You can count on Cluny to consistently deliver a good experience. Beautiful interiors, gorgeous patio, great service and good food. Have been for brunch, lunch, dinner, events.. always consistent. We got all the items to share between 3 people. They were all good. No one dish outshone the rest or outshined in general. I think the bread pudding is really rich and heavy and is an excellent brunch “dessert” dish. But might be too rich and sweet on its own. Steak was well cooked but a little chewy. Lobster Benny was good, the pastry is so flaky. All in all, as always, a consistent experience.

A little tougher for people like me as it hardly has anything to eat that is vegetarian or vegan. With that said, we had a chance to taste the cocktails, and it was great. The ambience was so good. Their patio in lit in the nights and if you're fond of taking photos, do not miss this place. The staffs were very friendly, and I was surprised because you could check in your coat as well which most of the other restaurants in Distillery district doesn't have.

All of the food was amazing there. The budgets were fresh and fluffy. I had boar meat for the first time but it was tender and smooth. The desserts were very unique and cute, and not only the presentations but also really tasty. It’d be one of my favorite restaurants in the Distillery District.

Our server was Armando I believe and he was very friendly and attentive. I had to look around for him a few times to get my water filled, but whenever I found him and caught his attention he was very prompt. He got the order wrong for one of the people in our group which was a slight irritation, but thoroughly apologized and tried to correct it as best possible. Two of us had the steak and potatoes, another two had the shore lunch both which were really great and I would order again! We order the chocolate bread pudding which was good and sweet, the bread basket, and the sesame crusted asparagus. I really enjoyed the asparagus with the sauce as well! We also had the mocktail lavendre I believe was the name which was quite tasty and I would order again. Overall very happy with this place and definitely going back.

Many good things to say of my last visit to Cluny. Our server was lovely and quick to attend us. He made sure we spend a nice evening. The food was sublime, on point with the flavors and perfectly cooked. The butter on the bread basket is amazing, it’s so worth to ask for it. The salmon and the steak we ordered was mouthwatering and I cannot begin to say how much I loved our chocolate sabarin dessert. It was amazing and I absolutely loved it, they pulled up simple components that ended up being quite lovely and chocolatey, as I adore. 5 out of 5 stars without a question. Already looking forward to come back again.

I came here with a friend on Friday night and the service was phenomenal! The kitchen was moving a bit slower (which we were fine with, we had drinks to hold us over!) and multiple staff members dropped by the table to apologize and offer a complementary desert for the slowness. Every single person who came by was so genuinely kind, it really made our night. I wish I could remember their names to make this more personal. The food & drinks were also amazing, absolutely delicious!!

This restaurant was recommended to us by one of our friends during our visit. And it was AMAZING. We love French food and we’ve had French food in many cities and countries around the world. This restaurant has to be one of the best French food we ever had. Everything is fresh and amazing. The bread and desserts are over the top. The drinks were also great. The service was amazing. Our server was friendly and very polite. The atmosphere is also great.

Great place with nice atmosphere, especially sitting outside in the patio with all the lights..food was fine, but we didn’t like their version of bouillabaisse - nothing to compare with original receipt and even nothing special about it. Pasta was ok…we expected more. Wine and deserts were truly great! Service was friendly, even over performing.. Nice experience

Nice restaurant in the distillery area, just okay food. Remember years ago it was super tasty but recent visit, it didn't meet expectations given the vibe/prices Couldn't taste the beef given how strong the mustard flavor just masked everything. The bouillabaisse lacked flavor. A mix of seafood that the broth could have way bigger of a punch Papperdelle dish was the best of the 3 but not anything special behind it Seems like a nice restaurant to take the family out or celebration, but the food could be better

We got in just in time for the half price wine deal so we stayed for dinner. The main dining area was pretty busy so we ate in the bar area, and to tell you the truth, I think I prefer it. Our waitress was awesome, she was a true waitress. We had questions about items on the menu and she took the time to answer. The bonus was that our waitress was very knowledgeable and everything tasted as she said it would. The food, while a bit on the pricey side was well worth it. It was my first time trying brie brulee and it was awesome, I would definitely recommend it. The wild boar pappardelle, which was also a first was an excellent choice, it was melt in your mouth tender and I believe the noodles were made in house which were amazing. Overall a great dining experience and I'll be going back.

It was my second time at Cluny Bistro. The service was a bit lax considering they were not busy at that time. After being seated I opted for tap water instead of the fancy labels our attendant was suggesting. The water came luke warm on a very hot evening. I again requested for some ice which never came. We chose a sizzler of Trout, which was well done and appetizing. For a side we had bread basket but the breads were chewy as if from a day before. The tea we ordered was beautiful looking. Enjoyed my time there overall..

I wanted to visit Thai place for a long time already and finally got there . I was amazed by restaurants size . It’s huge . It has such a great design inside. Every corner is so well designed and so beautiful! Even the ceiling decorated beautifully. I can’t stop saying about the decor and how everything is so well designed. The toilets are wide and designed . Everything we ordered tastes delicious. The onions soup is delicious. The service was great . We had a great time and definitely will come back .

I had the pleasure of dining at a Cluny Bistro recently and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance and decor of the restaurant transported me to France. The beautiful design of the restaurant was elegant and sophisticated, yet cozy and inviting at the same time. The attention to detail in the interior design was impressive, with everything from the lighting to the furniture creating a charming and romantic atmosphere. The flavors were absolutely phenomenal and every dish was a true work of art. The dishes were beautifully presented, and the colors and textures of the food were vibrant and enticing. I could tell that the chef had put a lot of effort and care into every dish, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in each bite. From the rich, creamy sauces to the perfectly cooked meats, every dish was a masterpiece. Highly recommend and a must try place if your in Toronto. 🚨🚨❤️❤️😋😋🥐🥮

A lovely place to sit down for a nice meal. The setting and service is top notch. The food is good as well, but it's only part of the experience. The interiors have been well designed and there's a central station where a member of the kitchen staff is constantly shucking oysters. Outdoors, they have a beautiful patio lit with twinkle lights.

The place is adorable! I loved the romantic and heart-warming atmosphere with subdued lights. The Cluny team is fantastic, friendly and polite. Our food was delicious, steak was amazing and it comes with perfect french fries. Just look at that cute dessert! Thank you for such a wonderful and enjoyable evening. I would definitely recommend✨

Such a cute restaurant! So authentically French! Menu has a great variety of small and large plates. Great for sharing! Servers were knowledgeable and helpful. The food was amazing! We devoured everything! I highly recommended eating here. The kale salad and French onion soup were to die for! Can’t wait to return!

Wonderful experience. Went with best friend for a late lunch while enjoying the Christmas market two days ago. I wanted to thank the Italian manager. Was loud and I couldn’t hear his name but he went above and beyond for me and made sure I got some amazing focaccia to take home with me! He didn’t even charge me! Super nice guy :) The kale salad was delicious and I always enjoy their selection of teas and baked goods. Highly recommend the environment. Beautiful restaurant!

I used to enjoy dining here years ago. The atmosphere and ambience is fantastic - feels like you're not in Toronto. With that being said, the handful of times over the years that I've been back for meetings, lunch, or dinner - I've noticed a steady decline in the service and food. Most notably the hanger steak - that was the go to. It was a good price and a tasty option. Now the steak options feel underwhelming and over priced. We would be offered extra bread/baguette for the pate - everything's increased 20-30% in price. The pappardelle pasta was undercooked and wild boar sauce was watery. I probably won't be back for the food. It's still worth coming here for a glass of wine or cocktail in the outdoor dining area.

Nothing about this place is French. Service was rushed, place is noisy, crowded and packed even during Covid. Beard is $6.60. Butter is an extra $2.00. Wine ($18-$20/glass) and beer ($12) prices are out of this world. Ordered French onion soup but never came. My confit of duck leg is one small piece without the bone… what can I say, a total tourist trap.

We went with some friends Friday night. It was a good experience. The service was very good, actually we was impressed with how many people work there. The food is well plated and well made. The menu is chic and variety. My husband ordered a fish, he didn't like the sides but he ate the entire fish. I order a steak and was delightful.

We were looking 👀 for a new place where we can try a good 👍 brunch experience and some fresh juice 🧃 . So, we decided to visit Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie located in Toronto Downtown, ON. Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie is a lovely 😊 place. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city 🏙️ in spite of being in the city 🌃. There’s an ample paid parking 🅿️ space around the building but on the weekends it’s gets difficult to find. The place has the huge indoor seating arrangements as well as outside (depending upon the weather conditions) and the seating arrangement is super comfortable and spacious.

The staff is really nice, friendly and kept following 🆙. The brunch menu is great and there are many great 👍 options to choose from and they also offer quite a lot of small bites options to choose from.

Pricing is slightly upper keeping the ambiance and DT effect, good value for money and the place is more suitable for a group of people.

What a beautiful place! Inside and especially outside. The patio has such a romantic feel to it, it's a must visit. We ordered crispy asparagus for starters and steak and fish and chips for mains. We found the food was good. But just good, nothing exceptional. Actually, I did love the shoestring fries. However, we got a lemon tart and le coconut desserts and I must have died and gone to heaven. The best lemon tart I ever had. It's just so well done. Coconut dessert came in this beautiful round serving dish and it tasted like heaven. We were so impressed. I guess France is known for their desserts so I shouldn't be surprised that they delivered. It's just so darn good. I'll be back just for the desserts alone if nothing else... Oh, and that patio. Fairy lights make anything magical.

Really nice vibe. The patio setup is very nice and gives a French vibe if you have ever traveled to France. The food is very good, though I wasn't overall impressed with their french toast. But their braised beef short rib was really well done. Great job! The presentation is great, the food temperature is good. The waiters/hostess are friendly and personable, there is enough space between you and the other patrons. There was something missing from the French toast. It was very rich and I was not a fan of the cream at the top. I have had better French toast. The drinks are GREAT and I loved that they accommodated me when I asked about their sweet cocktails. They went a step further and offered additional syrup. For that GREAT service they get a 5 stars for me. Great spot for date night or a friend's outing. Totally recommending this spot and I will definitely try something else on the menu in the future.

We came here for dinner and the French onion soup and fresh bread basket were delicious! Although the service was extremely slow, we were okay with that because we were talking and enjoying each other's company. The wrong steak was made for me and so by the time they re-made it, I got it after everyone else ate their meals. On top of that, it was made raw when I asked for medium. The manager was wonderful.

Had a wonderful experience at Cluny bistro, for the most part. The service is super friendly and very attentive. The food is clean, full of flavor and decadent. My only negative comment is that they try to squeeze too many tables into a small space. I understand that more tables means more customers but the tables are much too close together to the point that the servers even have trouble getting around without bumping into you. I would highly recommend that management take a look at this as it takes away from wanting to come back. Other than that, great place. We had the steak frites, which was the most tender steak and the crepes flambe which was amazing as well.

I got the duck sandwich. If you like duck but want something a little different, it's a good call. Burger was standard but good. Wasn't a huge fan of the fried cause they tasted like they had an all dress chip seasoning but if you like that I am sure u will enjoy it

We had a wonderful time at Cluny. The food and service were wonderful I very much enjoyed the Monkfish. Everyone was gracious and accommodating- and I would like to give a special thanks to the Manager for accommodating our request to be moved to a specific table.

Cluny's is a huge French bistro in Distillery, they have a massive footprint and they have been around for ages. You can enjoy both indoor and outdoor dining here. We also love their bar area. The decor is so cozy and captivating. We are always pleased by the selection of wines, shareable starters, quality of food and great service. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Good decor and good location. Some very good food like the duck confit and endive salad , good one like onion soup. Bread basket is fair at best. Cheese plate was good with the condiments like honey but the cheese was okay. Washroom was very clean and the hand towel paper was of high soft quality! The waiter was just a bit better than Earl's, lacks details, not knowledgeable with the food ingredients or source of the food, or just not working hard enough. Served a cheese platter but didn't know what the details of the cheese. He knows the beers okay though. Booking was easy for a Wednesday night. The street side like patio area was very pleasant for a warm evening. Credit card machine tried to solicit a 20% tipping on line 1. Watch out.

If you would like to visit winter village at distillery district, please check out this beautiful restaurant. Honestly, I do not have high expectation since distillery district is a tourist zone. When my friends and I arrived at the restaurant, the European style interior design caught my attention. The bistro offers small and large plate. I strongly recommend to share the dishes to enjoy variety. Cocktail menu also provides a lot of options. A lovely brunch always starts with a good drink. We ordered 2 small and 2 large plates. Portion is good and we had a lovely time in the bistro. Our favourite dishes is mushrooms tartine. It has strong mushroom aroma but also a hint of acidity to balance buttery and richness of the dish. We didn’t order the dessert this afternoon. The menu doesn’t sound attractive to us and also we were very full. After a big and fulfilling brunch, you could have a nice walk in this historic area and enjoy the winter villages special.

Disclaimer: review of the bakery only. Convenient cafe just off the side of the main restaurant serves coffee, petit fours, sandwiches, and pastries. The fruit danish is topped with bright, fresh berries and the puff pastry is delectable. Would definitely recommend! Nice spot to grab a light breakfast or snack in the Distillery District. My only qualm was that it was a humid day and I was hoping to get a cup of tap water with my pastry and coffee; unfortunately that was not available.

Beautiful place, the waiter was so friendly and polite. The food wasn’t good and was pricey. I recommend just for having a drink in an amazing patio, but not food.

Our dining experience was impacted by what appeared to be a lack of adequate training for our server. After serving our meal, the waiter promptly left the area, necessitating our request for steak knives and spoons from another staff member to facilitate sharing the meal. The waiter returned towards the end of our meal. Additionally, when inquired about the bread selection from the central bread table, he was unable to provide information. This aspect of the service did not meet our expectations for a seamless dining experience.

Mussels and flat iron steak are so yummy. Baguette and whipped butter is totally a favourite of mine. And the frites are skinny just like I like them. I love this place! We asked for all baguette in our bread basket and if you don't plan on getting a dish with frites, make sure you ask them for a side of fries for just $5.

Wonderful atmosphere. Flavorful dishes with decent portion. Their menu is very similar to those restaurants provided in France.

  • 5/5 Celine R. 4 months ago on Google
If this system allowed for quarter stars Cluny would be a solid 4.75. The decor and atmosphere transport you to what one might imagine an upscale Parisian bistro should look like. The service is head & shoulders above most, with extra attention and expediency for kids’ orders so parents can also enjoy their experience. The menu is decided French, but not in a stuffy way. Many dishes are well balanced and executed with care, and the house made breads and croissants are a must. The vol-au-vent lobster Benny is worth the splurge. Only critiques is I would have liked it slightly more seasoned and the lobster cooked for 1 minute less. That they accept brunch reservations and can fairly easily accommodate larger groups is extra icing on the cake. Would recommend for any occasion.

The location and atmosphere are great, the food, decent. We had the tartare, the french onion soup, the steak frites and the black cod. Tartare was about average; they seem to use a touch of tomato in it and mix it up at your table. The onion soup is a star of the appetizer menu and was quite tasty and hearty. The steak frites was the star of the larger plates, with the meat quality being high but a tad overcooked, and the jus being a great dip. The garlic aioli had horseradish in it. The black cod was disappointing, as the green curry simply overwhelmed the fish and left the fish and lentils tasting...like curry. It was even more of a shame when we learnt that the menu used to include a seared black cod with puff rice and chicken skin instead of the curry one. Bein, que sera sera

You feel like you are out on the town with this dining experience. Great background music and people chatting around the restaurant creates a pretty cool vibe. Service is professional and friendly and food quality and presentation won’t disappoint you. I had grilled branzino. Very tasty and fresh. Kale salad also very delicious.

The food has a good presentation but lack of flavours, the soups are heavenly overdone, missing the French touch in every dish. The service… mmm we were celebrating a birthday we told them since we booked and as soon as we arrived but they didn’t care… the server never came back to pour wine since he opened first… we had to get up to call them to get water in our glasses… the washroom didn’t have towels to dry your hands and they don’t have blowers… lots staff running around doing other things instead of looking after the patrons. This is my third time there and hasn’t improved. Just my experience. The place is spectacular the bar is beautiful.

5 star Sunday brunch ✨️. First time dinning at Cluny. Food was very tasty and arrived quickly, great presentation, service prompt and attentive, lovely atmosphere, restaurant was pleasantly busy, dinners enjoying themselves. Make a reservation ahead of time, they fill up quickly. We had Smoked Salmon Tower (great to share), Chicken Liver Pate (very nice dish) and Steak Frites. Very pleasant lunch. Great layout with bistro and a bar at the front, and a beautiful restaurant in the back. Will be back to try more dishes. - Read less

I had the most exquisite dining experience at this restaurant! The beef tartine and escargots transported me to another world, and the chicken liver pate was truly amazing. The innovative twist on the espresso martini with pistachio was a flavor revelation, becoming my ultimate favorite cocktail. The attention to detail in the atmosphere, plates, and design was stunning, and the outdoor patio was simply delightful. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal!

It's my first time visiting Distillery District and we had a great time, we dine at Cluny after touring around the area. We don't have a reservation, we sat at the patio, dining area is very elegant we really want to try next time. Our server(the bartender) was super friendly, gave good recommendations too. We just had small bites due to dinner plan, but that already makes me fall in love with this place! We are definitely coming back for more delicious food next time!!

Overall this place is a beautifully designed and aesthetically pleasing venue in the heart of the distillery district of Toronto. Great location and ample seating inside and out. We were greeted with friendly staff and our server was helpful and respectful of time/pace/questions. We decided on small plates and drinks since we were not hungry for full meals. Also ordered two kids meals (grilled cheese/fries and fish/fries) for $14 each. They were good portions and tasty for the kiddos. Drinks were great and priced accordingly, as expected. Cocktails were ~$15-20. Only downfall was the cheese board. $37 for this sad board was very disappointing. No explanation of the cheese from the person who dropped it off (though they are easy to distinguish, still nice to have a breakdown of what is being served), but the wilted greens and halved strawberry just made this more sad. For the price, step up the board game and go somewhere else. For decor, ambience, drinks, and mains, worth checking out.

We had a wonderful Work Family Christmas Party last night at CLUNY’S. We enjoyed the food, exquisite Charcuterie and Cheese Platter, fresh oysters and the canapes were delicious. The Red Sangria which most of us ordered was the BEST! The Braised Beef short Ribs a must try. Everyone really loved our server Armando (we hope we got the his name right), he attended to us with flair and a witty sense of humor that further brightens the festive holiday spirit! Thank you so much ❤

Great service. Great food. Great ambiance. Expensive but worth it, plus for some reason everything in Canada is expensive. Example: Shoes there, 125.00 Canadian, here in the USA, 45.00 USD, exact same shoe.

The vibe was nice, with the patio area being nicely enclosed with vines as if it were a garden. Service was also pleasant with our server giving us a great local recommendation for a cafe. The food was mediocre with the dessert being a highlight. It was food that you eat to fuel you up that’s elevated, but there wasn’t anything memorable about it. The dessert was interesting in that they used a coffee-like buttercream to present the baker’s selection, and each piece was great in its own way. We’d probably skip out on this and go elsewhere for food since you have so many great options nearby.

My bestie and I recently dined at this restaurant in the heart of the Distillery District and was immediately impressed by the stunning decor of the house. Every corner and ceiling was decorated perfectly, creating a truly luxurious and sophisticated atmosphere. The lighting also added to the overall ambiance and charm of the space. I found the environment to be inviting and comfortable, and the beautifully laid-out washroom added to the overall feeling of luxury. As for the food, my friend had the steak which was cooked to their liking and enjoyed it. I opted for the Vegetarian salad as my main dish, but unfortunately found it a bit too sweet for my taste. However, the presentation was beautiful and the quality of the ingredients was evident. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fancy dining experience with great atmosphere and service. While the food wasn't perfect for me, there are plenty of other dishes on the menu that may be more to my liking.
