Took
my
cat
in
for
urinalysis
and
a
blood
test
in
August
2022.
This
was
when
the
COVID
measures
were
still
in
place
so
I
had
to
wait
outside
the
clinic.
After
over
2
hours,
they
called
me
to
tell
me
that
my
cat
was
too
aggressive
and
I
could
either
come
back
or
sedate
her
which
would
cost
$220
extra.
I
had
already
missed
work
to
bring
her
in,
and
just
wanted
to
get
the
tests
over
with
so
I
agreed
to
the
sedation.
I
think
the
pricing
was
fair
and
I
was
informed
ahead
of
time.
It
was
just
a
really
poor
experience
since
all
communications
were
over
the
phone
and
I
couldn't
see
or
be
with
my
cat.
All
I
knew
was
that
she
was
likely
very
scared
for
over
2
hours.
It
felt
like
the
COVID
measures
were
a
bit
overkill
and
they
really
made
our
experience
a
lot
worse.
When
the
urinalysis
results
came
back,
Dr.
Bonder
informed
me
that
my
cat
had
a
severe
bladder
infection
and
also
Stage
3
kidney
disease.
She
told
me
that
the
kidney
disease
was
not
reversible.
She
suggested
to
do
some
more
testing
to
get
a
prognosis
of
how
long
she
would
survive,
which
would
cost
$1000.
She
also
claimed
to
have
felt
a
lump
that
could
indicate
cancer.
She
made
no
mention
that
the
kidney
disease
could
have
been
related
to
the
bladder
infection.
We
took
our
cat
to
another
vet,
who
told
us
that
the
kidney
disease
may
have
been
caused
by
the
bladder
infection
travelling
up
to
the
kidneys.
We
treated
the
bladder
infection
with
2
courses
of
antibiotics.
Six
months
later,
her
values
indicate
only
borderline
kidney
disease,
Stage
1
at
most.
I
have
taken
her
to
2
vets
since
going
to
the
Downtown
Toronto
Cat
Clinic
and
no
one
has
found
any
lumps
indicative
of
cancer.
I
think
this
clinic
has
fair
pricing,
they
send
you
estimates
before
proceeding.
I
think
this
place
would
probably
be
fine
if
you
just
need
to
take
your
cat
in
for
routine
check-ups
and
they
are
otherwise
healthy.
In
my
case,
I
feel
like
other
vets
have
been
able
to
give
me
better
information
based
on
the
same
test
results
that
Dr.
Bonder
had.
Other
vets
have
also
acknowledged
that
my
cat
is
aggressive,
but
they
have
never
had
to
sedate
her
for
a
blood
draw.
Despite
being
a
cat-only
clinic,
I
don't
think
they
are
particularly
good
at
calming
cats.
