This
neighbourhood
gem
is
a
regional
star.
I
was
blown
away
by
MLT
last
night.
The
whole
deal.
Great
homely
food
with
delightful
gourmand
touches.
We
had
focaccia,
shrimp
toast,
beef
pie,
pasta,
steak,
sticky
toffee,
crumble/panna
cotta.
They
all
had
elements
you’d
normally
get
when
paying
another
10
or
20
bucks
a
head
up
town
and
bread
and
pasta
is
freshly
made
on
site.
Great
value.
The
braised
beef
in
the
pie
beyond
mouthwatering,
to
call
it
a
pie
is
like
calling
a
Ferrari
a
car.
Carrots
to
die
for!
Yes,
humble
carrots
storming
the
table!
The
lightest
sticky
toffee
pudding
I’ve
ever
had.
Wow.
And
the
shrimp
toast
hugged
your
taste
buds
like
a
cuddle
from
your
favourite
child.
Wine
list
and
ales
excellent,
as
you’d
expect
of
a
restaurant
with
tavern
in
the
title.
And
a
real
team
of
staff
you’d
trust
your
most
special
events
too.
The
atmosphere
is
just
like
the
food,
it
hugs
you
the
moment
of
entry
and
embraces
you
all
evening
like
a
long
lost
cousin.
It’s
that
welcoming.
The
Owners
and
Team
have
created
something
pretty
special
here
in
the
east
end
and
I
don’t
blame
the
locals
for
not
shouting
about
it.
After
all,
you
wouldn’t
want
your
table
space
taken
non-locals,
would
you?
