👍 A small cute boutique fitness club. The staff was very sweet, and the restrooms are very beautiful and accommodating. The equipment suffices for a decent hour long workout session. People often mention Move, coaches, fitness, MOVE, amazing, great, workout, classes, community, women,

Move’s outdoor workouts are the best! Whether we are working out through heat, humidity, rain (or even snow!!) they are held at some of our neighbourhood’s loveliest parks and always leave me feeling great. The format is varied which keeps it fresh, and I love being able to just turn up and work- no planning on my end. Super fun environment with a very supportive group and excellent coaching. I am so glad to get out of my living room and into the park!

Move is my happy place! I never enjoyed going to the gym but with Move it's a totally different story. The small group classes are led by knowledgeable and expert coaches who focus on technique while still keeping classes fun. The focus here is on becoming stronger, learning new skills and gaining self-confidence, not on picking apart your bodie's "problem areas". This is more than just a gym, it is a community of strong women who support one another and cheer each other on. The fact that it also has spa-like amenities is just the icing on the cake. I can't recommend Move highly enough!

MOVE is such an awesome gym, and Kelly (the founder) has built a beautiful facility and a team of amazing coaches. The first coach that I met was Monica, and she was so welcoming and friendly. After the first class, I couldn't wait to go back! Coach Alex's positive energy is contagious, and I love the tips that she provides each class. This summer, I participated in the Summer of Strong, and I am so happy with the progress that I have made with my squats, deadlifts, bench press, and strict press. I have learned so much from all the trainers on proper form, and the environment is very supportive and encouraging. I love the focus on getting strong and learning to appreciate our bodies for what they can do! I highly recommend MOVE for women of all fitness levels.

Becca is a wonderful personal trainer. She has helped me gain strength and flexibility. She is very knowledgeable about proper programming for seniors. My body feels so much stronger and I no longer feel stiff and sore. I move through my days much easier now. I am very grateful for her!

Move has been the single most important part of my postpartum self-care regimen. It is a truly special place and brought me back to feeling like myself after a challenging pregnancy. The childcare option is wonderful and my baby is always well looked after. The coaches are kind, fun, and very knowledgeable. They will customize the workout to injuries, postpartum, new to fitness, etc. The community is also amazing. I love that women of all ages/sizes/experience work out together and the focus is *never* on appearance, but always on building strength and motivating each other. I’ve never once heard a coach comment on “rock hard abs” or other superficial nonsense you hear so often at other gyms. There aren’t even mirrors in the weights area, which I really loved as I struggled with body confidence after baby. Classes are super fun, full of jokes and laughter, great music, high fives, you name it. The coaches make it safe to go outside your comfort zone and try something new. You will feel at home here. I do, and am super grateful for that. I’ve worked out at many boutique gyms across Toronto and Move tops the list.

This boutique group class and personal training gym that's created for women exclusively has thought of everything women want. Smoothie bar, nutritionist services, child minding, high-end products, great hair tools, sauna, plus way more all in a non-judgey and ACTUALLY supportive environment. We took the Get Strong class that focuses on full body strength training and conditioning, doing everything from kettle-bell swings to rope throws. We rated it "Hard" in the end as we weren't pushed to our absolute max but because the structure of the classes is self-guided there's opportunity to adjust your pace. Well worth a visit, even if your not an east end dweller, go for the reverse osmosis water, alone.

I had a great time with my trainer, lots of new equipment. It's definitely set up as a safe space for women. They just need to make it more visible from the street.

Move Fitness Club is a very special place. Bethany’s personal training sessions are incredible, I look forward to seeing her every week and am so pleased with her phenomenal work. Her workouts are always what I need at the moment, whether it be an especially challenging workout or a more restorative session. I leave feeling strong, inspired and motivated. Thank you Bethany for your excellent work and thank you Move team for maintaining such a lovely facility.

Move is not just a gym! It is an inspiring, strong, motivating and connected community. All the coaches are amazing, competent, friendly and ready to push you beyond your limits. Workouts are challenging and invigorating. Coaches supervise how every individual team member is doing the workouts to prevent any injuries and to ensure we fully benefit from all the movements. It is like having a workout in a group setting, but with a personal trainer. The space is incredibly clean, modern and organized. Thank you Move and all my wonderful teammates who make working out such a pleasant experience for me!

From the moment I stepped foot in MOVE I felt comfortable and welcomed. This gym is about community, support, encouragement, positivity and inclusivity. It is about real women committed to challenging and empowering themselves through fitness. It is inspiring and motivating. Quite simply... MOVE is a special place. And the coaches... I truly can’t say enough about the coaches. They are the heartbeat! 💗

I started training at Move Fitness at 6 weeks post-partum. That golden week you’re given the “all clear” from your OB, and you finally don’t feel like your insides are going to fall out just by doing a jumping jack. My husband gifted me with 2 months at this incredible facility – knowing that one of my passions and outlets for happiness is fitness. When I first got to Move, I was weak, sleep deprived, and a former shell of my past physique. @kellytaphouse took me back to basics and focused on helping me move better. She asked me what my goals were and made me retool my answers so they weren’t physique focused. Move helped me get back into shape and it has given me a new found fascination and appreciation with how resilient the human body is - with its ability to stretch, create and incubate a human being to then shrink back but also grow in strength to feed, carry, and then chase that human being. When I first started going to Move, some days it was the only thing I’d do because I was so damn exhausted. But it was also one of the main things that helped me recover and feel like my former self – and maybe even a better version of my former self. Version 2.0. I started at Move using the green elastic band (the friendliest of the bunch) to assist in my chin-ups and here I am, 7 months later doing them unassisted. As I wrap up my mat leave I am so grateful to have found such a welcoming, fun, incredible community and trainers that helped me keep my sanity and strength.

Amazing gym! Where to start - beautiful and clean facilities with free Kiel's products so all you have to do is show up and work. The classes during the week focus on strength training and weekends on cardio. Love both! Now on to the most important part: the culture. You can find a gym with strength training classes anywhere, but Move is brimming with positive women who encourage each other and celebrate milestones. You won't get weighed in here, nor will you be asked how many inches you've lost. It's all about positive reinforcement. Do your clothes fit better? Are you lifting heavier? You choose your own weights, so beginners and advanced trainers are equally challenged. Feel lucky to be a part of this growing community!

Beautiful space, incredible workout. Fun strength/conditioning circuit training in a welcoming environment. Just 14 people in the class and they started making smoothies for us while we were doing our cool-down. Much appreciated! So much personal attention and motivation. The trainers know everyone's name. Also appreciated the stunning locker rooms and showers, fully-stocked with Kiehl's products. I drove all the way from Oakville to try out MOVE Fitness and it was definitely worth the drive. I'll be working it into my weekly routine - for sure! (My ass looks 10x better after just one class, so how could I not?!)

Move Fitness - strength, style, substance. It's so much more than a gym - it's a community. A group of strong, inspiring women who are equal parts coach, competitor, and confidant. It's a safe place to test my limits - and exceed my own expectations. It's where I learned to value my body for its power and strength, and where I feel safe trying moves like handstands, monkey bars, and chin-ups. I am so grateful for this amazing place.

I work out twice a week at MOVE and as someone who has always had a hate-hate it more relationship with fitness. Started working out with Barb in June and for the first time ever I can say I enjoy working out. The club is easy to get to, never have issues with parking, and Barb is an amazing trainer who takes into consideration attainable fitness goals, lifestyle and the general mindset. Love the fact that they just added naturopath services as well.

I joined MOVE a year ago, and given how great the coaches are (they talk you through the movements, what areas of your body are impacted, and modifications that work for you), the class timings (morning and evening lessons), and the sense of belonging you feel, it’s no surprise that I keep going back. As long as I am in Leslieville, I will be heading over to MOVE!

I've been wanting to try weightlifting for a while but was always intimidated by gyms. MOVE is just what I needed. It offered a safe space, an all women supportive environment in which modification are always provided. All instructors are honestly the coolest and most fun to train with and the class is always kept small so it's basically almost personal training. This is such an awesome environment to support and be part of!

I trained with Bethany from October to April. I have gym anxiety and was really nervous about working out. Bethany made the space so welcoming and amazing. The past months working with her have allowed me to grow so much in my fitness journey. I cannot recommend her services enough. She really takes the time to get to know you and your goals. I looked forward to every session with her! She has really motivated me to keep going with my fitness journey!!

I've been training with Bethany for just over a month and she is incredible. She listens to your goals and is incredibly supportive and non-judgmental. I've gone to boutique gyms in the past, but working with her is a really different experience; my form is way better than it ever has been and I'm feeling the strongest I've ever felt. MOVE also has a lot of really nice amenities and is a non-judgmental space.

At Move Fitness the whole team very take great pride at what they do. Each of them are extremely professional and all do everything they can to make you feel good in your body, mind & spirit. The team is here to push you reach your goals, they are here to support you and listen. Recently they just brought in a new member, Dr. Jardine who practices acupuncture, naturopathy & more. He takes his role very seriously, takes the time to go over all the questions you might have and helps you understand any illness or discomfort you are concerned about. I recently did an acupuncture session and it won’t be my last. It is very important to take care of ourselves and it feels so good! Thank you to the Move fitness team.

Move is a wonderful community and fantastic gym. The coaches are knowledgeable, caring and experts in their field. They spend quality one on one time correcting and guiding you as you workout even if the group classes. They also pay attention to your particular life circumstances, including when postpartum, to make sure your workout is a tailored experience. Kelly Taphouse has built a community of strong women at Move and there is no better place to workout in the east end of the city.

Can’t say enough amazing things about the studio! Everyone is incredibly friendly and approachable, and genuinely cares about how to best help you achieve your fitness goals in the way that you will enjoy and stick to it. Loving such a non-intimidating, supportive, and empowering atmosphere. And thanks to Monica’s wonderfulness, it has been such a fun week and can’t wait to visit again! 😊

Safe, clean and fun gym. I had never lifted weights before and the coaches really made sure I was doing each movement properly before adding weight. I’ve noticed I’m much stronger already only after a couple months. The vibe is laid back and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Amazing fitness community for women. All the coaches are amazing and know how to cater to your individual fitness needs. It doesn't matter where you are in your fitness journey, everyone (coaches & members) is extremely supportive, the focus is not on your body, but rather what your body can do. It is through this club that I've discovered how empowering weight training can be!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with MOVE so far. Here’s what I love… - Amazing, knowledgeable leaders/instructors – always in a great mood, and always provide you with a tip you can use to ensure you have the right technique. Clearly experienced. - The format – I like when things are repetitive but only repeating a couple of things and then for a set period of time. Makes it easy to know what you need to do and spend the time focusing on that vs. trying to figure out the activity. - The workout – I always leave feeling like I’ve had a challenging workout. I’m sweating and I feel good.

MOVE is such a wonderful, positive community with a beautiful workout space and lovely, kind coaches! My whole life has changed for the better since I started taking classes here 7 months ago — my body image has improved massively and I can see myself getting so much stronger! Before I started here, I'd never exercised before — I couldn't even do a squat! — so I emailed MOVE to make sure the classes would be doable, and Monica answered and was so reassuring and helpful. The classes really are adjustable to any experience level, and the coaches are eager to help you grow and improve. And I love that MOVE's focus is on strength rather than physical transformations! I used to have so many issues with body confidence and noticed a pretty immediate shift in mindset when I started at MOVE — getting stronger made me view my body in a healthier, more positive way! I'm so glad I took the plunge and decided to try these classes because they've had such a positive effect on my physical and mental wellbeing. The community is so uplifting and supportive, the coaches are so friendly and welcoming. This is a truly wonderful place to work out! UPDATED REVIEW: I wrote my original review pre-pandemic and thought I should add a little update. MOVE quickly adapted to offering virtual classes and I took them for months and saw myself getting stronger even through at-home workouts (when the gym reopened later, I was actually lifting heavier weights than I was before the pandemic!). The classes are fun, the coaches all so helpful and caring, and I always work up a sweat. I got one of my coworkers to try them and she loved the virtual workouts, too. The coaches still provide feedback through video but there's also no pressure to turn your camera on if you don't feel comfortable. When the gym reopened, I was really impressed by the safety protocols in place and always felt very safe. You fill out a form before class to confirm you haven't had symptoms or been near anyone who has, mandatory temperature check and hand washing before class, masks are worn whenever you leave your workout area (which is marked off on the floor), lockers are numbered so you don't choose one that's next to someone else's, hand sanitizer through the club, and everyone sprays and wipes down their equipment with disinfectant before they put it away. All the members have been super careful and compliant with these rules and everyone is just excited to be moving in-person again! With Ontario going back into Stage 2, I'll happily be taking the virtual classes again until we can return to the gym in-person. I can't say enough good things about MOVE fitness club — this is my happy place! They've really transformed my life over the past year and a bit.

I'm loving my experience at MOVE fitness, and feel like it's such a great fit for me. I was very committed to fitness prior to my pregnancy but was a bit apprehensive about getting back into it after a c-section. The format of the classes is so great with very helpful instruction and modifications - I've already noticed a huge difference in my energy & am slowly building back strength. Loving the childcare too, which has allowed me to work-out consistently through the week.

MOVE Fitness Club. I can’t say enough amazing things about the club, but more importantly the strong, kind, supportive, kick-ass women that run that place. I’ve become so much stronger, feel more confident and have way better posture. But what I love most is how much better I feel about my body, I don’t need a scale, or need to be a size whatever, I feel great, and that’s the important thing!❤️❤️

This is a fantastic gym on many fronts. Move is stacked with such knowledgeable and enthusiastic trainers who all give their attention to form while keeping the vibe so positive. Kelly has created such an inviting space to spend quality time getting healthy and strong. I am so much happier joining this supportive community that values health and fitness. Thank you!!

I joined a month ago on an unlimited package, and this is the most fun I've had with weights in....forever? The entire staff is kind, knowledgeable, and push you in all the right (and safe!) ways. It's INSANELY empowering to work out with a bunch of fierce, badass amazons (both the staff and the other members) who are constantly pushing themselves and others to hit new PRS and believe in what our bodies can do. They also have childminding for anyone with little ones! Cannot recommend enough for anyone who's looking to shake their fear of lifting, feel empowered, and work out in a supportive and fun community of women!

Move is a gorgeous gym that will also seriously kick your butt! The classes are intense and the coaches are friendly, welcoming and do an amazing job of pushing you to do your personal best. In just the few months I've been going I am noticeably stronger, more energetic, healthier and am noticing a few new muscles peeking out to show for all my efforts. Thank you Kelly and the rest of the coaches for creating such a fun and inspiring environment to #getstrong!

I moved to Toronto from the UK a year ago and was lucky enough to find Move fitness within the first few weeks of the move. Being new to Toronto and knowing no one being part of Move really helped me settle, when you train at Move you are made to feel part of their family, Kelly and the team really care for your health, fitness and well being. The classes are amazing and totally unique Move make working out fun, exciting and tough! The Move premises are beautiful truly stunning and the equipment is proffesional and top quality. But...don’t be fooled Move is hard core, they work you hard...very hard. I started out thinking I was pretty fit but I couldn’t do a push up or a pull up... I never dreamed of being asked to do a handstand!! Julie soon worked me into shape she has an amazing character and you work harder because you want to do it not just for you but also for her. The music is loud the atmosphere is buzzing the work out is hard and the encouragement is huge. The attention to detail on your workout and your work out technique is amazing and even if you have an injury or ongoing medical problem the Move team adapt your workout around it so you can always get the most out of your workout. I’m moving back to the UK in a week and one of the things I will miss the most is Move, it’s truly unique...I know I will never find any work out like it. I will truly miss Kelly, Julie and the team...thank you guys for looking after me so much and building up my muscles!! Sammie Bowman

What an amazing experience it has been to be a part of the Move community! After trying a few different concept gyms including Crossfit, bootcamps, etc., I joined Move more than a year ago. The space is beautiful, clean, well equipped with an immaculate change room, showers, and an infrared sauna. The coaches are very competent, assertive, friendly and extremely motivating. It is basically like having a personal trainer dedicated to you who would encourage, correct your moves and cheer you on to complete the class. There are variety of very effective workouts to choose from. I am achieving the results based on my personal goals and have made so many great connections with the ladies at the gym. Thank you Kelly and the team!

Walking through the doors of Move two years ago represented a most important return to fitness for me. Having formerly loved strength training and knowing that I now require the appointment of a group lead program, Move provided just that (well I needed it 13 years ago too, but that's another story). The coaches are amazing, the messages are empowering, the environment is clean and nourishing. Thanks, Move! Keep doing what you're doing, 'cause it's great.

A wonderful place to get started (or continue your journey) with strength training. The coaches are fantastic, pay close attention to the posture/technique during workout so you're never worried if you're doing something 'wrong'. They offer different variations of the exercise so you can start at the level you feel comfortable and progress as you get stronger. And heck, it works!! I was never able to do a push up or a chin up, until I started regularly working out at MOVE. The atmosphere is warm and inclusive. Well-planned schedule during the week (morning/evening workouts), and an amazing conditioning class on Saturday mornings to get your heart pumping :-)

I’ve been a member at MOVE since they opened. It’s a beautiful space, with fantastic trainers and a great community of women. I started there at 6 months postpartum and basically at ground zero in terms of fitness. I found a place and program that pushed me to be stronger than I ever have and most importantly to be consistent and love fitness in a new way. The staff and members are inviting and encouraging no matter where you are in your journey.

I started working out with Rebecca at Move Fitness Club three months ago to improve mobility range, strength and flexibility and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I am an older woman who had never set foot in a gym until I joined Move. Rebecca is knowledgeable, kind and very patient. She perfectly understands my goals, encourages me to try exercises I never thought I could manage, and keeps me motivated. The gym is very clean and bright, all the coaches are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Move for several years. The gym has top of the line equipment and it's a welcoming space. The coaches are encouraging and knowledgeable and it's evident that the focus is on the workout and not on external "results". This community of women has kept me coming back again and again and has helped keep me fit (including over the pandemic) body and mind.

This gym is great! Super friendly vibe, the coaches are amazing. I've been working with my coach Rebecca for several months now and she's incredibly knowledgeable, and attentive to individual needs. She always has tons of variations to try if a movement is difficult and is really intentional about building strength in weaker areas. I couldn't recommend Rebecca more, especially if you're just coming back to the gym.

I fell in love with MOVE from the moment I walked in over 4 years ago. MOVE's classes are energizing, effective and challenging and the coaches are encouraging and very knowledgeable. In combination with the supportive community, the gym's beautiful studio, the equipment selection to the post-workout smoothie, I 10/10 recommend!
