I had an appointment with Dr Calvin Lei on Dec 28, 2021. The doctor was very unprofessional and rude. I came in to get a requisition for some bloodwork, that my naturopath recommended me to get done, that should have been ordered by a family doctor. When I explained it to Dr Lei his facial expression changed and he asked why did I see a naturopath. He didn't ask it out of curiosity, his expression showed disgust and disappointment. He sounded judgmental towards a "non-traditional" doctor, though I didn't ask for his opinion, I just came in for a requisition. When I asked about the possibility of the Vitamin D coverage by OHIP (it is covered in case of the vitamin D deficiency) he said it wouldn't be covered for me as he sees no reason. "Since you've already paid for the naturopath anyway, why wouldn't you pay for Vitamin D? What's the problem?" - that's a quote from the doctor that shocked me by his lack of empathy and respect. How can he decided whether it's a problem or not for me to pay extra? Why does he assume I can afford paying for the bloodwork and cannot ask whether it could be covered? If he can't tolerate other "non-traditional" doctors and patients' questions - perhaps, he shouldn't be a doctor. Cherry on top: he forgot to include in the requisition some of the blood tests I needed, even though I gave him a full list. Good thing I double checked the requisition once I left his office - had to come back and ask the nurse to include all the tests I needed. Overall, I had a highly unpleasant experience.

This clinic is the worst clinic that I've been to. Dr. Cassandra Shipp is by far the most greedy and uncaring physician that I've met. She met with me for less than 15 minutes (an industry standard). She refused to book an appointment with me to review these test results, insisting that I should come during her walk in hours. This I can understand – the clinic is busy and she is unable to meet the demands of the clinic. When I was notified that my tests had be received by her office I decided to go to a different clinic to review my results; however her office and the administration refused to send me a copy of my test results unless I payed a fee which I cannot afford. I want to be clear – it is these physicians and clinics that are ruining Ontario's health care system. Physicians and clinic owners who want to line their own pockets with money. I'm so underwhelmed by the service I received. I understand that people don't enjoy their work - but if you don't want to work as a health care professional please find another job. Family physicians are the gate keepers to health in this country - respect that role so that people can get the care they need.

The man at the front is terrible at his job, I do not know what qualifications you need to work here but it seems like it’s none. They can not stay on time with appointments tell you to come back at an exact time and your still sitting there for at least an hour. Like why tell you to come back and then your still waiting. I would avoid at all cost this clinic. Better off getting checkout out under a highway overpass in downtown.

I came recently to Canada where i did not know what to do and where to start as i was taking a prescribed medication in my country (with the reports available). Each time i call a clinic for help they turn me down (We don’t prescribe drugs). Until I called here. They did a Questionnaire for me to confirm my diagnosis, requested a copy of my report, then prescribed the prescription i need. The staff were extremely kind. Highly recommend this place

HORRIBLE waste of time. Speed over care. Doctor's must be paid by the second. Don't expect ANY assistance. Unless Doctor's who don't pay attention and are rushed. Doctors sent to a lab for test that can only be done at a hospital and requires physicians to book advanced appointments for their patients. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME While I sat waiting for a Doctor, I find out she was in the hallway outside my room gabbing with a nurse for 10 minutes about croissants at a local bakery.

I needed a family doctor and went here, absolutely terrible decision. I told them I had put 30 lbs in the last year and had thyroid issues though not bad enough for medication. After my blood work they told me I didn't have any thyroid issues but my iron was low. They told me to take 150IU/day which led to me having issues going to the washroom and no longer being able to even sit comfortably. I decided to switch to another doctor who took a look at the same results, told me I do have a thyroid issue (was surprised that the previous doctor didn't pick up on that) and to not follow the previous doctor's advice regarding the iron as it is way too high of a dosage and that they should have prescribed me a better-grade supplement to avoid the constipation issues. Avoid this place if you can.

Do not come to this clinic. Although the staff are kind, my overall experience was terrible due to the doctor's behavior. I visited the clinic to get my blood test and X-ray done for my back, as I had a history of lumbar disc herniation. I also wanted to check if my kidneys were functioning properly. When it was my turn, the doctor walked in without even greeting me, quickly glanced at my results, and dismissively told me that everything was fine. I was concerned because I had a kidney problem diagnosed in China, and I wanted to ensure there were no issues. Politely, I asked if I could see the reports since he barely spent any time reviewing them, and I wasn't sure if he had seen them at all. Unfortunately, the doctor was incredibly impatient and replied with an impatient tone, saying, 'I already told you that you have no problem.' I still wanted to discuss my back issue and mentioned that I had lumbar disc herniation, which I had previously been diagnosed with in China. Without letting me finish my sentence, the doctor rudely said, 'Then go back to CHINA,' repeating his words word by word, which I found incredibly offensive and disrespectful. "GO BACK TO CHINA" What makes this situation even more frustrating is that the doctor himself is Chinese, and I couldn't understand why he was being so condescending throughout the entire interaction. Even though he knew my English was not fluent enough to describe my issues adequately, he didn't bother to speak Chinese to me. Instead, he watched me struggle with a dictionary to communicate. To my surprise, I later found out that this doctor could speak perfect Chinese, as he is from Hong Kong or Guangdong in China. It's disheartening to see such behavior from a medical professional.

This clinic is the best. The customer service is unmatched, and the professionalism of both the receptionist, Dalia, and the care of Dr. Shipp has completely changed my perspective about medical care in Canada. They are very empathetic, the clinic is very clean, and the wait times are not long. It is simply the best walk-in clinic I’ve been to in Toronto. Great work team!

Do not recommend at all. Showed up at 11:30 am O’clock with 3 negative covid tests and asked to see a doctor and see why else my throat was so sore to the point that I could hardly speak and breath. I was told to try back Monday and that they were closed. When I asked why their hours said otherwise I was asked how they could help me and asked to leave. Luckily the clinic on Wellington and Bay was lovely was in and out in 25 min with a prescription or strep throat.

I’ve been coming here for over fifteen years now and always have a great experience. I’m surprised by the lower reviews. My family doctor is Dr. Kara who is truly a lovely, smart, efficient and straight talking Doctor. Ive always received the best care under his watch. I have also seen numerous other Doctors within the clinic - Dr. Wong and Dr. Shipp are both incredibly smart and lead with compassion. It’s important to remember a few things. 1) people rarely leave a review for medical care with a positive note because it’s their expectation — so obviously people come to complain but for the 50 that do there are 500 who are getting satisfactory care. 2) we have free health care — if values are not being met here - you can pay for private. These Doctors and the reception staff are incredibly kind and diligent.

Such knowledge staff. I recommend booking an appointment to avoid wait times. I came in once for a walk in, took an hour but Dr. Lei was great. Came a second time via appointment with Dr. Cassandra Shipp and wow… I haven’t received primary care like that in years, if not decades. She is so incredibly smart, patient and thorough. Thank you for all your help today Dr. Shipp you are one of a kind.

I came here for a walk-in and was told they are not accepting any patients. Fair enough, maybe they are full... I asked if I can make an appointment for later and was outright rejected at the reception. Yet, this is what they say on their website: "BCML is back to regular hours of operation! We are implementing new practices to consider the impact of COVID-19. We will be taking walk-ins however, wait times are not guaranteed and if necessary, walk-ins will be given an appointment time to come back to see a doctor, as appointments will be given priority." Thank you for wasting my time.

Called early afternoon if it would be an issue to come get my ankle checked out, or if I would need an appt. They said just to show up. Arrive at four to find out they’re closed because the doctor is gone… their hours say they’re open until 8. According to the person at the desk it’s common for the doctor to be gone that early. If this is the case, the hours should be updated, and at the very least communicate that when someone calls.

This place CONSISTENTLY hires some of the brightest doctors in the country. Smart, patient, attentive, and up to date with best practice. And able to explain things so you understand. The supporting nurses and admin staff are always friendly, patient and thorough as well. 10/10

This place is a good example on how medical profession should not be like in Canada. They are exploiting the pandemic situation to scam the system and scam patients. They say they are welcoming walk in patients and new patients who are looking for family physicians. I walked in and asked if I could see a physician for an acute health issue that doesn't warrant emergency care in the hospital. They asked me to pay $45 for a RAPID COVID-19 test even though I told them I have had the test done same day and it was negative with no COVID-19 symptom. They insisted I should pay and do the test before I will be able to see a physician. I walked out.

    - 'dr. calvin lei' seems to have narcissistic self obsessions, interacting with him for under 2 seconds/seeing how he treats any other human around him makes this clear. - Their nurses are atrocious - I've met rude nurses, travelled & met rude medical personnel/it's not culture specific, but these ones take the cake.

The doctors I saw were actually very nice, but I have to leave a bad review due to the front desk. They are rude and unhelpful. The person I spoke to on the phone would not book me an appointment because I didn’t have a family doctor but just the week before I was able to book an appointment? I don’t understand who changes the policy like that without any notice.

I saw Dr Shaffiq Ramji, who did not listen to me and ignored my symptoms and handed me a sample recommendation form for over the counter medication. None of the symptoms on the sample form matches my symptoms!!! He avoided giving me prescribed medication for my intense coughs and infection and advised me I should wait for it to get better by itself!! Considering my coughs are getting worst since 1 week ago and I have been taking over-the-counter medication!!! I do not recommend him at all!

The front desk ppl are extremely not helpful. They are not clear about their requirements and all they do is wasting you time. It takes them 10 min to find out whether the doc is still in the clinic or not. Also, Calvin Lei is such an incompetent person - not sure how he could ever become a doctor in the first place and continue to practice and be hired by this clinic for this long???? This is a reflection of the low quality of this clinic. Absolutely horrible!

I've been going here for years and have had nothing short of great experiences every time. From visiting as a walk-in patient, to having more permanent attention from support staff, doctors, and specialists - most currently Dr. Agrawal and Dr. Lewis - the clinic has been instrumental in my health. With onsite labs and specialists, as well as access to other doctors at the surrounding hospitals - I will continue to look to them for care.

Terrible experience at this clinic - my walk-in doctor was extremely condescending, unprofessional, shaming, and did not care to assist me in any way. I walked away feeling more helpless than when I came in. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name (though I really wish I did for the sake of others), but I haven't been back since.

Doctors are very unprofessional (saw Calvin Lei), don't give any details, advice, or next steps let alone barely speak to you before they rush you out the door after waiting for hours. It was also near impossible to get my results back with lots of miscommunication from the doctor and front desk staff (nobody in the office speaks English???).

I've been to this clinic exactly 2 times in the last 14 years. The first time was a joke. Went in with chills, slight fever (Wasn't the flu. I suspected low grade food poisoning). Was prescribed TAMIFLU and told to give blood work, which I did. Was given a sick note. I vomited later that day and had no desire to look at/or eat food. Stopped taking the pills after one day as I knew I didn't have the flu. Went back a week later and the results were bacteria infection (probably food poisoning). 🤮 Visited recently for a suspected cold virus/possible sinus infection. Needed sick note for work. Was prescribed meds that were completely USELESS given the diagnosis. Useless. Let me repeat that. Useless. $35 out of pocket, even with my drug plan. Front staff and attending nurse were very pleasant.

When I gave my 3.5 year old daughter the covid vaccine, after the first dose I was told that I needed to get the second one in 2 months, I kept calling in the meantime hoping to get an appointment for the 2nd vaccine, every time I called the receptionist gave me different information and didn't know my daughter's exact information, I was told that there would be a 2nd vaccine on the 7th of February but when I called I was told that there wasn't one, the receptionist told me in a lazy voice that it wasn't their problem, and that if I wanted to get the vaccine I should find my own place to get it and call public health, and that it wasn't anything to do with them.

In last a few months I had 2 times phone appointment with Calvin Lei, most unprofessional doctor I've met. I had an abnormal test result and I asked: what should I do next? He said: do whatever you want to do! And he hang up the phone. It was 15 mins appointment he was on the phone with me like 2-3 mins. He doesn’t respect patient and don’t explain well, also he doesn’t have any patience. why the clinic hire this kind of “doctors”?

You would think the clinic that mistakenly cancelled appointments would take urgent initiative to resolve their own mistakes!!!NOT. I made appointments for X-ray and ultrasound around two weeks ago. I rushed from work to find out they are deleted!! I can understand mistakes can happen BUT I don't understand nor appreciate lack of urgency to accommodate! Receptionists never apologized but more interested to see whom to blame. If anything I feel that they tried to delay the process by putting my paper at the end of the pile, even thus they saw how stressed I was, when I expressed I need to rush back to work. Your behaviour and actions were noticed and were unprofessional, hurtful, and disrespectful. The manager apologized and another staff was helpful. But it seems there is no protocol or urgency in actions in such situations, since after 45 min, when everyone before and after me left, I finally got called. Overall, the lack of urgency and compassion was appalling and stressful.

I've been a patient of Doctor Nevin since the 90's. He was a thoughtful doctor who at my request always discussed dietary solutions for non-emergency treatment before hastily writing a prescription. That kept me healthy for decades. The clinic is a great one-stop place for many tests and specialists. Unfortunately, Dr. Nevin just retired and will be missed. I am not sure about continuing as a walk-in just yet, or search for a family doctor.

Although it feels clean and approachable in the physical office, I think I have may had 2 good experiences out of the number I've had?! For the most part they seem forgetful, non-communicative. I had an intro call last year with Dr.Wong solely to talk about becoming a patient as she was accepting. At the end of our minor interview she told me she'd accept me as a patient. Having signed her as my doctor on many forms since, I've now (one year later) been told I don't have a family doctor there because I didn't sign papers, papers that were never provided to me. I've had multiple appointments since that first call and no mention of papers came up. When I informed the receptionist that I had been accepted, she said she'd have to look into it. I finally got a call back and was told she won't be accepting new patients because she'll be leaving on maternity leave again. Obviously this is problematic for a few reasons, but at this point it feels it will be impossible to find any other doctor as the health sector is under such stress. It's truly shocking the level of disorganization and/or miscommunication that has happened here. During the past year, that doctor had continued to see me for which I was thankful until she took 5 months to refer me to a specialist after having had 3 phone appointments - each of which I was told I'd hear from her within 2 weeks with an update on the status. I did not hear from her. On my second call to follow up about the matter, she said she couldn't find anyone... okay, thank you for informing me of that 🙃 I had sent follow-up emails asking about the status and received nothing from the reception or the doctor. It was only on my third attempt at an appointment did I hear about a referral, having sent a firm email claiming it was just irresponsible behaviour. Miraculously, I received a a referral call 2 weeks later and a finally response and reason for the delay from Lockwood. Believe me, I have sympathy for healthcare professionals in this current landscape. Overworked and stressed to the core with lack of help or staff. However, my health is my concern and what I need to advocate for. I have been disappointed with the way Bay College Medical & Lockwood Diagnostic has dealt with me as a walk-in or a patient - who knows at this point. The 2.3 star rating on google should be noted. Like the 5 star review before me suggests, people typically don't come on to review positive experiences and I generally think it's hard to find any good help given the current state of public healthcare. That being said, take one quick google for clinics in Toronto and you're able to find ones rated higher than 2.3 with many more reviews...

I had an appointment at the Cardiac Diagnostic with Elife Colak and due to some mishap was made to wait for an hour. Okay, things can go wrong I understand. But instead of acknowledging the error or taking any responsibility she tries to first blame me and then the receptionists. Throughout the exam she was rude and condescending. Aside from being extremely unprofessional, she is lacking basic manners and human decency.

The best complete physical we have ever had. This is an amazing place to have all your test results within the 1st then on the 2nd & possibly a 3rd day all the required further tests are completed from heart scans, ultrasound, sleep clinic, stress test , ear nose & throat specialist ; Gasterologist , etc. I have referred several of my friends & they could thank me enough. Some were found to have major health issues that they were not even aware of . Lockwood’s early diagnosis saved their life.

I booked a phone appointment for today well in advance. When I called the clinic after an hour of waiting, I was told I'm next in line. It's been more than 2 hours past my appointed time and I am still waiting for the doctor to call. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've had to wait this long for an already booked appointment at this clinic.

I've been here twice for walk-in appointments. Once was for getting an X-ray for TB testing that went okay and I got the test after a virtual appointment. Second time because I had an orthopedic injury in my hand. I also got a virtual appointment where Dr. Lei just listened and without asking to see anything just said "you're probably okay just wear a splint and don't use your hand". 5 months after this advice, no improvement. As expected, I am having an in-person appointment with another Dr.

The doctor is very good but the wait times are horrendous. Up to 2 hours to see the doctor as they take appointments first (which is fine but then give walk-ins the ability to schedule an appointment as well). This system does not work well. I would recommend going elsewhere for a walkin.

I sprained my ankle and got an ultrasound. I received a vauge message saying to make an appointment to go over the results. I called to make an appointment and was told no because I didn't have a primary provider there. They said come in during walk in hours which is usually 90 minutes on a good day. I asked if a doctor could just call me and I haven't heard back. This clinic caters to doctors, not the patients.

Seemed decent enough at the beginning. When I first went there I was assigned a doctor to whom I had to yell at to have anything done and was treating me as if I was a hypochondriac and once I got the MRI I had been requesting for months, he finally saw that there had been something going one. Then I was assigned a doctor that seemed to care, ended up becoming a petite of his and every time I come in with a worrying matter it's always blood work and Pap test and nothing more. I JUST found out that tests I had performed were never sent to him and were lost since 2018!!! And of course they even lost the tests I did in July too. So I wonder if the ultrasound I took in 2017 were ever looked at, since they don't call you if things look good instead of taking further steps, even though things are not right. They do the minimum necessary or wait until things get to the no return point, I injured my wrist and now I have to live with it (can't even hold a cast iron pan without pain anymore), cause instead of referring an Xray and MRI he directly sent me to a physiotherapist just cause I was not crying in pain while moving it, though I told him my pain threshold is pretty high. I have always been very healthy and barely ever in my life needed to see a doctor, but when I need one they would actually do something, here I always feel like I am treated like a faker and am being dismissed. I am currently looking for another clinic, but in Ontario is like looking for a needle in. a hay stack

Do not come here if you have ANY other options. I only did because the other walk-in clinic closest to me was randomly closed and I didn't want to go to emerg - and in hindsight the waiting times at Toronto General's notoriously busy emergency department would've been preferable to having to deal with Dr. Ramji. He's awful, and I don't say that lightly. He kept asking me questions without letting me finish a single sentence of my responses, he acted like my body was repulsive to him, and he misgendered me within my earshot despite knowing that I'm trans. (His nurse then tried to pretend that he hadn't misgendered me at all, but to her credit, she clearly told him he'd been in error after I politely brought it up to her.) I agree with the other reviews that the receptionists are lovely, and I have had a good experience with another doctor at this clinic before (Dr. Al-Khaifi). But it is not worth the risk of getting Dr. Ramji.

Submitted test sample a week ago, it still haven’t been sent out to examination yet, would the sample still be good??? Need to wait more than 2 weeks for a result?? What if the patient is really urgent for treatment???

Went for a post-surgical follow-up to see Dr. Neera Singal regarding the success of my cross-link surgery. Everything went well. A very good surgeon and doctor. Highly recommended!

The service in this clinic to schedule appointments with your own family doctor is terrible!!! I have been calling for days I have left tons of messages to see if someone can call me to schedule an appointment with my Doctor and nothing. Online you can’t schedule the appt with your own doctor is very hard to schedule the appointments unless you go there directly so If you live far or you moved get another clinic. I feel bad because I have no complaint as far as my Doctor but his staff or the booking system with him needs to improve.. this is very frustrating specially when you are pregnant.

Very rude front desk. Called in for a walkin, when reached, they rejected saying walkins are closed. Its just 6.05pm, their timings shows, closes at 8pm. Fromt desk lady asks me whats the reason for my visit, when i said i have cold and fever, she asks if i did swab test, i said yes and she wants to see the proof. Very unprofessional treatment.

I was seen in the walk-in clinic by Dr Raphael Faraj today. He was very patient and compassionate. A very good doctor! Thank you!

Been coming here for walk in appointments since 2019. The front desk staff are sometimes rude and difficult to communicate with, but my experience with all the doctors has been great. Dr. Shipp is especially wonderful. My only beef with this place is that it takes a long time for them to follow up with you about results or they'll sometimes just forget to send off requisites. You have to call them often to follow up and make sure that it's been done. I've been to numerous walk in clinics in the city, and I have to say that BCML is the only one where doctors even remotely care, and take time to answer your questions. There will be rude front desk staff and administrative issues at every clinic you go to, which is the nature of the underfunded and overworked industry, but at least here you'll get reasonable healthcare. The waiting room is a little dirty and busy, and this can be a stressful environment to be in, but the bathrooms and interior waiting rooms are clean. The key to this place is to call right when they open to ask if they're taking walk ins, and to show up as early as possible. You'll be in and out in a couple of hours. Not ideal, but that's the game we have to play with healthcare these days.

The receptionist and nurse were great, but Dr. Calvin Lei is by far the worst doctor I've encountered. He's impatient, unkind and extremely dismissive. It took him less than 2 minutes to start yelling at me when I probed further about my situation. It may not be part of the job description to be kind to patients but this level of disrespect for human decency is unacceptable. I do not recommend visiting this clinic if you'll end up seeing this doctor.

Dr. Raphael Faraj is not even competent enough to remove impacted ear wax. The reception is useless. And it seems like the nurses work harder than the actual doctors here. They also charge for services that were not offered adequately.

👍👍 My dental appointment was scheduled with a one day turnaround. As the dental hygienists were all busy Dr. Andrew Park had some free time and did the cleaning. This was a complete surprise and demonstrates how Waterview Dental goes above and beyond to serve their patients. Great gem of an office.
