I have been a patient at this clinic for years. I absolutely love my doctor and that’s the only reason why I don’t move elsewhere. This clinic functions SO poorly. It’s so difficult to get someone on the phone to book a walk-in or family doctor appointment. Sometimes I have waited on hold for 45 minutes or more! And be careful about the call back option. Sometimes they don’t call you back at all! Once I do get someone on the phone, I’m often told that my doctor is booking appointments 4 to 6 weeks out. Ridiculous! If you just need a prescription or have a simple question, it feels so difficult to get transferred to your doctor’s reception and then the communication is so poor. It seems like this clinic is too busy, under resourced, and poorly managed. It’s a bummer because it has the potential to be great. Wonderful doctors and so convenient to have everything under one roof - if you can access the services you need when you actually need them!

The phone answering service at the Albany Clinic, Toronto is atrocious, and I suggest worse than that of a third world country, much worse. I waited in the queue for one hour before deciding to push 1 for a call back which didn't happen until the after hour staff, whom I found was calling from Vancouver, returned the call. The after hour answering service then advised me to call back as their walk in clinic was open until 8:00 PM. I called again and was shortly reconnected to their after hour answering service.. again. I gave up on further attempts for the day. I attempted calling the Albany Clinic the following day with similar results. I then called the Clinic once again and asked to speak to my family doctor's receptionist and was again placed in her queue with three ahead of me. I waited online for another hour with the queue remaining at three for the duration. I finally gave up on that idea. I called back and asked for the walk in clinic doctor. He finally called me back four hours later, just before quitting time and was able to help. My suggestion, to stay away from the Albany Clinic at all costs as they don't consider themselves essential to your health. The family doctors who work there aren't the problem, but contacting the clinic sure is an issue. Medical service here in Ontario is badly broken and as mentioned, I feel you would expect to receive better service in a third world country than from the Albany Clinic, Toronto.

Been going here for about 20 years now, and this place has really gone downhill. I’ve been trying to refill a prescription, and it’s absolutely impossible to get an appointment with any doctor. My family doctor is usually a 1-2 week wait minimum, the walk-in clinic is an absolute joke, I have tried booking an appointment there the past 5 days at various times throughout the day. They open up all their spots as soon as they open at 8am, so I have tried booking right at they open with no avail. If you even manage to get an appointment have fun either getting a phone call anywhere from 1 hour before or 2-3 hours after your scheduled time. Definitely would not recommend this clinic, it used to be great, but now they have way to many patients and not enough doctors to accommodate.

I had a positive experience here recently. I came for the walk-in clinic and it looks like we picked a good time because I was seen right away. The receptionists were very prompt and professional. They seemed very organized and seemed to be moving very fast. The doctor I saw was also prompt and professional and gave me exactly what I needed right away. I went upstairs and was able to get my blood work done very quickly as well. I was feeling very poorly and didn't have much energy so having everything moving this fast definitely felt like a blessing. I was grateful. I told the doctor that this is probably the fastest I have ever been seen in a walk-in clinic ever. Great job guys! Keep up the good work!

I genuinely don’t understand the point of the receptionist position at this clinic , literally on hold for longer than it takes me to walk to the clinic from my house. Is anyone even working at this place? Don’t even bother calling for an appointment either. Missing a call from them? Good luck getting a hold of ANYBODY here if you try to call back. Ridiculous. Be Better Albany.

I was surprised about the service of this clinic. I got abysmal service every time I tried to contact my family doctor, especially the receptionist, who is the worst service provider in my life. I have never seen such poor service all CANADA.

I looked at a long list of doctors working there and some are listed as not accepting new patients. Then I did reviews on them, selected one, called to make an appointment, being kept on hold for a long time after not being called back just to be told he does not accept new patients. Don't like that incompetent place. I'll try somewhere else.

I used to love the Albany Medical Clinic but it has gone downhill tremendously. The biggest issue is the fact you can't get through to a live person to make an appointment with my family doctor. I have spent weeks trying to get ahold of the contact centre to get an appointment booked. I have waited on hold for over 2 hours, requested MULTIPLE callbacks and still do not have an appointment with my family doctor. It is a real shame because the doctors at Albany are great, but the admin service/ booking process is terrible.

I have been coming here for around 12 years now. I love that the building has so many services in one spot. I have noticed a serious decline lately though. It doesn't seem to matter what time of day I call or how much I try to be effective in communicating with any of the receptionists, they are all incredibly snappy, rude, and down right aggressive now. We need to start paying our health care workers more and hiring more folks, so we can have access to appointments more than once every 6 months and so the receptionists aren't biting your head off when they answer the phone.

I rang about a fractured vertabrae at 12:00pm on July 23rd. The receptionist I got through to was extremely rude. I was looking for a family doctor to help oversee my healing. When I explained my condition - she was cold and short and didn’t ask any of my symptoms or showed any empathy. She said there was nothing she could do and hung up as fast as she could. I was feeling really upset after the call due to the pain and stress I’m in. This clinic is not personal at all - and you’re just a number. I’d go somewhere where the staff have a bit more humanity. 1/5.

The doctor was nice. The staff was awful! Haven’t such unfriendly people....I called on the phone, but no one picked up for an hour so I just walked in there and turned out there is no one. And waiting time was zero minutes! Although on their website it said 45 minutes. Someone showed up late for his appointment and they were really mean to him. Maybe they were having a bad day but we are all having a bad day as well...specially that we are the patients! When you are sick you don’t want to deal with a mean person. I asked questions about how much I will pay and what’s the difference between two kinds of forms, since it was an out of province visit. And they didn’t seem to want to explain anything...they had no patience... However the place looks clean. I saw the doctor right away. Usually when I go to see my family doctor there are nurses to take temperature and blood pressure measurement. That didn’t really happen there. Again only the doctor was nice.

Booked an Appointment for 3.30pm. The email confirmation does not give you details on the procedure of this online appointment. I called the clinic to find out details, surprised that they let me know that there are 10 people ahead of me for my 3,30 pm appointment. I cant believe how hard is it to figure out an online booking platform and to schedule patients accordingly. If there was a 2 -3 person wait its ok. But a 10 person wait is just pure mismanagement and lack of leadership of this organization.

Poor and rude costumer service, i called the walk in and the lady who is picking up the phones is rude and seems like she doesnt even want to do this anymore, i just found out my fiance is pregnant witch i told the lady and need it to go for a first time checkup and the woman at the reception was very rude and didnt want to book the appointment. I would not recomend this clinic due to the poor costumer service and lack of professional receptionist at the walk in clinic.

After a few bad experiences, and no way of contacting the clinic via email to share my concerns/complaints (and not being willing to under 30-90 minutes on the phone) I feel compelled to write a review. My most recent experience; I went into the clinic for a mole removal in my armpit. Not the most pleasant doctor's appointment, but nonetheless I was on the table and expressed nervousness about having a needle in my armpit for freezing where the nurse replied that she 'didn't believe me' because of my having tattoos. And while it's annoying when healthcare professionals are needlessly obtuse about needles into your dermis vs injecting freezing into your armpit/having blood drawn etc-- she went ahead to grab my hand to point out I had tattoos there and then reached over and grabbed my ear to continue her point that I can't be nervous in light of that? It's not the best bedside manner to discount patient fears, and that's one thing-- but to physically touch/grab other parts of my body while I am laying down, shirt-off and waiting for a needle all for the purpose of embarrassing me/discounting me is shocking. Under no circumstance should a healthcare professional be touching parts of someone's body that aren't being treated, especially in such a vulnerable position. I've had my family doctor at Albany leave the practice with no warning, no phone call-- leaving me , completely unaware and without a family physician for a few months until I tried to book an appointment. And, I've had a few abrasive doctors treat me in the walk-in-- notably a doctor who vehemently denied the *very well known* side effects I was experiencing from my IUD and tried to discourage removal, stating the side effects that started shortly after insertion and stopped shortly after removal, were actually my own physiology and psychology. Rude staff is one thing, but after all these experiences I would personally never, ever go to this clinic again under any circumstances.

Today I called the dermatology department to make a follow-up appointment for my daughter. The medical receptionist was very rude to me and I asked her for her name and then she hung up on me. I went to the website to try to figure out how I can make a formal compliant but it is impossible to find out what the process is. I have to be honest I have had terrible experience with the receptionists at the Albany in all areas and as I read the reviews I am not the only one who feels this way. The receptionists play a very vital role and they are the "face" of the clinic. Albany needs to provide some "etiquette" training for their staff. I go there because my experience with the doctors are very good. We have Dr. Haddad and she is great! The walk-in doctors have always been fantastic too!

before pandemic and lock down, it is great no matter in person and phone. Now, really suck, staff behave really rude, phone never goes in. Doctors become really impatient. They really care 15 min one patient rule. If you have more questions or want them to clarify something, they will be rude and hand up your phone. And they only offer a few in person appointments since government forces them to do so, or they won't be paid by the government.

DO NOT Go to this clinic. They're extremely rude at the front desk. The ladies there ignore you and if you ask them a question, they sound irritated with you. I went in to fill some wsib forms after waiting for over 2 hours the doctor filled them and he told me to go upstairs on the 5th floor but once I went up there there were parts of the form that were missing from the doctor. I was told to go back downstairs and that I wouldn't have to wait in line all over again since I had already been waiting all morning practically. Once I got downstairs I went to the ladies once again and I was told to wait. After waiting for 10 minutes I approached her again and she proceeded to not even look at me while telling me there's a line sir. Wait for your question. The line was hours long. This is the absolute worst clinic I have ever been to. Please please do not go here. Go anywhere else but here there is zero manners and respect for patients, the reviews for this clinic speak for themselves. This is absolutely atrocious behavior from the secretaries, I don't even know how they're hired. After trying to explain to her that I was sent from upstairs directly to the front, she kept ignoring me so I said to her. Thank you. This is the last time you'll see me here again and she rudely told me we don't ever want to see you here again either in front of all other patients waiting. Absolutely disgusting behavior. I'm lost for words how they treat patients so poorly if I could give this clinic negative stars. I would give you negative 100. Don't waste your time here. There are many other better clinics in the area.

Edited 1 year later: staff is STILL incompetent. Why was I told to come in on family day, when the nursing station is closed? The service I receive is laughable. Nurses who don’t know what to do with my forms for a simple vaccination. Frequently given the wrong information and having my time and money wasted. This clinic is mismanaged and disorganized. I can’t come here anymore, and I advise you not to if you’re new. Old review (still the same sh!t): Walk-in clinic hours are NOT stable as they “close early based on client volume”. Would have been nice for someone to answer their phone and explain that to me before I commuted all the way there, expecting them to be open during the time that their phone line and webpages state.

I got a call from the clinic for a follow up, with no name, extension or department. 23 minutes and 49 seconds later - having spoken to 4 different people - I was told to come back to the walk in clinic. The last person I spoke to gave me plenty of attitude to say she's doing her job and does not control the call centre or the other 2 departments I spoke to. The doctors might be better but the walk-in and call centres need to be improved.

Bad experience. Receptionist at the walking needs to be changed. The lady at the walk in reception is rude in the phone and doesn't want to help people or guide them to help their needs, why is she doing this job if she doesn't want to do it!???? I'm never going back or calling back to Albany clinic after this experience and I'm also letting all my friends and family know so they also don't go there until some changes are made in the front desk walk in clinic.

I was referred to this clinic to see a specialist. Since covid is happening I was advised to call and have a consultation before going in person. I’ve called during working hours (12pm-3pm ish) but whoever is working there just hangs up immediately. I can hear the call being picked up and slammed back down (like a click). This is also true for a lot of the other reviewers. I will try again but at this point I might just look elsewhere.

Avoid this place like the plague. Ridiculously long wait times when trying to call to ask a question or book a simple appointment. Staff can be very short/rude. More importantly, last time I spoke to this clinic they mentioned Dr. Mohan Sr was still only doing phone calls after lockdowns and covid mandates had ended. When I asked the staff member how a check up works over the phone she responded “it really doesn’t” so instead of retiring and allowing a new doctor to have his shot Dr. Mohan Sr and his staff prefer to provide the minimal amount of service to their patients and shrug their shoulders at their patients health. Can’t wait to find another doctor and never go back to Albany again.

I waited so long only to make an appointment. The receptionist was so unprofessional while talking over the phone, and the doctor was horrible. The doctor's name was Eduardo Jacques. He was so unskilled and impatient. He doesn't want to answer my questions. He even said that he could refuse to check my next visit if he wanted to. I have cancelled my appointment with this doctor for next month. He is not a good doctor, and I don't know how he can still practice with this bad attitude. I will never recommend this doctor to anyone.

Having a family doctor here is fine, but it takes about 30 to 45 minutes to get through to reception to make an appointment, which is about what you wait for a walk-in clinic. You should just go somewhere better until they hire enough staff to answer their incoming calls. The budget cuts hurt the clinic hard, and it's pretty sad. I've been going here for 18 years, and they've got some great staff and doctors, just not enough.

I just needed a few days' worth of a BP med. as I couldn't get any sort of appointment at my usual clinic. The link for booking a phone appointment wasn't working so I called to make an appointment. The person who answered was a bit brusque when I asked her if she could book a 'phone appointment for me and she said no appointments were left. *Then* she said she can book an in-person appointment for me and the site link wasn't working. Why not say that first??? Thankfully after that it was a very easy process. I only had to wait about five minutes and the doctor I saw was very caring. Plus she not only refilled my prescription but gave me three months' worth to save two dispensing fees! This was maybe just the fourth time I've been to the Albany Clinic in years and each time it's been a quick and easy process.

If you’re looking for a family doctor DO NOT GET ONE HERE. firstly, I have to say that my doctor herself is a nice person and a great doctor. I find it absolutely revolting though that it takes about three months for me to EVER be able to book an appointment. I believe that she has taken way too many patients and now she never has time or space to see any of her patients (I happen to be one of her first patients since joining the Albany clinic and I haven’t been able to see her in 2 years because there’s never space available). I have never heard or experienced having to wait so long every single time I called to get an appointment. How in the world is a three month wait ever going to help any problems that I have at the moment. The worst part is because it’s a clinic you have no way of directly contacting your own doctor. No email, no extension number, no phone number., You simply have to call their general phone number which makes it extremely hard to actually get in contact with your own doctor. I had an MRI on my brain and had to wait 4 months to actually talk about the results, obviously it was not urgent or I would’ve assumed I would’ve been contacted earlier but honestly this is ridiculous. I am very upset and frustrated. I don’t know if it’s the doctors fault or the clinic who has decided to give her way too many patients, but it is completely unfair and honestly irresponsible. I am very much now looking for a new doctor

My family doctor at Albany Clinic literally works 3.5 days / week…and she has way too many patients to meet anyone before 1.5 months wait time. To add to this I was lectured for going to a walk-in clinic when I couldn’t access an appointment with her and was struggling with critical allergy issues because apparently she got billed back by the Government for not being available. I went to the walk-in clinic with high blood pressure but the silly doctor won’t even prescribe any medication on preventive basis even after all the tests. Dr. Kevin needs to remember that he’s paid by the taxed dollars and patients aren’t coming to waste their time to listen to his rude speeches!

I have a keloid scar growth on my cartilage piercing that I got referred to Dr. El Sheikh at the plastic surgery department at the Albany Medical clinic. He told me confidently during the virtual appointment that the removal procedure will be covered by OHIP so I went ahead and booked an appointment for a month and a half later. When I showed up at the clinic the day of my appointment, the receptionist told me that it'll be $600 and that she tried to call me to tell me about the charge half and hour before my appointment time but I didn't pick up. And that she didn't leave a voicemail because the doctor didn't tell her my name. This plastic surgery clinic just seems incredibly unorganized and the doctor does not even know what he is talking about. I am giving 2 stars because I have been to the actual walk in clinic for general illness and the staffs there were decent, just please don't go to the plastic surgery department here. Update after a month*** Albany Clinic sent me an invoice in the mail saying I owe them $600 for the procedure I never got, this is how unorganized this clinic is everybody, unless this is a scam they do.

Shame on you Albany Clinic. Had an allergist appt set up for my 5yr old a month ahead. Had a physio appt booked for her at Sick Kids same day. Day before appt, Albany calls to reschedule the time because the doctor has to leave in the afternoon. Reschedule the physio appt for a different day to still make it to Albany. They call the morning of appt to ask we come in in one hour. I tell them it’s impossible because we physically can’t get there fast enough. Show up at the clinic 15 minutes late. Getting a 5 year old dressed, pouring rain, traffic and finding parking there was not easy! The doctor already left!! So you know a month before that we are coming. We make arrangements. Miss a day of school. Take a day off work. Work around your schedule to book another medical appt. and you try to change the appt 2 times in 24 hours and then don’t even wait?! If you had a meeting, how is it that you leave for it when we would have still been there for the allergy test during that time?

I would like to share my experience at your clinic and with one of your employees in particular. Her name is Karla. I visited the clinic with a scary symptoms. I didn't know what was going to happen the suddenly I found myself almost crying. Next the thing I know this angel appeared and I knew everything was going to be fine. She sat down with me and asked me what was wrong? I explained my situation and she told me that everything’s gonna be fine. She did her best to comfort me until I was calm enough to catch my breath. She told me that there are amazing people that are working in the clinic and everyone of them will make sure that I will going to have the best care. I believe she is an angel in disguise. I highly recommend this clinic to everyone. Words are not enough to express how thankful I am to all the staffs. Thank you so much.

I've been coming to this clinic for over a decade. It has gone downhill in the past several years. There is a lack of communication between departments. Reception is terrible. They will transfer your call and nobody will pick up and they just keep you on hold. This is a regular occurance. Wait times for getting through are long. The only convenience is having the ability to do blood work and ultrasounds in the same clinic. If you are a new patient considering this clinic, I would recommend going elsewhere.

I made an appointment through their booking system a week ago. My appointment was supposed to be today at 11:45am. I had been waiting for my phone Dr. appointment until 12pm and still didn’t get any phone call. I then called back to the clinic. The booked agent said that my appointment had been cancel ( the same agent I booked my appointment with) And she told me I was the ONE to call to cancel it 2 days ago. Holy! Who the hell canceled my appointment??? The agent said “YOU DID”. what the hack is that? I was the one who canceled the appointment and I am not even that person ???? And the worse thing is I have to wait until the middle of July, another month or so, to get an appointment instead of today’s?? I really speechless! Holy 🤬 Updated The agent told me the only thing she could do was messaging to my doctor to call me back again but she can not guarantee if my doctor would do so. As the result, my doctor called me back couple hours later. So I put 2 starts back to the review. Still lots of thing the clinic needs to improve their booking system and to provide a better way to contact to doctors efficiently.

Absolutely terrible. How can you say you’re a walk-in clinic if you’re appointment based? I’ve called and tried to make an appointment for my boyfriends work injury, called right at the opened area 8:00am. I was met with an automated service and after waiting 15-20 min on the line I asked to be called back as my spot was held in the cue. It’s 10:09am and still no call back. I sent boyfriend to walk in to see if they will take him and if they say it’s appointment only I will be absolutely livid. Absolutely disappointing service.

Why call it a “Walk-in clinic” when you literally have to book an appointment like you would with your GP? I took my 3 year old because his eye was getting really swollen and the receptionist told me that they’re fully booked for the day and when I I told her that it’s a walk-in her reply was, “Yeah but we’re fully booked.”

Went to walk in clinic 3 times recently with an appointment. First two times was seen promptly. The doctors were caring and took their time assessing my condition. The third time had an appointment but had to wait over an hour and a half to see the doctor. The receptionist were excellent. ( Did not get their names) They informed everyone that they were running behind. (Had a few patients with urgent matters) . Again, when I did see my doctor he was efficient and caring.

The receptionists are very rude and not held accountable, which makes them believe that it is ok. Furthermore, their is one walk-in clinic doctor who just brushes your symptoms off and sends you home to continue to suffer without antibiotics. She told me my infant daughter just had a basic viral infection and sent us home with nothing. However, it turned out my infant daughter had bronchitis. I notice a pattern with her as she has done the same thing to me when I have gone in with severe symptoms and a covid test being negative.

Their online system wouldn't let me book an appointment even though I am a registered patient with one of their family doctors. I tried to call them, waited in the queue for >30 mins only for the person on the other end to immediately hang up after picking up the call. Incredibly distressing experience. I haven't been able to refill my prescription and will now have to interrupt my treatment, risking adverse side-effects. Thank you.

The worst attention ever! The receptionist at the diagnosis services was very rude with us, is unacceptable! Has been the worst place ever, Probably because we aren’t from here, I feel that was a discrimination because we are foreigns... I don’t recommend this place at all!

My family GP is at the Albany Clinic (shout out to Dr. Roy!!!), but I would also like to take a moment to share my experience for the walkin clinic. My husband just had a scary medical event involving his eye. The walk in booked an immediate appointment, via video call, and requested photos, so that he could start off with a course of treatment, and what to look for in case his symptoms worsen. I know sometimes the the staff are busy, but these docs are truly the best in Toronto. I would rather deal with an abrupt receptionist, and the best doctors in the city.

I was looking for a family doctor and got transferred to a line that didn’t work.. The woman transferred my phone call which first hung up on me, then I called back and she had transferred me again to a section where you could put your name down on a list for a family doctor.. I was on hold for about 10 minutes.. and then it sounded like somebody picked up the phone… I could clearly hear somebody on the other line because they didn’t mute the phone… and then the phone clicked and started ringing as if I was calling someone… that just continue to ring out and then hung up on me.. Not really a good first impression for me and probably will not be calling back. I’m giving this a two because there’s a possibility of improvement… I just didn’t get through and I think it’s unprofessional.

This place is terrible. I’m sure if you have a family Dr here your doing only slightly better then a walk in client. As I jo longer have a family Dr I’m stuck trying to get an appointment here and they keep making it harder n harder. Now you have to book in person, nothing over the phone? So far the minimum wait time to call has been 23 minutes. Once I waited on the phone for a half hr, drove there waited in line and talked to the lady at the desk while still on the phone. They weren’t busy, just couldn’t bother answering the phone. Though it doesn’t matter, now you need to go and it’s walk in only no phone appointments and then wait, I only had to wait 4 hrs. A phone appointment I would have been there at my appointment time. This place really doesn’t care. Some of the drs are pretty good, a few rude and couldn’t care. I was scolded for not trying to get or having a family Dr. Like it’s easy to fine one. Then the same Dr would only fill my scrip for one month, they can fill them for three months. Makes for replete visits in an office that’s already crazy busy. I’m going to find somewhere that actually cares. Oh, don’t think it’s better trying to get hold of one day the hearing clinic. They only have one number, so ya, you’ll wait, get transferred then have to wait again. So far to talk to the hearing clinic, 43 minutes waiting. I couldn’t give a half star, so you only get one.

Good doctors. Poorly managed. I have had really good experiences with the doctors here over the past 8 or so years. However, the management of the clinic is really bad. I routinely get reminders of in person appointments when the scheduled appointment is a phone appointment. Twice I have been asked by the doctor to schedule an appointment for six months or a year later and then get told by the receptionist that they can't schedule appointments that far ahead of time and have to try to schedule it in a few months. When my doctor was moving out of the city I got a letter from the clinic telling me there were no available doctors in the clinic that I could switch to. When I mentioned this to my doctor he was visibly irritated with the reception staff and told me to call and ask. I did and was transferred to another doctor with no problem. It's sad that the experience is so tainted by the administration because the actual medical side is good.

Consistently difficult to get an appointment with family doctors, rude & unhelpful reception. They change protocols with no communication and don’t care at all how it effects their patients. I had to panic and find a walk-in near me just to renew a prescription that I’d been waiting a week for, simply because my doctor doesn’t fulfill pharmacy requests - they just ignored the request and didn’t bother to mention that it wouldn’t be possible until I called about the hold up - and then went on vacation.

I personally like my Dr. but getting an appointment is very frustrating. The online portal never works for me and they never address the issue to fix it. My husbands always works but mine is always an issue. Getting a specialist appointment is challenging. They book you then cancel the day prior often and then you have to wait about 6-10 weeks to see them again, regarding something serious. Almost half a year to see them. The ultrasound clinic is just ridiculous on their policies. Not allowing a partner in the room during a pregnancy ultrasound is just taking away from the experience and then not allowing the partner after you’ve had a stillbirth or any pregnancy loss when ultrasounds are now triggering to you, is also just truly showing they have zero empathy or compassion. Also being asked to undress for an ultrasound when it truly isn’t needed is embarrassing and when I refused she was insulted that I would say no, there is no reason for me to be undressed from the waste down. I like my family doctor but it is very unfortunate she works at this very unorganized and unprofessional clinic. I always take my referrals elsewhere when she allows me or I will even demand to be sent elsewhere.

I have been a patient of Albany Clinic for over 40 years. Is anyone answering the phones there anymore? I called on a Sunday and waited over an hour, yet no one answered. Next, I called on a Friday afternoon and the message indicated that I was caller #2. I waited over half an hour, but no answered my call. Also, can management please get rid of the infernal hold music and replace it with something more soothing? Lastly, why has it become impossible to talk to one's doctor's receptionists? The receptionists who answer the phones ask all sorts of nosy questions and won't pass you to your doctor's receptionists. It's all very frustrating and this used to be a great clinic.

I visited the Albany Clinic on July 24, 2023 around 12:10pm and the receptionist (lady with the glasses seated on her chair beside the wall) was so rude and dismissive. She didn’t explain the registration process clearly, which led to confusion and delays. I suggest the clinic invest in customer service training for their receptionists to improve communication and patient satisfaction.

Maybe the doctors are great but the service (or rather, the lack thereof) from the reception team has been really disheartening. My dad has been going to this clinic for over 30 years and was recently in a health crisis. I’ve called this clinic numerous times to get his medication list or any other information that could help the ER care team figure out my dad’s medical history and they never pick up the phone or when they do, I get passed around, put on hold or one time, just hung up on. The crisis care team had to completely start from scratch in building a case for my dad because this clinic didn’t even send over his records when they asked for them. Now that I’m assuming medical decisions for my dad, the clinic is still not picking up the phone or giving me any information. I’d like to think that they’re incredibly busy and not heartless people, but it’s hard to give the benefit of the doubt after dealing with this for almost a year now.

I’ve had pleasant interactions with most of the staff here, including my doctor, who is fantastic. But I recently had a terrible experience with an ultrasound technician who was abrupt, inconsiderate, harsh and simply just rude. Considering she’s dealing with vulnerable people who are potentially anxious and stressed out about their health, I could only see her leaving people feeling worse than when they arrived.

Dr. Haddad is an excellent doctor and I've almost never had to wait in the waiting room long for my appointment. Today my appointment started at the exact time it was scheduled. I also am amazed at how easily I can see my doctor whenever I book an appointment- it's always less than two weeks away and many times it's been less than a week. This is such a difficult time for healthcare workers and I want to thank Albany Clinic for their hard work.

I have been going to this clinic for 40 years, my entire life, and it used to be great, but the quality of it continues to decline over time. I imagine this is partly to do with funding issues, but it also seems poorly run. It's very difficult to get in touch with reception. There is a new "callback" feature that doesn't work properly (today is just one example where I have requested 6 callbacks and multiple problems ensue); the wait times are very long. I can no longer contact my GP's receptionist directly and while I asked to file a complaint about this, no one ever returned my call. My family Dr. for many years was really solid and genuinely cared about his patients. I was grandfathered in to another Dr who is younger but also quite good and has a pleasant demeanour. The quality of healthcare (despite provincial cuts) remains strong. It's convenient that it is a clinic that has many services available and a lab on site. However, I feel strongly it is mismanaged from an administrative perspective, and there seems to be little opportunity to voice concerns around this and/or push for better.

I have been a patient here for 5 years now. I’ve had terrible service over and over and over. from wrongful diagnosis, being prescribed medication that I desperately needed only to find out when I got to the pharmacist that I am allergic to it and it was on my file the entire time. It’s impossible to get a hold of anybody via phone even for the most simple things. When you need to speak to a dr or someone from the dr office via phone I’m not exaggerating it is impossible to speak with anyone. I’ve waited on hold for over 3 hours before. It’s not one instance it’s consistent bad service over and over.

Worst clinic I've had experience with. The doctors don't care at all about you or your health. They would easily dismiss you if you're not "visibly" sick. Went in to follow up on reports where the results were clearly concerning, and the doctor gave me "barely" 5 mins of his time. Hardly gave any feedback on the tests or any urgent measures that I should take. The lady at the front desk is always in a really bad mood and dismisses you if you ask follow up questions or ask her to book an appointment. I wish I could say I would never go there again.

You cannot see a doctor 2 years into a pandemic. Its pathetic. All the doctors will definitely see a surge in patients because of the NEGLECT that i and several of my family members are experiencing. Dr.Olsheskis secretaries have to be theeeee worst. Ever. Including the walk in desk minders. I call them that because they are so cold. They shouldnt have human beings working in the health care industry and not be willing to take the extra measures needed when dealing with sick and injured people. Im apalled at the service in this clinic since the start of this B.S

Looked like a good start with the ability to get a virtual appointment. Called at 9am to make an appointment, quick callback at 9:15 for them to confirm some information. Expected call between 11am and 1pm. At 3pm having not received a call we called them. They said they had called us at 11:30 but our call logs did not show a call. No problem, they would call us back in the next hour. At 3:45 they called to say that they would not have time to have a doctor call us today. We explained the urgency of our situation but they could not help. Will call is tomorrow. Completely mismanaged. If it were my business I would find a way to make it right. Unfortunately, this confirms that things have not changed at the Albany clinic. Avoid if possible or if there are other options.

the phone booking system could not be worse. I got calls from the clinic where my doctor is while i was out of country. The person calling left an extension with no reason for the call. Get back, try returning the call, the extension only takes me back to the waiting system where I can happily spend the rest of my life on hold and get nowhere. I'd give this negative stars if I could.

Most inefficient clinic ever. Called this morning, waited on hold for 15 minutes, scheduled and callback, another 15 minutes & was told I couldn't schedule an appointment as I was not the actual patient... this is an urgent matter ~ they couldn't call the patient??? So, I began again, another call, and another callback scheduled... now over 3 hours later and still have had no callback??? If they could call me back, why couldn't they call the patient directly the first time... absolutely disaster of a system...

This place is actually so good. If you value waiting over a month for a phone appointment from your doctor, one of the most impressive features about this clinic, is they just won't call you. They won't tell you the appointment was cancelled. They just won't call you after over a month of waiting for a phone appointment. Such a super cool. Efficient process. Amazing clinic if you value wasting a month waiting for a call to come in that will just never happen.

I would like to share the letter that I wrote to this clinic: To Whom it May Concern. Hello, On August 11th, I received an invoice stating money owed for a missed appointment with Dr. ELLIOTT MCMURCHY. I was looking for a new doctor and Albany being a clinic that I’ve attended, mentioned online that they are accepting new patients. I put in a request and received a call several months later. The receptionist suggested meeting the doctor, by phone, to “see if we are a match” before moving forward with him. We planned for this phone call in August but a date wasn’t scheduled. August 09/08 I missed a call from Albany Clinic and called back immediately. The message that was left did NOT leave an extension number and after 6 attempts to speak to someone, I gave up. Shortly thereafter, an invoice was sent. My hope is that this was an error in processing and the fee that was invoiced to me was done by mistake. How I can be charged for an "appointment" on a date/time I was never informed of feels grossly unethical. I trust your office will provide an adequate response and clear this invoice from my record. Had the receptionist mentioned that a charge would’ve been issued for MISSING A CALL, meeting an unknown doctor, I certainly would not have proceeded in this manner. I am not only disappointed with how difficult it is these days to find a primary care physician but further dismayed that clinics such as yours are taking advantage of clients in this position. Currently going back and forth with Albany and believe me, if this is a way of extorting clients, I will take drastic measures. This is pure nonsense.

I went for an ultrasound in Diagnostic Services, but erred in coming in one day after the actual day of my appoinment. The booking staff managed to get me an appoinment while I was there, avoiding the need to reschedule to a later date. The same staff also alerted the radiologist of a specific issue I was experiencing that could potentially impact the scheduled procedure. The radiologist acknowledged my situation and made an otherwise uncomfortable procedure as bearable as possible by being sufficiently prompt and sympathetic. While there, I noted that all staff were professional in carrying out their duties, as well as being courteous, calm and composed when dealing with patients.

I've been coming here north of 19yrs, back when it was around the corner in the ulta cramped building with a brutally narrow, 1 person only stairwell! Over the years, I've had common ailments and some uncommon, all brilliantly treated by this group. 5 years back, Dr Erin Dalke in Dermatology was the first out of a 2 year search involving at least a half dozen doctors, 3 of them dermatologists, my rare Pyoderma Gangrenosum! And it's been slow, but steady progress ever since! Reception has not been brash with me that I can ever remember, and my GP, hematologist, rheumatologist, cardiologist, and gastroenterologist have all done remarkable work keeping things in check, while we all work through this horrific illness that's taken my ability to walk. My heart goes out to those who had a less than stellar experience with reception, as the rest of the group, nurses included, obviously love their job!

I see that a lot of people complain about the reception phone line at this clinic, but I just had the most helpful and patient conversation with the receptionist. I called to ask for follow up on some tests, and rather than putting me off, she was understanding and sent a message to the doctor to have him check the results for me. It was all very polite and professional. The doctor experience with my virtual visit was similarly impressive. I could not get a virtual visit with my family doctor for 5 days. I managed to book myself into the virtual walk-in at Albany Clinic and received a call from a doctor in just over an hour. He was patient and empathetic, and explained everything to me clearly. He ordered tests which conveniently could all be done on site at the Albany Clinic, which is near my home. Overall a five-star experience. Good walk-in clinics are hard to find!

The wait time slowly creeped up to 1hr as I waited for my name to be called.

My doctor is Dr.Thomas Fung who is an absolutely caring, knowledgeable physician who truly makes me want to keep making progresses with my health! Dr. Ambrose Fung ( his Dad) was my Doctor until he retired - and the legacy of great medical care continues from my many years as his patient! Thank you Albany Clinic - I have always found the staff to be friendly, and diligent in making/changing my appointments!

I've been coming to Albany Medical for over 30 years. On my most recent visit, I waited almost 2 hours to see my family doctor. Also the receptionists the 4th floor just ignore you. 3 receptionists and not one of them acknowledged me for 5 minutes. They selectively pick and pay attention to patients they wqnt to address and tell others them to check themselves in. They are not pleasant and seem rather annoyed when you interrupt them from their screen to ask them a question. They don't even remember your name after just reading your health card. No updates on your appointment status. I mean, even a gentleman came in saying how annoyed he was that he can't call the reception desk of his own family doctor. What a joke. The service has to drastically improve.

😠 I don’t understand where the good reviews are coming from. The staff overbooks and don’t respect the order of the actual booking. I had an appointment for 5, and ended up being called for the examination at around 7:30. The staff was calling people who arrived late first, and did not respect my orig...

👍👍 I technically should give 4.5 but its the season to be giving. As part of the immigration process, a medical evaluation needs to be done. Physicians are " contracted" with IRCC to do an overall health check. This includes blood, urine, weight& anything else plus an x ray ( at another location n...

👍👍 I have nothing but positive things to say about this clinic. I came here for a walk-in appointment and the whole process was extremely smooth. I came and I immediately felt good energy just from looking around since it was very clean and tidy, and I was also greeted warmly by the staff. I went to th...

😠 One of the worst, degrading experiences of my life. Back in Jan 2020 (so prior to the pandemic), I had a severe allergic reaction to hair dye. Both of my eyes were almost completely swollen shut - I had to have a friend accompany me to Centenary Hospital. The doctor must have assessed me for about a...

😐 Dr. Sarah Stevens is great! Very professional and kind. I would highly recommend her to anyone. The staff are all courteous and friendly too. I would have given a 5-star rating except that, after sale service is poor. I requested a copy of the result of eye exam including digital retina imaging...
