Been going to this restaurant since I was a kid! Such nostalgic Taiwanese flavours at a reasonable price, would recommend to anyone craving light, healthy but flavourful fare. King's has an on-site store offering proprietary vegan products including snacks and frozen veggie meats. The staff are so friendly and accommodating as well. Love their curry fried rice, a classic we order every time. We tried their enoki mushroom balls (the Chinese mahogany sauce was so good!) and their new wellington, which was such a unique dish that we've never had at a vegan restaurant before.

This is my favourite Buddhist restaurant in Toronto!! Absolutely amazing. The food is delicious (Tom Yang Soup is my fave) the staff are super nice. It’s all vegetarian/vegan without onions or garlic. They’re super accommodating, it’s accessible and lovely. There’s even a shop inside where you can buy all sorts of delicious Buddhist food to cook at home! I went here all the time in when I stayed on campus, it’s my go-to restaurant.

This place was highly recommended by avid plant food lovers. Overall this is a very affordable vegan dining option with high value eats. Seating wise, there's a lot of space and usually it's safe to walk in. The menu is extensive with a great variety of options sure to satisfy nearly all diners. We tried so many different dishes - from sushi, fried rice to fried meat substitutes - and everything was good! The larger tables also have a lazy Susan which makes sharing these large portions fun - and the best way to dine here is in a big group. They also have tea specials. The location is also great, being nestled in Kensington Market. I think we had a new server, she was friendly but kept consistently messing up with serving basics throughout the dining experience (#utensils, tea cups and bowls etc. needed for our group) - the restaurant was very quiet that cold day so we were one of the few groups dining. We also ordered some extra dishes but the order never went through to the kitchen properly so we had to leave without it due to time constraints.

I always recommend King’s Cafe to my friends if they go downtown. The waiters are always nice, patient and helpful. The food is so yummy 😋 The atmosphere is relaxed. I just had a chance to visit yesterday. The sour and spicy soup is my favourite😍. I also ordered some other dishes and they were all delicious.

This restaurant was SO GOOD!! Easily top 3 of my favourites in Toronto now. The service was excellent, the steamed buns and spare ribs were to die for. I wish I lived closer, I already can't wait to come back!! So so delicious and affordable

This place is incredible!! It’s a must try for vegetarians/vegans in the city. Everything I’ve tried has been insanely good. These people have meat substitutes down to a SCIENCE. I can’t recommend this place enough! I will say, sometimes the service is a bit slow but they’re always friendly and it is 100000% worth the wait.

We really had a fantastic meal. Large menu. Asian Thai Chinese. Vegetarian but everything can be made vegan. Had the vegan Peking duck for the first time. Outstanding! Very nice polite lady server. Nice atmosphere. Clean. Delicious. Hit the store where a nice lady sold us all kinds of stuffs like vegan snacks and teas and sweets. Definitely a cool place to visit. Near Kingston market. Highly recommended

Staff are friendly, service was good and asked if want to have $2 promotion herbal tea (burdock), which tastes good but not sure extra for refrill i haven't asked. Enoki Mushroom (my favorite dish even in Zens garden) but this is my first time to come King's Café location and i had the combo which has lots of variety (enoki mushroom, salad, sping rolls, chicken nuggets, and purple rice) and dim sum also is good as well. There are round large tables good for family, friends, and occasion gatherings. I will definitely try Vegan Wellington next visit :)

The food was pretty okay. As a vegetarian, the faux meat definitely tasted pretty close, but it's been a while for me. I would recommend it for someone who does not eat meat but wants to get close to the experience. Otherwise, the food isn't really that remarkable.

A good Asian vegan/vegetarian restaurant that serves mainly Chinese food, along with a few other options. Dishes containing dairy and/or eggs are marked, and are easily identifiable for vegan diners. Some of our favourites are the BBQ bun, BBQ spare ribs, Mixed veg “Lo Han Chai”, Rice noodles with soy beef, Enoki mushroom balls, BBQ seitan, Teriyaki burdock, Sao mai, Wellington, and Veggie dumplings with sesame sauce. The BBQ spare ribs is something we always get.

Highly recommend! I've been going here for over 10 years now, even before they renovated many, many years ago. The quality of food has always been amazing and the portions are generous. There is a great variety of amazing vegetarian dishes and they're all very flavourful. Unlike many other new and "trendy" vegetarian restaurants in Toronto, I don't feel price gouged. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere was peaceful. The restaurant was also very clean.

This is one of these Chinese vegan restaurants that make dishes vegan by replacing the fish or meat with a soy or vegetable-protein imitation. If this is something you like, you'll love this place, but it feels a bit old-fashioned. The menu is very large.

Shame to say I didn't have a great time here. The whole place, especially the cuisine, is stuck in the 90s. It's great to have a fully vegetarian / vegan spot, but the crazy large menu means they're really extending themselves and quality drops. The food was okay.. Vegetables cut way too big, undercooked and quite tough. Tofu was bland; the 'General To "Chicken" dish has baby corn from a can in it. Crinkle cut carrots(!?) Rice was $3.00 for a tiny bowl. Stuffy and devoid of air conditioning. Needs a major overhaul. Not worth it.

We are so confused about all the amazing reviews. I had the sushi platter and I threw it out after two pieces. Didn't come with soy sauce. And I had to spit out the seaweed you couldn't even chew it. Tasteless. My husband had a veggie Curry dish that look like horrible stew that was supposed to come with rice. He had three bites and threw it out. Love trying new vegan restaurants but this was a huge mistake

King’s is run by the same people who do Zen Gardens, and I must say the food is quite good, especially for the price point. Their bentos are especially lovely, whether ordering in person or through takeout (I’ve done both many times). One of the biggest selling points for King’s though, is the location. The space is quite nice, with a large window wall that opens on warm days to overlook the happenings of Kensington. A great spot to sit with friends and people watch, especially on a busy day.

Awesome vegetarian food! Great flavors, free oolong tea (with conditions) awesome milk tea! For those around the old town or Kensington Matker, must try! Arisa, who served us, was accommodating and just great!

We have been visiting this place for years, and while living in another country I missed this place quite a bit. We had the pleasure of returning to it today and it was as good as ever. It’s totally vegetarian (with a little shop within if you like any of their faux meats and want to take some home). Today we got the chicken, broccoli and mango in sweet and sour sauce and some curried vermicelli, with shredded soy chicken. Both were excellent. There’s also a small selection of vegetarian sushi and some dim sum small plates should that be more to your liking. I recommend the curry puffs.

The waiters were extremely patient and polite. There are mostly vegan options on the menu. I got the rooibos tea, teriyaki soy and fried green beans. Everything was delicious.

Very nice vegetarians restaurant! My family and I loved their truffle fried rice, Teriyaki burdock strips and dragon whisker rolls (in pics). Each dish absolutely astonished us with their rich flavour and the creativity that’s put into making normal dish vegetarian! Would definitely come again!

Absolutely delicious vegetarian food. If you told me there was no meat being served I would not believe you! The staff was also really welcoming and recommended some dishes to us since it was our first time. Will definitely come back here again.

Truly good food I love that the dead are not allowed in their food for the living 😂

Always great experience with King's, whether dinning in or taking out. Lots of great options on the menu, so whether you want something familiar or to try something new, they have something for you! The servers are very friendly, helpful, and always excited to explain a dish or answer whatever questions you might have.

King's Cafe is my all time favorite vegetarian restaurant. Their menu is diverse and consistently delicious. The servers and chefs are always so friendly and welcoming. I visited recently and the COVID protocols for both indoor and outdoor dining are cautious executed. The best part is that they sell mock meats in their shop. You can take the frozen/dried products home and try your hand at making any of your dine in favorites.

Great vegetarian dim sum with good service. We ordered the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, imitation shrimp dumplings, fried turnip cake and stir-fry eggplant rice noodle. They were all very tasty. We also ordered the black ice tea and a healthy drink made with ginger, carrot and apple.Would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Wasn't so great, unfortunately :-/ We had 3 dishes, two if them were ok minus (kinda flavour less, but not gross), and the third was just bad. We told the waiter and he didn't seem to care, and the best he could do was give us 10% discount on a dish we did not eat. I feel like they could give us our money back or at least replace it.

The food was decent, not amazing. The waiting staff was trying to be helpful but even asking for recommendations did not help with narrowing down what we should order. Staff said the fried rice dishes could serve 3 people but when we got one, it was just enough for one person maybe. Silky tofu was good, food came out quickly but the menus were the issue, the prices were not updated, inaccurate. The music also did not match the vibe of the restaurant.
