I recently experienced the outstanding service here. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They understand the needs of their customers and provide thoughtful amenities like the zippag, a convenient way to protect your phone. It's these small details that make a big difference. The tandem kayak I rented was top-notch! It was in good condition. The equipment provided is well-maintained, which enhanced my overall experience on the water.

It was such a great time spent today. It was our first that we tried Kayaking and they have explained it very well. As inexperienced they suggested for tandome kayaking which is kore stable and 2 person can go at one go. Reservations are required upfront and uou can book online. They are very supportive as we were 20 min late and still they agreed to allow for our time. Changing station are available.

Signed up for one of the guided kayaking tours and while it says no paddling experience required, I would recommend taking lessons before as our instructor did not provide us with instructions before we got out onto the water, which can be quite scary trying to figure out on the water. Our kayak was also not set up properly by the instructor and he had to fix it on the water as well. Overall, the tour itself was okay however we could not hear anything our instructor was saying so it did not feel like a guided tour. The experience was more like self kayaking around the islands which we could have done without the tour. Overall, would return for a rental but not for a tour.

We rent kayak for 2h for 60$ which was kinda reasonable. The View was so good and if it is your first it is really easy to learn how to use paddle. The staff was kinda tired and they didn’t want to talk but there was one guy who really helped us at the end.

I took a group of twelve out in the large canoe for a team-building exercise. We had great service from everyone at Harbourfront Canoe and Kayak Centre - our guide Lauren was amazing and we had a great outing!

The staff here are generally pretty awesome. From the friendly emails to the helpful sign up table, all the way to the crew taking guests over to the canoes on the island or helping kayaks into the water, I have been very impressed with the experience. Canoe was light and manoeuvrable, and we are looking forward to trying the kayaks as well.

I rented a kayak for 2 hours. It is conveniently near Union Station since I took the GO train. A little wavy in the main lake but calmer in the Toronto Islands. Watch out for the power boats in the main lake.

This was such a great experience for my first time on a tandem kayak! For those of you wondering, there is a green parking near the area which I believe is $30 for an all day parking. Ideal if you’re going to grab a bite after. Extremely friendly staff, and the view from the water is amazing!

First time here, I took their beginner kayaking lessons with Cheryl. It was great, informative, fun, a really good way to spend a Saturday. After that, I took their next course up, and also joined on several social paddles until the season ended. I highly recommend all of it, they're really passionate about paddling and know what they're doing here.

We had a great time, warm, friendly and accommodating staff. Larry was our tour guide, he is absolutely funny and knowledgeable. We had an hiccup during the tour and had to ne picked up halfway through the tour, but I loved the experience nonetheless. We were given a refund for our inconvenience afterwards, which I appreciated. I recommend this company they take care of their guests very well. Thank you!

Great experience with all staff. They were all very friendly and cared for everyone’s safety. Recommend taking extra time to get across to the island when the water is busy. Amazing picture opportunities and would definitely go again.

This was a nice way to spend the evening, views were beautiful and the kayak was fun. I did a tandem, and the route behind the leader was actually somewhat of a workout, for beginners that barely knew what they were doing. There are no stops anywhere so make sure you've gone to the bathroom lol. Afterwards there are burgers and veggie burgers BBQ available, but we decided to out for dinner. On our way back from the tour we got a little stuck in terms of turning back onto the dock and one of the guides was blatantly angry/yelling at us, but besides that experience everything else and everyone else was nice.

My go to kayak rental. Great diversity of boats available - singles and tandems with rudders make it accessible to newbies, while the Zephyrs provide more control to advanced kayakers. Can't rave enough about how much I love this place - great staff, great location!

Rented 2 canoes for 2 hrs and had so much fun! Well run business operation. The end-to-end experience was memorable - all staff were super nice and courteous. Once they handed you life jackets, paddles and zip lock bags for phones, the staff drops you off on the island by motorboat. Once you arrive on the island, the staff prepare the canoe for you and help you get on, then confirm pick up time and they actually came as indicated. Will definitely return! 🔔 I find the checking in process to be very unclear in terms of where to go and the staff that you first interact with had feet up on the table (talking about professionalism).

Had a fun day kayaking with my partner from the harbour to The Island (and back). Rented a two person kayak. Crew was quite friendly and helpful! I was a little intimidated by the other boats initially, but people are quite accommodating and respectful on the open water. Tall people problems - it’s quite low and my legs could not reach the rudder paddles. Please sit in the back, no space in the front.

Amazing, independent kayaking experience here. They give you some guidelines and send you on your way to explore Toronto island as you wish. We spent two hours which was enough for me but not enough for my more adventurous boyfriend. Of course, being out there for some time all you can smell and taste is salt. I get motion sickness on the road and on water - I was fine until we started our journey back to the Harbourfront area (about 1.45 hrs in to our time). I would do this again, solo or tandem, and also try the paddle boarding experience available on the island. 🚣🏽‍♂️ You can bring your belongings with you; they give you waterproof bags large enough for jackets, cellphones, backpacks, purses (but why bring all that stuff anyway! #Minimalist). Before sending you out they ask you to do a practice turn: easy stuff. But it’s also ‘easy’ to drift out of range and end up in the no boat zone where the Billy Bishop planes descend to land. Don’t do that, and don’t let the waves put you there either. 🌊 Sessions are only available when the weather allows for safe kayaking/canoeing. There is are gendered pin-protected bathrooms on site behind the “sign-in” kiosk. There is also a helpline you can call if you require assistance while you’re out on the lake. Great experience overall, and really great activity to instil/improve kids teamworking skills.

We took the speedboat rent and it was fun. 100$ for an hour is worth it if you have a group of people. Lovely views and customer service was good as well.

Canoeing on centre island was an amazing experience. The view was beautiful. The staffs were friendly too, will say yes to requests.

Had a great time canoeing and kayaking with friends. Excellent service, would go again. Just note the canoes are on the island and they ferry you over. Kayaks launch frkm the Harbourfront. So, if you have a mixed group like we did, the kayakers have to kayak accross to meet anyone in a canoe, since the canoes have to stay near the islands.

Great way to spend a summer day on the island. Wonderful staff and outstanding value for a full day! They take you out to the island (water is sometimes too choppy or busy) and you can cruise around, dock on a beach easily to have lunch. They’ll either pick you up at a certain time at the drop off point or you can drop off the canoe and take the ferry home. Tip: don’t do this unless you’re comfortable canoeing. Saw a couple of people stressing out the staff when they clearly lied about having previous experience.

Terrible Owners - Only care about themselves. I booked two tandem kayaks with them and had one person drop out. I emailed them multiple days in advanced to explain the situation and asked them if I should change my booking since my group was inexperienced. I said I would do whatever they recommended. They said it was fine and nothing needed to change. However, when I showed up they refused to give a tandem kayak for one person, which is understandable enough in retrospect. They swapped us to a 3 person canoe and said we would get a refund. When arriving back on shore I received a new invoice which was now charging for two canoes and I went to discuss the refund at the shop. The owner and her husband were very aggressive, refused to take any ownership of the matter, and blamed me for everything. I was being calm and accepted that there must've been an error on both of our ends, but they just laughed and continued being full of themselves. They said they would apply a refund to so that I would leave. Experience with the equipment was fine and as expected. The other employees were ok, but did not provide any guidance on procedures. I would not recommend renting from here. It would be a better experience to rent from somewhere else and donate some money to someone who actually needs it.

The club offers many options for enjoyment of the lake with canoe, kayak rentals for groups, duo or singles. Crews working are very friendly and helpful with the costs of rentals online with others local along the waterfront. Absolutely a must do for fantastic summer enjoyment.

6/5! Perfect experience from beginning to end. We were absolute beginners with zero experience and they gave us a quick crash course, answered all our questions and even gave us extra time on the water! We went across the lake to the islands, paddled through several creeks and returned back well within the two hours. I would highly recommend these guys and definitely will be going back. Well worth the $70 for two people (tandem)!

Great day. I had to change my reservation and was responded to promptly, the change was made and my credit card was refunded right away. I have been going to the islands , every year for decades but haven't had the viewpoint of being in the channels. The water was very calm making for a very easy relaxing day to canoe. Highly recommend.

Great! Enjoyed a 2hour paddle out to toronto island and back with some toodling around quiet waterways within the island along the way. Rental not for a complete beginner, even on a pretty quiet day there were constant random swells in the open water. Beginners should take a lesson. If paddling to island stick close to the route on the west side of the harbour, which avoids the ferry traffic, and is a bit smoother.

Love renting from this place. Easy reservations online, friendly staff, good equipment, not too expensive. Boating in the Toronto harbour is stunning. Seeing the city scape is so cool. You can boat in/out of the island. Definitely recommend!
