I recently joined Old School Muay Thai, coming out of COVID and having done almost no physical activity for a very long time, and it has been such an amazing experience. I have had no concerns re COVID with both the indoor and outdoor classes. I was also worried that my fitness level would be inadequate and that I would struggle to adapt to the class, but the instructors have been incredibly supportive and always provide alternate approaches for a beginner like me but also are great at challenging the more advanced people. I've tried one other Muay Thai place in the past, but this place has exceeded my expectations so much, the quality of classes, the experience in teaching Muay Thai technique, the authenticity and real community feel are just some of the impressive things. Highly recommend!

The best authentic Muay Thai gym in Toronto with amazing instructors. Everyone is so friendly, helpful, and non-judgemental here. The classes are perfect for all levels from beginners to advanced and there’s so much variety in each class that you’ll never be bored. Once you take one class, you will be coming back for more!

Love this gym! Pure old school Muay Thai as the name implies, train like they train in Thailand! Instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. Whether its your first time wrapping your hands or a seasoned fighter or anything in between, James can help you learn, hone and perfect the art of eight limbs!

I've started attending classes after Stage Two Reopening. During the whole lockdown I'd been doing nothing in terms of sport so I worried if I could handle it. But all my concerns were unreasonable as classes are flexible and suite all fitness levels as instructors would present several options of exercises. And it is such fun, time flies! I am incredibly happy that I've started going there - each week I can feel that I become a bit stronger. Also the atmosphere there is amazing, people are super friendly and there is a feel of community which is so nice

Horrible gym environment for women, unsafe and owner refuses to acknowledge or support when concerns are brought to them. When I tried to cancel the remainder of my membership after incidents, the owner refused. There’s a reason it’s cheaper than other gyms — it’s barely a business. Was at the gym for 2.5 years and left after safety concerns. There are far better options in the city, do not waste your time here.

I am so glad that I joined Old School. The community of people in the gym itself makes it so worth it. The instructors are all incredible, the class lessons are always amazing and they take the time to help people individually as well. As a woman in the gym i’ve always felt safe and welcomed since day 1. Everyday I look forward to going to Old School and seeing my teammates and Krus. Thank you Old School for all you do for us!

I’ve trained in many gyms since I started training Muay Thai 15 years ago so I know it can be tricky to find a good one. When I moved from Madrid to Toronto, I visited almost all the gyms located downtown. I signed up for a 2 week special offer at Old School Muay Thai and by the end of the trial I already knew it was a very unique space. The gym is open every day of the week and offers different training schedules at different times, so no matter if you’re an early bird or rather train during your lunch brake or late at night, you can always get your training done! The people who you will find training at Old School May Thai composes a very mixed group: there are really skilled full trainers and even fighters who compete, intermedium level individuals and beginners. The advanced people really understand that everyone is a beginner at one point so they make sure beginners feel comfortable to learn Muay Thai the right way. That is one of the reasons the gym is so popular and beginners show fast improvement at an early stage. The environment is ideal for development no matter at what stage you are in your Muay Thai journey. The training style is like the way Thai fighters train in Thailand. The sessions are sweaty and intense, mixing cardio, conditioning and technique. The friendly, welcoming and intense atmosphere keeps everyone motivated to try their best and improve fitness. Since I started training at Old School Muay Thai 2 years ago, I have become the best version of myself in terms of fitness and technique, and I’m proud of being part of such a friendly and special community. There’s no gym like Old School Muay Thai in Toronto.

Great Muay Thai gym with strong community ties. I would recommend this gym to people of all levels. I always felt welcomed and accepted, which as most women know can be hard to find at some martial arts gyms.

Love this place! I signed up in October, and the Old School team has been incredibly helpful and accommodating to me as a beginner - plus it’s an awesome workout. Everyone including the Krus and more advanced fighters are always kind, and provide a welcoming environment to train in. Highly recommend this place, especially if you’re a girl and worry about the sport being too male-dominated - there’s lots of us!

Just had my first class and can’t wait to go back! (Provide I take a few days to recover.) Is it hard? Yes. It’s Muay Thai… Is it fun? Heck yes! I was nervous to try something this hard and out of my fitness and comfort level, but James and all of the students were nothing but supportive and welcoming. Recommend for sure!

I love OSMT. I was born and raised in Thailand and OSMT is perfect remedy for homesickness reason being the trainers are very supportive and incredibly passionate about Muay Thai similar to trainers back home. They are true to being “old school”, it really feels like a Muay Thai gym you’d visit in Bangkok. I really recommend going because for whatever reason you want to learn the discipline (weight loss, endurance building, learning Muay Thai) you will be highly satisfied. The trainers will motivate you and you will be motivated to go back whenever you have the chance. Thank you so much OSMT!! Kru James and all the trainers that help me reach my goals.

Amazing gym with amazing instructors that genuinely care. Everyone is friendly and will talk to you and help you out, even staying overtime. Been training here for 6 months and will be here as long as I’m in Toronto.
