👍👍 Excellent place. It's a grocery store and a restaurant. We love Ethiopian food in general and this place did not disappoint us. Plus it's vegan, so what else do you want? There's no dine-in, so you can get a takeaway. Not sure if the place delivers. We went for Vegan Roti Curry meal and savory Samos... Excellent place. It's a grocery store and a restaurant. We love Ethiopian food in general and this place did not disappoint us. Plus it's vegan, so what else do you want? There's no dine-in, so you can get a takeaway. Not sure if the place delivers. We went for Vegan Roti Curry meal and savory Samosa. Both of them amazing. Samosa can use a bit less oil. The Curry meal is definitely recommended. Good enough for two people. The staff was great and friendly. There's street parking outside which is paid. Overall, highly recommended!

As others have mentioned the corn soup is good but for me, its nothing special. $6.50 for a small soup? Veggie lentil patty is $3.50 each? Did veggie prices double in 2020? I can get a beef patty for a $1.25 and I know beef prices went up. This places is priced as if they were a high end restaurant downtown. Bolgto might have made you popular for the soup but I wont be back while your overcharging. Randy's and Tinnels patties are better. Any Caribbean store making corn soup is just as good.

Ordered the Twice as Nice Peas and Rice plate with Jerk Soya, ital stew, and eggplant delight, plus a corn soup. The platter was really good, especially the soya jerk, the rice and eggplant. The soya jerk was so flavourful. The corn soup is on another level. It's very different from the Chinese-style corn soup that I'm used to, but it was such a good flavour. It has a very pleasant campfire taste - difficult to describe, but it was really good and hearty. The dishes are a bit on the expensive side, but it was a special treat, and it's a bonus that everything is fully vegan.

100% THE BEST corn soup I've had in my life! And I've traveled to carribean countries! The coconut water served in a fresh young coconut was super refreshing and brought me back to life after waiting in the sun. There was a long wait in line but super worth it! I'd line up again for food that clean, tasty and fresh! Real homemade good food! To top it off, the cook and the staff have incredible vibes! Super friendly, compassionate and accommodating! It's like being on a small island. They have that same hospitality. I LOVE this place and will drive again 30-40 mins just to eat there again!

This is a lovely establishment. Upon entering this establishment, we were greeted and then we looked over the menu. We then told staff what we wanted to order. Staff went in the back and prepared our order. Staff was fairly quick and efficient. Upon getting back to our place, we ate the food. All the food was good. My sisters and I particularly liked the Ethiopian split peas and greens. We also liked the plantains greatly. I would definitely recommend this establishment’s food!

Delicious vegan Ethiopian food I’ve ever had! The first time we came, we were painting a mural across the street & tried for the first time! It was so delicious we kept thinking about it for a year! We very far from here, but when we came back to the area we had to get this before leaving. Our favourite is the mac & cheese, bbq chunks & the corn soup! Love the owners 🤎 Support your local small business!

Had a great experience yes experience. The owner has a juice fruit stand where he cuts the fresh fruit and hands you a fresh coconut with a straw and a umbrella in it. Soo refreshing. Thats just the beginning the inside of the store if inviting and full of vegan goodies. The real joy is at the back at the hot table the selection of vegan Caribbean food will blow your mind. The mac and cheese is my favorite thing right next to his world famous corn soup.. This place is a must try. P.S YOUR WELCOME I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT REGRET GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY

Really welcoming store and restaurant with Caribbean and Ethiopian food. The grocery section has lots of cool products to check out (shea butter, Ethiopian decor, seeds and nuts etc) but unfortunately the food did not hit my sweet spot. The owner is friendly and relatively service was quick for takeaway. I had the chickpea roti and whilst the curry was okay the roti was very dry and generally the dish seemed overpriced. Perhaps I should have tried something else on the menu!

We had the most amazing time at vegan thali!!! We tried the carrot cake and banana cake, they were delicious (not too sweet), loved them so much! The owner is a gem. She brought hot and fresh carrot ginger soup for us to try and didn't even charge for the same. Undoubtedly, the soup was awesome as well! Will definitely be returning back to try more things from the menu.

Came here a few weeks ago after I was told to watch my diet and was also curious about Ethiopian food. The only item I truly enjoyed was the corn soup. Looks like I'm not an injera fan and some of the Thali dips weren't to my liking. Here's why I would still go back.. The lady there was really nice and showed me a lot of products that are beneficial to good health. From the short time I was there a lot of regulars came in and it's clear the store is a hub for the community. Another reason for me to return is to try the other menu items. There are some western dishes that they've made vegetarian that I'm sure I'll enjoy. Only one way to find out! We have a friend who is vegan coming to visit soon and I will definitely show them this place!

Found a food treasure for high quality vegan delights in Danforth, Toronto. I was served by the owner, a Ethiopian great cook and host:she roasted coffee beans, brewed and served in the original and traditional way of Ethiopia!! After all the birthplace of the best coffee is Ethiopia!! The food, magic served with rolls of injera bread... Superb! 5 stars, I'll be back. I bought 2 pounds of coffee beans, I'm enjoying now 😍

Shola Vegan Ithali, located at 2768 Danforth Avenue in Toronto, Ontario, is truly a hidden gem for vegans seeking delicious and authentic plant-based cuisine. I recently had the pleasure of ordering their Three Bean Soup and Oat Cookies, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. The Three Bean Soup was a flavor-packed bowl of goodness. The combination of beans was perfect – each lending its unique texture and taste to create a wholesome and hearty soup. The balance of flavors was spot on, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. It was clear that Shola Vegan Ithali takes pride in using high-quality ingredients to create their culinary masterpieces. What truly stood out, aside from the exceptional food, was the friendly and welcoming staff. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and attentive service. The staff members were incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and were more than happy to answer my questions, which made the entire dining experience feel personal and tailored. The ambiance of Shola Vegan Ithali was cozy and inviting. The traditional decor infused the space with a cultural charm, adding to the overall dining experience. It was evident that the owners are passionate about sharing the rich heritage of vegan cuisine with their customers.

A humble storefront and very warm hospitality with maybe the best mixed Ethiopian veggie platter on ingera that I've ever had. Quite honestly I was a bit suspicious at first, as it seemed more of a tiny store than eatery. Served on a plastic plate, each of the three veggie dishes were precisely seasoned and not overcooked as many dal and collard greens can be. The owner served us hot herbal tea and Ethiopian coffee, even heating up the whole beans in front of us.

The food that Alex prepares is amazing. The famous corn soup, Samosa, Garden salad, many more and drinks are so delicious with excellent customer service. I highly recommended any one from united states visits Canada, Toronto to stop by Shola Vegan I Thalia and try this quality food.

This place is amazing!! Alex is the best! This is African Soul food. Real food with real ingredients that leaves you feeling full and nourished. They have authentic etheopian groceries, good quality authentic spices and traditional plant based health products that work like a charm. They have exceptional Etheopian coffee roasted right in front of you with home made bread! A must go!

Had a great experience to get some take out here. The woman at the front provided such great customer service and provided some healthy drink samples as I awaited my order. Definitely recommend anyone in the area to check this place out! Got some lovely incense here as well. Lots of variety at this establishment!

My friend and I went for a walk along Danforth the other day, and I saw this place was vegan so I had to check it out. Nice little shop to look around in, and the staff were very friendly! We decided to get the plate with 4 options so we picked the macaroni pie, jerk tofu, kidney bean stew, and eggplant. The food was fresh and flavourful, and a lot of it was new to me! Never had macaroni pie before but I loved the flavour combination of whatever spices were in there (I definitely tasted some mustard and that brought it all together). The kidney beans had a creamy coconut milk sauce that balanced really well with the pie. The jerk soy was sweeter than I expected, but I loved it. My friend, who isn’t vegan, said it was his favourite thing! I really enjoyed the variety of all the foods. The two ladies working there were very friendly and welcoming. We had a nice conversation with them while the food was being made, and they gave us some injera bread with an amazing sauce to try while we were waiting! I don’t know what the sauce was because I’m not too familiar with Ethiopian food, but it was red/orange, rich and flavourful. I don’t live in the area, but I will find an excuse to be back!

Tried the samosas and one of the veggie dishes and both were delicious. It was probably made on the spot with fresh ingredients cause it took some time. We also got offered a Turmeric Juice which was great. The prices were decent especially considering the high quality food and ingredients used. Don't expect fast food prices or quality. This is real food; nutritous, tasty and healthy.

this place is amazing! Truly one of a kind from traditional Ethiopian coffee/ceremony to natural made in store pick me up including beet juice, seamoss, fenugreek and many more! Along with that are some of the best vegan Ethiopian Caribbean style dishes. You can also expect to get a healthier but just as tasty dessert as well.

I found this gem by chance while walking along the Danforth and remembered that I had been wanting to pick up Berbere spice. To my surprise, this shop also sells Ethiopian groceries and takeout, including injera! A wonderful staff kindly offered tips for how I could store the injera and was appreciative of the support for local businesses. She gave such positive vibes that I will definitely return! I'm glad to see that there are positive reviews and a website to share this shop with the community.

Tasty. Pretty expensive. But the breads and macaroni are gluten free! And vegan meat options. Bit of a wait to get food. Got some tasty snackers in the store.

The best food and service experience. I’ve never been to Ethiopia but this adorable lady made me feel like I’ve just got a short getaway there. The corn soup is a must try dish!

The food is really tasty, fresh and healthy. So far I've tried their injera plate, lentil stew, chickpeas, pumpkin and macaroni pie and each was so flavorful and nutritious. It's definitely worth it either for someone vegan or not.

I was in a rush to host dinner, so I called in and asked for a few of their popular dishes. They got the food ready very quickly and my guests were all impressed with the taste and quality. Thank you so much. I will come back.

Great food made with love! We usually order the Corn soup, Sheppard's pie, jerk soy, perfect pumpkin, and a box of lentil patties to take home. On a hot day, a fresh coconut is perfect for cooling down! The store also has spices for sale - I highly recommend you try cooking with the Berbere spice blend

Delightful and welcoming Ethiopian / Caribbean style vegan thali. They offer patties, injera, jerk, macaroni pie, and tons more. They’ve also got green coffee beans and traditional Ethiopian coffee equipment. There’s a little grocery store for hard to find Caribbean and African spices. We were greeted with a sample of delicious soup, and so much kindness and warmth! Definitely worth a stop
