Immersive historic experience with enthusiastic & passionate tour guides. There are multiple tours to choose from. I chose forgotten black history. Be sure to bring cash for your donation as they do not accept debit or credit donations (Jan 7th/2023).

Absolutely loved the tour and the house. The tour guide was really informative and seemed to have a lot of knowledge about the house. Would highly recommend visiting if you like history and are fascinated by people living in the early 1900s.

We were lucky to walk in just as a tour was starting out so we joined up. The guide was not only knowledgeable about the area but also enthusiastic about the family. It made the trip around the house fun. A great piece of local history.

Tucked away in a corner of Clarkson Rd this is an easy spot to miss. A great place to go sit in the shade and read a book. Quiet, with plenty of places to sit in the sun or shade. And unlike many parks there are ACTUAL, COMFORTABLE places to sit. Great place to stop in while on a stroll.

great house , they have preserved a lot of stuff. If you are wondering about the name of the house, it is a city in india that has a lot of cultural significance.

What an interesting historic house! So many wonderful photographs, artefacts, original furniture, personal items such as clothes and jewelry, dishes, children's toys all belonging to the Benares Family and so perfectly preserved to this day! and how interesting the guide told us stories about the past. I highly recommend visiting this historic house with a family, with children, it will be informative for everyone! Thanks a lot for the welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable tour we had a chance to enjoy today.

Amazing place to visit and see some items from 18 century for a high class family were living in this house. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about all details in the house. They answered all of the questions that we asked with a very detailed answers. The place was so organized and clean, it looks that they are taking care of it. In this house four different generations they were grown for Harries family.

We just went for a walk on the grounds, and to listen to the music presentation, sitting on a nice little treed glade facing the patio, a little oasis from the city.

This was a highlight of my trip. The grounds are beautiful and the house was fascinating and filled with all the original families belongings. We were fortunate enough to get a tour guide named Brittania. She was a lot of fun and really gave a personal touch to the tour. It was obvious that the group was happy with her.

The house is absolutely stunning! The tour guides were incredibly kind and had taken photos of me and answered whatever questions I had. The stories of the Harris and Sayers families are quite fascinating and learning about how people lived back then was intriguing. I highly recommend booking a tour here, it free!

Excellent private tour hosted by Sarah. We had the whole house to ourselves for an hour and our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the property and time period. It was very interesting to see and hear how life was.

Very interesting place to visit. The tour guides tell you about the colonization area and the role of English soldiers, and also the interesting story of 3 generations of a family

Another informative tour by Mississauga Museum. Highly recommended for families with school-age children. A great education opportunity learning a bit more about the city we live in. Onsite parking available. Check their website for other events and programs available throughout the year.

This place had a very informative tour. I recommend it - I learned about Dr. Dixie, a doctor that practiced locally and after which was named Dixie Road. One comment: I just wish you could donate actual physical money instead of doing it electronically, post-tour, as seniors are not great with such things and forget about it once you leave the property -- not to mention, they aren't always tech savvy. A good ol' donation box would be a great thing to have for a good ol' historic property.

They tried to present it from a black history stand point. I appreciated the attempt to address this part of history, even though minimal information could be garnered from records.

[just posted photos separately] I'd suggest all to book the tour, it's free (pls donate), and the lady was very good! We were only one family of 4, but she still did a nice tour and explain everything! Now, the important point, this house felt like mildly haunted. I didn't feel anything sold (like I did in the old house in Bronte Creek Provincial Park, which is a proven haunted house). However, several indications were there in this old house as well: a. The old lady portrait, her eyes were too vivid, it felt like she was watching, and she was not happy that someone disturbed the house b. The was given to Ontario to preserve as a museum, no one is living there for the last 50+ years c. Darkness under the house, you can see it, and you can feel it, there's something hiding there d. Basement, cold room, the floor is not finished, and if you look carefully, you will see some prints e. Player Piano, not sure if it plays itself at midnight, didn't stay that long to figure out Anyway, Halloween is here, good to go there and take a look, share if you can find more proofs. BTW, if you have weak heart, and too scared to watch scary movies, think twice before going there! :)

Someone needs to water the grass and plants around the place. Looks like the grass got burned for lack of water.
