My endocrinologist referred me to WCH for more ultrasound scans and I checked in on the 2nd floor with no issues at all. Upon arrival, you’re asked to wear a mask that they provide to you. Check-in was a breeze, there were three nurses to attend to the line-up. Once I checked-in, I showed my health card and was told to sit in the waiting area until someone calls my name. Given it was a doctor’s referral and a scheduled appointment, I waited no longer than 30 minutes. I was in and out in no time. Also a bonus was they had free WiFi to use during the wait. WCH facilities are spotless, everything looks so clean and their food court was pretty impressive as well. One of the nicest hospitals I’ve seen by far.

Recently, WCH staff must have seen many Chinese visitors for COVID-19 test to meet international travel clearance requirements by the Chinese government before they fly back to China. My parents are among those who were extremely worried about the appointments and the test report time with the limit of 72 hours prior to their flight. After I completed the WCH on-line registration, I received a call from a nurse who was very patient and gave my parents’ a pre-screening with email confirmations thereafter. At the COVID-19 Assessment Center, all the staff from those organizing the lines at the entrance and those sitting behind the computers confirming patients’ information were very nice and helpful. I would like to appreciate two doctors – Karin and Lena, who well shared our concerns of the test report date and accommodated us. Within 12 hours, we received emails advising the results had been posted on MyChart - so my parents got their reports eligible for boarding on the flight! It’s such a great relief of our frustration and anxiety. Now, my parents are enjoying their flight back to their homeland. We highly appreciate our super heroes, the front-line medical staff at WCH. WCH is so famous in the Chinese community and has become our top choice for taking COVID test. Yesterday, at the airport, my parents asked me to make a donation to Women's College Hospital's COVID-19 Assessment Centre Fund. Hers is the message from them, “With your great efforts, we got the COVID test reports so we can fly back to China. Thank you so much dear WCH front line heroes! Be safe and stay strong!” Please extend our regards to your great staff! Take care!

I have called here multiple times and every time the receptionist has been extremely rude and unkind. If I am calling multiple times it’s probably urgent, however each time the receptionist has dismissed my concerns and shrugged it off as unimportant. The least you can do as a facility offering medical services is to hear out people. Nobody is calling for fun. Honestly, I will sue this place if any complication. happens as a result of their negligence.

I had an appointment with my surgeon (virtual appointment; because I live quite far from Toronto) in May. And the doctor didn't show up. I called the assistant, and they rescheduled me to today (July 5). They said the surgeon will call me. Again, the doctor never called. Very disappointed. called the assistant twice, no one answered. Very poor service. I understand now most appointments go in person, but they should not miss my virtual and phone appointments! Do they even use my health card to get $ without seeing me. Who knows? Zero moral standard.

I am very disappointed with the ultrasound department... The Covid guidelines were not followed at all and it was not a safe place for pregnant women to wait. Several patients were not wearing masks and some were visibly sick, violently blowing their noses next to me. The staff even gave them fresh tissue paper, rather than asking them to wait somewhere else or at least blow their noses in the washroom. I waited more than an hour beyond my scheduled timeslot, desperately trying to dodge the mucus flying from all directions; and finally when I was able to get in, I was rushed by the technician and didn't even get to properly see my baby or take a photo. It was an awful experience altogether; I strongly recommend to not do your pregancy ultrasound at this place!

I've been a patient with Dr. Nutt of the Red Team for 10 years. Every appointment was a headache to book and the secretaries are consistently short or time, rushed, unbelievably rude and get messages confused. Always in and out of there with 10 minute appointments- not good patient care at all, barely any time for an appointment. I had the final straw today because I needed a physician in Canada who had known me personally for more than two years- I called to triple check that Dr. Nutt would be okay saying that she has been my doctor for years (and I am Natalia Robert-Nunez) so that I can apply for a Certified Copy of Birth Registration, which I need to apply for permanent residency a different country. After the third time stating the same request, third or fourth time saying I didn't need anything signed, and third secretary I was talking to over the course of two weeks, the secretary was finally able to ask Dr. Nutt, who immediately said she could not even speak to me about having her name be written on a form to say she knew me. I must reiterate, she was my doctor for 10 years. If you need a doctor to know who you are, DON'T CHOOSE WOMEN'S COLLEGE! If you need a doctor who is easy to reach, who will respond to you, DON'T CHOOSE WOMEN'S COLLEGE! If you need your doctor to do more than small talk with you for 10 minutes a year, look somewhere else. So disappointed- Dr. Nutt does not deserve her old reputation.

If you can find another place for your services, I would highly suggest you do so.. especially if you are going to have to drive multiple hours to get to their location. They have absolutely no respect or care for patients.

I had gone for abortion counselling. Instead of leaving it to our choice they convince us to go ahead with abortion . Which is why I felt abortion is nothing wrong and I lost my angel baby because of these nurses and staffs. Money minded for each and every treatment they perform !

It was impossible to get any administration or nurses to answer the phone to book or reschedule an appointment. When I saw Dr. Jacobson, she wasn't able to help with my issues and asked me to return when the issue was more prominent. I told her that would be impossible as I can't get anyone on the phone to book me an appointment. She said to just drop in during her working hours. When I did that, the receptionist wouldn't let me see her. 4 years of trying (and failing) to get an appointment to see her at a time when she was able to see and diagnose my issue. Go to another doctor. One with better support staff.

my parents went to WCH yesterday for COVID19 test for travelling purposes. The swap was done around 12:00 PM and I received the result at 7:00 AM the following day, Thank you! All the hospital front line workers & doctors. The service you provided is excellent! They understand that we need the result within 48 hrs and they rushed the test for us. The booking system is very precise. The doctor over the phone is very nice! Thanks again!

Excellent. Went for COVID test in June and again in September. No symptoms but needed proof of negative to visit elderly relatives. In both cases I completed on-line registration. Next morning a Doctor called and did an assessment and pre-screening over the phone and sent me a link to the WHC MyHealth site so I can check for my results. Super helpful and informative. Given a number to present in the fast-track lane at WCH on Grenville. Two lines waiting for test. One the fast track and the other a walk-in. Both moving quickly and efficiently. Obviously fast track is faster. In and out in less than one hour on both occasions although busier in September. Caring and thorough and respectful staff and safe COVID protocol. Received an email 24 hours later to advise result has been posted on WCH MyHealth. At that time I was pretty sure it was negative because was told they would phone if it was positive. Thank you front line workers at WCH. So grateful for the care and reassurance at this time of uncertainty. Thank you Thank you

The hospital staff (i.e. doctors and nurses) are all very nice ad pleasant to deal with but the reception and admin staff are absolutely impossible. If you want to book an appointment be prepared to wait 30+ minutes on hold just to get in contact with someone. Calls are never returned and overall a complete inconvenience.

I was at the COVID Assessment Centre last week and I was helped by Rebecca Keigh. After having a very bad week, I was very nervous about the test, and this kind and lovely woman (Rebecca Keigh) made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions with utmost patience and kindness. I have always had a great experience at Women's College and this is yet another example. Very grateful to all the healthcare workers at this hospital!!

I went to endocrinology department for monitoring my thyroid for several months. Was never a big fan of them but made it work. When they switched ti phone appointments and started using their stupid messaging system online, things became so frustrating and annoying. You can never find messages easily and logging in is annoying. I have two small children and a full time job. Juggling my life and the poor care at the hospital was becoming too much. I called the receptionist for a new requisition because I didn’t get mine (they mail it to me, no idea why it can’t be emailed) she was so rude I cancelled my upcoming appointment and I’ve decided to stop monitoring my disease. Of course nobody will follow up on why I’ve stopped working with them. I would rather roll the dice on my disease turning serious rather than work with them. The place looks nice but it’s all for show. At least with my experience. And the parking lot is a crowded mess.

Update: Today is 7Sept.2022, nobody from WCH returned my call. Original: I was supposed to have a phone appt. with Dr. David on Thursday 25 August 2022 @1:15 PM. And Dr. didn't call me. I called the hospital to try to inquire and inform them. Nobody takes calls. I feel it is very hard to get hold of anyone or speak to a live person. I did leave a voice mail and i will see how long they get back to me and with what explanations. They used to have a message function for patients which is a great communication tool, but it is no longer being used.

Went to AACU, after the visit to Toronto General Hospital ER. Actually, the visit itself wasn't helpful at all. The nurse and the pharmacist were great. However the doctor here asked me about my situation the third time after the nurse and the pharmacist. What's the point of making all those notes without sharing? Without an ultrasound, the issue couldn't be diagnosed. I have had a mastitis for a month with a blister on my nipple and telling me to keep having the third round of antibiotics is not useful at all. The 2-hr visit was like a joke. Went to another hospital and it was treated carefully.

Didn’t have a good visit here at aacu. The doctor just brushed me off based on a undiagnosed syndrome and didn’t bother running any tests. In the states age is not a determining factor in someone’s treatment. But of course if a doctor does something wrong here and results in the death of a patient they don’t face the same repercussions as in the states.

Doctors and nursing staff in the Bay Centre for Birth Control are top-notch. I came here two years ago for a birth control consultation and I was met with patience, education and kindness. At my next appointment I had my IUD inserted without issue, and with a lot of support from my doctor and nurse. On my most recent visit, I was told that I had come a day early for my appointment, which I was quite sure that I had come at the time/date that I was told to come for on the phone. Luckily for me, since it was just a routine check-up, the doctor was able to see me last minute. I would highly recommend double checking your appointment before travelling to the hospital. I’ve also noticed that is quite difficult to get a hold of reception over the phone. Try at different times during the day if you cannot get ahold of anyone!

Only had positive experiences here! Every single doctor, nurse, admin assistant and hospitality person I've met here has been stellar. The medical facilities and amenities here are almost BRAND NEW, and it's a pleasure to be around. The medical team is at their A-game, the top in their field! Wouldn't trust anyone else with my care. The doctors here truly do care for their patients!

I went in for an IUD insertion and asked if they would be able to give me something for pain management, as I was very anxious about the pain. They refused and said I should just take 2 advils instead. The procedure involves piercing and pulling at the cervix which (unfortunately) is the medical standard and therefore is inherently very painful. I still went in as I was hoping it “wouldn’t be that bad”, as the nurse told me. Turns out it is, in fact, extremely painful. I also have a retroverted uterus which makes the procedure a little more difficult so they had to spend a considerable amount of time pulling on my cervix to try to align it properly. It was only after 15 minutes of tugging and pulling that the nurse offered me a cervical block which instantly made the pain almost completely go away. I just don’t understand why they refused to administer it preemptively, surely they know this is a very painful procedure? It honestly felt a little cruel. Other than that, the staff was nice enough and I was able to book the procedure quickly (other clinics had long waitlists). If you are looking to getting an IUD insertion done here, I would recommend being firm and not letting them talk you out of receiving pain management, if you want it. I so regret not being more assertive :(

Currently in distress about my situation as I am Dr. Lyons patient and have been waiting on the Respirology department since April to book me in for some more lung testing. After no call backs, and tirelessly trying, the phone is answered in October and am told I can go in THAT day to speak to the Doctor since I hadn’t received my results for my sputum test in April. Dr. Lyons apologized for the tests never having been booked in the first place! Said he would investigate to see what happened. He also told me the that I’d receive a call with the lung tests including a CT scan etc. and for me to call if I haven’t heard from them in a month. It’s now December and nothing. I call and nothing. I now currently am sick with pneumonia whereas everyone else in my family just has a small infection because my system is already unwell. And you guys can’t even BOOK me in for the tests I’m supposed to do? What is happening to our healthcare system? I’ll write down the names of the receptionist once I have them because 2 were super rude and awful.

Went in for a COVID test after developing some mild symptoms. Extremely well organized and kind staff. Was in and out in less than an hour. Their online back end for getting results is simple and user friendly. Would give them 10 stars if I could. These front line workers are owed a debt of gratitude that can never be paid. Heroes all of them.

I continue to be thoroughly impressed with the whole team at Women's College Hospital. Staff including Doctors, Nurses and Techs are extremely kind and helpful. The fact that so many different services are provided through Women's College makes for efficient medical record access amongst any health care team members. Additionally, their use of the MyChart app for access to all appointment bookings, test results, chatting with the medical team, etc is something I haven't experienced before anywhere else. I would (and already do) recommend anyone considering using any of the services at Women's College Hospital to use them. You won't regret the high quality of care and the caring and friendly staff.

I tried to reach endocrinology department and left multiple voicemails. But I have not got any response still. It’s been more than 6 months since I got an appointment scheduled with the doctor. They don’t care to follow up with their patients and ensure they are on their right medication and dosage. They have not bothered to give me a call back despite the repeated voicemails. Frustrating and disoriented hospital service that I have ever seen.

My friend attempted to get an appointment at the gastrointestinal clinic here after being referred by an ER doctor. The front desk must be run by a literal group of monkeys. Not only are they completely incompetent to the point where they'd prescribe Advil to a person having a seizure, but they are the most insufferable, rude, and unpleasant people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I've had better customer experiences with bouncers at sketchy nightclubs. 0/10 just lie down and accept you're gonna die

My OB is AMAZING. This review is about the RECEPTIONIST named Sahair. I had been calling to make aware that I’d be 5 mins late but no one answered. So I walked in and thought I’d see the receptionist busy on the phone, but she wasn’t. She was typing on the computer. I asked out of curiosity if the phone was working and Sahair immediately became defensive with attitude, saying all calls are all on hold! I asked her to be calm, I was only asking a question and she continued to give me attitude while explaining that she’s busy doing something and not taking calls. I said okay, I’m 5 mins late for my appointment and need to check in. She asked me if I had tried checking in on the Kiosk but I know from experience that it never works for me. Must be a mix up with my health card number or name that they have on file. Regardless, I informed her and she asked me to wait. When she finally finished, she asked me if I was the one on hold, even though I was standing in front of her. I replied “no”, then she answered the call and began to serve the person on the call before me. I then said, “excuse me can you please check me in first since I’m standing in front of you?” and she said to the person on the phone “sorry I’m going to have to put you on hold because the person in front of me is very impatient”. How rude of her and inconsiderate. I’m 9 months pregnant and she had no compassion for me standing there on my feet waiting. She has no manners. Not all the receptionist are like this and it was my first time encountering her.

The nurses, doctors, and counseler that I had for my time here we’re all amazing and so kind. The hospital it’s self is really nicely designed and very clean. The receptionists on the other hand have so much attitude, are quite judgey and I was really unimpressed with them. Never EVER try to call there because they will never answer the phones. I had to keep going into the hospital if I wanted to book/change my appointment or talk to anyone. I left a message one day and someone finally got back to me a WEEK later, after I had already been in for my appointment. You would think that for a hospital they would be more on top of phone calls. This needs to be addressed and fixed. I hope I never have to go back here.

Disappointment is an understatement. I had listened to Dr.Selk's podcasts and heard good things until I tried to get an appointment for a severe condition and was told i cannot get an appointment until 2024! 2 YEARS? Lack of care and empathy to not even get some sort of care guide in the mean time etc... if you are in urgent need, AVOID the process of referral form in the first place and find someone else.

Do not risk your life if have any condition that is even slightly complex. This is a teaching college. You are better off going to a specialist in a private practice or where you will actual get to talk with a specialist. Their Ambulatory care unit, and specialist offices are filled with trainees or amateurs, who have little to zero knowledge, because of a disorder my body was producing a very high amount of hormone, the ambulatory NP didnt even find that unusual even though she had the numbers. To be honest it seems like doctors who cant handle the physician life or has the grit, instinct to meticulously solve health problems, they work here so they can supervise and teach some trainee. And enjoy a more cosy life. They are very highly decorated with high ranks, so good luck holding them accountable for their work. Bad Departments Ambulatory Care Unit, Endocrinology , there may be more which I cant comment because I didn't go there. You have no recourse if they do anything wrong, so to save yourself please use this facility for simple medical problems. You may think you are lucky you got an appointment there with a specialist, you are mistaken, you are the product, they need you to run their trainees on, It is like going to a trainee dentist for a root canal at UofT, would you do that? No, you would maximum clean your teeth there, but never get a root canal or anything complex. This is a not rant post. I was motivated to write this long review, because you do not know how helpless you will feel you are in need of medical care and you have walked into a place that will make things worse and can possibly kill/worsen your complex situation.

We tried calling to make an appointment about 10 times and the lines were all busy but when we get to the hospital the woc nurse on the third floor bay center with the different coloured eyes was extremely rude and not helpful whatsoever. We came in for an extremely delicate topic and she was being loud and announced our business to the whole waiting room. Completely unprofessional and the only reason im putting her on blast is because when other women come in for sensitive things they will be greeted with the same embarrassment.

I've had two invasive procedures done at this hospital and I can say that it is the absolute top shelf of healthcare in every way. Doctors, both female, took their time to listen to me, calm my fears and their treatment was absolutely exceptional. I cannot say how thankful I am for this hospital and their kind & patient care.

I had surgery here June 26th on the 8th floor and from start to finish I received exceptional care.. I beleive common courtesy makes everyone's day lighter. Please be kind and respectful to our healthcare workers it is not their fault why you're sick. They are only trying to help. I was kept in recovery a few hours longer and put on IV due to my sodium level . The nurses kept checking on me a nd brought me juice and pain management. Even when I told them I had a dream that I would escape I could hear them laughing and encouraging me to take the rest. I am sure they thought it was the meds speaking. A big thank you to Dr. Sved and the entire team that took care of me. I am grateful for a safe surgery and for all you do. Bonus: free WIFI and spotless facility. Thank You

I haven't even made it to my appointment yet and I'm disappointed in this hospital. The web portal does not accept 10-digit health card numbers in any browser except a Chrome-based one. When I emailed them asking for help, I was initially given a new activation code which didn't solve my problem at all. When I asked if they actually read my email, they replied yes, they tested it and the website worked just fine. I sent a screenshot showing it didn't, and I got an email back to "use Google Chrome as that is the recommend browser" (spelling/grammar left as-is). It is NOT disclosed on the registration page that Chrome is the recommended browser. Why even provide another activation code if YOU KNOW the website only works on Chrome? That should have been the first suggestion rather than wasting time. If this is an example of the people who work here, I dread attending my appointment for cardiology.

They did good take care of me during and after the surgery. Nurses are so nice and polite here. Thank you so much for taking care of me. I really appreciate everyone’s hard work.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this Gynaecology department at this hospital. The staff was shockingly unprofessional, displaying rudeness and disrespect in their interactions. My appointment was scheduled for 10:30 AM, but I ended up waiting until 12:00 PM without any explanation or consideration. When I inquired about my turn, I was met with indifference, as they couldn't provide a clear timeframe for my wait. This experience was disheartening, especially when seeking medical assistance while dealing with health issues. I hope no one has to endure such a distressing encounter at this hospital.

I was in and out of my CT Scan in no time. Not to say that you should expect that, because hospitals can be busy. The woman who situated me and did my scan was incredibly pleasant and warm. I wanted to put 4/5 stars because of yesterday’s experience with a receptionist over the phone who was rude for zero reason. But I dont want her to reflect the entire hospital. I’m just hoping not everyone gets that treatment especially seniors trying to seek information.

Every time I come to my specialist I can arrive on time, first appointment of the day and still am never seen on time. Waited to see the doctor for an hour now. No appreciation for the importance of the patient's time. It is sad that afterwards, I was able to get blood work and go to a walk-in clinic in less time than my appointment took today.

If you want to have a good IUD insertion experience, this is the place! Dr. Dara was amazing! I did not feel any pain! She freeze the location, she was quick and patience, she was talking with me the whole time. I suggest you to pick this place, everybody is kind and the hospital is so clean. I had a very pleasant experience and I am telling this as someone who had a horrific experience at a different hospital. It was super painful. I wish I found this hospital earlier so I would!’t have a traumatic experience at women’s care clinic. I am so happy to visit Women’s College Hospital!

I even got a call the day after discharge to check on my welfare. Thank you so much for the care and attention you all gave to me during my visit. You all are a wonderful bunch of people!! Thanks again!!

Acute ambulatory care unit: You get sent there by an ER, you’re coughing up blood, it’s coming out your nose, your lungs feel like broken glass and you are unable to even make it out of bed to make yourself something to eat; you feel disabled—expect to be gaslighted, dismissed, given a lecture on a subject you are more than familiar with, and told people are “generally bad at describing symptoms” as if you have no agency or credibility over what’s going on with your own body. All I got by way of “assessment” was a blood pressure check. After the long and patronizing lecture, that is. All of this is a little contradictory to the name of this department, isn’t it? Just to clarify; this was done by a doctor who apparently also teaches others. The nursing staff were all nice. [Written as I continue to sniff and cough blood and my lungs feel like they’re on fire]

The psych service is evil to mothers. I was referred to them while still pregnant. I had the baby and thought it was complication free, it was not, I foolishly turned them down. My period came back 6 months post partum, manifesting my endometritis. I asked them to take me back. They said no. 2 years later I still have vulvodynia and medical complications. I think I have PTSD. I went to a walk in to get a referral, was so traumatized in having to retell my story I snapped at that doc, was yelled at, then sat there crying for 10 minutes. I went to the ER in the middle of the night for insomnia. I call Women's College to see if they got the referral, and they just closed the Trauma program down!!!! They let doctors refer patients to a closed down program. I asked reproductive life stages to take me, and they said no because I'm more than 1 year post partum. My trauma is 100% obstetric. I have vaginal pain. I have been to more than half a dozen walk in clinics and ERs and still do not have a psychiatrist. Fundamentally they do not care about patients. Nobody in Canada cares about mothers.

I went in for day surgery in Urology due to Cancer diagnosis. I am so glad I went to Dr Krakowsky, he, his staff members, nurses, Anethetist, literally every member from the reception, to Covid screener, were all so kind and friendly. Incredible facility. I needed Diagnostic Imaging, the requisition was faxed to them and two days later they booked me for a same day appt. The staff were friendly and very informative. I didn't wait at all, my appt was at 1pm, I was in at 1:10pm. The original requisition went into Toronto General, when I called the DI department they told me that faxes take 5 days to process and that they were booking over a month out. The technician at WCH said that the DI is read by a Radiologist in the UHN, *so you are getting the same pool of "readers" if you go to WCH, or Mount Sinai, or TGH. I HIGHLY recommend Women's College Hospital, I had never used their services before; exceptional care!

The lineup for the COVID test is not that bad. The only thing I don't get is the security guy will ask you to take off your mask and give you a new one, and it doesn't matter you wear a brand new one or not. I didn't t feel safer to wear their new mask when I took off mine, and people were coughing even with their masks. Remember, this is the lineup for COVID tests...

WCH has a great family practice healthcare centre. Everyone has their own family doctor, but if you need an emergency appointment you can see another doctor who is available day of or next day. They have really great, flexible hours from Monday to Thursday 9-8, Friday 9-5 and Saturday 9-1. The nurses and receptionist are also very friendly and helpful. Initially my experience at WCH was not great, because of the wait time, but when I met Ina Radziunas that made up for everything, she is the most wonderful nurse I ever met, she explains everything in detail, she is very caring and gentle, the way a nurse aught to be. The hospitals need more nurses like Ina Radziunas she made up for the whole hospital. Also, if you are looking for a good rheumatologist, Dr J. Hockman at WCH is the way to go.

The minute I walked in, everyone involved followed proper COVID procedures. They vet you by providing a new fresh mask, asking questions, as well as asking you to sanitize your hands with their sanitation stations. The actual procedure/appointment I was here for went completely flawless. The ladies who assisted me were angels. Incredibly friendly, easy to speak to, helped ease my anxiety consistently, and made sure to answer any hesitation or question I had. They were professional, followed COVID protocols, and were just so nice. Thank you Ms. Warden and to your assistant. I am so grateful for the kindness and patience you extended to me today.

I met three Doctors, and dealt with staff members in the “blue team” family division (3rd floor). My doctor’s secretary is really rude, pushy, impatient, very unpleasant, and comes-across as tired and overworked. To my very great surprise, Doctors there (a least some of the younger ones who just got out of med school 4-5 years ago) truly only care for themselves and what they stand for; they don’t truly, genuinely care about the well-being of their patients; they don’t put their patients well-being above their own; at least the two doctors I’ve seen don’t come across as being altruistic as they portray doctors to be. They are just very good at pretending they care. Ive been very disappointed and not let down. At this location, the hypocrite’s oath seems like a more appropriate label than the hippocratic oath.

I went to the blood lab@WCH. I have ABYSMAL veins. It usually takes labs several tries on different days and I look like a human pincushion- and I have practical experience with phlebotomy so I recognize someone who will do a good job pretty quickly. Angel was my technician. She was lovely, personable but more importantly: She spent a long time feeling for my venous structure under the skin and Checking many different spots instead of what most people do which is come back to the crook of your arm (which won’t work on me) like they’re magnetically drawn to them… she demonstrated a level of competence that’s rare, honestly. It took a while, but it always does; the important part is that when she did poke she had a good plan each time, no mindless fishing, and when we finally did find an actual vein that you could feel through the skin, she nailed it no problem Angel deserves a raise!

Went to WCH today for a uterine biopsy. I was really nervous because I had the same procedure about 3 years ago, made by a really insensitive doctor and it was one of the most painful experiences of my life! I told the nurse (Gail) and Dr Jacobson that I was very scared and they were very supportive and encouraging and did everything they could to help me go through it. Having not only qualified, but also kind professionals treating you is priceless.

After waiting a year to get in, I was told that I might have cancer & a rare (scary) skin disease . It was very obvious that I had neither but no one took the time to actually look at my profile. After, I was then told that nothing was wrong with me.... . I then went to the states and they pointed out many things that were done wrong by this hospital. The biopsy result that came back saying that I may have cancer was not for the right body part and left me in pain for months. They also figured out what is wrong with me but I had to pay thousands of dollars and still more to get to the finish line of healing.

I have been dealing with this hospital for years and in general I am full of praise. That it until I had to deal with the Respirology Dept. I assume that something happened to the receptionist as it is impossible to get a call back. At first, there was a mistake and an appointment was booked with the wrong doctor. That took five months to correct. Now, I leave messages on a daily basis. Not one call back - not one! Unacceptable. You meed a new receptionist.

Terribly unprofessional behaviour by staff. They shame and embarrass patients when they are at their most vulnerable. As a younger woman (only 18) I expressed relief to a doctor after clear STD testing. As I was leaving the clinic the doctor was mocking me to the other staff that I was relieved. That has stuck with me all these years later. Why that woman became a doctor only to shame young women, I have no idea. I went back a few years ago and was put in a room in just a gown and was told to wait with my feet up. Several people walked into the room mistakenly while I was just laying there naked. Who runs this place?! Honestly, I suggest no woman ever go there.

There is a pool of blood on my back in the area I was injured since last month. I’m in SEVERE pain. I have nerve pain and My back is going to explode from the pressure of the blood. My mother was referred here after her stroke due to her extremely serious condition. While waiting for an appointment it was discovered that she had a severe blockage in her leg and was going to lose the leg if surgery was not performed. I called the hospital repeatedly to reschedule and nobody answered the phone so I left a voicemail explaining she was having emergency surgery for when the appointment was and needed to rebook. I noticed they were on a higher floor and my mom has a serious mental health issue claustrophobia and cannot take elevators if it is possible to be seen on a lower floor. I never received a call back and we just received in the mail a random appointment that was scheduled. Before the second appointment my mother had complications and was in the emergency so I once again called and explained she was in the emergency and wouldn’t be able to attend and this time offered if it was possible to keep the appointment and do it virtually as she has with several other doctors. Once again I received no call back and just a letter rebooking the appointment for a couple months later. I repeatedly called to ask the question about the appointment being on a higher floor and what options there could be to accommodate such as a virtual appointment or meeting on a lower floor and once again nobody answered the phone. Since there was no response and she can’t walk up the stairs as she was still healing I left another message saying if we could do a virtual appointment or else due to the circumstances we would not be able to attend. Several weeks went by and we receive in the mail a letter that was also sent to my mothers referring physician that my mother no showed 3 appointments and that she’s not taking the situation seriously and will not be given another appointment. With all the health care workers constantly complaining they are overworked they somehow had time to fabricate this lie about a patient and maliciously lie to attack her character is nothing short or appalling and disgusting. I called the patient relations about this matter and have been stonewalled and ignored. They didn’t even have the decency to call me. In the last year my mom has had to meet with numerous doctors in multiple cities and everyone was an appointment missed and this hospital wants to lie and attack her character. We have records of the surgery from the first reschedule (which the doctor they sent the letter to was present for) and records from her being in the emerg for the second cancellation that they ignored us about. I even have my phone records and screenshots day/time stamped the numerous calls I placed to them. They ignored the fact she couldn’t claim the stairs due to health and a mental health issue. Every other of the numerous doctors have accommodated for this by virtual appointments or having the appointments on a low floor and this hospital not only ignored the issue but attacked her character. Since you’ve chose to ignore this situation and couldn’t be bothered to pick up a phone and return my call after the many emails I sent I am going to take action. I’ve worked in the media for over 20 years in Canada and the US and I’ve booked multiple appearances on extremely popular and watched programs where I will be letting the public know of your disgusting treatment and how you make a mockery out of a mental health issue. I can assure you I will be pursing action for your lies defaming my mother’s character to the referring physician not to mention putting her health at risk since you have nothing better to do than ignore patients then make up lies about them. I’ve given this hospital the last 3 weeks to respond and write a follow up letter to the referring physician to correct their mistake and all they’ve given me is excuses and the run around and haven’t even called us.
