This is a great place but soorely lacking a two man band. Possibly a show from Nirvanna the Band could be the way to get that five star rating 🤷‍♂️

We were in the area on a Wednesday night, and it seems like almost nothing is open past 22:00. Luckily, Rivoli was open until 23:00. We weren’t really expecting much; the assumption was that it was just some place that caters to drunk people at night. That was far from the case! Service was fantastic! They had us seated, got our food, and bill quickly. They were attentive and friendly as well! The food is another high point. We got the Braised Beef Poutine, The Cesar Salad (w/Chicken), and the Signature House Greens (w/ Steak). For ‘appetizers’, the portion size for all 3 items was generous and appreciated! I’ll start with the Cesar, as it was my friend’s choice. She said it was good, and I agree that the chicken, lettuce, and dressing were good. I thought the croutons were a little too hard, but that might be normal (I don’t eat croutons very often). The House Greens with Steak: I can’t believe the steak was just a side item. It was a nice cut of meat! Well seasoned, and cooked perfectly! Delicious! The salad itself was wonderful as well. I’m normally not a fan of sweet ingredients with my steak, but the delicate balance achieved here was flawless. The salad had greens, but it also had walnuts, raisins, amongst other things. It was such a nice addition to the steak! Finally, the Braised Beef Poutine; WOW! It was INCREDIBLE! I kept commenting on how difficult it must be for the chef who has to pull that braised meat afters its slow cook without eating it. It smelled and tasted so good! The rest of the poutine was also fantastic; generous portions of curds, a nice gravy, and well cooked fries. Overall, I would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area! They have several braised beef dishes. They’re a must; their braised beef is amazing!

Ah memories. From a Toronto long gone. Good to feel the old Queen Street vibe. (I know, Queen just kept moving west) Comedy in it's pure form. Live. General admission so come early if a seat is what you want. laughs were good. Bruce was Bruce. And that's good. Like seeing an old friend. Recently rewatched all KITH and saw the brilliance live. Brian Connelly, Seán Cullen, Laura Cilevitz, and Mark Little were great support. Comedy is the hardest live performance art. We should support it at every turn. The Rivoli needs to be supported. We need live venues in a human size. Where we can see art before our eyes. This is a great place. Put it on your list. It never left mine but it was good to see it again, old friend.

Great location to grab a bite to eat if you're in the area. The menu offered lots of tempting treats but I just had to try the Salted Carmel Lobster Grilled Cheese. They nailed the savory, yet slightly sweet upgrade to this classic sandwich. Service was fast and friendly without being rushed. Definitely recommend!

What a fun and intimate event space! Space was busy but not packed for a sold out show. Floors are wooden and hard (or so my crippled back told me the next day) so wear your springy dancing shoes. Tables and seating, if available, are limited. Drinks were boozy and music was fun at this private event.

Good price for pool table in downtown ( $20 first hour, then .32 cent per minute). Good enough tap beer options. We didn't have any food so no comments there.

It has beer and it has pool. Downtown. Anyone reviewing this place lower is simply wrong. It has pool, on queen. On this side of town? It's gold.

I'm from Saskatoon and this was my first time at the Rivoli. We came here specifically to eat before a show at the Shoe and we were not disappointed. Service was attentive, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely.

Restaurant with some fantastic food. Pool hall upstairs for hanging out with friends, family. Concert venue; celebration for any important dates, parties. More fun inside this iconic place.

Great staff very polite. Good pool table area. Nice but limited drinks, the bartender was lovely and nice. Coat service for $2. And nice spacious area in the back for dance parties.

Recently purchased by new management. Went there on Friday and had a great time. Staff and management were courteous, attentive and well organized. Was very happy to be out and about again in a fun friendly environment like the Riv. Lots of great old memories

Ridiculous prices!! Almost disrespectful. $20 for a cocktail that you changed the name of slightly to make it toronto themed? How about respect the customers who have been supporting your business for years!

Surprisingly awesome place for brunch. $5 mimosas and Caesars are off to a great start. Food was bang on delicious-had the blue cheese BLT with scrumptious rosemary shoestring fries. Patio is set up for proper people watching on a lazy weekend afternoon. Love love this place!

-Wings 4/5, pretty good! but expensive for wings -wookie balls 3/5, interesting fluffy texture with sauce! Came out cold (microwaved perhaps?) -fish and chips 1/5, unseasoned and mushy. Kind of tastes like spoiled cantaloupe, maybe it was expired? -braised meat sandwich with dip 2/5, bread is cold mushy and soft, meat is unseasoned, sauce was ice cold Aside from that, the fries are pretty good. I don't think I would be able to recommend this restaurant. This place is honestly kind of hilarious

Had dinner and a watched a show here. Great little venue. The service was good, the menu is limited and there was a long wait for our meal. It's a nice environment but a bit dark for dinner. The show was great the back room had a good bar and great sound.

This is the review just for the dining room : Visited for the first time as my friend recommended because we thought they had live music, the dining room had absolutely no character and so freaking COLD . They had 2 heaters, which none of them were working and we had to keep our jackets on and eat dinner. Apparently they were doing some maintenance which caused the heater not to work, this is what we had told by our waitress who was actually nice. The place was totally dead for Saturday night on Queen st. We decided to stay and have dinner as we were starving. I ordered the pad Thai which was good . I hope they do something with the space as it looks outdated .

    1. No phone number 2. They’re a part of Summerlicious, but it was not available on Sunday 3. The food was barely passable. I can easily something better at home for a fraction of the cost. I would not recommend this place at all.

I had a blast here for a birthday. Played rounds of pool and the bar was quick to get drinks out. Will be back again because the pool rate is worth it!

We visited here for JFL. Arrived a bit earlier than check in so we decided to grab a rum punch at the bar. Bartender was great. The Rivoli on Queen. What a fantastic menu and even better food. From the jalapeno poppers to the spring rolls to the beef brisket sandwich. Oh and did I forget to mention? The salted caramel lobster grilled cheese!! This place knows how to do fusion right! Damn. Oh, and we also had this incredible carrot cake for dessert. With pineapple, coconut and infused with bourbon. I'd also like to shout out our hostess Monique who was amazing! Highly recommended

Pretty nice upstairs pool hall with lots of pool tables (around 10 I would guess.) Service was fine, staff was nice but the men's washroom was horrible. Definitely needs a cleaning and probably a renovation. Other than that, for pool, it was nice.

This place is run by new management now and that’s very clear. Menu is way worse, dining room staff are all sitting around, back room not open. I even heard some of the male staff bad mouthing the owner! It has to be a rough go if they don’t mind speaking that way around customers. Miss the old days, won’t be returning!

Highlights: - Pool place in downtown open till late night - its $20/hr for the game - plenty pool tables - the tables are old & have visible sign of wear & dirt - Beer on tap I went for the pool game with some colleagues and it was a not too crowded on a snowy Thursday night. We got the table easily, and as I mentioned there are plenty of pool tables and have clear signs of age & wear on them, but its manageable. You can buy drinks and take it to your table, most of the tables have sofas & drink holders. Overall Good. Recommended. Enjoy!

Awesome classic venue for all kinds of shows. Food punched above it's class and was delivered with outstanding service. Prompt, well executed drinks from the bar.

Loved the place. It had a lot of pool tables and great drinks. My husband left his ID here and tried to get it back 3A.M . Somebody magically opened the door with a suit on ! He looked like a guardian angel ...

This place is a gem! Fantastic food and pumping tunes (including a juke box!) top-drawer service from all of the staff and it's lots of fun to play pool - of which there are a lot of tables - while socializing with friends. It was the first event I've hosted at Rivoli but it won't be the last! Kudos!

The pool hall is awesome! This has been a late night go-to for our industry crew forever. Was there a little earlier this evening, thanks so much to the tall guy behind the bar for keeping up with us!! Love the staff and the vibe always :)

One of the best places on Queen W to go for chill drinks with a group. We come here pretty often as a work group and it's always good vibes and fun times! The one bartender, Jake, always is on point (not to say the others aren't, Jake just stands out). He always makes us feel special, recognized and welcome (one of the main reasons we keep coming back). I always recommend Rivoli for team meet ups, we've done multiple ones there as walk-in, smaller groups (10-12) and one as a big group (25-30 for a going away). The bigger one, Avi helped us organize and was also super nice and helpful! Thank you, Avi and Jake for being great! Thank you, Rivoli, for having super awesome bartenders and team members!

Asked a tall sever with long hair, if I can have a glasses of water on the upper floor. He was extremely rude and argumentative when I said I didn’t want to drink from the open unsupervised communal pitchers of water! Thankfully someone else was kind enough to serve me but that guy had terrible service skills.

A staple in the city and as awesome as it was when I used to sneak in for late shows with a fake ID in my late teens sometime in the early 90's... Good times!

I have to agree with the previous 5 star reviews. This is a staple of Queen West culture, food, drinks and entertainment!!! I have been going to this place since the 90’s and still holds the great vibes! Just visited for the Anti valentine dinner and Savanna our server was very cool ! Gonna return!!!!

What a lovely venue! I just wish there were automatic door-open buttons for wheelchair users. It would make the place more accessible. My friend is a wheelchair user and needed me to hold the door open and walk him out to leave. Happy to do it, but that’s not the point.

One of the best venues in the city for live music! The intimate setting gives house party vibes. Checking out a show at the Riv is a must!

Came here to play pool and it was a super fun time! The environment was lively, the pool tables were clean and the bartenders were friendly. It’s about $20 per hour, so if you’re with a group, it’s pretty affordable. Come earlier if you want to beat the crowds!

I used to come here a few years ago for the great food. I went today, ordering the classic Pad Thai. It just tasted like ketchup and chilli flakes. Very disappointing. For what it was, extremely expensive. Ordered spring rolls which were clearly taken right from the freezer and popped in the mini oven - was not great. If your looking for good quality and fresh food, I’d look else where. Nice venue and interior.

We had the ceasar salad and chose to add chicken breast. The serving was a great size for a lunch main, and I took some home with me. Overall the new owner is doing quite well!

Great venue, good vibes for a drink or two. Maybe don't play pool there...the tables are awful lol. Other than the pool tables, great place.
