MUST TRY! We ordered the Khao Soi ($15 with rice noodle) and the Tom Yum stir fry ($15 with sweet potato noodle) and both were packed with flavour and so delicious. They were both a bit spicy which we loved. It's definitely a hole in the wall and you might miss it if you're not actively looking for it - but you will not regret trying this place!! Sooo much tastier than the other overrated Thai places in Toronto

We loved Mugi!! They offer a highly unique and diverse menu and their service is super friendly and satisfying. We tried the Hang Leh jackfruit curry, Khao Soi noodles and taro donuts, all of which were very delicious! In addition, when we were enquiring about a kind of banana-looking fruit they had on display, the staff explained very patiently and gave us two to taste!

This is a hidden gem that my boyfriend and I happily stumbled upon. The food and atmosphere felt so authentic; like I stepped out of Toronto and into another country. We ordered the Tom Kha Soup, Tom Yum Stir Fry Noodle and Khao Niew Bing for dessert - all were fantastic. Filled with flavour, textures, and fresh ingredients with fragrant herbs. Highly recommend to anyone in the area who’s looking for something different from the typical Thai restaurant experience in Toronto. The cherry on top is that their whole menu is plant based and the restaurant is eco conscious. We will definitely be coming back to try their other dishes - we overheard nothing but rave reviews from all the customers in store.

Really delicious massaman curry. Very friendly owners that are keen to share their passion for this food. The Chef is from Northern Thailand so you’re getting the real deal. I will definitely be returning.

As a Thai food lover, but not a vegan, I was curious (and a bit skeptical) about plant-based Thai food. I was surprised, Mugi makes some of the tastiest Thai food I've had in a while. Bold flavours, and some Thai dishes you won't find at other restaurants. Seems like a labour of love.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Especially for the Drunken Noodle with unique flavour and their dishes come with big portions. Must try!

Honestly Mugi is a place with a very specific identity & so some will very much enjoy it some will not. You cannot book a table in advance, and it has a lot of foot traffic meaning competition for the few larger tables for a party beyond 1-2 is fierce. You do not ask for water but serve yourself from a communal water station, which is certainly convenient but not for everyone. The business is mostly built around take out meaning food comes fast & hot which is a definite positive, but they also ask for your full order tip included at the beginning then ask if you're dining in or doing take out. All of this frankly would probably kill a place with a less defined niche, but Mugi does that one thing, vegan thai food very very well. The drunken noodles had plenty of onion without drowning out the spices, the cassava had a good springy texture, & the dumplings were the perfect temperature after dipping. I honestly think though take out is still ideal as the food definitely takes center stage & my sitting in didn't really add to the experience so much as detract from it. I'm not overly fussy but if I'm handed a fork & spoon then moments after party B is asked if they'd like chopsticks or a fork and spoon, that gives me pause. Not a bad place for flavorful food and the portions while not enormous are solid for the location, I would say give it a shot for takeout sometime with a smaller order before taking a plunge.

The food is very flavourful and the service was very nice. Had the pad Thai and the Khao Soi noodles and both were very fresh and tasty. Definitely would drop by here again!

Small eatery offering Thai vegan dishes. Loved the green curry and the drunken noodles! Would definitely recommend both those dishes. The dumplings weren’t as impressive as the main meals! Service is friendly and fast considering it was a team of two. There’s some indoor sitting but the restaurant is cosy so I would call in advance.

Must try hidden gem in the city!!! I love the fact that they change their menu pretty often, so there is always something new to try. I tried their Khao Soi I believe and it was crafted so well with fresh ingredients. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. Vegetarian friendly 🌱 | Thai food 💚 | Hidden gem 💎 | Vegan 💛

MUGI is a delightful pocket Vegan Thai restaurant on the SE corner of Bathurst and Bloor, staffed with a great dedicated team, with compact seating where I had their (pictured) delicious Khao Soy - Sweet potato noodle, tofu, shiitake mushroom, coconut milk, house-made Khao Soy curry paste, garnish: pickled cabbage, crispy onion, red onion, lime wedge, coriander. They are on their well deserved break until the beginning of February

I ordered the Autumn curry and Massaman cashews last night, but I forgot to write a review. I’ve never had vegan Thai food before, but Mugi exceeded my expectations. At first I assumed the food would taste weird, but it’s actually quite authentic. The autumn curry was delicious and very wholesome. You can tell that it was made from scratch. I couldn’t stop eating the MSM cashews, they’re so addictive. I literally devoured it. Can’t wait to order from them again. อร่อยมากเลยค่ะ

Absolutely delicious food made with intent. Is one of my recent fav spots in the city for authentic plant based Thai. The fact that they refresh their menu monthly to add more items, is commendable. 10/10 would recommend

Every single dish is a work of art! Delicious food with the most incredible flavours. The menu changes monthly, and features fresh, seasonal ingredients. Each dish is perfectly executed. Every time I visit Toronto, Mugi is the highlight of my trip – I would fly to Toronto just to eat here. This tiny hole-in-the-wall may be the best restaurant in the world.

Druken Noodle - beautifully spicy and sour sauce, good rice noodle but the tofus are bland. Excited to try other dishes here.

We were fortunate that Mugi took our take out order during the Christmas holidays even though they were closed. Food was phenomenal and was hit with the family... the best plant based thai food I have ever had. Mugi will be added to regular fooding places even though its a 25mins drive.... in my opinion totally worth it.

Simply among the best Thai in the city period, plant-based or not. The autumn curry is sensational; alive with bright flavours, it warms the soul in all seasons. Can’t wait to try more dishes soon.

I visited this restaurant on a friend's recommendation. I could already smell the nice aroma before entering the restaurant. 5 stars for the food quality, 4 for the quantity. But 3 stars for one of the staff. He was polite but not really friendly. He didn't say hi and talked in an emotionless dreary monotone. So overall 3.5 stars.

I was very happy to find this place when I visited the Korea town. So nice to have the option of vegan eatery that does not just do the same as others, but offered vegan food from specific region or country, in this case Thai food. I ordered Massaman curry, Green curry and Hang Leh Jackfruit curry to go. My husband and I enjoyed it very much, it was delicious! His favorite was the Green curry, for me, I thought it would be Hang Leh, but now I'm eating the left over for lunch...I love all the three curries LOL. And this was the first time I tried Hang Leh curry ever. I look forward to trying out other items on their menu. Owners were lovely, and friendly. I came there about 12:30 so they were not yet busy and got to chat with one of the owners about the restaurant, business, the food, etc. We wish you continued success, and hope to see you both again soon!

The food is pretty good. Small, focused menu. Very small restaurant that's busy with take out orders. All vegan. Khao soi is spicy, curry spring rolls are unique.

Ordered takeout via ubereats. I got the drunken fried rice ($15) and the turmeric tofu ($6). Fried rice was okay, small portion size and loads of veggies but it was kinda bland. Didn’t taste much of the drunken sauce flavour. Tofu was raw… 3/5 Turmeric tofu was pretty bad. 1/5 literally raw tofu cubes in what tasted like turmeric mixed with water, threw it out Overall 3/5 healthy food but kinda bland at least for my tastes, keep in mind I’m south asian so I like my thai flavours stronger. Mugi just didn’t deliver.

Amazing, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful staff. Super fresh, flavourful food. I can't eat onions and they were able to accommodate 👏 . Also amazing that its all gluten free and they use sustainable packaging. Will definitely be going back for more!

Pros: Friendly service/Lots of vegan options/Overall taste is good Cons: Expensive for what you get/Not enough toppings/Taste can be better

Disappointing, in a word. If you're looking for good vegan food, this is NOT it. If you're craving traditional Thai, this will elicit cries of "what the **** is this?!" I'm not sure what they were doing for 40 minutes cooking our meal, but it did NOT involve cooking the tofu. Tofu, properly seared or fried, is delicious. This tofu satay was sad. Larb was tough and bland. Khao Soy was a glorified lunch bowl, and not even a good one. Mugi only escapes a 1 star by being bland and unsatisfying rather than memorably awful.

Visited this lovely restaurant for the first time yesterday and I must say I will definitely return. Mugi is a tiny space with big taste. We were lucky to find available seats. The staff were friendly and obviously busy with takeout orders but they were ready to take our dinner order as soon as we finished reviewing the menu. Such wonderful options for the Thai food lover! And safe for people with many different food restrictions. As a person with celiac disease, reading on their website that they're completely gluten-free is a real treat! I ordered the Green Curry which was incredibly flavourful, spiced perfectly... meaning hot! (And of the spicy menu items, apparently that's a mild one.) I will definitely return on a future trip to Toronto to try more from their menu, both non-spicy and maybe some even hotter options.

So-so food, easy ordering, very nice staff. Substitutes spicyness for flavour richness. Our meals have been rather listless which is the opposite of what’s expected for Thai. 4 stars because they ARE very friendly so I wish them luck as their creations develop and mature.

So delicious and flavorful! I recommend the tom yum noodle and my mother got a curry. We loved that there are gluten free options and want to return to try more.

Hands down without a doubt the best vegan Thai food I have ever had. As a plant based restaurant the portion sizes are too small, it needs to be doubled. Us plant only eaters need a higher volume of food. Will definitely be back.
