Have you never done strength training but want to give it a try with expert instruction and guidance? You should come to Fuel. Are you already a regular gym rat but want to push your fitness even further? You should come to Fuel. Are you looking to be part of a wider community of super fun, encouraging people after 18 months of lockdowns? You should come to Fuel. I have never been to a gym where every body type, every ability level, every gender was welcomed and supported the way it is here. The trainers are amazing, the spaces are incredibly clean and well organized. You will sweat, you will get stronger, you will definitely make some friends. (You might also swear under your breath at the trainers mid session but that just means they’re doing their job)

Fuel Training Club offers intimate group personal training classes to groups of no more than twelve so that everyone can receive high quality training in HIIT, conditioning, and strength training. Located in an old garage so the vibe is appropriately hardcore, they have an impressive array of equipment and all the amenities you could need, including lockers, towel service, and blowdryers/hair straighteners for the ladies. The Fuel Training class we took was taught by Sean Chilton who was super clear, a hawk for correct form, and he pushed us further than we've been pushed in a while. Pricing is some of the highest that we've seen in Toronto though for drop-in, so there is no doubt they encourage memberships.

Classes are awesome, and the instructors are great—they watch for form and will give you feedback to improve. At first, it seemed a bit intimidating with all the regulars who know the drill, but honestly, everyone's just doing their own thing. It's a great work out. Been going on and off for over a year.

I joined Fuel in Dec 2015 as a physically active but socially nervous person. (I had previously had a membership to the Y and never actually managed to workout there because I found it intimidating and overwhelming.) Fuel is the exact opposite, all the trainers and all the members are encouraging, friendly, diverse and enthusiastic. The gym is clean and well maintained , the music is great, the trainers really care and the workouts are always challenging no matter how strong and skilled you think you are. I have stayed committed to Fuel for the past 7 years and am forever indebted to the owner Greg and everyone else for the tremendous and lasting impact they have made in my life.

Before joining Fuel I had taken classes at a number of gyms but never found a "sticking" factor. Since day one I have been blown away by the quality programming and knowledgeable instructors, who are committed to challenging you in a safe and fun environment. And you will be challenged, and you will sweat, occasionally curse, etc. It's all in good fun! I'm way more confident in my abilities since joining Fuel, and I always look forward to workouts and love the community. No matter your body type or ability, you'll find a supportive fit here.

I love working out at Fuel. At the gym and their online classes are both very high quality. The team is compassionate and makes a welcoming environment for all abilities. The other members are also friendly and helpful! The training programs are extremely thoughtful and effective. Greg, the owner, is very professional and his programming is up to date with research and best practices. I especially love the focus on mobility since I sit in a chair for most of my day. Highly recommend this gym for people who want to be fit and hang with great people.

One of the best boutique gym/classes I’ve ever been to. All trainers are fun and experienced and members are super friendly and welcoming. Parking out front is a bonus.

I may not have been to every gym in the city, but this is likely the best gym in the city.

Fuel is simply the best. The programming is top notch and having it on demand online in addition to in person is invaluable. The facilities are great and the trainers rock. They do a great job of keeping everything sanitized and everyone can stay well spaced apart. I highly recommend trying it out regardless of your baseline level if you're looking to improve your fitness.

Fuel has been my gym for the last few years now and the programming is top notch and never stale. I've never incorporated barbell work into my own routine and although it looked hard and daunting at first, Greg and all the awesome trainers have made it 2nd nature now. Love the community feel here. Everyone is so encouraging and non judgmental. If you want to challenge yourself while getting stronger and faster in a safe and fun environment, please give fuel a try. You won't regret it.

Fuel Training Club delivers top-notch workout programs and has a fabulous community too! I appreciate the skilled trainers and the curated workouts that encourage each individual to find their own limits and strive to "be better". I always feel better on the days that start with a Fuel workout!

Best workout in the city. Been going here in and off since 2018 and after only a few weeks back at it I always notice my flexibility, stability, speed and strength increase dramatically. The workouts are thoughtful and instructors really know what they’re doing. Highly recommend

This is my #1 favourite gym of all the places I’ve been to over the years! Fun, patient & knowledgeable coaches. Strong community vibe. I feel stronger and more energetic even when I only find the time to go 1-2x per week.

I remember my first day, 4 years ago at Fuel Training Club. I was nervous walking in, but then after the class, I was hooked for life. Training here has changed my idea of strength and conditioning, and it is where I saw the greatest accomplishments in my overall fitness. The instructors are incredible, and the workouts are always changing, with the purpose of building a strong mind and body. It is a truly welcoming environment where you can tell that community is a priority. I was a trained dancer before coming to fuel, and I had never worked out in a gym like this before. Now I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Be prepared to have fun, push yourself to the limits, and transform into the athlete you never knew you could be!

Simply stated, Fuel is the best. I have been a member at several different boutique gyms in the city, and Fuel is the one I consistently come back to. The trainers are incredible, the facility is top notch, and there are usually cute dogs that hang around. The workouts at Fuel are the right amount of challenging, yet functional. The trainers will push you, but never to the point where your body breaks down. They also have on online presence, so it’s easy to stay consistent and connected as we move in and out of lockdowns. Please check it out, you won’t be disappointed and will likely “be better” after.

Have trained at both the Downtown location and the Roncesvalles location and felt like the quality of instruction was always unparalleled. The classes are hard, but you always feel safe in the movements and level of pace. Also, the owner Greg is one of the kindest humans and always seems to remember everyone's name!

If not already known, it’s the top gym in the city. Great floor space setup and machine quality. Staff is amazing and motivating. Any former athlete or non athlete will love the classes. Workouts change from high interval, strength, to classes focused on form, etc- always exciting entering the gym

Fuel is basically the only group fitness I go to anymore. I've done Barry's Bootcamp, F45, Equinox, Goodlife Group Fitness as well as Orange Theory. My primary interest in working out in a public place is whether or not the approach feels smart and safe. As in.... is what this person is telling me to do going to hurt more than it helps? What I love about Fuel is that they bring the energy and the intensity without encouraging people to throw their bodies around blindly just to get sweaty. The movements are smart, safe and well instructed. The equipment is top notch, the instructors are excellent and the workout variety takes the guesswork out of things for me because I know the training there is well rounded. I care about taking good care of my body, and Fuel feels like a place that really helps me do that. Plus they tell good jokes and the music is on point.

👍 Update 3 - 1 Year & 8 Months later (Sept 2023): Updating back to a 4-star. Leaving previous updates up for context.
