Ordered oat latte, Potato Waffles Benedict; half the plate was fruits and vegetables including: sliced bananas, grapefruit, blueberries, grapefruit, orange, blackberries, and watermelon. The potato waffles were light, fluffy, eggs poached to my preference. A great meal with balanced flavors and ingredients. Love the chill atmosphere here combined with the art on the walls; excellent staff. Starving Artist can be a place for a fun, or peaceful moment in the middle of town—with friends or a casual date.

The service was good. The salmon eggs benedict on a waffle 🧇 is a really nice twist on the original. Maple beans are definitely better than regular beans. One downside is that credit cards are not accepted, regardless of the owners opinion of credit cards, it is incredibly inconvenient for customers to not be able to pay via credit card, not everybody carries cash or a debit card, sometimes I leave the home with just a credit card (because that's a reasonable thing to do since most places take credit cards, and pretty much if you're in the restaurant business credit cards are given -- no matter how much you hate them), look into using the Square credit card system if you're looking for a credit card processor that makes merchants happy.

Our friends recommended this place for eggs Benedict and it did not disappoint! The strawberry smoothie was flavourful and filling. Not too sweet. The Nutella latte was also nice - a good balance of sweet with the coffee. The Waffle Benny with mini waffles was great. The B. Benny with potato waffles was filling and good flavour which is nice because it was my first time having potato waffles. Because it had potatoes, it was extra filling which I didn't mind. They did really over cook one of my eggs but they replaced it with an eggs Benedict AND a spare egg which was extremely nice. So service was A+ along with everything else. I'm looking forward to trying the chicken and waffles next!

I got the mixed vegetable waffle sandwich. The flavours were quite bland but the waffle on it’s own is pretty good. The potato salad was the best part by far. My friend got the apple crumble which was also just good but nothing spectacular. The service was pretty non existent. The vibe could also be better. The overall experience was honestly just meh. I wouldn’t come here again.

One of my favourite brunch places downtown, since they have gluten free & vegan waffles (that don’t sacrifice any taste). A wide variety of both savoury and sweet waffle Benedicts and toasts, though I personally find the savoury ones tastier. The service here can get slow when it’s busy (which it usually is) and it is very, very loud due to the constant sound of blenders in a packed space.

My favourite breakfast place, every single time I order the same breakfast dish. They are famous for their potato waffles and if you order one with hollandaise sauce you’ll be in food coma. So good definitely worth visiting 😊 To all the potato lovers out there

Such an amazing twist to breakfast! Their menu mainly consists of waffles with a twist and it was delicious. I also tried their breakfast omelette and it was tasty. Their service is incredibly good. Would visit again!

A breakfast excellent, I always order delivery and it came very well served and packaged. I decided to go eat at the restaurant and I was even more impressed. 😋 The eggs benedict and mashed potatoes are delicious, the fruits are fresh. The plating of the dishes are beautiful. 👏👏

Was told if I'm in the city I HAD to go here for at least one meal and was not disappointed at all. Had the hitchhiker with fruit salad and everything was amazing! Friendly staff too

Came here for breakfast and was honestly disappointed. Let me just start with the waffles. Their waffles are soft. I don't know if that's a Canadian thing or not, but waffles, french toast, etc...they needs to have a crisp to them. A crunch. My wife had the Monte Cristo, which she said wasn't bad, but had been executed better at other places. I had the french toast waffle. It was ok, but hard to eat soft. Then we shared the churo waffle, out of curiosity. The maple beans weren't my vibe either. I'm just used to American Southern baked beans. The fruit and coffee was delicious though. Great decor and a lot of light in there. I liked that. Parking is scarce, so Uber or take the streetcar.

I got the avocado, honey and pecan vegan waffle and a side of their maple beans. It was delicious. The coffee is really smooth. The staff was so friendly, the environment felt so welcoming. I loved it, it was a great spot to decompress before work. Thanks so much

I will always go back for those potato waffles and I usually don't like baked beans but they make them so good! Staff and atmosphere are great too but the food speaks for itself - so tasty.

I love potatoes, so having potato waffles was such a treat! Had some eggs Benny with salad and fruit on the side. The Hollandaise sauce was one of the best I've tasted. The eggs were perfect too, and the waffle was something that you keep dreaming about. This is definitely going to be a spot to visit on the regular.

Went there to pick up a Nutella latte. I like how they have multiple options of customizing the flavour of their lattes. I would definitely try their brunch one day. It was busy. The waiter made the effort to bring my drink all the way to where I was waiting. I enjoyed my drink.

Great little spot. I got the Bacon egg avocado waffle. I got the gluten-free version, which was surprisingly great! Very large portions, and their food is tasty- nothing special, but it hit the spot! The building itself could use a but of a face-lift, but I guess it goes with the name lol

The place is so warm and cozy . There is beautiful art on the walls that you can buy as well. Ordered a Strawberry and banana waffle. So delicious I must say . Everyone working there were so welcoming and friendly. Definitely a 5 ⭐️

Not a fancy brunch place but amazing egg benedicts on a waffle. Price is very reasonable for the portion they serve. If you like waffle you must try this placee.

One of my favourite places to get brunch in Toronto! Their Waffle Benny is so delicious and they seriously make the perfect poached egg. Been here too many times to count and it always impresses.

Enjoyed the gluten free waffles here. They washed the grill for me and took every care to minimize any cross contamination, i appreciate the effort big time. Nice space inside, relaxed energy and great service. 5/5

The poached egg was over cooked and not runny at all. The chicken was EXTREMELY dry. Do not order from here. I am so disappointed.

I was surprised by the quality of food and service considering the reviews. First, the cutlery and cups were not very clean and had a weird smell. I ordered tea which came in a glass soda cup with a paper sleeve on it. Not sure if this was apart of the aesthetic but it was hard to hold and drink. They had lots of options on the menu but I went with something I often like…smoked salmon. I chose the smoked salmon with waffles and was surprised by the large portion size of waffles. It looked appealing but the waffle taste with the salmon was not a good combo. I felt the waffles were too sweet to be paired with the salmon but the waffles were too bland on their own.

Get the Eggs Benedicts on the potato bun, consistently delicious. One minor con was that coffee is no longer bottomless and they didn’t serve drip coffee but instead it’s a small amount of americano and you pay $1 per refill.

Eggs Benny….on a waffle?!? Seems insane I know but just trust the process 🤫 I decided to do the potato waffle cause ya know #savory I recommend 100%! Need to try a sweet one though……

I went in here at around 11am on a thursday morning and it hadn't gotten busy quite yet so i had the place to myself to judge the atmosphere. It was fresh, amiable, oddly familiar, and casual. The energy was bright, and after an emotionally exhausting event, it was exactly what I needed that morning.

Nice place. Very clean washrooms. Food is great with nice quality coffee. Could not ask for more. Been here few times and quality is bang on.

Yummy food. Didn’t have to wait for a table during the weekday. The B.E.A. was super tasty as well as the mango smoothie. They also have a $10 weekday special we didn’t end up getting it but it looked like a great deal.

One word: waffles. that western omelette no a waffle was a revelation to my tastebuds! The staff was so friendly, and the ambiance was so relaxed (decoration were a beautiful touch too!)

The dessert waffle of strawberry cheesecake is very tasty and beautifully made. The staffs are very helpful. It was a nice afternoon stay and would try its breakfast if possible.

This is one of my all-time favourite brunch places to enjoy with friends! I highly recommend Starving Artist if you love eating waffles as much as I do. Every friend I've brought here agrees that the one specialty dish you MUST try is the potato waffles--it's like eating a waffle version of a potato fritter, but softer and fluffier. The eggs benny are always a delight as well, and choose the maple beans as a side--you won't regret it.

Great brunch spot, cosy - service friendly, custom made drinks that weren’t on the menu - salmon sandwich had a nice twist with dill in waffles - desert was worth the price, surprisingly not overly sweet

Went in on a Saturday morning around 10am, and luckily didn't have to wait for a table at all. We must've arrived just in time, because we arrived a few minutes before a couple large parties, phew! I always enjoy the food at Starving Artist; their savoury waffles are so delicious. Luckily they now take debit, so you don't have to worry about having cash on hand.

Had such a pleasant experience here with my girlfriends. The service was impeccable! Usually I feel like I can make brunch food myself at home, but starving artist definitely did not disappoint.

Went in with the family without a reservation on Mother’s Day. They accommodated us and the kids on the last available table with no problem. Service was good and the food was excellent. The kids loved it and I enjoyed my waffles thoroughly as well. Wife was very impressed with her spicy Caesar and meal also

I ordered on here from UBER eats as I have before from the My. Pleasant location and this was absolutely disgusting!! Waffles were soggy, took an hour + and they don’t include butter and syrup like other locations do. They also use one container for all 3 items which the other locations do not do you get much less. Gross. Avoid!!!
