😠 Absolutely the worst hospital ever. Came in to get checked after being attacked by a stranger. Got here at 5 and waited 4 hours in the “RAPID ASSESSMENT” section to get checked. Every other patient that came after me got checked first while I sat and never got checked. All while dealing with a head... People often mention hospital, doctor, staff, time, doctors, care, hours, nurses, waiting, wait,

Surely Toronto General Hospital is one the best in the world. Advance technology, great doctors and medical staff. Location is at the heart of the city walking distance to Queens Park, where the government offices are. Subway stop at church st. Noon time is perfect timing to come. Not so much traffic that window hour and public parking is adjacent to the hospital. Other medical facilities around.

Absolutely the worst hospital ever. Came in to get checked after being attacked by a stranger. Got here at 5 and waited 4 hours in the “RAPID ASSESSMENT” section to get checked. Every other patient that came after me got checked first while I sat and never got checked. All while dealing with a head injury and pain. I asked for a estimate time and they disregarded me and brushed me off by saying I don’t know. What do you know? All the nurses and doctors like to sit at the desk and chitchat. While I was on the phone with my mom all they were doing was talking about Chanel bags and the death of Jerry Springer. Super unprofessional and lazy.

They saved my life twice. I had open heart surgery; where as the, second time they put in a maniacal value to repair the aorta. i had wonderful doctors to help save my life. i am so grateful for them. ( Dr. Jack Coleman and Dr. David Tyrone and their staff.) thank you once again.

I have never had such a bad medical experience in my life. It wasn’t even a medical experience, I waited 7 hours to NOT be seen by a doctor or a nurse. After checking in at 3am I was told a doctor would be in a 7 to see me. Mind you there were 3 other people in the waiting room and a few others who where just there to sleep. At 7 i was brought to a different chair in the back. I was under the impression that a doctor was present to see patients - wrong. I was told they were unavailable but a second doctor would come in at 8. At 8 I asked where the second doctor was and the nurse said they were working on the other side of emerg, but another THIRD doctor would be in at noon. Now I’ve been awake for 27 hours and have spent my entire night and morning at the ER with a wound gushing blood. This was the most absurd experience of my life, half the time there wasn’t a single staff member to be found and the other half of the time they were chatting and restocking supplies as if myself and a handful of other people weren’t waiting to be seen (or at least temporarily cleaned up in my case). I feel sick even thinking about how poorly run this hospital is. It would have been faster to fly to Mt Sinai in Manhattan, get fixed up, and fly back. I could sooner become a registered nurse on my own than see a registered nurse as a patient here. I’ll gladly learn how to do my own stitches because I’ll never get the hours of my life wasted in the ER back.

My five-hour emergency room visit exposed me to unprofessional and discourteous behavior from staff towards the suffering patients. This was, without a doubt, the worst hospital experience I've ever had. I've always believed that empathy is an essential quality for a nurse, until I saw this particularly rude tall white woman with glasses and messy high ponytail bun in the emergency room. Given my self-respect as a human being, I would never consider returning to this hospital, not even if I were in a life threatening situation. The lack of compassion and professionalism exhibited by the staff has left an indelible mark on my perception of this facility, and I cannot in good conscience subject myself to such treatment again.

I've had some appointments here with the Thoracic team, as well as emergency/and being admitted through emergency. Staff are professional, the food is good compared to Women's College Hospital. My stay was mostly comfortable. Fast wifi. My room was not cleaned everyday, maybe every second day The hospital is quite old but with new technology.

Absolute worst experience at the ER. Came in early morning because my husband wasn’t well and had chest pains. They triaged him and then forgot to move him in. We waited for 2 hours outside. I asked a couple times how long it was going to take. Finally, a nurse realized they made a mistake and sent him in to rapid assessment. All the people that had come after us were now waiting ahead him. When we asked why he wasn’t prioritized if the hospital realized a mistake was made, they said it was our fault for waiting and not checking, and that someone likely would have called out his name, when in fact no one did. They said just wait and if you have any issues call patient care or feel free to leave, I don’t understand why the healthcare system makes people feel bad when they are already at their lowest. So unorganized. I wish hospitals and healthcare system was supported by workers who liked what they did and weren’t overworked.

Each visit and everyones experience will be different, but it was extremely disappointing that on Nov 21 the ER doctor didn’t do his job properly and sent home a very ill disabled elderly patient without doing his due diligence and as a result the patient died 6 days later at another hospital. It was very hurtful and disappointing and I will never forget that interaction. It’s unfortunate that we have to worry about the care we will receive once at a hospital, something has to be done and I will certainly do my part to help, make that change.

I’ve visited their ER once and I had the best experience. Yes it took 4 hours for the doctors to see me and yes I had to wait almost 14 hours. But that’s normal for the Canadian health system now. Positives: The triage nurse was such a sweetheart. The doctor was a professional and eliminated all possibilities systematically. The neurologist was a sweetheart too. The hospital itself was clean and modern. They use the latest digital filing systems. Negatives: It’s when you get to the waiting area, that things get a bit difficult. There isn’t anyone to greet you and tell you what your status is. There’s one washroom in the waiting area Some washrooms were dirty. They were struggling to help patients that came in an ambulance due to I’m assuming shortage of staff. This province really needs to step up. All in all I’m impressed.

I came into this hospital with severe pain and dehydration. I had not been able to eat or drink and my body was shutting down. It took me an hour to “sign in.” I had to wait a further 4 hours to receive treatment at the EMERGENCY UNIT. That isn’t even the worst part. When you ask the nurses for information, they either actively ignore you or they look at you as if they’re annoyed to see that you have questions. One nurse called Margarita did a great job: she was kind and responded to my condition with sympathy but only after 4 hours of waiting. Someone in government needs to get more doctors at TGH: these standards are so far below expectations for a 1st world country. Trust me, there’s a large cost to “free healthcare.”

These nurses are doctors are just taking and passing time, they are not seeing any patients, they have not called any name from last 4 hours. They kept on saying that they are busy but they are chatting on their phones, talking and walking here and there, one patient was bleeding and left untreated, nurse was happy when patient said i am very old and can’t wait here so leaving. These hospitals should be privatized and staff should be paid hourly as minimum payment only after seeing patients ( they should watch cameras that what is going on)so that they can understand the pain of patients, they don’t even listen and tell the weight time. Called people without any priority triage. Boys staff seems giving priority to girls first, complete gender discrimination may be. Insane. Government hospitals are like begging them to treat you.

Terrible with the way they treat families of patients who have lost a loved one. Imagine being called down because your sister passed and they don't let you in and being told that They're hospital isn't a lobby. Terrible service, poor communication between door workers treating my family members with such disrespect. Families who have lost their loved ones don't want to be dealing with this when they come in. Throughout the week we were told that we were all allowed in to see our loved one who passed. Its so heartbreaking, no compassion whatsoever. We're already dealing with enough. Being told we can see our loved one to not being let into the hospital ( we are all vaccinated too)

Nurse named Alex was in a hurry to discharge me after my surgery, I am not feeling well why would I go home like this? Like of course I’d leave if I felt better. Last min Change of plans before surgery, Kept me waiting with no food no drink for about 2 days for a 30 min surgery. VERY CONFUSING AND NEGLECTING. The healthcare maybe free in this country but it’s absolutely trash.

What can I say about this hospital, they saved my life! In November of 2012 I received a double lung transplant at the amazing hospital. The doctors, nurses and all the staff at the hospitals went above and beyond to bring me back from death. Simple amazing Hosipital!!!

Worst medical facility I’ve ever visited. After a 10 hour wait the doctor will impatiently check your results and give you a bad result. Then will spam call you the next day to come to the hospital for another 10 hour wait. Nurses there are rude, they simply don’t care about your health. All they care about is clocking in and clocking out. Stay away from this place. Malpractice will definitely occur. Hope they get sued asap.

The quantity & knowledge of the nurses are terrible in ER. There is no compassion. No one knows how to put an IV needle. Poked the patient 5 times on the left had and then switched to right. No care, no one attends to call bells. They talk loudly about personal matters, laughing. They have become incompetent sadly

The BEST hospital in Canada! Excellent staff in all departments. You are well cared for and treated with respect and dignity. I see a number of specialists here and they are all excellent. Full transparency; you can see everything on your file if you create an account.

An amazing hospital my dad had something wrong and we didn’t know what it was and brought him to the ER. He was treated very fast and since by nurses who were so kind and helpful. The doctors we saw are top notch and they figured out he had an infection in his stomach and is now on the mend. They do a lot tests and make sure they fellow you with you. I can see why this is one of the top rated hospitals globally.

I was there recently at the emergency. The staffs and Drs were amazing. They were very professional, promptly. The hospital systems are the best. All your blood work and tests are directly to your email in a few hrs before the Dr arrived. The following up appointment are promptly. This hospital is number one and the best in Canada.

Very long wait times. There is also no privacy afforded in the rapid assessment centre. Everyone in the waiting area could hear each patient’s conversation with the nurse or doctor when discussing their private medical issue. That said, when I finally got seen, the doctor was very helpful and properly addressed my medical issue

Excellent staff (doctors and nurses) the equipment. I don't give the hospital 5 stars because of the front desk staff at the ER room. I was getting even sicker to hear the girl with the pixie hair cut yelling at everyone when trying to log them in because they were immigrants and didn't understand her questions or because someone touched her desk and she needed to clean it after. Believe me Asian background guy and pixie hair cut girl, nobody wants to be yelled when is sick, moderate your voice tone and be more compassionate, you are in an ER room.

The nurse sitting at the front door, maria, is rude. She has to take training about how to get proper relation with customer. My mom, who does not speak English, was a patient in General Hospital Emergency, and Maria did not let me go to help mom with what Dr said, even they did not provide an interpreter. Maria, who is far from professional, took me out with rude behaviour. They did some procedures on my body without asking her permission because of Maria's ego. Her behaviour is " Go sit. I give permission here and she mad at the security woman who is let me help my mom ". I will ask about my legal rights. She is responsible if Something happens wrong to my mom.

Maybe an advanced technology facility , but the nurses and staff at the emergency Unit were quite absent and indifferent. You can wait 8 hours without having someone asking you whether you need some water. Why using the intravenous injection when it was of no use at all. And... the waste of gloves, screen protections (no recycling in this hospital, or a personal use).....I observed the nurses during 8 hours and a half. Only one of them was really working. The others turned around, took some blood samples...changes x times their gloves ... without knowing what they were doing. We pay for them, hein! a shame, a real shame! However, they are stuck at the computer screens with their little "mobiles" as if life was suspended to them . Thanks to the Dr ( although he did not know much). Never again!

I recently had VATS lung surgery and had to stay 13 days instead of overnight. Every single person from the cleaners, porters, meal delivery people where fantastic. The nurse's on 6b thoracic ward were excellent and very caring. I watched them take so much bull from patients who acted like they were the only sick people. Dr Johnathan Yeung and all his Fellows were also very professional and yet showed so much compassion to me as I had recently lost my wife of 49 years. It was my first time in hospital in 37 years and you hear how bad things are now I found none of that. If you treat them with RESPECT they will treat you the same. I want to thank everyone for their wonderful care they gave me. Where would we be without Doctor's and Nurses. Thank you all so much.

Maybe the best run and highest medical capability institution in Canada. Their doctors and nurses work in a team so for a senior like my husband who had multiple underline problems can be taken into consideration as whole. In March my husband checked into emergency department for heart problem, within a very short time, they found the root cause of the heart issue is his failing kidneys, so saved his life. Should my husband only being seen by the heart specialist, he may not leave the hospital alive. For a big outfit with thousands of patient beds, it is running smoothly which is not an easy task.

Went twice in two days for breathing problems. First time I waited in the Rapid assessment zone for 3 hours and I watched them cycle through 2 full waiting rooms before I decided to ask what was up. Nurse said they were short staffed, then called someone else that showed up well after me to be seen. Went back tonight and I couldn't even get registered. The intake people just kept talking to one and another and looking back at me while I was wheezing. If you need help asap, don't go to this hospital.

Customer service is awful. We waited on a family member in surgery, who we were told initially was going to be in surgery for 6-8 hours. It stretched to 12 hours and we got absolutely zero updates from anybody. The staff working were, for the most part, incredibly incompetent and had no idea who was where. It took us an hour just to find out where she was in recovery. Neither the surgeons working on her, nor their staff could be bothered to give us any sort of an update. This has been such an incredibly stressful situation all around for our family, and this was only compounded by the absolutely abysmal bedside manner. UPDATE: They’re still absolute garbage. Providing no updates, no information, takes them forever to get to anyone. -5/5

The general waiting room is small and the chairs needs to be cleaned-they were dirty and had stains on them. Waited 7.5 hours to finally see a doctor. Overall a good place I would say the Nurses and doctors are kind and fast but the waiting is too much. Be sure to have your phone charger and a book to read

Recently I went to do some tests and the two technicians were totally amazing. This was my first time going to this hospital and the care that I gotten was outstanding. The first technician that I seen, she was very sweet and explained to me what she was going to do before she did it. The doctor i've seen was amazing and very respectful. To my surprise everyone had called me with the correct name and thank you for that.

Had the worst experience at TGH. My boyfriend and I came in yesterday at around 11:20am but got out at 5pm. His tests were done at 11:50am, but didn’t hear back until 4:30pm from the doctor. No instructions or updates were being given from 11:50am to 4:30pm. What sucked is he couldn’t even leave and get food. There was no option for him to eat anything while waiting. He was asked to put on a hospital gown at 11:50am too, but no further instructions were given. It was so uncomfortable for him. As I couldn’t visit him too, I was in the ER the whole time he was in the exam room. I understand that the nurses & doctors were doing the best they can, but to not give us any update at all was too frustrating. Today, my boyfriend had to come back for another procedure. He was there at 8am, but only got to be assisted at 12:05pm. This is even worse than Manila hospitals.

Walked out after waiting almost 8 hours (4:30pm to 12am). They told me I had to wait longer. Went to one waiting room to another waiting room to finally a private room for assessment, stretcher bed and a gown to wait in. I waited 3 hours in that stretcher and gown and no one ever came by. They said they can give me a tylenol so it'll help me sleep and they'll wake me up when the doctor is ready. I said no, I have work in the early morning. It was a Wednesday night, longest and wasted night. Incredibly understaffed.

You guys could have literally killed my fiancé. The doctor dismissed her when we came in for chest and abdominal pain and refused to do proper testing until we demanded further testing only to be told off and treated like she was crazy. Testing was done that showed odd symptoms in multiple ways but those were dismissed also. You told us it was probably because she smoked weed and that it was CHS. We got a cardiologist involved through a requisition from a different ER after being told by your doctors to just “wait it off.” Turns out she has an enlarged/inflamed heart and fluid surrounding it (which your tests showed but you dismissed as an ER) and needs to be on medication for it or she could have serious complications. If you guys cannot do your job, listen to patients when they tell you something is wrong, and actually act professional, don’t become a doctor. If I could personally sue each doctor there, I would. Just go to sunnybrook or hell even out of the city to save your loved ones the anxiety of dealing with the most insincere doctors imaginable during an already stressful time. -10 stars.

Regarding skin infections, the doctors at your appointment make you wait a long time and when this happens, when it's your appointment you don't even need them. Do you want to pay your bill that was sent home? It was, and still is, a journey since I wanted to fill out my insurance forms to ask for coverage for both medical and hospital services. and it didn't take more than 2 weeks for the doctor who treated me to give me his signature. and the hospital bill can take up to months for them to fill it out, to be able to ask insurance to pay you. They give you a number to call and you are supposed to wait two business days when leaving your voice message for them to let you know if they are going to fill out the forms and they will assist you there. In the area itself they say that it is part of the hospital, the other receipt was exact for waiting there for 1 hour sitting outside until they attended to my appointment and the hospital facilities alone were 341 dollars. separate from the appointment of $185 the doctor's bill. I think I will think about whether I go back there or try to look for another alternative medicine or other administrations. The doctors are a little fast and detailed, but the payment administration takes a long time if you want your insurance to pay for it. thank you.

My husband received great care and attention from all nurses and doctors. The only complaint I have is that the housekeeping on the 9 th floor is awful! My husband was in step down and the floor were not washed or bathroom cleaned the entire week he was there. If the hospitals are about preventative measures of infection they need to have their cleaning staff doing their job. I saw the housekeeper waking around, grabbing drinks etc instead of cleaning . I have worked at hospitals and never saw this with any of the housekeepers I worked with. Overall our experience was wonderful.

This is the worse hospital to go to in Toronto. The Doctors don't know what a Medical Alert Neck less is and don't have the sense to call the Hotline. I am very allergic to all dogs and go into shock and my mouth and tong swells up and sometimes loose my voice. The ambulance are the worse where they also don't understand what a Medical Alert is and they won't call the hotline. I can't have any sheets or blankets or pillow due to been allergic to bleach. I had a female Doctor who did not care and wanted for me to leave as for 3 days I could not eat or drink. And mouth still swelled up and no drinking water and no voice. How can they do that. She was so rude towards me that the second time I saw her told her to leave with my hands since I could not talk. My Nurses that I had also agree that she was very rude to me and they told that Doctor not to come into my room again. Guess what she did and same thing so she got my discharge papers. And also I am a Vegan and the Kitchen kept giving me dairy products that could not have and they said oh! Don't vegans have dairy products. How DAFT are they. And another Doctor called me a different name and gave me wrong medications and had a reaction. This is how bad the hospital is in Toronto. Also saw my Family Doctor and he said it will take another 2 weeks to get my voice back. Yes I do have a Title and related to Princess Diana. Cheers.!

My doctor gave me a referral to the ER and get an urgent US, despite my symptoms not being present that day. the doctor ignored the US request because I didn't have pain/ symptoms despite me telling the nurse working with him that I did have a slight pain that day. I felt very breezed over and disregarded despite being told by my doctor to go to the ER with or without symptoms.

Very skeptical about the quality of care. Hit and miss. For ex, went to the ER with a serious case of pneumonia and they kept me overnight. So far so good. However the antibiotic prescribed was useless. After being discharged, the same day I cracked 2 ribs from the cough. And was forced to seek a second opinon. Be critical of the medicine they prescribe.

Toronto General Hospital is one of the best Public Government Run Hospitals in all of Canada especially when it comes to cardiac heart conditions. I have been coming to this facility since 2020 to the emergency department and it's excellent most of the time. The first going to the register desk, then the triage nurse will assess you, and then to the Rapid Assessment Zone (RAZ) to the other side of the hospital where there is a seating area for the patients to see the Emergency Room Physicians. Keep in mind that the best times to come to the hospital are around 9:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Friday since they don't get too many patients since most people are at work/employment so it's easier for their staff to give good care to them. I only gave it 4 stars because every time your admitted to the Emergency Department you will not get the same Physician each time which is understandable so the quality and wait times will vary. I come all the way from the City of Mississauga travelling for 1 hour and 15 minutes through Public Transit to get to Toronto to this hospital so that says quite a lot.

The best hospital ever, saved my mother life several time, yes, did some professional had a poor judgement(wait too long for surgery) that put her at risk, but at end everything work out good. My mother loved that care, that hospital, all doctors, unfortunately, she had a seizure and ambulance took her to Michael Garron (The worse Hospital ever-run) and they did no had a EEG and so many mistakes, that lead her to her death after 21 days of hospitalization and blame of her cancer that was stable. Anyway - In honor of my mother "ANTONIA CONTREIRAS", i am rating this hospital the BEST HOSPITAL EVER

I’ve been coming to this hospital for 20 years. It saved my life when I was 23 and has continued with keeping me alive and heathy since. Truly one of North Americas best cardiac hospitals, among other departments. Thank you UHN.

My Dad was in the Pulmonary Hypertention Clinic and we couldn't be more thankful and impressed with the Doctors and staff. Everyone from reception to the nurses. They were kind, personable, professional and caring. In fact we found everyone at this hospital very friendly. Thank you also to the Cardiology clinic for being so lovely as well. I imagine these doctors, nurses and staff put up with a lot in their day to day. It cannot be easy so we are so pleased they treated my Dad with such care regardless of how stressed and busy they must be. Special thank you goes to Nurse Murry Macdonald. He is a real gem.

I was there for 5 weeks and they didn't find out what is wrong with me, I went back with spinal pain and neck stiffness and the doctor literally told me "we can't help you" ... Now I'm at the point where if I don't take certain pills I can't breath that's how bad it's getting and they refused to help me! Really bad service, I'm practically on my death bed now. Thanks. I am ashamed of this country, how did we let it come to this? I am afraid to ask for help now as healthcare obviously doesn't care and is letting people die literally, where are we suppose to go if our healthcare is negligent? I feel like theres no help or hope in this system.

Very confused people work here. No one listens to what you have to say. I went into emergency lethargic, stomach pains and severe muscle cramps because I was prescribed large amounts of vit D to bring my levels up from 10% of normal. I had trouble walking into the hospital. After 5hrs of me giving blood and urine... they diagnosed Depression... What??? Try a different emergency hospital if you can!!!

This is one of the best hospitals in Toronto. Within 30 minutes I was seen by a nurse and doctor. The clinic is super modern and clean. The online portal is easy to use and convenient to receive test results quickly .The doctors and nurses listen to your concerns and provide appropriate care. I went in the late morning and was out by late afternoon. Highly recommend!

I had attacked by 2 criminals and injured bad my nose bleeding, lips bleeding and throat pain because they chock my neck and call police for help and ambulance bring me to hospital and I waited 10 hours to complete my checkups. Some nurses are very rude they need some classes for respectable behavior to the patient.

The staff is all amazing, they go above and beyond to getting me extra blankets, and information in a timely manner. This emergency experience was the reason for the drive. Been disappointed with others in the past. Environmental is relentless at every detail, it's clean smelling, and sparkling everware!

Today I had to bring my grandmother to get checked out. We gave been here since 10am. The staff was great when we first arrived. It is now 4pm and they have not offered her anything to eat or drink the entire day. Every time I ask how much longer I get a rude response. One of the worst hospital around

My dad was in Toronto General Hospital a few times. One time my dad had a heart valve replaced by Dr. Yau. The doctors and nurses that looked after my dad were all amazing and I was totally blown away by the care my dad received. Because I was so impressed with Toronto General Hospital, when my family doctor wanted me to see a cardiologist I requested (almost demanded) Dr. Heather Ross. My family doctor sent in a referral to Dr. Heather Ross in October and I have a new patient virtual meeting with her booked for March 11, 2024. I send a big thank you to Dr. Heather Ross for taking me as a new patient and I look forward to my new patient meeting with you. I can see why Toronto General Hospital is always ranked as one of the best hospitals in the world and it's also why I keep donating to the UHN Foundation and I always direct my donations to Toronto General Hospital.

I had my catheter ablation on 5th January. Very good Service. All staff members, nurses and doctors and office staff, were very much professional and caring. I was taken care from morning 8 to afternoon 6 with intense care. Dr Nanthakumar is very good cardiologist. He explained in detail what is going to be done, before and after my ablation, to me and all my family members. We all are very happy with him and grateful to him. Thanks to him and his team.

I have no desire to question how busy the doctors and nurses are. Regardless of what people have said here everyone at the hospital is trying their best however when told I can have food again, I requested nothing with pork. 4 hours later I was given a ham and cheese sandwich. What a joke

Unfortunately, I have been in and out of hospitals in the past few years with ovarian cancer (now in remission). 🙏🏻 I had a double mastectomy preformed by Dr. Toni Zhong, and Dr. Leong and I am in awe of the professionalism, calming bedside manner before the surgery and the constant care and follow-up I received after the surgery. The nurses and everyone else I came in contact with were kind and on their game with my recovery. I have read this is the number one hospital in Canada and number 4 in the world. With this type of care I understand why. Thanks to the entire team!! Kelly

Worst health system in the world. Takes forever to speak to doctors… they don’t explain what’s going on…we’ve been waiting for a doctor for more than 12 hours regarding something they say it’s urgent and no one wants to speak to us. No empathy at all!! They leave you for 12 hours with no food not knowing if you will need a surgery or not!! Stupid health system!!

Considering the negative reviews, I was nervous of coming here as I am not from here. Registration and Triage was very quick, waited 20 minutes max to be seen for assessment in the rapid assessment centre. Pain medication given right away and now waiting for results. All the staff have been professional, informative and kind but miscommunication is the only issue. So far my experience has been positive and felt like my needs were met.

I want to thank the staff support workers, nurses, am the doctor Hassan In the emergency room. I was very impressed the time it took to see the doctor I also was impressed with the website as it gives you a pretty accurate time on when you will be seen by a doctor it also gives you approximate times in the emergency waiting area a how many patients are waiting and how long. It didn't matter who I spoke too from desk, check to the nurse and doctor they kept informed and they made feel so comfortable. I can't say enough. Who ever is doing hiring human resources or whoever I give gold stars to you :)) Thank you so much!!!!!

Back in 2011, I was hemorrhaging after a miscarriage. I understand how difficult and taxing working in emerg can be. I was expecting to wait my turn, but when I went in, told them what was happening and they immediately put me in a room. It wasn't until later that I learned that my life was in danger. When it's life and death, they take care of you. Universe, bless all the health care providers. ♥️

Best hospital I've been to hands down. Patient, caring, efficient, and understanding staff! I do wish they could've shared a bit more knowledge on what the cause was for my symptoms and what I could do to help prevent them in the future (I have really bad panic attacks that bring out horrible terrifying physical symptoms) but they did the best they could in terms of making sure I wasn't dying and told me there was indeed only so much that shows on their database that I have to do a follow up with my doctor so that I am💜

I hate giving bad reviews but my one of my family members was in dire need of to be taken to a hospital they were fainting and even came in ambulance but they won't take them. The hospital better have been full for that to happen. Seriously if that is the case then maybe do an alert so that paramedics don't waste their time. This family member had even been to Toronto General before. I honestly what to know why he wasn't able to be admitted I am going to personally also email their director because this type of stuff should never happen ever.

Wonderful experience with Toronto General Hospital. Dr. Mohammad Shafiee is incredible. Words can not describe the magnitude of our appreciation. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. He relates well to people and takes time to listen and takes appropriate action on the symptoms. He is good at building trust with his patients. His staff is no different and will go the length to make sure all is well. Seriously not a typical doctor, he is a good man. We appreciate Dr. shafiee taking the time to explain everything to us in a very clear manner and going over the treatment options and next steps. A big thank you to the entire team and specifically Dr. shafiee. Definitely recommended!

I understand hospitals are busy and the staff must experience some interesting and unpleasant things however this was probably the worst hospital visit I have ever experienced. I have an anxiety and panic disorder, I was originally allowed a visitor but when I was placed in a cubicle the nurse told me my visitor wasn’t allowed which caused me to panic. When I was given the opportunity to speak to the doctor, he was quick to diagnose and walk off without allowing me to ask any questions. I was prescribed morphine for pain that I described as tolerable, why would I need morphine for tolerable pain? I denied the morphine. I was in the ER for a total of 10 hours, alone. It is a given that when you go to the ER the wait will be long but I was not expecting 10 hours just to be given saline and medication to calm down my stomach. I left the ER at 3am after the nurse came back from her break and tracked down the doctor so I could finally be discharged. When I read my charts, so much of the information was wrong. From who brought me in, to if I was allergic to anything, to the doctors ER note stating my pain level. I was barely being listened to and it was very clear on my charts. I get working in a hospital is not easy but I stated multiple times my condition and ended up having several panic attacks alone while I was hooked up to an IV. Please do better, not everyone who comes into the ER in DT TO is some person on drugs. There are so many students down here who are alone and experiences like this can hurt us mentally long term.

Dr. Nazanin Meshkat was no help. I came in with a clogged ear and pain. She told me just keep taking olive oil. I told her its not working and that the excessive ear wax needs to be flushed out. She still insisted that it will work if I use it consistently. She refused to listen to me. She was uptight, stubborn and rude. She talked to me in a condescending manner that made me assume that she harbours some prejudice that clouded her judgment. My experience with Dr. Meshkat makes me question her professionalism and knowledge. I recommend the hospital to keep a close eye on her

The worst experience ever, brought my husband here as I thought this will be the good hospital but the emergency room is the worst here, at first we had to wait 5 hours to see a doctor while there was a nurse there working at night I never seen a human with no feeling except this white tall girl she is very mean if u approach to her to just ask for water she will respond to you by screaming at your face and make u feel like u did a crime. The DR came and checked my husband asked to have him do more blood test which normally can Take 1 hour to get results we literally had to wait hour and a half just for that mean nurse to come and take the blood is int insane? This was the first time my husband coming to this hospital in this country and he is just shocked about this experience then he decided to leave because whats the point waiting 8 hours for a nurse not even caring if u suffer or no. If u hate ur job it’s not us to blame so do something about it and leave patients away from ur stressful and mean behaviour because will be the mean person making them feel horrible!

This is a 3rd world hospital in a 1st world country. Perhaps even worse than some hospitals I've been to in third-world countries. It is not the patients' fault if you do not have the ability and foresight to organize your workflow efficiencies well at the ER. Staffs are poorly disciplined, with zero common sense and no sense of urgency to expedite when my friend is in severe pain from a highly likely appendix rupture - I was right at the counter and they pretended like I wasn't there as they continued chatting about nonsense. The IV drip bags were not changed when it got empty - poor quality assurance. 3 different staffs came in to ask my friend the same questions about her condition, forcing her to repeat while she is in acute pain - poor communication system. We were promised to do an emergency ultrasound scan to check on her abdomen as soon as possible, but they kept dragging her for the past 7 hours, with temp meds to keep the pain down - don't you think that's a waste of resources when she could be shuttled straight to the lab for a quick scan just to make sure everything is okay? I understand hospitals are full of psychopathic doctors and nurses, but even psychopaths know how to be tactful and professional in their conduct towards people when they are in their most vulnerable state - giving snarky remarks and pissing half the patients off in the process is not it. At least do a better job to assure your patients kindly, and take damage control when you fked up. Super vexed and disappointed by this jungle of a world-class hospital. It is incredulous to make someone wait when they are about to pass out already. I do not blame the staffs entirely as many are probably overworked and exhausted, but obviously the management can do better in improving their communication and workflow efficiencies to save on time, resources, and perhaps even money to pay your staffs more and hire more people!!

I just signed myself out of this hospital. Horrible experience. First of all I was in emergency for three days. They constantly moved me from room to room, finally wheeling my stretcher in a brightly lit hallway where I'm assuming I was supposed to sleep. When I finally made it upstairs to the famous cardiology wing I was put with loud, obnoxious roommates. I got absolutely no sleep ever. Last night they told me to not eat or drink after midnight for some procedures I was to have today...they didn't have me scheduled to get anything done until 3pm, and by that time I was starving and dizzy. I made numerous complaints but everyone just shrugged their shoulders at me. Not recommended.

Good luck coming in with an emergency, you’re better off rolling a dice and taking a random medicine. Or you can wait 6 hours while overhearing nurses giggle and flirt.
