I'll admit, we thought about not coming here but decided let's just go. So glad we did. What a very cool museum. You start by seeing items and history from 1812. Then you make your way around and through WWI and WWII and the war in Afghanistan. There are tons of cool guns, weapons and artifacts from each war time era. The gentleman we had walking around was full of so much great information which was an added bonus. After that main museum part, you can walk through the doors and then self tour the military vehicles. The amount of tanks is crazy. From all sorts of eras. Different sizes, colours, etc. Very awesome. Next time, we'll come when they have a live event. 5/5.

What an absolutely awesome museum, really something special, wasn’t expecting it to be this cool. Great place to take the family photos especially if you have kids, they love all the vehicles and tanks. It’s got an incredible collection, the atmosphere is wonderful, the staff were very friendly. It’s very educational and historical. I really enjoyed my time here and I would definitely recommend checking out this museum.

A great museum mainly consisting of tanks and some other military-related stuff. Admission is relatively cheap and there is a great collection of different tanks to be seen up close. Tank rides are available for a price on most Saturdays, I recommend checking out their website for specific tanks and dates.

This is a true gem in a city (Oshawa) that normally gets a bad rap. This museum has an extensive display of military vehicles, weapons, uniforms, medals and more. Where this facility truly stands out, is on its "Tank Days" which occur roughly once a month. During these events, you will observe both static and moving displays of the mightiest military force on the planet from various eras. This huge collection of functioning armoured power put on amazing displays and mock battles that will loosen your fillings as these behemoths rumble by! The over 100 volunteers that work to put on these Tank Days are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about military history and are happy to share their knowledge and experiences (many are Canadian Forces veterans!) ... This is the best $20 you will ever spend.

The museum is on the small side but it has everything! A history of the regiment with uniforms and different guns used at different times even nurse’s uniforms and what their different jobs were during WW1-2 everything was featured there. It has tanks galore from 1 world war to today and even some other equipment that is used at the battlefield. We felt very lucky that our guide ( you can ask for the guides and they were at no additional cost) was the curator of the museum. He was so knowledgeable that even that we went there for our kids we ended up having questions for him. The place had some crew from a πŸŽ₯ movie that were filming. We would be going back again since my boys fell in love with those tanks. Update: Soooo we went again and saw a real tank battle outside museum.Did you know that the movie β€œFuri” with Brad Pitt had some of the tanks from this museum ??

We went to see the Saturday Tank Blitzkrieg and it was a blast (literary)!!!! The Ontario Regimental Museum has the largest collection of operational military vehicles in Canada and they really know how to put a show. They finished the day with a tank battle re-enactment, it was a lot of fun and for military buff like myself, it was awesome.

We went during one of the event Saturdays, and couldn't have asked for a more action packed day! My 9 year old and I spent the morning checking out the intricately restored (working) tanks, trucks and artifacts in the museum, took a ride in a tank and finished off the afternoon watching a live demonstration of how tanks maneuver in battle.

ORM is amazing. We have been to many of the Tank Saturdays and would recommend attending to everyone! It is a fantastic way to support local veterans and learn the history of these incredible vehicles. Plus the support they provide to Cadets, Scouts and Guides is unmatched.

First time experience of visiting an army museum. Was great for knowledge as fun clicking few pics. There are Veterans & other Volunteers who gave knowledge and shared there experiences....was simply great and talking to them was inspiring. Situated near Oshawa Airport. They have a gaming section too, so it's more interesting for kids too get involved apart from seeing tanks, soldiers n there dresses , medals, guns, etc. You have to pay small amount as an entry fees but it's worth as it helps to run it for people.

Nice little museum with lots of well maintained military vehicles. Run by enthusiastic volunteers. Most vehicles are operational. Volunteer guides gave me a great introduction of tanks, half-tracks and their restoration process. They have weekend live events where you get the chance to ride in tanks.

Great place to learn history and see it in action. I highly recommend attending one of their Tank Saturday events, or their yearly Aquino Tank Weekend. A lot of effort and passion goes towards preserving, maintaining, and restoring the tanks and vehicles.

The museum is an excellent educational tool for children and families to learn military history. Bill was a fantastic tour guide. He explained in detail all vehicles and items in the museum. Highly recommend for everyone. There is an indoor museum and outdoor museum. There is a deep richness in the knowledge shared here of the sacrifice many men and women made in combat to protect Democracy. May God bless the staff who volunteer here.

Just attended the Aquino weekend and it was a great experience. The live shows are amazing and the museum itself is worth a visit as well for sure. There is a restaurant on site and they even have a kids zone and enough seats for everyone to enjoy the show. You can even book a tank ride. Highly recommend.

Visited on the weekend with some friends and was extremely impressed with this place. From the front desk to the guys on the floor the staff/volunteers were great. The exhibit before you enter the floor was short but good and of course the main event of the tanks and other vehicles was amazing. My only regret is that I had known about this place so long before going. I am also thinking about going again in the summer to see a live demo of the tanks.

Great place to bring your kids. I recommend checking their monthly schedule before purchasing tickets, as they have a once a month Saturday where they bring out tanks and operate on the field.

Highly recommended for the history buffs in the family. I've attended two of their monthly Saturday shows where they bring out fully running tanks and vehicles from their collection and run them through a curated parade and culminate with a mock battle with blank rounds being fired. Afterward you can see the tanks up close and talk to the volunteer crews, some of whom are directly involved with restoring their vehicle. For an extra $50 you can also get a ride in an APC. Well worth the time to drive to Oshawa.

I have visited the large tank museum in Bovington, UK, without even realizing that there is this impressive collection 10 min away from my home. This is an absolute must visit if you play World of Tanks. YES, they occasionally have live events when you can see tanks roll.

Absolutely loved this museum, you can get really close to the tanks! The only negative thing I can think of is the fact that there's so many tanks in a relatively small hangar that they re a bit cramped up....so you can't freely move around some of them.

This museum is really amazing! Great place for older kids and adults. I never saw so many different tanks in one place. I highly recommend it.

Museum is small but they have a lot of knowledgeable staffs and the best part is that if your military, veteran or cadet get free admission to the museum with a ID. We are lucky enough to get to see the last tank show with the Exeter Navy Cadets. The museum is open all year around but the Saturday tank show is done for the season. Can’t wait for the next tank show next year. I know nothing about tank and we were introduced to each tank that was in the tank show from where it’s made to when it was used. The most fun and must see is the tanks battle royale.

A must visit and not popular as no one properly advertise it. Or idk if there any other places like this but better. They have somany tanks and vehicles but very less place. We will feel that they are short of funding and support. Huge tanks that works Visit on tank Saturdays, especially june.

Great to learn the history behind our armed forces. There are a lot of uniforms and gear on display. The best part though, are the tanks and other vehicles. Admission is very very reasonable.

We went to Aquino weekend. Great place for a family outing. We learned so much and had a quite enjoyable weekend. The staff & volunteers are to be commended for their hard work in putting together this wonderful experience. The re-enactments, the museum, the recreation of wartime encampments, and of course the tanks and military vehicles - it was all very well done.

Hidden gem of museum containing a sizable collection of working military vehicles, that are operated. Great for a visit as part learning about the history that helped develop Canadian identity. Also great for the car or vehicle restoration enthusiast. All the vehicles are maintained and operated by volunteers.

Went to the Aquino Tank Weekend, we only got to see the Saturday show. My god everything was amazing, the live re-enactment was hands down the best re-enactment I have ever witnessed in my life. All of the different tanks and vehicles that they had to offer was mind blowing. They had a kids zone which did not offer me any use but when I walked by it and every kid in there was having a blast so it had to of been worth it for them. I plan to try and go to all of there events after the amount of effort and thought that goes into their shows is amazing.

Huge (maybe largest in Canada) collection of Tanks, Armored Vehicles (all of them are operational!!!) and various military equipment/weaponry. Not as fancy as federal museums, but definitely has more items. Big potential if properly funded. Ticket price are very low too (5$ per person). Worth every penny yiu leave there

Came here in 2022.10.15 for the tank show, not as much collections as I would like. But I do like the host telling the story of each tank. The Soviet T-54 keeps having blue exhaust smoke (Engine worn) so don't stay too close.

We came for Aquino tank days, which were fabulous. My military history-loving husband and sons were enthralled. The tank track was well designed with the bleachers alongside, so we could see everything. The special effects were icing on the cake. The kids loved walking around and seeing all the vehicles up close. They loved the RC tanks. They had fun tossing "potato masher" grenades (again and again). This was totally worth traveling from Calgary to see! As for the museum: it's a tiny museum but I really enjoyed it. Quite a few documents are displayed, which is not something you see in bigger museums. I particularly liked the framed collection of documents from the time one member spent in a POW camp, including the covert and official newspapers. There is a roll of Army tilt paper! And a helmet from a guy who was hit by a sniper and survived.

Went there for my birthday, I saw all the tanks and after the show there was even a really well done mock battle. It was a wonderful experience with the presenters being very knowledgeable and funny, and the vast amount of tanks and their crews performing amazingly. It was a 10/10 and I would highly recommend everyone to visit at least once in their lives.
