This place used to be super crusty but I’ve noticed with the turnaround in staff, it’s getting friendlier. Coffee excellent.

Worst customer service experience!!! Drove 3 times (I live 40 mins away) for a certain croissant only to be told they were sold out each time. We called this morning and asked them if the ones we wanted would be there and they said yes, "we will be making them all day". Then we got there and they were all gone. We asked several times if any more were being made as this is our third time coming out for these and we were willing to come back/wait. They said no. Then I spent $20 on other items. Then a few mins later the ones I wanted came out and they didn't even apologize! They just said sorry we're busy. So you lied because you're busy? They're always busy so that means they don't give good customer service? The guy making the coffee was also rude. I asked for an extra bag and gave me a little one. Then when I said it's for a few croissants he said oh you needed a big one in the most condescending way! I'm sure their over hype prevents them from caring about their customers but I will be sure to tell everyone about the awful experience. 2 stars because coffee was decent (not the best) and the croissants were good heated up. But I honestly felt like I was pariah there or something.

The coffee and croissant were excellent! Very quick and friendly service. Seating is limited inside and out.

Used to be the best coffee and croissant in the city. Now it’s the opposite. It’s a no go for me. I’ve tried several times to see if it was a one off but there have been too many visits for it to be a one off. Food: Croissants are dense and less tasty. The milk drinks all made the same - like a latte. Service: always unfriendly

Great community spot for croissants. The restaurant has limited seating and can be busy, but it is worth the wait. The staff is kind and fast moving. The croissants are delicious.

I was walking on Roncy when I saw a crazy long line outside this place on a Saturday morning. I figured, if it’s raining and folks are waiting in the line it must be good. Hell yeah it’s good. Probably the best croissants I’ve tried in Toronto. The smoked cheddar and freshly baked butter croissants are out of this world. We wanted to try, ended up buying two bags of them. The americano is tasty and perfectly blended and pairs sublimely with the baked goodies. Keep bakin’ cherry bomb! [Update on February 2023] changing my 5 star to 3 star. Success has sadly changed the attitude of the staff and quality of the coffee. Plus now they’re out of croissants more often than not, I’ve visited them 3 more times and haven’t been able to find the cheddar croissants any more. Their brewed coffee this time was watery and when I brought this up to the staff they were indifferent, didn’t even offer to change it and only offered to top it up with… yes more watery coffee. Couldn’t drink it. The cherry on top was when my wife asked for the washroom to change our baby’s diaper and was refused. Unexpected indifference from the 4 women behind the counter. Won’t be coming back.

I was surprised by the long line for this place but I guess they’re one of the best coffee shops in this side of downtown. I tried their latte, date pecan scone, and gruyere croissant. Latte was slightly colder than I expected and the scone wasn’t that exceptional but croissant was definitely one of the best I’ve ever had.

Butter croissant 🙆🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️(inconspicuous look but surprisingly delicious. Very unique texture, like pretzel? Super dense chewy but still get the buttery flakey layering? Had nothing like this before. Love

Used to go here in 2020, their croissants were the best. Now, not only they aren't as good as they used to be but the service is even worse. I ordered an almond croissant today with my friend who got the chocolate one. I was served a plain croissant with powdered sugar on top and all the almond croissants in the shelves had roasted croissants on top. I asked for it to be changed to one of those and I got the worst attitude ever with a comment saying 'they are all filed anyways'. Customer service is below 0 here unfortunately!

Arrived at 2:50 after a very stressful appointment, and hoped my regular Cherry Bomb Latte would be comforting. There were three people in line ahead of me, so I looked at a window up the street and returned at 2:56 when the line-up cleared. The staff shut the door as I arrived and pointed to a sign on the window that stated they were closing at 3 pm today. The staff turned their back to me and blatantly ignored me as I said "but it's not even 3 yet". I watched them clear away trays of croissants (that I would have happily bought) and couldn't fathom why they wouldn't make one more drink in the few mins leading up to 3 pm, and make one more sale. A very disappointing experience from a coffee shop I have been so loyal to over the past decade. I realize the staff may be dealing with something too if they are closing ea But even a simple apology/explanation would have felt more considerate.

Good coffee and the croissant was good too: I love croissants and have had them *everywhere* so, in my books, this is not a "top 5" croissant that I heard reported, but it was pretty good. Service is fine but it is more of a take out counter than a sit-in café. For that, and the friendly service, I would come back!

This place is a cute find on my first stay in Roncesvalles, by the reviews evidently an institution in the area. Steady business when I arrived Sunday 8:30am, but no line. Croissant was excellent, but coffee did not make it up to my moderate expectations.

Welcoming & quaint little coffee shop in Roncesvalles. Big fan of their beans, esp for espresso Cherry Blossom Special - makes for a delicious espresso / lattes @ home. Ordered the oat milk latte, regular croissant & chocolate croissant. Latte - tasty & just the right temp. Croissant - while delicious, def not a traditional or fluffy French croissant. Had a crunchy exterior (v good) but interior is more doughy than flakey. Same goes w the chocolate croissant. Taste great.

One of my more recent city faves. Perfect coffee and even better croissants.

  • 5/5 staz m. 3 years ago on Google
Great cafe with amazing baked goods and alright drinks. Their coffee & espresso aren't my favourite but I will still happily grab a latte to enjoy with a croissant or scone. Nice selection of sweet and savoury croissants (plain, gruyere cheese, jalapeno and cheddar, almond, chocolate...). Thankfully moved to accepting cards (rather than cash only) a while back. Currently only open for takeout at the front door--ordering from the outside, masks required, hand sanitizer available.

Cherry Bomb is quite possibly one of my favourite cafes in the world. The staff are so kind and remember my order (I go there quite often so it’s probably hard to forget lol). Along with friendliness the cafe itself is so charming and is a part of why Roncy village is so magical. Cherry bomb truly is a staple. I get ground beans and coffee to go here. Super sweet. The banana bread is to die for as well :) Cheers!

I think this place only has high reviews because it’s the only coffee shop close by. I live down the street and one out of ten times someone knows how to steam milk. They really love burning the milk here. Also mistaking milk is a regular thing here. How rude the staff is is just the cherry on top. The only good thing about them is they make a decent almond croissant. That’s the only good thing I can say.

I really want to like this place. Their croissants are quite good. But the coffee is SO BAD. I’m not sure if they refuse to train their baristas or just don’t care, but the milk is burnt 9/10 times. I have had a good coffee remade here but only if you ask for it and the manager is around. I would come here much more often if they had a bit of consistency or care. It’s just disappointing for such a tight knit neighbourhood cafe. It would be so nice if they cared. PLEASE START CARING there’s so much potential!

Honestly I think these are the best croissants in toronto. There crispy on the outside buttery soft and chewy on the inside. If you're lucky enough to get there 30 minutes after they open they're still warm. A huge treat for me. I try and go once a week.

Okay this is our FAVORITE coffee place and we buy our espresso coffee beans (cherry bomb special) from here every weekend. Must try their coffee capp with oat milk or their cortado with their best croissant. I love their staff they always have good energy and they're warm even when it's hectic. Also. The coffee is relatively cheaper for the quality and quantity of the coffee bag. Absolutely must try and you will thank me later :). If you have a dog, grab a bagel from Am bagel, the cherry bomb for coffee then hit high park dog off leash and enjoy ur best weekend morning :).

The best choice for coffee, but not worth the line on weekends.

  • 5/5 Jack C. 1 year ago on Google
Its a very bustling place during the weekend and for good reasons. They have amazing bakeries and good coffee (hit and miss). Though I feel the service good but it's a bit rushed because it's always so busy. Try their croissant and Almond flour meringue ball, delicious !

  • 3/5 Mick D. 2 years ago on Google
Coffee and granola are very nice... staff could be nicer... but I think they are trying to be nicer lately... I imagine it would be hard working there... they are always so busy.. but once you try the coffee (and granola) you will see why!

Excellent americano misto with oat milk. Definitely a stand out coffee shop. Expect a bit of a wait in line with the current pick-up window setup.

  • 5/5 Leah C. 2 years ago on Google
Long lines on Saturday mornings but it's worth it. Pastries are great and the coffee is some of the best I've had in the city. Their decaf is okay (which is the most I can hope for) but the regular caffeinated Americano is stellar.

I visited here because of good reviews and yes! I loved it. There was a line up when I went there (11am weekdays) but did not take too long. Coffee was good and the staff recommended almond croissant which I really enjoyed. Now I am going back here again to try their butter and jalapeños croissants!!

great coffee and even better treats to go along side that. I particularly like the gruyere croissants. Went again yesterday got a brie croissant and blueberry scone. Both were delicious.

Lots of good coffee shops on Roncy but this is by far the best. The establishment itself has its own charm. The location, closer to the lake and on the quieter south side of Roncy which still has its fair share of traffic. The coffee and the pastries are fantastic, can’t wait to go back!

First visit was nearly eight years ago and they have always been serving great coffee, hire friendly staff, and have delicious baked goods. More of a take-away spot than a hangout place, and I miss their date squares, but I still make a trip for a treat or a spro whenever I am in the area!

I haven't written a review for a while but I'm breaking my silence to hype this place. My Oat milk latte was $5!!! That is amazing!!! It was delicious and the texture of the foam was perfect and these are all important things but I was gobsmacked by the price and asked the barista if she was making it with oat milk and she said "Yes. We don't charge for alternative milks." I love this inclusivity. Please give this business all your money

The food and coffee is great. The service is stale.. the girl making my drinks seemed rude and like she didn’t want to be there..her attitude instantly made me regret my tip lol I want to note the taller girl at the cash with the glasses is the only person in my opinion that should be interacting with customers. I was in a great mood and I didn’t like starting my morning speaking with person who clearly didn’t want to interact with me. I like to go to places that make me feel good about going in. There are other businesses in the neighbourhood that better represent the attitude of Roncy.. let’s go to those .

  • 2/5 Alison N. 7 months ago on Google
So their products remain super good quality, but I agree with another review that all the milk drinks are made like lattes. They even call out latte when you ordered something else and get mad when you ask what you ordered for. Oh well, it’s not like there’s a lack of good coffee in Toronto.

The croissants and other baked goods are ABSOLUTELY amazing. The coffee is a nice addition to wash it down. More of a grab and go vibe but you can sit and people watch by the window.

Great local place for coffee & baked goods. Croissants and brioche are our favourites. We appreciate that staff continue to mask - the pandemic is sadly not over and it is good to see local business showing community solidarity.

Popular Roncesvalles takeaway coffee institution. The coffee is average but the baked goods are next level. Just make sure you get there before 11 am. The goodies go fast.

Wow this has to be the best coffee I've ever had. Hits you with that energy and motivation you need and almond milk isn't extra which is how it should be. I've tried the almond, classic and jalapeño croissant all are so delicious im craving one just thinking about it. And the banana bread is a must try too. Also vegan which is great!!

These are the best croissants I've ever had in my entire life. Toronto has a lot of good cafes but this is where you taste a croissant and have your life changed. They serve a selection from your standard butter croissant, to almond and some aged cheeses. I don't have a favorite - I absolutely love all of them!!! It is cash only and although there is sitting space, they serve everything as "to-go".

  • 5/5 Anita D (. 2 years ago on Google
Great coffee! Ordered a drip and a latte (other coffees , tea, and hot chocolate also available). Good selection of baked goods. Tried the date + nut scone - moist but still light, with date and nut pieces -- and cinnamon-cranberry brioche - crispy outside, tender inside, lots of cinnamon flavour and tons of cranberries). Also available were croissants, cookies, blueberry + lemon scone, muffins. Ordering at the door. They ask that you wear masks in line and at the door. Always a line up but it moves relatively fast and the wait is well-rewarded! They also sell their own coffee beans. Recommended!

Very disappointed after some pp recommended this place. Even though I was the first person when this place opened, croissants looked old (like made last night), were dry, tasteless and even my son (who is crazy for croissants) rejected them. They weren’t terrible but weren’t good either, at least not french standards. Cherry on top of the cake: personnel were rude. Not coming back.

Cherry Bomb definitely has the best baked goods and good coffee, but their service is really terrible. It isn't just slow, they actually treat customers with contempt. Go there for great product but be prepared to be treated like an inconvience for being there.
