It is an extremely bad place to stay. I live in an apartment style configuration. It is terrible because of it's location. My room and all the rooms in our apartment are facing a wall. So if you look out the window there is nothing to look at except for a wall, it feels like you are living in an apartment with NO windows. Furthermore, my room has been giving me insomnia for months because there is a giant fan from the kitchen right outside my window. This means that my room sounds constantly like an airplane. Opening the window is not even possible if you want to talk to some one or listen to music. There are garbage trucks coming 2-3 times in the night and in the early morning. It is extremely loud and I have failed to try to sleep trough any time it came for the past 2 and a half months. The bigest issue is that I've been trying to solve this issue since the 3rd week I moved in. I've filed a work request form, which did nothing. I asked for a room change from my RA who was seemingly very helpful at first but in the end did nothing but send me to the Residence office. In the residence office I asked for a room request change form, and they didn't have one so they told me to send them an email describing the issue and my situation. I did this. I got an email back saying "To submit a room change request, please visit the Housing Office at PIT 100 to pick up the necessary forms." I answered and told them that I already did that and I wrote the email instead as requested by to office which they replied to as "Hi, We have the forms, please come pick it up. ". Really???? Really. Not even a sorry. Not even a "oh okay i see" or anything. Anyway, I'm completely fed up and so done with this bullshit. At the same time they keep forcing you to have 1:1 meetings which don't do anything and is a complete waste of time. Honesty, try to find an apartment. Share it with 2 other people. It will be approximately the same price and it will be soooooo much better than the hole you are given to live in at Pitman Hall. Oh and I didn't even mention the food. You have all the same things every single day.

Lived here during the summer, and recommend it only if you are on a budget. The facilities don't make for the price but the location is very convenient, and service is fantastic. The air conditioning isn't ideal, and the space is quite cramped. It's recommended for students on a budget, and who will end up spending more time away from the dorms rather than otherwise.

Pitman Hall Residence is one of the finest residences of Ryerson University. The location is very feasible and convenient. Easily accessible and the frequency of transport near Pitman is readily availble. Located in the heart of downtown and thus makes it very attractive and fun to live in!

Residence has underground parking. $18 flat rate from 9 till 6. Overnight parking is another $9. Or $4 an hour which is cheaper than street parking and maybe a bit safer. I has my car broken into on this street near Pitman.

Spacious, climate controlled rooms with friendly front desk security 24/7, staffed at night by a security company, and during the day by other students. Mail service, a pay parking garage for visitors, and a fantastic cafeteria on the first floor make this a fantastic first home away from home. The residence advisors strive to make each floor in to a community through fun activities and making food/eating together. Also a short walk from the Eaton Centre, so bring mommy and daddys money!

(Translated by Google) The cleaning ladies sign as they have cleaned it without even passing the mop. The bathtubs are flooded. The mattresses are horrible and the pillows worse. They do not change the sheets once a week and they do not give you to change them, so if they get stained like that they stay. The location is great, like a 10 minute walk from the Dundas metro station (Original) Las seรฑoras de la limpieza firman como que han limpiado sin pasar siquiera la fregona.

I spent three nights there for an event at Kerr Hall gymnasium. The beds and pillows are awful and there is only WiFi in the public areas (ethernet access only in the rooms). The included breakfast was decent, as was the price for accommodations in downtown Toronto. Definitely recommended if you're on a budget!

We moved in today and it was terrible. Our bedding was completely lost because it was moved by the residence people who have no idea where it went. There was only 2 of us and I had to move my car and try to find parking leaving my daughter with her stuff. She went up with one load l, thank God we had our own wagon. But when she tried to come back down to get the other load there were NO elevators coming down. She were on the 8th floor. Had to leave her with no bedding, pillows, sheets blankets. Super annoying experience. And the one residence 'helper' was extremely rude and unhelpful stating we left her things 'too long' when their elevators don't even come back down. Not a good start to the school year.

Iโ€™ve lived and worked in this building for 3 years. The best dorm in my opinion. It gets a bad rap for being old and grunge which it is but it really gives a fun dorm aesthetic. Super convenient location with a nice grass and sitting area out front. Super social building- most students are looking to make friends and thereโ€™s always something going on in the building. Lots of room styles to pick from and more affordable options!

Out of all the TMU residences, ai think pitman is the best. Sure it kind of feels like a prison sometimes. But the rooms are actually some of the biggest ive seen compared to other university dorms. The building is the biggest out of all residences so you make a lot of friends. And all apartment style rooms come with full kitchens compared to the newest building which is small and crammed (DCC). Definitely recomend Pitman for first years.

I live in the apartment style room, it's nice to have a kitchen and a large common area with my own separate bedroom at this low of price point. Food is good too. Only complaint is that at random times they'll decide you aren't allowed guests past 8pm, and even if you are allowed, signing in guests is always a pain.

Also known as shitman hall. Horrible experience there, the police came because a boy was hiding in the toilets and they thought he was a criminal. Dutch people steal food from the fridge and italian girls leave dirty underwear all over the common bathroom. The residence looks like a prision, never go there if you want to sleep properly without having nightmares

This place was terrible. Stayed in residence for one year, got placed next to another building so I got zero sunlight in my entire apartment. There were problems with beetles, mold, and things breaking constantly. The mold was the most concerning part as it was all over our bathroom. Maintenance tries their best but it is an old building and you will likely have trouble with things often. Other students were pretty disrespectful and oftentimes the elevator would have wait times of 10 minutes or more. The food and food staff were great. Security was lacking. There were multiple instances where random people got inside the building, one where it was genuinely terrifying. I would not recommend you stay here for first year. The place itself smelled bad constantly and was dark and dreary. Things were spilled everywhere, garbage was left out, etc etc. I was absolutely miserable for a good part of the year just because of where I lived in the city. I stayed in an apartment-style room with 3 other roommates for reference.
