I really enjoyed my time here. I was recommended this restaurant by a couple of coworkers, so I decided to give it a try. Now I definitely will be returning because the food was delectable! The gravlax was probably my favourite dish, as someone who loves gravlax.. Le Baratin makes some of the best. So much flavour and the bread that is served with it was delicious. Every single dish I tried here was top notch! I can’t wait to return.

Came here to celebrate my birthday and haven’t been here before. A cute little French spot with 2 or 3 course set meals only. It’s a very cute and unassuming spot but the food is delicious. The staff are all very friendly and service was great. Would definitely recommend coming here. Also to note, as this place is small, it cannot really accommodate large groups. They do have a patio as well which would be great for the summer.

Nice food, ok portion, price is justified. Small delicate menu, gentle staff. If you're looking for a French restaurant, this one is quite legit. It's truly run by French folks. The reason I didn't give 5: - I didn't mind the food, but it didn't wow us enough to repeat. - Disappointing desert selection for a French restaurant - Duck was on the chewy side - After spending over $200 there with 2 foodie friends, we were hungry enough for a second dinner elsewhere in downtown back to back. But that second dinner location actually wow-ed us (food and ambience), while we went in already semi-full. So the big contrast was there. But to be fair, Baratin was slightly cheaper. However, this is still a nice place, should definitely try at least once given the high reviews. The lamb, the fish, the apps were not bad. Their veggie pie/tart was my favorite of the night, a good non-healthy vegetarian option. The little sides that come with the main dishes are well done. Come try it yourself!

Top notch food, service, cocktails and wine. Was blown away and extremely impressed with the cute and cozy restaurant. Not fancy or pretentious but felt like a homey ambiance with five star food. I highly recommend The prefix and did the three courses. I was able to try the specials of mussels and beef tenderloin. The duck was amazingly crispy on the outside but rare and tender on the inside. Top it all off with a delicious rendition of crème brûlée. Extensive list of wines from all over and tried a cocktail from their 2 or 3 oz lists. Yummy and will be back

4.5 stars. Great little French place. 3 course for $55 and pretty decent wine selection makes this place a unique gem. Food is good for the price, but not as refined as other high-end much more expensive restaurants. The space is cozy, a little tight for my liking. Staff is friendly and great energy. Best wishes. I

My favourite restaurant at all times. Two years ago we found this restaurant by walking around the house and I enjoyed since the moment I came inside. The staff here is super super friendly and kind. I love them so much. Love this place, the environment always feel like home when I am here.

absolutely amazing. we went on Saturday night, our server (I think their name is Laura) was incredible. She made us feel like #1 VIPs, she was funny, engaging, and really helped us with ordering the best of the menu and from the wine menu. The food was incredible, and really really good value, I was impressed. The fish special was seriously one of the best things I have ever had - incredible. I look forward to coming back

What a great French restaurant that is very reasonable priced. Their $55 3course menu is a great deal and the portion are very generous. With few other friends, we managed to try different appetizers and main dishes to share. The lamb shank are made to fall off the bone with minimal force applied. It is one of our favourite dish for the evening. For desserts, the orange creme brulee was our favourite. It has a hint of orange and it is not too sweet. We look forward to come back to try more different items that was made by the awesome chefs.

Food is very tasty and staff is knowledgeable but service can be slow. Inside is not very big so tables are pretty close together, the kitchen is open to the dining room so can get pretty toasty inside. They do have a patio in the summer. Mains were delish- get the Arctic char if they have it 🤤) desserts mediocre.

The service and the atmosphere are definitely phenomenal. The price is affordable with great potion of dishes. I can say the only drawback is that the appetizer is too salty. Perhaps it is just personal opinion, but it is really to salty for me so I have to drink a bottle of water. Other than that, everything is good.

Really tasty food, great choices and daily specials. Reasonable prices for food. They called a few days before pur reservation to let us know about the Do West Fest and that we may need to make alternate arrangements for transportation as a result. I thought this was very proactive! The homade boursin was fantastic. We tried all three daily specials, they were all amazing but in particular the swordfish was cooked to perfection.

Maybe the most amazing food I've ever eaten in my life. My husband almost cried when he tasted the risotto. The escargot was heavenly, the duck was some of the best I've ever had, and the chocolate mousse was to die for. We will come back to Toronto just for this place alone. 10/10 worth every penny.

I've visited this restaurant twice now and both times have been amazing. I've tried their pate and the homemade boursin with olive cake starters and Ihighly recommend the second one. For their mains, I've had the Lamb Shank and the duck breast, both were amazing. Its great to go with a few people so you can try out a few different starters and share.

We were very excited to visit this restaurant since it's highly rated on Google. The atmosphere was great, and so was the service. It's unfortunate that we were not able to enjoy the food as much as others. We had duck and beef, and my partner and I both said the highlight of the evening was the mashed potatoes, which was flavourful, creamy and delicious. We appreciated the very complex flavour of the dishes, but we felt like they were missing the punch line. Don't get me wrong, the food was great and I'm sure most of you will enjoy it, but they just weren't for us. What made the whole experience bizarre was the retaliation from the owner after I posted a review. I stated that "I was expecting more from a $110 dinner", which they replied with, and I quote, "don't post lies just because your date did not go well and you had to pay for it". Seems like the owner cannot accept anything less than a 4 star review, so just be ready if you are going to press that 3 or less star button. It makes me wonder how many people also took down their reviews because of the retaliation from the owner, and perhaps that's why the restaurant has very high ratings. I think we felt more disappointed because we had such high expectations from reading the reviews...

A lovely little place with great food. We went here for brunch and really enjoyed it. The baked French Toast and the Coq Monsieur we're both very delicious. As seems to be the case with these small places it can get a bit noisy with everyone on the room talking, but the food is worth it.

It’s a true gem! The restaurant is pretty small, and the atmosphere is intimate - perfect for a date. The service we received was great, very welcoming. Waiters are knowledgeable and helpful. We had escargot (delicious!), salmon gravlax, duck confit, steak and a chocolate mousse cake. Every dish was delicious. Its rare to find this quality of food for such price in Toronto! The duck and steak were incredible, so tender and juicy, just how it should be. Thank you Le Baratin for this great dinner experience ♥️

Amazing French food. Everything tastes authentic and all made in house! Just delicious. Wonderful side salad as well!

wow! this restaurant impressed me like few have. went here for brunch and we ordered the crepe combo (savoury and sweet crepe) and the eggs benedict with duck confit, and a latte and hot chocolate. rarely do restaurants put significant effort into both the main and the side dishes, as well as the drinks, but le baratin nailed every component of the meal. some of the best restaurant food i’ve ever had! the environment was also very cozy and comfortable, and the wait staff was very friendly but not overbearing. it was pretty slow when we went in and the service was very quick. a little pricey but totally worth it. 5 stars well earned.

Had dinner with family here last night. The service was on point and the food was absolutely delicious! It took us right back to our travels in Paris. The steak frites were amazing, the yummy sauce was unlike anything I’ve had before. Portion sizes were very generous and we left with happy, full bellies. After always passing by this restaurant on Dundas, I’m happy we finally paid a visit!

Came here for an anniversary dinner on the heels of an amazing Paris trip. Wanted to continue dining out at niche French establishments. This did not disappoint. Small, cozy, and inviting - Le Baratin is a lovely, intimate dining experience with great French classics. The veal app was excellent. The veal was perfectly fried, the sauce was buttery and the pastry was flaky. Loved it. The escargot was nice - they were served with the loveliest mushroom sauce. Chefs kiss. The steak frites is excellent. Perfect medium-rare steak covered in caramelized onions with a generous serving of fries and salad. We polished it off in minutes. The braised lamb stew is nice as well. Steak was our highlight though. The chocolate mousse has the most perfect hint of amaretto. Poached pear was not overly sweet. We paired it with red and white wine. Staff gave us some champagne on the house for our anniversary. The service is excellent, fast, and attentive. So glad to have discovered this French gem. Thank you for a great evening.

Amazing food and reasonably priced for a 3 course meal. The place is really small and intimate, so make sure you book a reso in advance. I got the duck for my main course, and it was so rich and delicious. Would definitely come back here again!

The food was just okay. We had a prix fixe dinner for $48 per person. I started with the Assiette de Charcuterie which was a little bland for my taste. The bread felt tough and was a little stale. The pâté and rillettes were a little dry. For my entrée I had the poisson du jour which was an arctic chor with a saffron risotto and a lobster bisque. While the fish was prepared very well, the meal fell short on the risotto being a bit gritty and not warm enough. The staff were pleasant and very knowledgeable but not too sure if that’s enough to have me running back here any time soon.

Excellent spot for delicious French cuisine. The quality of the dishes is high and the prices are more than reasonable. The duck breast main and the gravlax appetizer were especially my favorites. Without a doubt, a very strong recommend for anyone in the area.

What a great experience we had at Le Baratin! Everything was so delicious that we forgot to take a picture of the mains (duck breast and steak). It definitely hit the spot for us. Great service, cozy atmosphere. We recommend. 😍

With drinks and tips this comes out at $100 head for a 3 course table d’hote. The plates are all excellent varying between 7/10-9/10 on the MB scale and the restaurant gets a 8/10 MB rating based on great quality for value. Well worth a repeat and a definite neighborhood hangout if you live nearby.

Here to celebrate my friend’s birthday. The escargots in p1 were delicious with a chewy texture. However, the flavoring of the duck breast in p3 is very weird. I’m not into the sourness. The steak my friend ordered (p4) was acceptable. Overall the food quality was mediocre at best and definitely not worth the price.. If it was any other casual occasion I’d be fine with it but it was my bestie’s birthday and I had expected better experience than this.

Awesome French restaurant with legit well cooked food for a very reasonable price and some fantastic wines. Sat outdoor and the service was perfect, waiter went through the wine list and dishes with us and all the recommendations turned out to be great. I had the Magret de Canard which was perfectly cooked and the sauce was masterfully done. My wife had the Espadon and it was delicious. Will definitely come back.

very cozy place, food was really delicious for the price. Me and my partener ordered a 3 course prix fix menu and ordered different dishes to try and everything was delicious. My favorite was the gravlax, steak frite, escargot, and orange creme brulee. Price was very reasonable for the quality and portion

Beautiful food (especially considering the relatively low price for such high quality dishes). Small, cute and cozy restaurant, which is perfect for a date night. No complaints, highly recommend! The cream brûlée was just perfection, so were out appetizers. Can’t wait to be back here again!

Visited for the 2nd time in 5 years and remembered what i regretted the 1st time. I find the lunch menu doesn't have many choices/or at least not many options appealing to me. You basically have a choice between croque monsieur, omelette, pancake and egg benedict.(& Tartiflette, which i had). Restaurant was quite empty for a sat lunch and staff was friendly

We came for here for beautiful dinner and now we’re trying their brunch. Simply incroyable! We had the eggs Benedict with Duck Confit and the Croque Madame, and let’s just say, we’re going to be regulars. And they also have an amazing, reasonably priced wine selection featuring a lot of labels I’ve never seen before.

Got luv this bistro discovery! A quaint setting. Service was very attentive. We loved the menu selection with standard French bistro fare presented in a unique manner. Beverages hit the spot with a mix of Italy meets France. Lol The food was absolutely delicious. The pics don’t do it justice. Coming back in a few weeks with friends. Need I say more?

This felt just like a typical Parisian restaurant right down to the excellent and reasonably priced wines. We got the popular dishes, Gravlax, Rillettes De Canard, steak frites and mousse au Chocolat, and they were all great. Fantastic meal and highly recommended

Really wonderful cute cozy French restaurant. Our waiter was very charming and fun. It’s a set price for 2 or 3 courses, and it was hard to pick from all the great options. The potato cheese tarte was unique and really special, although heavy. The butternut squash soup was delicious. My partner had the escargot and duck, and enjoyed both but said he had also had better before. For the price, the value is quite good, but the bill certainly adds up if you have alcohol too.

My wife and I went here with some friends for dinner. It's a small restaurant so you need to book a reservation. You can pick from a set menu either 2 courses or 3 courses. The 3 course meal is about 60 dollars per person. The servers are friendly and very prompt. We never had an empty drink on the table. The food quality is amazing and the portions are large.

Nice cozy ambience. Friendly staff. Gets pretty busy. Home style french cuisine. I found escargot a little fishy. Braised lamb was braised lamb. Nothing special. Their charcuterie board was great. Their hand made spread was good. Steak was perfectly cooked. Overall a nice experience.
