With the continued closing of so many gay clubs in toronto, this place is really wasting its potential. Old management and staff do very little to revitalize the space or their events... Their online presence and weekly updates are really subpar with other clubs and bars and they make little effort to revitalize. Shame. THIS IS FOR THE OWNER. You cannot legally require guests to have a 2 minimum drink purchase in order to get a glass of water from the bar. Not only does this make no business sense, but it is highly irresponsible. I have smart serve and understand policies related to serving alcohol very well. I have been coming to this establishment for years and recently on more than one occasion I have been denied getting a glass of water from the bar regardless of whether I have spent a $100 on drinks or if I've just arrived. This certainly does not make patrons feel welcome and again is very irresponsible for a place serving alcohol.

I walked into this bar tonight; I took off my coat, stood in line at the bar, and then the bartender told me I was getting kicked out for stealing someone’s shot. Quite violently. I didn’t steal anyone’s shot. When he was yelling at me to leave the bar I said, okay, check the cameras tomorrow and you will see I stole no one’s shot… he kept cursing and swearing at me harder. I was there for like maybe 10 minutes.I have never been so confused, it was crazy. The bar manager changed to say I was being kicked out for not wearing a mask and was shouting and spitting on my face as I left. I’ve been going here for like 15 years. Maybe they think all redhead’s look alike? I have no idea why I was accused of stealing someone’s shot. I will never return to this bar. I am going to tell everyone I know about this experience. Just a no. Don’t go here. I never received a response by email from the bar or on Facebook.

We’ve been coming to the BE for years, the bar service is friendly. The Sunday bbqs used to be fun, but lately, unfriendly attitude, hopefully that’ll change in near future! Maybe get somebody else doing the bbq, this is a bar with food availability and it’s nothing fancy but don’t be a rude to the patrons!

Very cozy place, a large selection of drinks saved here from the rain. :) There is tea and coffee, a lot of comfortable rooms to play, meet or relax 💋 There is a little trick to get a free cocktail and a separate room for 2 hours, you need to register on site 909gay,com 😍and give the bartender a profile number.

Very disappointed here, not very friendly bar staff. This place is a mixed crowd. Was there many years ago, the place was fun, friendly and a mens bar. I'm a male gay person that goes to gay male bars. Will not return to this place.

I came with some friends to the jockstrap party yesterday which was great by itself. But unfortunately we also have some bad feedback to share with you. And we think it’s important to be said because we like your place and your parties, but yesterday some points were really disappointing. First the line outside was crazy long and we were frozen. We know that you have to respect the capacity of the venue. BUT… when came our turn (around 11:45pm) the security guy at the entrance changed. And the new one let a group of people skip the line against cash 😡. They wanted to hide it but we we clearly saw them hand the money. Then the guys pretended to show their forearms with the stamp. But we were right behind them at the entrance of the club where they received their real stamp. It’s ok to make the line, even for 1h30, because the event worth it. But please, respect those who wait that long in the cold. Then, inside, the line for the coat check was insane when we arrived and when we left. Not sure that the new way to proceed works well. 😕 Again the party was great but I thought it was important to share an honest feedback so that our next experience in the black eagle will be better again 😉

The front door bouncer here on Sunday 10/24 at midnight was a pretty big jerk. Insulting your potential patrons seems like a lousy business plan.

Was there for their Sunday BBQ with Costco burgers and buns taste very good with all the trimmings. People friendly and social. Had couple drinks and found the dark room 😜

Great gay bar and event space. The events are all very unique so look ahead of time and pick fun ones to attend.

My boyfriend and his friend went to a jock event here a few weeks ago and the friend had his drink spiked by another patron. Be careful and attentive to what’s going on around you

Bartender were very friendly. Dark room a bit too sticky for my taste, wasn`t the greatest. Nevertheless I enjoyed the place and will come again. Great bar for bear / leather fans who seek a more mature audience.

This is my go-to place for fun on Church Street, mainly because I'm not into the drag scene. Don't ever change this, please! Great staff, great guys, and the adult movies shown are pretty hot! The same can't be said for the dark maze. Can you please turn down the air conditioning back there? It's very cold and that's the only reason I'm not giving a 5 star review. Sometimes it's so cold my teeth chatter, even when there are plenty of guys there! Otherwise, keep up the great work!

Not a drag bar!!! My heaven! I think this is the only gay bar in Toronto that doesn’t host drag queens every night. It’s just nice to have some variety in the village. That alone is 5 stars.

I am a tourist and came thinking it was an eagle bar like in the rest of the world. But, it is Arabic music and a very mix environment. Service seems good, but I would not go back. It is not a real Eagle bar. 😉

I was at The Black Eagle this past Saturday night for the Daddy Next Door party, Dwayne Minard's exclusive party. I had a wonderful time...friendly staff, amazing music, hot gogo dancers and a beautiful atmosphere.

The interior and patio spaces are very stylish. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a bar that looks this good. I love the wall of photography negatives upstairs. A great spot to have a beer with friends.

It's not a nice place. I asked for double vodka with coke and what I got is coke and a bit of vodka.

Proof of vaccination? Making their own laws for no reason. The guy at the door was very rude about it too. Like atleast learn how to talk to people if you’re going to impose rules that infringe on people’s rights.

Still my favorite bar in the village. Staff are extremely polite and friendly. Recently we brought a friend from Tobago to the Eagle, needless to say he enjoyed the upstairs.

Bought a 20 cad drink and asked for glass of tap water. Water got denied. Stop requesting deletion of my review. No water no tip.

I wish black eagle will hire a better disc jockey on Sunday retro many customers are tired of hearing the same retro music every Sunday the same drag queen music of Madonna Cher Whitney Houston we like to hear better retro music

When you charge $10 then you should offer some drink in the glass rather than few drops.

Went here for a puppy romp. It is a nice place however my biggest complaint is the fact that I payed 10$+ for a Corona. Any normal bar you'd pay 5 maybe 6 dollars for one.

This is a great place to run into lots of beautiful men. Happened to be there on Sunday afternoon when they were having a burger BBQ and underwear event. Hot! My only complaint? The sorry beer selection. Their Labatt-only lineup doesn't cut it in the era of great craft beer. Maybe the sexy guys make up for the lousy beer...?

Just wanted to make everyone aware that this place charges and forces people to pay $4 for eska water bottle where as it is illegal for any establishment in Toronto that serves alcohol to charge for water!

I am a bisexual man, but to be honest I'm actually gay because like if you kiss guys sometimes, you're gay. So anyways, my friend and I were looking for a place to have some fun and we came across this place on google so we decided to go. And honestly it was one of the best decisions of my life. When we got there, we started with some puppy romping and then things got heated. We had some drinks and started dancing and it was just a total zest fest. Great environment and lots of good looking dudes. Would recommend to anyone that's curious.
