A really lovely beach and park. There’s a good amount of parking available and places to lock up a bicycle. It’s got a nice vibe on weekdays and gets packed on weekends. There are washrooms, it has a food good food truck and water sport rentals. There are lots of trees for shade and hammocks. There are some picnic tables, but these can sometimes have broken glass and beer bottle caps around them, so wear shoes and take a good look around at the ground first. There is a good long stretch of soft sand. The water is clean and a comfortable temperature. The water has a rocky bottom, and some parts of the beach have more aquatic plants than others, so walk the length before you decide to settle. It’s about waist deep for a fair bit, then neck deep for a nice while. It’s great for swimming or paddling about. Further out there’s lots of people in canoes, sail boats, kite surfing. There are two life guard stations but they may not both be occupied, so it’s worth noting where the lifeguard is during your visit. A road separates the beach from the park area and cycling trail. This park is wonderfully shady and is often filled with families bbqing and setting up tents. The food truck makes great skin-on french fries, and if you prefer your fries extra krispy, just ask! They also make good onion rings.

Sheltered warm water beach looking out on Leslie Spit - sandy pebbly, with benefit of shade from abundant shoreline poplar and willow. Beach gets rammed on weekends and I’m not kidding that if you want a parking spot arrive by 830. Abundant and enforced No Parking will cost you 100 bucks if you think you can take a chance. The TTC 172 bus from Union will get you there too or rent/ take a bike. Getting there is a bit hostile right now thru the dock lands Renos but there’s a dedicated bike lane and ample bike parking. Shaded picnic areas and bbq pits, as well as good access to the lakeshore bike lanes Washroom facilities and a food truck on site, lifeguards also present. Huge venue for paddle boarders, kayakers and windsurfers, interspersed with the occasional assh0le jet skier. Also popular with triathlon trainers as there’s a swimming course 50 metres off shore. Overall a great way to while away a few hours on an urban beach - bring a towel and sunscreen and a cooler of cold beverages! Edit: I should say that if you’re driving and want a parking spot on a warm summer Saturday then aim for no LATER than 8 am . I am not kidding. Edit 2: just a word of warning - there is a reason this beach sometimes gets nicknamed “Scary Beach” - usually after the Friday/ Saturday all night raves and you get in early the next morning ( see parking tip above) you are likely to run into stoned drunk half naked middle aged men stumbling around, possibly urinating freely - you’ll also be a bit astounded at the level of garbage and likely human feces toward the Far East of the beach. Stick to the west area by the dog park and you should be ok - provided some drunk doesn’t also try to drive onto the beach

It’s not enough parking, tickets are$100. It has dog beach and good view of downtown Toronto.

Nice spot for a lazy summer day. It's not that far from downtown although construction on Villiers Island has added a number of traffic lights which makes driving there a bit longer (and more dusty). The beach has two sections: the one to the left of the washrooms has a slimmer sandy beach. The one to the right of the washrooms has a wider sandy beach but part of it is reserved for water activities. There is public parking on both sides. I would caution against parking outside of the designated spots as cars get fined $100. There is a gated dog park/beach which leads to the toronto cruise ship dock.

A dream launch for kayakers looking to explore the area. Plenty of parking (if you arrive early) which is a short carry to the beach. Sheltered waters and just minutes to the East channel. Not sure what the future holds as this harbor front area becomes developed. Take advantage of this beach while you can!

Serene, dark blue waters made for a perfect weekday evening. Still pretty cold out there at the waterfront. The beach was clean and sparsely populated. A gem in this part of downtown Toronto.

Beautiful place to bike, walk or swim. We biked on the trail to the point and back, so many cool things to see and lots of building waste at the end. I ended up finding lots of colorful tiles, rocks and sea glass too. The area is well kept but roads can be a bit bumpy at times. Such a fun time and I will be back next summer.

A beautiful calm park at the end of Cherry Road. It is currently a difficult walk or drive with the amount of construction going on. There is a nice washroom and lots of parking. The dog park was very noisy with a lot of barking dogs. The beach is interesting, being composed of a lot of building debris rather than sand.

The beach is a serene paradise, with golden sands and rhythmic waves that create a soothing melody. It's a perfect escape, offering a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The vibrant colors of the sunset painting the sky above the vast expanse of the ocean add a touch of magic to this coastal haven.

The road get in is a bit rough while most of the area is under construction, but the park is nice quiet in the evening, feeling calm and comfortable.

My favourite lake beach so far in Toronto. Anyone is welcome to BBQ on the other side of the beach. Brought our own grill & tent but did not stay for the night. Went on Mothers day weekend. It was not that crowded but for sure on summer time it will be packed!

Coming from Ottawa where there’s so many nice open water swimming areas near the city, Toronto is a bit of a challenge. I discovered Cherry Beach and realized it is probably the best situation in Toronto. The sailboats and windsurfers are pretty respectful of swimmers and the annoying jet ski bros seem to stay away. Like the other beaches, getting into the water requires feats of strength/balance on those big rocks. Parking is pretty good but I’m sure on nice weekends it’s impossible. I love seeing all the happy 🐕s coming to swim (in their dedicated area).

Pretty chill if you go during the mornings. The beach is beautiful, you can go for rides, kayak or sup. Park is big, and there are a lot of barbecue areas around the beach. Can be super busy during the summer weekends, especially if go after 10 am.

A very nice view of Tommy Thompson Park from the beach. The beach is very rocky so it’s not the greatest for swimming, water shoes would really help. Went mid-September and the water was surprisingly not too cold! Enjoy a brisk swim.

Great place to launch kayak or paddle boards. Parking is free but first come first serve. Recently paved the parking area and is way better now. Don't try parking in the middle or where there isn't designated parking - will ticket you. Swim quality is usually very good here. Lots of OW swimmers practicing and families. Bike path runs along here, bathrooms, life guards usually on duty during regular hours and food truck with snacks / coffee there as well.

The best dog-friendly beach, coupled with a dog park. As a Pawrent, this is always my favourite weekend spot, and my girl loves visiting the beach and making friends

One of my favourite beaches in Toronto ... There is also a off-leash dog park and plenty of clean beach and BBQ areas to picnic and enjoy the outdoors.

Its very cool and overcast not a lot of people here. Very empty and quiet today. Perfect place to get away and cool off. Beautiful clean park Perfect for a picnic on a nice sunny hot day.

I went with my mom and I, it was a very beautiful and awesome experience because we have never came to visit. We were very surprised on how long it took us there by taking an Uber. But it was worth of traveling by car because we got to see the other side where there we’re factories and huge boats. Just one thing is that the water was so cold and I only dipped me feet.

Our absolute favourite place to bring the dog. He bounds about happily and there are plenty of other dogs to play with - but also plenty of space so they can do their own thing too. Beach, water, trees and brush - everything a dog loves about a park. And it’s fenced in so they’re safe.

One of the best natural beaches in Toronto. Ideal for walking, jogging and swimming in summers. The summers are usually crowded with revellers. Barbecue options are available during summers. in winters the snow is not removed so you should visit there with your own safety. You get some amazing views and one of the best sunrise scene in Toronto. It's has got ample parking space. The commute is only available in summers or else you need to walk, cycle or drive to the beach.

Its a like a wonderland for dogs. All well behaved and friendly dogs. My dogs loves this place so much, they usually try to jump out of car window before we even park.

Great spacious leash free dog park but does not seem to have enough parking. Also really bugs me that some people think it’s ok to not pick up after their dog, I noticed a lot more here than Silver Birch Off leash park.

Nice place that tends to get busy during hot summer days and the worst is the beach can be quite dirty and full of unpleasant surprises for little kids. The day we were there water was also full weeds.
