Extremely unhelpful. I went there today with my puppy who was extremely uncomfortable based on constant itching and scratching. I tried to get into my vet, but for some reason they were not open, and phone system not working. The woman at the front desk said I could not schedule and appointment until my vet sent over the records. Might take a few days. Then I could fill out the form and call to schedule an appointment. Terrible! Surprise surprise! Looks like the management only respond to positive reviews. Clearly the unhelpful attitude of the support staff is something that is condoned by management. As I said, I was not expecting a last minute booking for that as you mentioned in your response. The pandemic is blamed for everything. There is no excuse for rudeness and lack of understanding, I think businesses need to stop hiding behind that. I expected your response to be as flimsy as you proved it to be. Hang on to your existing clients. My review was directed to any future clients you might be looking for a vet.

We love taking our pets to this clinic! All the staff is helpful and responsive. When our puppy had stomach troubles, the vets and other staff were compassionate and followed up on how our puppy was doing. The staff take their time to answer our questions. I also appreciate their strong focus on preventative care. When our cat needed a dental cleaning, the staff proactively pointed out one of their preventative care plans which would lower the cost for us. Our pets are now both on a preventative plan, which means the costs of their routine care are predictable. We have the most experience with Dr Low and I like scheduling my pets to see her specifically when possible - I'm sure the other vets are great too, but we really like Dr Low as she's very friendly and knowledgeable as well as kind to our pets.

Doctor and vet assistant were very nice. HOWEVER, when I mentioned that I did not want to have expensive extra services, when the bill was presented, the receptionist was not very nice about it, and kept answering to my questions in not-polite ways. When I asked how much my pet food was going to be, I was quoted around 40$, and then had to pay 150$…… when asked about a urinary test, it was quoted 100$, paid 250$…. Not cool. From a regular expected visit, I ended up paying 600$. Most likely will not come back, or I won’t recommend this place to anyone. Please be clearer and honest with your fees and services, when asked.

Our dog Lilly has been a patient here for something like 7 years. We really feel like the team cares about her and they repeatedly go above and beyond, doing anything and everything they can for us. Highly, highly recommended.

I brought my dog in cause he had diarrhea and a few other matters and it was IMPERATIVE he be operated on in case of blockage. The surgery was done and nothing was found except $5,000.00 our of my wallet. Not long after he was fine despite the surgery. I brought him in cause of infections between his toes. I was given chlorohexidine 2% for 35.00 plus tax. As I ran out I phoned my personal pharmacy and detailed what I was using and the pharmacist told me he had the same mediation...400ml twice the amount i got a the clinic for only $6.00 Then my poor dog was peeing blood. The initial exam came to almost $474.60. The blood test revealed nothing abnormal. I was told an invasive test had to be done and the dog had to be put to sleep for it. This would also include x ray/scan. That would come up to another approx $800.00 I went on to a site that I was recommended by my dog's breeder and he told me of a product that only costs about $60.00 I bought it and a day after using the blood in the urine stopped and saved myself about $800.00 I brought my dog in the day after this review. I saw a different vet. SHE WAS FANTASTIC. Very professional. I never of leaving this clinic..have been just very annoyed. My dog still has the infection between his toes so I made an appointment for tomorrow and that will again involve lots of $$ with no guarantee of success. I am a pensioner and have limited funds. I have come to think that pensioners, unless they have a good pension not to get a pet. You cant afford it. __-__------_----- I have written a long time before posting this final review. On November twenty-two 2022 I brought Willy in because he couldn't pee. I'm going to make a long story very short. Because I was incapable of paying the ridiculous cost for surgery (well over $10,000) I had to let him go. We were having a good morning together and we were going to go to Toronto Island. Willy never left the clinic. My 3 year old friend died there. He was a service dog He saved my life. I could not save his because of vet bills.

This was my vet of choice years ago, then moved. I tried several others but came back to this one after several years. The doctor I liked retired and I'm trying to decide if I like it as well as I did before. One of the vets suggested I put my dog down since I could not afford a $4000 - $5000 surgery. I didn't. When I told her, she was quite pleased. I phoned last Saturday at 1:50 to order dog food. I usually get a recording which I was expecting. However, a female answered and was quite put upon because they close at 2:00. She had quite the attitude and it has left me with a "bad taste in my mouth." Not sure how much longer I'll be going here.

I've been bringing my dog to this clinic for basically a decade now and I honestly cannot express how much I appreciate the patience and care they've provided over this time. I was a bit nervous my last visit because the veterinarians I'm use to have either moved on or were unavailable for the time slot I was booked for. Dr. Erin was very kind and patient though as she spoke to me about my dog and I'm definitely less nervous about future appointments. The rest of the staff have also been consistently friendly and welcoming over the years I've visited. Low key shout out to Shivonne, I really appreciate you engaging me and asking after Lucky whenever I visit, even when half the time my response is stilted. Please don't bring this up next time I visit, I'm too awkward for that. Anyways, I always leave this clinic feeling reassured that my dog is in good hands. Thank you guys so much!

I took my New Kitten to Cabbagetown Pet Clinic for the First time this Week. Even Before I arrived for the Visit the Communication was Fantastic. I was able to get Sophie Registered, Sent my Insurance Information and even was able to send her Previous Vet Records all before going for the appointment which made things very streamlined once I arrived. My Appointment had to be changed because of an Emergency but even that was well Co-Ordinated. Once I did arrive the Clinic is very Welcoming, extremally clean and organized. The Front Desk Staff Jenna and Ashley were very pleasant and knowledgeable. Paulo whom Sophie and Myself saw first was Great, Very Upbeat, Friendly and Organized. Dr Jennifer Day saw Sophie after Paolo and I was very Impressed. She has a way about her that makes you feel very comfortable and in good hands. Dr Day loves animals and it shows. She gave me comprehensive advice and Tells it like it is. A Straight Shooter. Although this was my first Vet Experience for a Cat I must say their Fees were very reasonable for a First Check Up. I am Happy I chose Cabbagetown Vet Clinic. I would Highly Recommend.

I am so happy that I gave this place a try! I have a very anxious cat and Dr Miller (and all of the staff) were so patient and calm that our visit was a night and day difference to some previous vet visits at other clinics. From the onboarding questionnaire to the visit itself, I can tell that this clinic really cares and wants to do the best job possible for addressing any issues and concerns for pet health. They really listened and also got me involved in the planning , so that I could make the best informed decision based on their suggestions(rather than just deciding for me). I am confident that the care plan discussed in the visit will help to improve my cat's issues, and I will definitely be coming back to this clinic. I would 100% recommend this clinic to anyone in the area!

I have only ever had great experiences with Cabbagetown Pet Clinic. They always take the time to listen to my concerns and never making me feel silly for having them. Both the vets and the vet techs provide kind and attentive care, and the receptionists are always super friendly. The clinic is actually one of my dog's favourite places, which I think says a lot! :)

Top-notch care from the 1st visit. It is clear that the entire staff love what they do. My incredibly nervous cat was calm and chill for his appointments due to the kindness and care he received. I was equally nervous, and they put me at ease, too. A big thank you to CPC!

My furbaby, Carleigh, suddenly became ill. After googling her symptoms I called her regular doctor. It would be a few days before I could get Carleigh it even for a drop off appointment even when I explained her symptoms and what the University of Google suggested. A one-on-one appointment would be exactly a week later. Not good enough!!! Google stated she should be seen within 24hours. I called a second hospital, one that I used many, many years ago 1980's and early 1990's, until I moved from that area. Once I stated her symptoms they were able to take Carleigh in the very next morning. I arrived at 8:50am.The two women at the reception area were wonderful and made me feel comfortable. Carleigh made a few messes and they were cleaned up without her being chastised and without me feeling embarrassed and a failed furbaby mom. When we went in to meet the doctor, he was friendly, young, pleasant, very knowledgeable and thorough in his explanation of her illness and treatment. Carleigh was most relaxed with him which is another important reason why we will be back again. He was also very respectful of my financial position, senior on a fixed income. There were not t any negative responses when I refused a more expensive treatment over something cheaper. This made me feel more comfortable as he cheerfully gave an alternative treatment without judgement. I came home with two medications for Carleigh after given thorough instructions on how they should be administered. She received said medications as soon as we got home and later in the evening she was already showing a marked improvement. I have two dogs so will definitely take them both in when necessary knowing we could also discuss financial alternatives when it came to their treatment while still in the exam room and not be met with a surprise as we were checking out. The financial aspect was discussed in privacy as we decided on treatment.

We had a great experience at the clinic with our two cats. The staff were so kind the whole way through, and they really took the time to explain everything thoroughly. We are happy to have found such a lovely clinic nearby.

My cat and I had an excellent experience at Cabbagetown Pet Clinic and I cannot recomend their services enough. My cat fell ill last week but he wasn't sick enough to take to the emergency vet -- after calling around different vets in the city, Cabbagetown Pet Clinic was the only provider that was able to give me a timely appointment for which I was immensely grateful. The clinic was clean and quiet when we arrived for the appointment for which I was thankful as my cat isn't a fan of loud noises. The front desk staff member was extremely helpful and polite, and got us set up in the exam room right away -- she was even so kind as to help me order a product that was out of stock. Once situated in the exam room, we met with Dr. Kavonic, who has a calm and soothing manner about her which, as my cat was visibly nervous, I very much appreciated. After her examination Dr. Kavonic took the time to explain her findings with me and recommended a treatment plan for my cat. As this was my first in-person veterinary appointment, I wasn't sure what to expect, and asked a fair amount of questions which Dr. Kavonic took the time to answer in detail. I was also extremely impressed with the two veterinary technicians who assisted in the appointment as they did a great job of distracting my cat while he got an injection. They also explained his medication to me and ensured I understood the dosage and how to administer each medication. Overall I couldn't be happier with the level of care my cat received at Cabbagetown Vet Clinic and would trust them with my current and future beloved pets.

The whole team is so responsive and helpful at Cabbagetown Pet Clinic. I'm very happy that they try very hard to accommodate my dog who is very scared of dogs. At our appt, we saw Dr. Jennifer Day and she is absolutely amazing!

I dropped of my little pup at the Vets for a check up and vaccinations. Everyone was very friendly and professional, well before the appointment. Covid measures are very safe and made me feel comfortable. The process is great, I received a great call from the Dr. With a great explanation of all tests done. Tests that can be done and other preventative measures. I also received a follow up call the day after to check up on the little girl. She’s doing very well, thank you for taking great care for her!

First time visiting. Got friendly and diligent support by the staff scheduling my appointment and uploading my cat's previous studies to the system. Waiting time upon arrival was minimum. During our visit, Dr. Ellison was approachable, explained everything in detail and showed genuine interest in my cat's wellbeing. He was gentle and patient during the examination, gave follow up recommendations and remained always mindful of prescribing only what was necessary for my pet's symptoms at the moment. We will definitely make Cabbagetown Pet Clinic our go-to veterinary hospital.

Any place that accommodates, helps, accepts animals will always get 5stars hands down. Don't let the fact just because it's a vet doesn't automatically get the 5stars. . It only means my experience then an there an because it was my girl being looked after is why I give my 5star rating. I understand everyone has there own opinion an experiences. This was mine.

Love this clinic. Our cat is very skittish and every time I've been here, the staff and vets have been so good with her. They always address my concerns, are very informative and follow-up with how my cat is doing. Also, the online booking process is very easy and helpful.

Amazing experience at this clinic! I was super stressed out about my puppy, they spoke to me last minute before closing which i’m so grateful for. I was able to secure an appointment the next morning & was blown away by the service. Every staff member was so friendly & welcoming. I will 100% be going here from here on out with my two pups Judy & Elmer :).

I think it’s disgusting how a vet can know an outcome of a pet, and instead of giving the patients family the tough facts, your clinic insists on squeezing them for every penny they can, so much so, that when the obvious outcome of death happens, you’ve already taken so much that the family can’t even afford the ridiculous cremation costs to give their loving pet a good send off. Shame on this clinic for gouging and playing on this woman’s heart strings by taking almost every penny she had for a 14 year old cat that they knew had a very low survival chance. Having gone through this same situation with my 11 year old fur baby in Aug 2023, I was truly blessed to have a vet that cared more about my baby girl suffering, then she did about lining her own pockets. So sad you people see nothing wrong with this. Ughhh so gross
