Uber Eats Review: We decided to give the delivery service a try one night and the food was really good. Don’t get me wrong, if you have a chance to go eat it fresh in the restaurant do that instead as it’s probably much better but we still had no complaints at home. The Family meal was a pretty good deal overall. The Souvlaki and Salad were really good and the rice and roast potatoes were awesome. Looking forward to going there to dine in one day as I’m sure fresh and hot to table can’t be beat 👌🏼

Had a great dine in experience at their patio on a busy Friday evening. Service was fast, and staff were super friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and well seasoned, seemed very authentic and homey. Entrees have huge portions (enough for 2 hungry people to share). Drinks were reasonably priced.

The food here is authentic and exceptional, unfortunately, I have to give it a low score because there was an ant 🐜 crawling in our bread. While I appreciate that I was brought fresh bread upon raising the issue, I don’t think the health and safety issue was treated with the level of importance that it represented. I’m hoping someone can get in contact with me; I’m happy to revisit the restaurant and this review under the right circumstances.

Great cosy place in a prime Greek town location, with a family-run restaurant vibe. Very friendly staff and superb food-to-table delivery after we ordered our food. We had a sampler platter, which was very good and consisted of; hummus, cheese and fish roe. The octopus was sublime and hands down the highlight of the evening. We also ordered the moussaka, cod and the love boat (sizzling chicken, cheese and eggplant). I must say not a single food item was left by the end of the evening and every dish we ordered was great! I would recommend for authentic Greek taste and really must compliment the great food, service and ambience they create and manage, good job!

I’ve been here many times, and I finally got a chance to do a review. This is undoubtedly my favourite restaurant in the Danforth, Greek town area. Their good is always great, their service is always excellent, and the restaurant is small and cozy. Four of us went here for dinner, made a reservation for a Friday night. Unique thing about this place is that they used to take you to the kitchen to show their specials for the day. After Covid, they don’t do that any more, which is a shame. Regardless, the food is excellent. If you are a lamb lover, you will have many great choices. We always start with the saga ski, just perfect. We ordered the chicken and pork souvlaki dinners and the gyro dinner. All were excellent. The meat tastes so good, and the potatoes melt in your mouth. They have an assortment of Greek wine, have tried a few of them.

Tasty food, generous portion, clean and nice dining environment. Peas with potato was very rich and good to go with bread. Village Lamb is the best lamb I have tried so far in Toronto. Lamb is well cooked and rich in taste. Moussaka is good also. We dropped by for the first time but will definitely come back. Update after few visits. A great place for lamb. They have land special of a day over weekend or certain weekdays. Have tried their lamb special few times, never got disappointed. Village Lamb is their signature for sure. House wine is good. You are not able to get it anywhere else unfortunately. Service is great and the owner is nice.

Fantastic Greek restaurant ! Was highly recommend this place by friends ! Great atmosphere! Very friendly staff & excellent customer service. We tried the appetizers Calamari, grilled octopus, pita bread with assorted sauces (spicy cheese, eggplant hummus, tzatziki) & chicken soup w fresh lemon and the Flaming Cheese (Saganaki). Their souvlaki meats were juicy and very tender. Food was excellent! Will definitely visit again & recommend to family & friends!

I tried Athen's for the first time a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. - Good portion - Slightly on the expensive side - Protein was tender, juicy and well seasoned - Rice was good perfectly and well seasoned - Potatoes were cooked perfectly the first time I ordered and the second time it was slightly undercooked - Could use more tzatziki sauce for the portion of food

Athens Restaurant is one of my favourite Greek restaurants in Toronto, located in the heart of Toronto’s Greektown on Danforth. It offers a cozy inside seating as well as patio on the sidewalk in the summer. The dishes here use simple ingredients and seasoning like EVOO, but offer a lot of flavour that fulfills all my desire to Greek food. I would recommend the Village Salad and Grilled Calamari, which are my favourite here at Athens Restaurant! Taste: 4/5 | Service: 4/5 | Value: 4/5

I had heard many great things about Athens pre-pandemic lockdown, unfortunately I didn't make it before everything closed down. I was told that when you go in you have a great selection of daily specials that change each day. I was disappointed that I didn't make it but when I found them on Uber Eats or Skip The Dishes (hard to remember which one) I had to order. We ordered the souvlaki family meal deal and the price was fair. Both the chicken and pork were well cooked and tasted great. The rice was well seasoned and I could have eaten double. I wasn't the biggest fan of the potatoes but I rarely am unless they're fried. My one complaint is the food wasn't as hot as I'd like but that's because it was a long drive to get to us. I recommend going on because it's a 100 times better. I finally got to go and sit down for a nice meal and wow! It's a small family run restaurant and it really shows when you're interacting with the staff. Everyone was friendly and the owner really seems like he wants to get to know you (I'm assuming he was the owner). When sitting in we ordered everything from the daily special menu and it was all great. Every dish was authentic Greek. The stuffed peppers were some of the best I've tried. The moussaka was as good as mom's (how she never read this), I wanted seconds but I was getting stuffed. My favorite was the filo wrapped lamb, which is difficult and time consuming to make. The lamb was juicy and tender, the vegetables were fresh, the cheese perfectly melted and the filo was flaky. When you go to Athens skip the same old souvlaki and eat the real home made Greek food. Check out the specials menu. You will not be disappointed. I'm going back until I've tried everything on their menu.

First time I tried moussaka and I'm sure it is among the best on the Danforth. It tasted just as good as it looks. Never had tomatoes that good before. The Christmas decorations and music were perfect choices. I stayed a few min after my meal to take it in before I left. Perfect spot for a date!

As authentic as it gets! The food is beyond excellent especially if you order from the traditional dishes menu. I definitely recommend trying as many as possible. The village lamb is a stand-out but you cant go wrong with the octopus and the Saganaki. The place is very homie and warm perfect for a group dinner!

Excellent food, service & atmosphere. Arguably 1 of the best Greek meals I’ve had in Toronto. There deserts are fantastic as well. It’s a smaller restaurant, so I would recommend to make reservations prior to going in especially if you are a bigger group.

Athena restaurant has a nice atmosphere and delicious saganaki. The cheese is crispy and gooey, and the lemon adds a fresh touch. The service is friendly and the place is cozy. I love this Greek restaurant!

Loved the lamb skewers and unique dips (fish roe and garlic… it was SUPER garlicky!). Servers were kind and the portions were huge. Only downside was that there seemed to be a ton of wasps flying around.

We arrived without reservations during the busy summer season. They were able to accommodate us on their outdoor seating. I think because it was around 5 pm (early evening still). We had the sampler plate with 3 spreads. Greek salad, a noodle dish with minced meat and a bechamel sauce all baked to perfection. Plus a gyro plate. We had Greek beer and 2 desserts. Baklava being a staple of course! It was such a festive atmosphere even though the tables are just on the sidewalk. People watching galore as well as the family feel of all the dinner guests. Such a relaxing evening.

A stand out spot on the souvlaki strip! I've lived near the Danforth my whole life and only tried this place recently. Unlike many of the Greek restaurants in the area, I find Athens does a really good job at delivering an authentic Greek experience, from the menu options (whole fish, roasted lamb) to the atmosphere. If you can only try one Greek restaurant in the Danforth, this is my pick. I'm looking forward to trying out more of the menu when they have their extensive patio in the summer.

Literally amazing food, truly a hidden gem on danforth. Loved the lamb chops, lamb keftee, chicken souvlaki on a stick. We also really enjoyed the dolmades, feta in phyllo and Greek fries.

A cozy small restaurant that serves up nice Greek dishes. The olive oil was high quality. Can't remember the name or grape variety of the glass of wine that I ordered, but it went well with the lamb dish that I had.

Fantastic Greek food! Great neighbourhood joint that has been here for a long time serving delicious, quality food with great service. Will definitely be coming back especially to try their Saganaki. We had their chicken souvlaki dinner- super tender with delicious char. My absolute favourite was the Greek salad on the side - the first olive experience that didn't leave me wincing because of how salty they usually are. Super creamy feta on top and fresh and sweet tomatoes. We also had their village lamb - very hearty and filling. Would recommend ordering this if you're hungry.

This is now my new favourite Greek resto on the Danforth. Ordered from the chef's menu and was not disappointed (had the Love Boat). Also got take out from the regular menu (Gyro dinner) and was impressed by the quality and portion size. Will definitely return.. Multiple times I'm sure, because I plan to eat my way through the whole menu.

Great place! Staff is amazing! We were in Toronto for the evening. They had an event and did not have tables available. They found us a table. Food and service were great! Highly recommend. Family atmosphere. Authentic Greek food!
