Quaint, well designed and homey feeling cafe, serving great coffee and healthy breakfast and snack foods... But they have really renovated and upgraded their indoor store, and their outdoor patio is luxurious compared to most now! With enough room to meet pandemic guidelines, it is a great way to spend a relaxing part of your day! A definite place to check out! But be warned, it's getting busy these days, but it's still a great place to check out! :)

My favourite coffee shop ever! And trust me I go to a lot of coffee shops. Such a cute interior. Lovely wooden tables and old maps of the birch cliff area on the walls. The coffee is simply splendid and their Lemmon scones are to die for. Amazing lighting when the sun comes in too. Perfect all year round.

Very cute and pretty fancy upscale coffee shop. Tables are quartz and close together but there’s a decent amount of seating so we found a place for two ok. The drip coffee was good and so was a cappuccino. They’ve got a nice outdoor seating area as well which I’m sure it’s nice in the warmer months. We’ll be back to try some of their other menu items…

Pros: Their baked goods are great Cons: The cappuccino wasn't great. Cappuccino's should be steamed but not scalding hot. It was so hot, that I had to take the lid off and let it cool. On the plus side, the barista added the right amount of foam that makes a cappuccino not a latte so I think that's a win considering so many places mess this up. Warming milk keeps the natural sweetness from milk in tact, vs when you scorch it. I've been here before on and off many times and I like the largeness of the new lay out but it is super creepy when you walk in and everyone on staff just stares at you blankly and says nothing.

I have been living in the neighbourhood for 6+ years. This was the first time I tried this cafe. I was floored by the quality and assortment of food. Loved the pumpkin cold foam! A must have! Apple crumble croissant was the best croissant I ever had. It’s a little gem and I hope they get the love and support they deserve.

Great cafe in Scarborough with lots of outdoor space, the inside is cozily decorated, and they have a decent sized menu for the location. I do wish they had at least one or two nut free options for those who are allergic. Otherwise, fantastic little cafe!

I have been looking for a cafe near to my home and luckily found this spot. Their chicken club sandwich couple with americano is amazing. My better half tried their almond croissant and latte - she loved it. Must try!

The Birchcliff is a beautiful cafe that's relatively close to the downtown area but is located in scarborough. It's very beautiful on the inside and is thoroughly decorated. The cappuccino i got was very flavourful and bold. Definitely should give it a try if you're looking for a specialty coffee shop. Could get fairly busy at times with the weekend crowds. And i found that parking is very limited, which is the only downside.

Friendly and good pastries, but I find their lattes strangely weak. It's kind of like they use the same number of shots across sizes. My large latte tasted like steamed milk with a hint of coffee...

Great spot for coffee, a sandwich, treats and even ice cream. First visit was very nice with well prepared coffee and some bites. Looking forward to coming back

I've always driven along Kingston to and from Downtown and seen this place. It was nice to finally see what the summertime lineups outside were worth. Great coffee and a very nice atmosphere. Great spot to keep warm in the winter. Excited to be back for some ice cream in the summer.

The croissants here are crazy delicious! All of them! I’ve tried the apple pie, chocolate almond and regular almond. The best croissants ever! 🥐🥐 Friendly service too :)

SF Vanilla latte was okay, and the butter tarts were expensive for something not so special, but their atmosphere is amazing with tons of setting inside and outside. The music playing was very calming and added to the vibe

First time visiting the coffee shop. Great place, and I ordered their hot chocolate, and they have lactos free milk. Their hot chocolate is not too sweet, which is what I like. The ambiance felt like I was not in the big city. It felt like I was away from home. The place had a Pottery Barn feel. I would come back again. 🤗

Delicious fresh coffee and simple breakfast food options, they also have a lot of unique seasonal offerings. Nice outdoor section as well for people to sit and eat. Friendly and generous staff, helped us make our best choices. Parking might be a bit tricky depending on the time of day you try to swing by

Amazing Staff, always smiling very sweet and accommodating. They can warm your croissants and they make one of the best mocha latte. Love coming to this neighborhood cafe that feels like the heart of community. It’s coean and beautiful 💯🤍

How cute is this cafe!? It has a cute cafe and right next to it, it has an ice cream bar!! I chose the strawberry, chia & basil popsicle and it was sooo refreshing, especially on a very hot day! I also took a look around the cafe and it was the cutest thing. As soon as you enter, they have a little bucket with sourdough baguettes for sale!! They have an extensive menu with coffee and teas, both served hot or cold and some treats that look so goooood! Will definitely be going back to grab coffee and a snack next time!

I really love the ambiance, the cafe is really spacious and welcoming. The coffee is great, the baked goods are a welcome treat I’m really happy that we have our very own third wave coffeehouse in our area. I really love this place

Great atmosphere. Excellent spot to grab a cup of jo and sit in the sun. I very much enjoyed reading my book there today, with some cold brew coffee. I will be returning, when I'm not cutting to try some of their goodies.

I loved the old location so much and its vibe. The new one is different style... its so nice to see how much community draw it has. The only thing is I think it could use more consistency with the quality of the barista's lattes. Every time I go in the last year it is hit and miss whether my almond latte will not taste burnt or watery.

Nice coffee, a very good almond croissant. Staff is friendly. Some days only one staff so there could be a line up. I would definitely keep going , I want to try more pastries and other coffees . It’d definitely a neighborhood joint. It’s very cozy inside . There is patio and outside seating as well . They always have a water bowl outside for your dogs .

Stopped by here after a bike ride. Not only was the pastry (raspberry and peach crumble over a croissant.. Name?) and the cappuccino godly, they had live jazz playing and it totally sent me over the moon. What a mood! I live Dt Toronto but I will be biking back here just to catch a vibe, no doubt! The staff were really nice to boot. Thank you for leaving a lasting first impression Birchcliff!!

First time visiting here with my hubby on Sunday and it's such a lovely spot! Interior & display is so beautiful and modern. Staff is so kind, drinks and food is great! Outdoor patio is awesome. Nothing but good vibes here! Definitely coming back!!

This place is a staple of the neighborhood. Fantastic coffee and tea options (try their tumeric latte or London fog)! Also nice cookies. Very friendly service. I stop by whenever I can.

I was in the area looking for a good coffee shop for an afternoon pick me up and I stumbled across The Birchcliff. I tried their maple syrup vanilla latte which is one of their seasonal drinks in the fall and was really impressed! It’s not too sweet and you are able to taste a hint of maple in it.

I had seen a couple of articles online saying the birchcliff was a great place to get coffee so I tried it. My latte was scalding hot and once I could drink it, it really didn’t taste like much of anything. I also ordered a feta wrap which wasn’t great either and I didn’t finish anything that I ordered. The overall vibe there is weird, though the decor is nice. It was awkward for a coffee shop, where staff are normally super friendly or at least somewhat inviting. I wouldn’t go back

Very popular cafe and brunch restaurant. Some comfy sofas to lounge in inside, or you can sit outside on their large patio. Seems like it can get very busy, but staff prepares all items with care and very pleasant service

Favourite café in Scarborough for the atmosphere and pastries! Also love their location now with the patio and park nextdoor. I don't love their coffee, though. But, I'm not a coffee connoisseur, so I say try it for yourself.

Staff is super friendly and their ice cream is amazing! They get their ice cream from Shaw's and change flavours regularly. Funky monkey is by far my favourite! Very reasonably priced and the icecream bar opens late in the summer months starting late May/early June (check with their social media to confirm). Great patio to sit and enjoy too. Pet friendly.

Always a fan of coffee shops that are serious about what they do and aim to offer a neighbourhood a much higher standard of service and product than it has previously had. This place stands out in an area that is predominantly populated by dive bars and sketchy food places. It’s fresh, clean, and clearly cares a lot and has high standards. It's no wonder they're always full! Pretty good coffee, although I've never really been impressed with the food. Still, 5 stars for trying to up the standard of the usual offerings in the neighbourhood! And the staff is always friendly!! A breath of fresh air.

Great place for a local meet-up or just to chill and enjoy a coffee, espresso or what ever your choice is. During my visit we were still in a bit of lock-down/limited capacity so we sat outside. Friendly staff, a great Americano and delicious croissant. If you wondering why I gave it 5 stars, it's because it is exactly what it tries to be. A local coffee bar, with a good atmosphere, comfy seating, a sunny patio, with a good selection of eats. It's always been clean during my visits and has a welcoming modern design without being pretentious. Keep up the great work and I hope to visit again soon.

Other items on the menu looked good but if you come here, don't order the breakfast burrito. I tried it and unfortunately it wasn't how I expected. It could have been better instead of just eggs cheese and ham that tasted like just mediocre and wasn't that great.
