The Museum is a place which has mix of ART and fun activities for kids. It is not a place with historic things it caters more of a futuristic approach. It has beautiful paintings and art work by various artist which is very eye catching plus it has lots of activities for kids across various floors. If you have a kid then it is worth visiting or you have interest in paintings n art . We used CANOO app so our entry was free otherwise it is chargeable. Do Hop into THE MUESUM and enjoy your time with kid in midst of beautiful paintings 🖼️.

Visited THEMUSEUM for the first time with my family. We bought weekday tickets and went for 6 pm. When we arrived it wasn't very busy. We were greeted by friendly staff who checked us in and explained all the options on the various floors. We went to visit the "EYE POOL" to experience the impossible geometries. It was very unique and our kids had a lot of fun playing with the various shapes. The place was really clean (even the bathroom) and we enjoyed our visit. I recommend people trying the eye pool for sure before it's gone.

My daughter who was 19 months old when we went there the first time. She had a blast playing, touching everything you can there. She really loved the tot spot where they had bubble lamps, things on the wall for her to play with, the Abacus. She also enjoyed the 4th floor which has a floor u can make muisc on it. Her dad, I had fun too watching her play with everything. We got a membership for the Museum for when we want to go back to visit. The staff are very friendly, personal too. I recommend that you bring your child/ children there if.u want a fun family activity that everyone will enjoy together.

The idea of this museum is really cool and the building definitely has some fun/interesting aspects, but the admission price is high and the amount of time spent in the museum is quick. The exhibits aren't always the most exciting, either. I feel like this museum is mainly geared towards younger kids who are mesmerized by practically anything.

I have lived so close to The Museum for over 27 years and had no idea about this local hidden gem. I absolutely loved the UnZipped Exhibit and the ease if the layout to move about the rooms and floors. Excellently located for ease of parking downtown also. I'll be back. JAN

Me and my girlfriend went here as part of a weekend trip trying to find some museums and things to do in the area. This one came up and personally I enjoyed the interactive exhibit and the star wars/climate change ones. But it's primarily focused as an interactive/come with your kids and get them interested in the world sort of museum then one for adults. It was still a good place to wind down and we somehow spent an hour there regardless. So yeah I'd go again if they got different exhibits and such

Really enjoyed our visit. Very kid friendly experience and also kept us adults amused and engaged. We will post a few pics here and trust that your visit will also be an eye opening event. Enjoy. Michael & Marina

Great museum to visit. Lots of exhibits. Went there for a 55 and Better event. Made wearable Light up wrist bands. Was a fun experience in the basement. They are trying to get more people to come so if you show your ID on z Thursday only and can prove your age (55+), you get in free for the day. Thursdays in Jan-Mar they plan to have events from 1:30:3pm, sponsored by Chartwell Retirement Group. See below my Light up Wearable Bracelet

We went to the Unzipped Rolling Stones show and it a truly amazing experience. Exceptional quality of exhibits from world-wide. The clothes, the art, the reconstruct apt of the Stones were breath taking. First class exhibit. Most things at this Museum are excellent!

Really fun and interactive! Was never really a fan of museums but this museum caught be by surprise. The staff here are very friendly as well and made several recommendations on what to do since we were here for the first Time! Exhibitions change from time to time so do look out!

I purchased an annual membership but cannot access the museum - the current exhibit Unzipped is not included in the membership. I purchased the membership in October, the museum was closed for November to set up Unzipped, which was recently extended. I paid for a 1 year membership and will get 6 months of access. I asked for a refund and was told that there are no refunds. They suggested I try their virutal programs (not useful for my toddlers - it's a couple hours of workshops for adults per month) and occasional reduced rates to museums in other cities. We decided to buy Unzipped tickets and arrived at 5:00p.m. We were told that although the museum is advertised and open until 6:00p.m., they will not sell tickets after 5:00 so we could not go in. The staff providing guides and customer service were understanding and polite, they weren't responsible for the bad experience. We enjoyed our two visits in October when there were family exhibits.

Interactive and fun for the kids. I only anticipated a slightly larger experience. It didn't take long to go through the facility. Few of exhibits were not functioning properly on our visit. I would not recommend if your children are over 10-12. Mine were 4 & 8 and my 8 year old liked parts of it. Best interaction part was in basement with soldering gun, sewing machine, little robots etc.

Super disappointed during my recent visit here! I recently moved to Kitchener and have been wanting to check this place out, and thought it would make for a nice date too. Majority of the museum is geared towards children and playtime activities. Might make for a great visit for families with young children, but as two adults (me and my date) with no kids, it was incredibly boring. I felt like I had been robbed of my money based on the step admission cost for what I got in return. Definitely won't be returning here.

The Museum has many interactive displays which my kids enjoyed. Washrooms were clean. Exhibits visited were Human Body Limit, Eye Pool, rotatable pinball puzzle, water play, create own animation, live dino presentation and todspace. Street parking was easy to find. Free coat check area. Many water filling stations throughout.

I had really high hopes for this place. I’ve been to plenty of museums and this one was by far the most disappointing. The reason for two stars is because they had one floor that was “interesting”. Otherwise they should rename the museum to “The Museum for Children”… They had four floors with different exhibits but it was so empty on each floor… you basically walked around and saw a couple paintings then “okay onto the next floor”. Overall it’s a “family” type museum. But even so I think it was a bit of a “ripoff” for what you get… Would not go back myself what so ever…

Cannot understand the hype. Came here a week ago (on a weekend to visit) very quiet but the exhibits itself felt quieter. The museum have got some fantastic protocols in place to protect the visitors and staff. Overall, I feel disappointed because Kitchener deserves a decent museum. Having been in a fortunate enough position to visit museums around the world and in Canada this would be considered in the bottom tier. I hope they can improve to make it a better experience for our community and children.

It's a super fun experience for any age group. Lots of interesting, educational things to see as well as some interactive activities to explore science, physics, and history. They have different themes, sometimes bringing in exhibits from other museums temporarily and camps for kids that are both structured and enjoyable.

Overpriced, not clean. Not very challenging activities. I was quite disappointed. For the price they charge, I expected much more. For children under 6.

I was one of the people that originally built and ran the museum. I was a long term employee. It was one of the best experiences of my life! Always fun and interactive. I can't say enough good things about this place and all the people involved in making it happen and keeping it happening! I will post some interesting photos later. There should be a picture of me with Marc Garneau down there somewhere. All the staff got to have their picture taken with him but I never got my copy.

Summary: Science and STEM exploration centre Most appropriate for families, children ages 0-16 “Mini” Ontario Science Centre Special cultural/community events for adults scheduled monthly Pros: Purchased tickets online very easily Covered parking garage with direct access Accessible entrance, auto doors, elevators Easy to navigate with strollers Appropriate for supervised older infants, toddlers and preschoolers to explore Interactive and hands-on activities Helpful, friendly employees and volunteers Many spots to sit and take breaks with children/babies Nursing/feeding “nook” Cons: (if I must mention any…) No options for food inside, aside from vending machines Gift shop quite overpriced, aside from clearance items Things to note: *Make your own “souvenirs” downstairs in the Maker Space. Hands on crafts, and experience with some special tools/equipment. Staff are amazing with the children and very helpful :) *Vending machine in the eating area overcharged me when using credit tap ($10 for a $2 bar) and did not dispense item *Parking garage ticket scanning machine is unreliable, doesn’t read the QR code properly. Be sure to keep your ticket crisp as a new bill and scan slowly!

We have a membership and go to The Museum 1-2x a month. My kids LOVE to play and explore all the exhibits. I wish I could tell you a favorite area or aspect but they engage with it all. It's set up in a way that is very accessible to kids and extremely engaging. Love that this is so close to home.

In the heart of downtown Kitchener, with ever-changing exhibits, you gotta go if you need to burn an hour or 2 here. Kids loved it.

I visited the museum this month with 3 other adults and a baby, and we ALL enjoyed the experience. The Sonica exhibit was extremely interactive, as was the second floor exhibit. We played music on a walking piano, made our own mini animated film clip, lay on a bed of real nails, navigated a marble through a massive labyrinth, and more. Overall I would say it skews toward younger interests; there is lots to DO/PLAY but not much to read in terms of text panels/back story (compared to the ROM, for example). Admission is fair at $15/adult, and we could easily enjoy 1.5hrs inside. We will be back when baby is older, and/or when they rotate exhibits.

Good place to spend a couple hours with the kids. My boys 6 & 9 loved the lacrosse game in the field and the scavenger hunt in the museum especially. Very inexpensive too, compared to similar places. $23 including tax for myself and kids.

I had the privilege of coming to Doon in the 1990’s with my manager Linda Underhill as we were attending a Living History Conference in the area. The site was just being built up and houses were still being moved onto their foundations, however, Mennonite Brothers and Sisters were occupying one home and welcomed me warmly inside to see quilting being done and small children whispered “ do you want to see where the hobos sleep?” and we snuck up to the attic to find a pallet, plate, and fork waiting for a visitor. Plans for Doon was explained to us as we toured. Big plans for the Park! The day l spent at Doon had been a highlight for me. I love doing first-person interpretation and to see things in such a large scale, I wanted to stay and participate. Doon looks like a fabulous place to spend a day for the entire family.

A good amount of neat exhibits all around. Really enjoyed the interactive aspect and the variety of exhibits. The best was definitely the sonica experience up on the top floor! Unfortunately some exhibits were unavailable or certain areas weren't available so it was a short trip. It took us about 45 minutes to do the whole museum.

Took my daughter here during the week and we had a great little outing. She loved the sensory room for littles as well as the dinosaurs on the upper level! Can’t wait to come back here when she is a little older.

  • 2/5 B K. 2 years ago on Google
Went today to see the dinosaur exhibit. What can I say. They had maybe 6 dinosaurs. Not a lot going on there yet if I were you I would wait until they get settled. My three year old had nothing to do not much to look at and an employee following us around telling people to stop touching things then spraying stuff down with Lysol. I loved this place I think they just need more time to get organized and find a better system and more things to see. Maybe next year I’ll try again

This is a tough place to judge. If you visit with small children up to the age of six, they will find the interactive exhibits, displays, and games to be really fun and engaging (I certainly would have if I was that age). The problem, however, is that THEMUSEUM is really small and you'll find it difficult to take more than an hour. I certainly was underwhelmed and honestly a little bored. Unlike more in-depth children's museums, there isn't anything here that get the entire family interested.

  • 5/5 Brett V. 2 years ago on Google
Went to check out the Unzipped Rolling Stones exhibit, and had a great experience! The exhibit was interesting, informative, and interactive. The Museum did a good job setting up the exhibit to fit into their multi-level building. The exhibit is definitely worth checking out!

You can go through the entire museum in about 1 hour. There's about 4 floors to walk through (elevators and stairs are both available). It's less of a "historical" museum, and more of a "cool things to interact with" museum (e.g., plasma globe and interactive art). We went on a Saturday morning, and it wasn't busy. The staff was friendly. :) It's affordable — especially for kids. For 2 adults, it costs about $39 (after tax and transaction fees). We bought out tickets online. It's primarily catered towards children — not adults. But adults might still find it interesting. As a date spot for an adult couple, I'd give it a 4/5. The place could have been cleaner. Overall, we enjoyed our time here. And appreciate the effort and affordability. 😊

Went for the 2000s nostalgia much music video dance and it was so much fun! We could also go to see the exhibits upstairs, which was soo cool!! There was a beautiful all red room, a “pool noodle forest”, a bed of nails you can lay on, scratch & sniff wallpaper and so much more!! I would definitely recommend checking out their super cool exhibits!

  • 4/5 Kari M. 1 year ago on Google
It was decent. The globe presentation was hard to hear over all the Littles talking over them. They should probably invest in a microphone so everyone who is interested can hear it. We ended up leaving it early just for that reason alone. The balloon room was a hit, my daughter loved it. The water table in the basement, along with the ozobots, was also a hit for my daughter.

If You are in Kitchener, haven't visited this place yet!? I would strongly recommend visit it at least once. It is a Very Beautiful Mix of Art and Science. It's 3rd and 4th floor has many cool stuff. It's for all, from kids to old everyone will find everything to be very interesting and amazing. 3rd Floor has lots of activities like, Eye Loop, Water maze, Infraed Video, One section has film making in frame by frame that is way cool, etc. 4th floor has some amazing stories and slight adventure experience. It's good place to go on Date too. It has lot's of cool stuff to do together. ❤️😇

Great for the kids, infants up to teens. Staff were relaxed, free coat check, you can bring in food. Attached parking garage with indoor access. Lots of bathrooms. (Translated by Google) It's a good playground for kids and there are many kids coming in groups. I plan to visit frequently in the future and recommend a yearly membership. For the price, it wasn't bad. The area has several levels to explore. Main level was very open and I imagine generally has a speaker. I’ve never experienced THEMUSEUM during regular hours, but THEMUSEUM after Dark events are very well organized, varied, and a lot of fun. I recently went to this year’s PickleFest and enjoyed it very much. Good food and a selection of locally brewed beers. Great interactive exhibits. Reasonably priced entertainment and they don’t overcrowd the venue. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 Star review is some of the interactive exhibits weren’t working.

  • 5/5 Chris P. 4 years ago on Google
Cool, open concept facility, lots of interesting things for kids to check out and interact with. Kids from about 4 to 10 should be pretty much into everything, there is a small toddler area and a handful of the interactive things are probably for older kids, or for parents to work on with the kids. I'd recommend going and plan for at least 2hours.

First time, went to the opening of the Alarm exhibit. The venue was good. Interesting choice of exhibits. Some.more interactive fact based exhibits could have had a better impact teaching the general public. Some exhibits to abstract that the message was lost. Just happy our community is trying to communicate the need for change, sustainability and conservation.
