This family run Jamaican vegan spot consistently delivers delicious, fresh and nutritious food. If you're very hungry, definitely get their Pong Special!! It's super filling and has a bit of everything. I sometimes get their roti too which is super tasty.

My son and his girlfriend are vegan, so when they visit we're always on the lookout for places to eat. V's was highly recommended by a vegan friend and now that we've eaten there I can see why. I'm not a vegan myself but I really enjoyed the food. Absolutely delicious. Very friendly, informal and laid back, so if you want fancy don't go, but if you want good, then do. (Note: Cash only)

Great Caribbean vegan food. Very friendly staff. I would highly recommend. The Pong special is a little of everything. I had rice/peas with maple jerk tofu and okra. Was opened Good Friday...bonus

Vegan Caribbean food is a unique combination that's succeeding in Toronto's tougher Mt Dennis west-end neighborhood. V's Caribbean Restaurant is actually attracting a flock of people from all over the city to try their comfort food. I made the trek and quickly located the entrance, which had a bit of island flair that made it easy to spot. I had the Chef Pong Special, a full offering with all of their vegan toppings. I really liked the maple jerk tofu, it was slightly sweet and deliciously imitated spicy jerk meat. The curry chickpeas, curry TVP soy chunks and caramelized plantain (banana) were also seasoned flavorfully as interesting sides. The mac & cheese, stew peas and callaloo (veggies) were more plain fillers and less tasty. The fresh avocado and quinoa nicely complemented all of the toppings, and basmati rice can be chosen instead of quinoa. This huge vegan platter is a healthy and filling alternative. While the staff gave a first look of suspicion at my interest, she started to smile when I mentioned that their food looked attractive. I didn't plan to stay long to dine-in so I asked for takeout. The seating area felt kind of stale though their use of Bob Marley placemats was cool.

While this place may have basic decor, there’s NOTHING basic about their vegan food! SO flavourful, your finicky non-vegan friend will forget about missing meat. Ask the cook to create your meals or choose from the menu. They also have original blends of fruit juices that not predictable as at other health restos or drink bars. A truly hidden gem that doesn’t get noticed by typical local food media outlets but deserves positive reviews!

This was by far the best vegan cuisine I have ever had in Toronto. I had Pong's Special and the Pudding. Both were fresh, tastey, and delicious! I appreciated that Pong's Special offered the opportunity to try the various stews and the pudding wasn't overly sweet. I will definitely be back.

This place deserves ALL the stars. Venue: Between the chef swaying to the reggae tunes and the helpful and kind gentleman who took our order, I easily felt transported back to Jamaica. Food: I haven’t had a channa and pumpkin roti that good since my visit to Trinidad. The porridge was DELICIOUS and not too sweet…amazing! If I could, I would have bought more and taken it back with me on my plane ride home. This place is an absolute gem. NOTE: cash only

I stumbled upon this awesome spot late on a Saturday evening. I got what the chef recommended (and what was left), and was not disappointed. The staff was sweet and explained that most items were already sold out for the day but it was fine. Generous portions!!! Delicious, spicy and satisfying. Definitely will be back. Oh and the soup was devine! Photo of my cassava cake is missing a bite because I couldn't wait to try it. Fabulous.

V’s restaurant is by far the best vegan spot, and caribbean restaurant to eat in the GTA. Today was my second time visiting, And got the roti with maple jerk tofu, it tasted even better than the first time somehow!! My gf got the pong special and I kept eating off her plate because everything there just looks sooo darn good. The tropical juice made in house was amazing, refreshing, everything you want a nice hot day. I kid you not i can still taste the food, 🤤its most definitely worth the visit.

Once Ronald's hidden gems in the ital food department.. When someone says you have to order ahead this is a place you literally do don't take your chances coming there in hour before closing expecting food to be there it won't be there pre order and get your food you won't be disappointed. The best in vegan food you can find

My husband and I were excited to try this place as my husband being Jamaican and this place being Jamaican vegan, what a blend! We got there around 6pm and there was not much food left so the lady gave us a bit of everything that was left over. The quinoa was nice and fluffy, chick peas needed more flavor, and the jerk dish was too spicy, overpowering everything. The fruit drink and punch were nice and I enjoyed to donuts. Overall, the meal was mediocre. I don't think I'll go back. We were somewhat disappointed.

There is no going wrong with eating at V's! The food has soo much flavor. The portions are big. The quality is never second priority. Its true home cooking! Even the Uber delivery guy was awesome! I have not been in a while and just found it on Uber - available to deliver in my area. Took less than a second to know what I was eating for lunch :) Thank you for the great food!

If you think vegan food is boring, this place will seriously make you change your mind!!! One of my favourite spots, the food is scrumdiddlyUMPTIOUS and super filling!! The way their menu is set up, you can try a little bit of everything by getting individual stews! This makes V’s the perfect place to share a meal and a smile with others :) P.S DO NOT SLEEP ON THEIR PLANTAIN AND GREEN SALAD!!!

I ordered the roti and a doughnut (spoiling myself I know) and honestly I didn't know they were a vegan/vegetarian restaurant until I went inside. I have never had a more delightful experience in my life. I've had roti a couple times. But the main difference at V's is that it actually had a really delicious texture that you don't find in meat varieties. The flavours were delicious and the combinations of vegetables that were thrown in were a complex surprise that you don't get from a standard Goat and potato roti, that was very welcome! My only regret is that I didn't eat it slower.

Vegan Caribbean food? What can’t vegans do? I tried the Pong special which consisted of all available stews of the day and your choice of a base (you could choose from quinoa, rice and peas or okra and bammie). I also ordered their classic roti with chickpeas and potatoes as well as their maple jerk tofu stew roti. All of them were super delicious! I highly recommend this spot. My new fav joint. So happy to find one so close to my work!

Food is not fresh!!!! I could not finish it and became sick the next day. Service by the lady server especially needs work. People who spend their money do not need attitude while ordering and the atmosphere is rather depressing.

I started following this restaurant on Instagram while before the pandemic. I was always so sad that I never had access to the wonderful food because I lived so far away. Couple of years ago I moved within Uber eats distance. I was honestly blown away. The flavours are incredible, the order always comes promptly and packaged well, the value is very high. I honestly can’t stop eating it. The jerk, tofu, and lima beans stew are my favourites but I always get the palm special because I love the variety. Sometimes I get extra stews on the side or a fresh juice, which are always delicious. I can’t wait to go in person one day!

The food is great quality, fresh and healthy. Personally I haven't found this sort or food so it's quite unique. I really enjoyed my roti and I will return to try all of the offerings. No complaints.

Best island vegan/vegetarian spot in the city. Food has plenty flavour and good portion size. Staff is top notch as well! 100% recommend

  • 5/5 Kimki4u B. 5 months ago on Google
The food was absolutely delicious 😋 and filling. Had me some quinoa with stew, plaintin, jerk tofu (spicy), mac pie, green salad, and avocado topped with nuts and raisins. Also tried the banana coconut donut (similar taste to banana bread topped with coconut shreds and glazed). I would definitely go back. Customer service was on point! Very much appreciated it. A bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it. Go to vegan spot.

V's is always an amazing culinary experience. I was delighted to find a restaurant that specializes in this delicious and nourishing cuisine. From the moment I entered, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and provided excellent service throughout my visit. Their knowledge and passion for Ital food were evident as they guided me through the menu and made recommendations. Every dish I tried was a true culinary masterpiece. The flavors were vibrant, and the presentation was visually appealing. The use of fresh and organic ingredients was evident in each bite. From the perfectly seasoned curry and jerk dishes to the hearty plant-based stews, V's Vegan excelled in delivering a truly authentic Ital dining experience. One standout dish that I highly recommend is the macaroni pie. I am in awe of this dish. The combination of flavors and textures was simply divine. Another aspect that impressed me was the attention to detail in accommodating dietary preferences and restrictions. The menu had a variety of options suitable for vegans, vegetarians, and those with gluten sensitivities. It was refreshing to have such a diverse range of choices without compromising on taste or quality. The pricing at V's Vegan is reasonable for the high-quality ingredients and exceptional dining experience. The portions are generous, ensuring that I left feeling fully satisfied. If you're a fan of Ital food or simply looking to explore the world of vegan cuisine, V's Vegan is an absolute must-visit. The combination of amazing flavors, attentive service, and cozy ambiance creates a memorable dining experience. I can't wait to return and continue my culinary journey through their delectable menu.

It was my first time coming to this restaurant after a long search of trying to find Caribbean vegan restaurants in Toronto. The reviews were surprisingly high for V’s so I thought I’d give it a try. I came just before closing with 30 minutes to spare but there was still a decent amount of food left. I got the macaroni pie which might I add was absolutely disgusting! I’ve never been so repulsed by something so fast l. It was as if the cook emptied a whole box of salt in the pot! No exaggeration. I also had the jerk tofu, curry chick peas, quinoa and a red stew peas mix. Everything on the plate was awful and just taste of salt. The best thing was the piece of avocado they give you. I was lucky enough to get a free soup which I threw in the trash with the rest of the food. I’m very disappointed. I took about 4 bites before I was completely turned off. If I could give this place -100 stars I would. A waste of $40.

My favourite Roti place!! I’ve brought many friends and family to this little hidden gem. The roti with chickpeas and chunks and plantains and avocado is so amazing. Even though I now live farther away, I still send people there and occasionally get a roti for myself and others. Keep up the great job.

This place is awesome! I just had a soup for lunch and it was really yammy; filling, and full of flavor with a nice notch of Caribbean spices. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, this is definitely place to go. Next to the new Mt Dennis LRT station.

holy cow! I'm usually not interested in vegan places, but figured I'd give it a go. My coworker and I both got tvp roti, and my goodness was it ever amazing! my coworker was half finished before I told him it was vegan, and he didn't believe me at first! I would strongly recommend trying V's even if you're not vegan. Awesome food, great prices and friendly staff!
