Usually
I
book
Hilton
Garden
Inn,
Monte
Carlo
Inn
or
Hampton
Inn,
but
I
have
been
in
other
nearby
hotels
too.
I
live
away
from
the
hotel
location,
so
I
didn't
know
the
status
of
the
hotel
and
I
made
my
booking
through
Expedia
website.
After
the
booking
I
received
an
email
that
appologises
for
the
inconvenience
that
there
might
be
a
noise
early
in
the
morning
as
"some
rooms
were
under
renovation".
That
was
OK
with
me,
because
my
booking
was
for
Saturday
evening
and
I
didn't
expect
workers
to
work
on
Sundays.
When
I
arrived
at
the
destination
after
5:30
PM
I
saw
a
building
that
was
looking
like
a
residential
building
under
construction
with
no
signs
that
it
was
a
hotel
and
I
made
a
few
circles
around
wondering
if
I
was
at
the
right
place.
Reading
the
printed
paper
on
the
front
door
I
found
I
am
where
I
should
be
and
upon
entering
the
hotel
I
found
an
old
desk
as
a
temporary
reception,
cardboard
covered
floors,
missing
ceiling
and
walls
and
construction
materials,
elevators
were
dirty
and
everything
was
covered
with
dust.
The
room
was
OK,
inline
with
what
I
would
expect
from
a
3
star
hotel
and
commensurable
with
my
experience
with
the
other
hotels
mentioned.
The
amenities
were
not
operational,
but
I
can
understand
that,
with
the
state
of
renovations
that
they
are
doing.
I
had
a
friend
that
came
with
me
to
my
room
and
I
was
ashamed
as
it
looked
as
if
I
had
booked
some
cheap
hotel
and
the
prices
were
inline
with
the
prices
of
the
other
nearby
quality
hotels
in
the
area.
On
Wednesday,
when
I
did
my
booking
I
could
have
booked
hotels
that
offer
way
better
experience
with
the
same
or
better
price.
The
receptionist
offered
to
cancel
the
booking,
but
it
was
too
late,
after
6pm,
for
me
to
look
for
another
hotel
for
the
same
day.
Later
I
had
to
step
out
and
came
late
evening
after
dinner
to
find
that
there
are
no
lights
in
the
parking
lot
so
I
had
to
be
very
careful
to
find
a
parking
spot
and
not
damage
my
car
in
the
construction
materials
splattered
around.
Then
on
the
next
morning
I
wanted
to
speak
with
the
hotel
manager
about
all
these
issues
and
no
manager
was
present,
as
it
was
the
Weekend.
On
Monday
morning
I
made
a
call
to
get
in
contact
with
a
manager
in
the
hotel,
but
no
manager
was
available
on
Monday
too,
for
the
whole
day.
It
seems
that
the
front
desk
service
agent
was
the
only
one
that
was
running
the
hotel
on
Monday.
