Great little spot in the Junction Triangle. So glad their classes opened up beyond 630am again. I'm a ClassPass user, which is ideal for accessing different studios and gyms in the neighbourhood - gotta spread the love. But this place is exactly what I need for weights and strength training as there's instruction that goes along with your workout. I shall be frequenting again!

"BE" is perfect for anyone, whether you live nearby or at a distance. I've visited this gym a few times, and one of those visits was for a Wim Hof workshop. The class was super fun & educational—definitely time well spent! What I particularly LOVE about this place is the variety of classes and workshops they offer. It's not just about sweating it out; there's always something fun happening here! Also, John the owner, is extremely passionate about creating a professional and enjoyable space for both his coaches and clients to grow and achieve their personal goals. He takes pride in maintaining this space—you'll understand what I mean as soon as you step inside. The staff is friendly, professional & supportive, and the facility and equipment are consistently top-notch! I HIGHLY recommend signing up and experiencing it for yourself!

BE is the best gym in Toronto!! I love how attentive and motivating the coaches are. The class sizes are small enough so you can get individual attention and corrections as needed. I have tried out many different gyms and BE is hands down the best in the city. Thank you for challenging me to lift more than I ever thought I could!

I’ve been to ALOT of gyms, fitness clubs, and classes in Toronto - and it takes a lot for me to give a 5 star rating. I’ve been going to BE for 5 months straight, renewing 6 week packages for 3x week small format (5-6 people) weight lifting. It’s the perfect recipe of high intensity, form attentive, and having awesome trainers that push you and know your performance. They regularly hold challenges and provide dietary/workout/lifestyle guidance beyond the gym - which has helped me shed 14lbs and feel amazing. Highly recco for those looking for great weight lifting programming and consistent incremental improvement.

This is the greatest gym on the planet. I have have been going to Body Engineers for years and even shoot my videos there. The equipment selection is fantastic…it’s very clean and friendly atmosphere. As a world renown Fitness Professional I choose the gyms I use very carefully and this has been my one and only over the past 3 years.

I started working out at BE about 7 months ago. It is a beautiful facility. The staff is friendly and know their stuff. The classes are fun and challenging, and my favourite thing is how the BE team and the clients created this awesome supportive community. I’ve made new friends here. I’d recommend The Body Engineers to anyone.

My experience at BE is far beyond anything I have tried before. I’ve trained with personal trainers, big gyms, HIIT classes, CrossFit and anything available. Nothing compares with the high quality services provided by The Body Engineers. When I met John, he was very straight forward and he has so much knowledge about fitness, health, diet and that really help me to understand what I need to do to reach my goals. The structure of the classes and personal training is incredible. All the BE team are professional and very helpful to all of us. I am happy to see results. I feel stronger, my quality of life is better and overall I do feel healthier. I highly recommend BE. I am a business owner and I can see how John meticulously runs his business. I have an incredible experience and I will continue supporting John for a very very long time.

I would highly recommend the Body Engineers (BE)gym to anyone looking either to achieve peak fitness/performance or, just wanting to get back into some sort of shape. The latter is me, and I found BE to be super chill, super smart and super welcoming. I had not worked out in a gym in decades and had some trepidation around returning, but the instructors are so great (relaxed, helpful, knowledgeable, fun) that I was immediately able to focus all my attention on working out. I've had some bad knee injuries in the past. They were the reason I chose this gym (front window signage says 'injury recovery'). When I had a tour of the gym, the owner John showed me how some of their machines have slight modifications that don't affect the load you're lifting, but reduce the strain on the initial lift. That was the thing that stuck in my head and convinced me to take part in the BE six-week challenge. Any time there was an activity that I couldn't do, the instructors were able to modify it. In some cases this led to the discovery of exercises that I now know can actually help me reverse the weaknesses brought on by these long ago injuries. Speaking of the challenge, John as a state-of-the-art InBody machine there which measures weight and body composition with precision. If you're looking for a super clean, really cool gym, in a neat neighbourhood (beside the West Toronto railpath) that's run by people who totally know what they're doing, check out The Body Engineers.

I cannot recommend the Body Engineers highly enough. Since starting out with the free BE running group just a couple of months ago I've grown to become a regular member; attending fitness classes in addition to running. It is without doubt the cleanest and most well-kept fitness facility that I've attended. My journey so far has been fun, challenging and supported by the incredible and knowledgeable BE team (huge shoutout to Sheila!) My fitness has noticeably improved in a relatively short space of time, and its especially useful to track exactly how much with the gyms in-body scanning equipment. My experience at the Body Engineers has been an amazing one and I am excited to continue this positive addition to my life in Toronto.

I have been part of a number of different gyms and Body Engineers is one of the best in my opinion. The classes in particular are great. The instructors take time to get to know you, take any injuries seriously and pay special attention to you and somehow always remember the weights you did last time and push you to do more. I couldn’t recommend this gym more for anyone looking.

Best gym I’ve been to by far. John did an excellent job assessing my needs and connecting me with a personal trainer that would be the perfect fit and get me the best results. Carlos is the best trainer I’ve ever worked with and highly recommend using him. The staff is incredible, the gym is always clean and the other members are friendly. Bravo BE! 10/10

I had to work in Toronto for a few weeks and needed to find a temporary gym. I signed up for some sessions with James at the Body Engineers. James was a great personal trainer: patient, supportive, knowledgeable. The vibe in general of BE was super chill and encouraging. If I'm ever back in Toronto for a long stretch I'll be sure to work with BE again!

The BE facility is very spacious with a wide variety of machines & weights. Training with John is fun, efficient and challenging. This coupled with his engineering knowledge provides for a unique expertise on body mechanics. I highly recommend BE to anyone committed to improving their health and fitness goals.

I’ve been wanting to get a personal trainer for literally years, but was always too scared. I’m a pretty fit guy but never took it seriously. From day one with Emanuel, I’ve felt welcomed, appreciated and celebrated each time. I just finished my 24th session and I’m looking forward to 240 more. Clean, spacious gym with all the toys you need. Amazing people. Can’t wait to try the group classes too! If you want results and to feel good getting them, stop procrastinating and get yourself in Body Engineers!

John has put together an amazing group of trainers! I've been able to get my fitness goals within reach due to the efforts of both personal training sessions and weekly classes. The community aspect of the group classes is also fantastic! Definitely recommend body engineers for anyone that has struggled maintaining a regimented routine at a standard 24/7 gym.

I confess that I was intimidated by BE at first. They seemed slick, professional, and a place for pro athletes (which I am not). While they are certainly slick and professional, they are also welcoming and encouraging for members at all fitness levels. The staff leading the classes will tailor the exercises to your abilities while also pushing you to do your best. Everyone is friendly, the equipment is top notch, and you'll get a serious workout. BE is a wonderful gym and I'm very pleased I signed up.

Favourite gym of all time (I say this as a 25 year gym goer). Here you’ll find community, high quality expert trainers, clean space with the full range of new equipment needed for all types of training and conditioning. Classes have adequate spacing between participants - not crammed in like sardines the way the other gyms run their classes. Highly recommended!

The Body Engineers is what I think about when I think of the perfect gym. The facility is bright, obsessively clean, and well laid out on two levels. John has meticulously created this gym and is continually analyzing and tweaking the space. A big draw is the awesome energy and knowledge that you get from the trainers here; they are eager to help you achieve. Small group training sessions allow exercises to be modified for ability, yet the circuits remain intense for every level athlete. In my four months training with the Body Engineers I feel stronger and come to the gym with a “let’s crush it” attitude. I would confidently recommend The Body Engineers.

This is a great community gym! The trainers are very knowledgeable and create a positive environment to work out. The classes offer a variety of workouts throughout the week, while the monthly schedule offers some consistency in my routine and allows me to monitor my progress. They also add classes to the schedule regularly to keep up with demand. Last but not least, the members are really friendly and supportive. Highly recommend The Body Engineers!

When I first joined the Body Engineers, I was brand new to working out in a gym. John immediately put me at ease with his patient and knowledgeable approach. He listened closely, asked questions, and guided me through the process of developing my own goals. He designed responsive sessions and taught me how to practice awareness and control throughout each exercise. When I was physically and mentally exhausted, John prioritized my safety, while motivating me to work hard and stay focused. With so much still to learn, I know I can always reach out to John, or look to the internet for his latest video or blog.

Just had my first PT Session with John in the new Body Engineers Gym. The space is looking great. Having missed 3 weeks due to vacation it was great to get the motivation and encouragement that John delivers with each and every session. He pushes me to my limit and beyond (I appreciate that John, even though I may complain sometimes) and all the time he is ensuring my form is the best it can be so that I don't injure myself while getting the best possible results from each session. Looking forward to the next session. You're the best John !!

Great place and probably the best value for your buck. Joined back for the second time after returning to TO. I find the small batch classes most economical. The facilities are excellent and John has set up a great team. Would recommend this place to everyone especially if one is a beginner.

I would like to express my gratitude for my personal trainer, Emma. Over the past six months, I've experienced a significant improvement in my fitness journey under her guidance. Unlike my previous experiences, I haven't encountered any injuries during our workouts. Emma attentively considers my body condition, providing challenging yet safe exercises that have contributed to my increased strength and overall health. Her keen observation of my posture and immediate corrections showcase her commitment to ensuring my well-being. Additionally, Emma's positive energy creates an enjoyable and motivating atmosphere during our sessions. I highly appreciate her dedication and professionalism.

I started at this gym with their running group. I was skeptical. Wondered if the running group was a sales tactic. And the gym seemed intimidating. Man was I wrong. A lovely community of runners, all ages and abilities and just 5k. No one from gym ever approached me to try to sell. I did eventually join the gym on a trial because my doctor had been recommending strength training for long enough that I had to take it seriously. I am surprised by how much I like it. Small group classes that are intensive but all at your own pace. The trainers come around a correct your posture etc so I haven’t gotten injured yet. And such a sense of community. Both the size and format and location mean it is not snooty, pretentious, and most of us don’t have perfect bods! Love that it is clean and safe too! Anyhow, will stop fishing. Not being paid for this. Just surprised myself, a year later, that I found a place where I kind of enjoy working out.

I have been training with John consistently for the last four months now. John is a knowledgeable and professional trainer that is able to personalize sessions specifically for my post-injury needs. I have already achieved huge gains whilst feeling stronger and more capable than ever before. I would highly recommend Body Engineers to anyone looking for high quality training in a top of the range facility.

Great studio for small group fitness classes. The instructors are passionate and knowledgeable and the owner John is dedicated to improving the health of his clients. Very useful if you want time-effective 60 minute workouts. Good community of regulars developing as well.

I heard about body engineers from a friend and decided to give the place a try. I signed up for 6 months of training which is coming up for renewal this month and I wanted to share my thoughts. If you are a new age "I can't focus for more than 6 seconds" person, here is my TL;DR friendly review - Gym is FIRE. Hell yeah imma renew my training. If you are in the junction neighborhood and need a QUALITY bit of workout... you want to go to BE. (I tried being young - #FAIL) If you don't mind reading and are currently researching gyms, These are my observations and experiences at BE. Gym overall: The gym is organized, clean and stacked with well maintained equipment. The gym has 2 floors with floor space that allows 5 to 6 people to work out comfortably on each floor plus a trainer. They have an in-body scale to scan your body and track your progress. The bathrooms are spotless. I might steal their kettle from the kitchen :D John Murphy, the owner of the establishment, gave me the tour of the gym, sat down with me for my initial (free) consultation and went over my goals & targets before recommending a trainer (I believe there were 7 trainers when i started now 9) who would best fit my requirements. Workout classes: I signed up for the Partner training (2 trained by 1) with my girlfriend and we absolutely love the experience. The trainer makes sure that the workouts are catered to each of our goals. BE also provides Personal training and Group classes (upto 6 trained by 1). Additionally, BE runs a free football (soccer, for you NAsties) games in the summer for all its patrons (which I signed up for thru the app) and a community running group who meet on Wednesdays and Sundays for a run around the Junction neighborhood (which my girlfriend signed up for). Trainer (Emanuel): I was recovering from a major car crash and hadn't walked into a gym in 5 years. I chose the personal training option and signed up with Emanuel. He came up with a workout plan and nutrition plan that has been insanely effective. His workout plan ensured that my injuries didn't start acting up and if it did, he immediately had recovery options. Emanuel is a gym gem... If you get a chance to work out with him TREASURE THE EXPERIENCE. I also had the chance to interact with other trainers at the gym over the past 6 months like John, Riley, James, Emma and David who were all very knowledgeable people and a delight to have a conversation with. You are always in safe hands with the trainers at BE. Community and Other Activities I had a chance to interact with a lot of other patrons of BE and they are all such wonderful people from different backgrounds. Considering most people who come to BE are from the Junction neighborhood, we run into them on the street all the time and have fun conversations. BE promotes a community running group and football games in the summer. They also run challenges at the gym which everyone can participate (free) and compete like the BE Transformed challenge that i took part in. This was a 3-month transformation challenge for the BE community where 20 people participated. Winning the challenge aside, what made me insanely glad that I took part was the support and accountability the BE community took to keep each other in check during the 3 months. I am glad I met these people at the gym. Apps: The gym uses BE Optimized (owned) to help with the bookings and scheduling for customers. I found the app extremely easy to use because of its K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) design. Signing up for not only the classes, but also their other community workout activities was very straightforward. Apart from BE Optimized, I recommend you guys also download the InBody app and the ABC Trainerize app to help keep track of progress and training. In conclusion, BE gets 5 stars from me - a true All-Rounder.

The classes at Body Engineers are amazing with focus on form and building strength. The trainers pay attention to your form and push you just enough! It is a very clean gym and the equipment is state of art.

I've been a client of Body Engineers for close to a year and plan to keep coming back. Prior to joining, I found it a challenge to find the type of strength training class format that I found at Body Engineers in this area of the city. I love their assortment of strength and HIIT style training and they have an excellent team of instructors who provide fun and effective workout formats that keep me engaged and coming back for more. Highly recommend signing up and checking it out for yourself!

John has been my personal trainer (body mechanic!) for several years. I am quite a challenge with complications following a hip replacement and other health limitations/. I also an a bioengineer and know quite a bit about body mechanics. I am very impressed by John's detailed knowledge of functional anatomy and his very special ability to apply engineering theory to guide a targeted exercise program. When I am with him he is laser focused on me - never distracted and always intense. He is also very likeable. I consider my sessions with John to be the key to managing my aging and particularly to reducing my probability of a fall. I walk more upright and feel and look younger.

Body Engineers is the best gym I've attended. I like the small class sizes (typically under 8 people) which means the trainers are very attentive and are quick to help you improve your form. The gym is also very clean and well-organized. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone.

I had no prior experience with working out apart, from treadmill at the gym in my condo. Body Engineers was a great place to start. My husband and I signed up for the “partner training with Emanuel” and he made sure to tailor the workout programs for both of us (who have vastly different body types) and we’ve seen excellent results. Would highly recommend!

Emmanuel trained me and was the perfect mix of pushing me for more while understanding my individual needs. I was able to meet my goals for weight loss and strength gain while he helped me recover from an ACL tear. He’s the perfect trainer for rehab AND pushing you to the next level.
