City💯

Always loved the area and very relaxing. Seems Toronto has caught on. So busy now but great to see people out having a nice day and perfect evening.
