We recently attended Shen Yun this past weekend at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. This was our first time here. The theatre is absolutely stunning, clean and beautiful. Acoustics were good, but a tad underwhelming; at least when seated in the Grand Ring Box V seats. Being past the March 21st mask mandate, it was a little disappointing how they still demanded masks at this venue - and were very adamant about it throughout the performance. Yes the the theater can have their own requirements but we're past this now and it's just silly. It'd have been nice to enjoy the show without these ridiculous masks. We want to go see The Magic Flute in May, but will have to see if the masks requirements here is lifted first, don't want to spend upwards of $600 for tickets and have to sit through it with masks on.

Amazing space! From the minute you walk in you know you are in for an experience. The bright spacious lobby and grand stairs are only the starter for what you will see once you enter the theater. Staff is amicable and give you clear information. Composed out of 5 rings visibility is granted pretty much from anywhere. Really enjoyed the sleeping beauty ballet and looking forward to go to more beautiful performances.

A really beautiful theater where you can see the ballet and the opera. They did an outstanding job with the nutcracker and followed all the covid safety protocols making it a very comfortable experience. It was great to be back!

I've been attending for many years now and have always enjoyed the performances. The theatre is beautiful and no matter if you're seated at the very top, the experience is still wonderful.

We attended Romeo and Juliet performance by the National Ballet of Canada. The theatre is so well designed, it seems to afford a good view of the stage in a normal seating posture. One thing that could have been better is the fixing of focus lights on the overhang of the balcony, which made viewers on the first row sit up and lean over in order to view the stage. (We were not in the first row.) However, the performance was superb, and we enjoyed the ambience of the theatre.

The centre is a magnificent place for performances. Through architecturally clever design and artful use of glass and light wood, the 2700+ seat theatre is airy, spacious yet intimate. The wide stairways move the audience from the ground floor to various "rings" of the centre seamlessly. Even at maximum capacity one will not likely feel lost or disoriented. The various bars/concession areas are well organized and well staffed. Their order ahead system is effective and convenient. The performance space is spacious and the acoustic is excellent. The seats are comfortable and easy to get to. The stage is expensive and deep with great height clearance. We attended the Mozart opera Don Giovanni and it was wonderful. The set design and the lighting was both one of the best I have ever experienced. The orchestra well is roomy and the sizable orchestra performed really well that evening. The vocal performance was excellent as well, and the theatre's acoustic was well suited for operatic performances.

I went to ballet performing names "Cinderella". It was a great experience for me. the annoying part was that there were many children in the performing centre which made me distracted. Below is my research about the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts: It is a world-renowned performing arts venue located in the heart of downtown Toronto, Canada. This stunning facility is home to the Canadian Opera Company and the National Ballet of Canada, and it is widely regarded as one of the finest performing arts venues in North America. The Four Seasons Centre was designed by the architectural firm Diamond Schmitt Architects and opened in 2006. The building is a marvel of modern design, with sleek lines and a unique, horseshoe-shaped structure that provides excellent sightlines for all audience members. Inside, the theater boasts a state-of-the-art stage and acoustics, making it an ideal space for opera and ballet performances. In addition to its impressive architectural features, the Four Seasons Centre is also known for its commitment to sustainability. The building was designed with numerous eco-friendly features, including a green roof that helps to reduce energy consumption and a rainwater harvesting system that supplies water for irrigation. The Four Seasons Centre is not just a venue for live performances; it is also a hub for arts education and community engagement. The venue offers a range of programs and workshops for people of all ages, from children to seniors. These programs aim to inspire creativity, foster a love of the arts, and create a sense of community among Torontonians. Overall, the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts is a stunning venue that showcases the best of Toronto's arts and culture scene. It is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the city, and it is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who experience it.

The Canadian Opera Company are resident here at aThe Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Wonderful venue for opera with very affordable pricing. Very high caliber productions every season. I have attended Wagner's The Flying Dutchman and Puccini's Tosca last year and earlier this year and was not disappointed. Highly recommended.

Experienced Macbeth Opera - a masterful interpretation of Shakespeare's timeless tragedy, in downtown Toronto on a sunny breezy day. Was very impressed by the contrast between the dark and the light that was emphasized throughout the performance. The intricate staging and lighting design added to the overall effect, creating a visually stunning and emotionally engaging experience for the audience. The haunting music by the awesome band and powerful vocals of the performers created an atmosphere of tension and drama. Such a great experience to enjoy the power of the arts that conveys complex human emotions and themes in a way that is both moving and thought-provoking.

I had seats in the orchestra and my view was pretty good except.when the action was in the back corner, but overall I enjoyed watching the spectacular dancers. The music sounded great and made the experience that much more dramatic. It's fun to take a wander around the building to check out the stairs and sculptures. There were a decent number of washrooms. There's a small boutique with cute ballet themed gifts and books. A decent selection of snacks and drinks are available before the show and during intermission though expect theatre prices. I'm going back to see another ballet but this time I will be way up in ring 5 for a totally different vantage point. Can't wait!

I loved the opera here. Coffee is 5$ Seats are semi uncomfortable. Formal dress code. 20$ underground parking. The subway station is closed until 2027. Average opera length is 3 hours. Not suitable for small children (unless a musical or ballet) (they will be bored out of there minds) Most operas are not in English but have subtitles on top of the stage. Very cool visual effects. I sat on floor 5 and was unable to see the orchestra below.

Incredible presentation by the Canadian Opera Company in La Bohème! Going to this venue is always delightful, the service and the atmosphere are 5-Stars! There is no dress code but trust me you will not be overdressed if you were something nice 😊 If you go by car and need parking, go to the Green P underground parking lot under the Toronto’s City Hall, not expensive and a 5 min walk away from this venue

Wonderful and beautiful venue for seeing the ballet. Fantastic that can pre-order wine for intermission. Lots of seat space in the orchestra level. Such a lovely way to have a night out. Easy Parking underground. Fantastic in winter bc can leave coat in car. Vaccine QR code and masks required to enter.

Visited for the first time to opera auditorium and watched #TOSCA, Puccini’s Classic thriller. The performance was spectacular and being a first time opera audience, I would say a must watch show. Great ambience ✌🏻

Bottomline: spectacular architecture and audio. A must visit especially for ballet performances! I bought a ballet subscription last year and couldn't have been happier. I went to see the National Ballet of Canada perform the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, A Streetcar Named Desire and Swan Lake. Be prepared to be immersed! The audio and set are spectacular!

super nice place for performances! Beautiful stage. Everyone can enjoy the show. Easy to park the car and the garage is very clean. This is super uncommon in Downtown Toronto. Recommended Btw, the nutcracker show is the most beautiful stage I have ever watched!

The performance center is a perfect combination of modern and classic design the lines are simple the architecture is very welcoming the choice of wood and the coloring is perfect. The acoustic inside are excellent for all the offers that I've seen in there and lay out of the entire building is very well designed.

I attended the Nutcracker for closing night and it was fabulous! The design of the building is very cool, lots of glass. Service at the bar was quick and friendly. They had cool cups you could bring into the theatre. I sat on the orchestra level and the seats were amazing! I wouldn’t highly recommend coming here and seeing the Nutcracker.

Beautiful venue and this was the view from BB/AA on the first floor on the left side. The chairs can be turned for a more comfortable viewing position. Saw the nutcracker with my partner and we really enjoyed it. The snacks were decent we got the charcuterie box. The tea was the McDonald’s brand tea… Overall great experience.

I went here for the first time to see the Nutcracker. What an impressive building. It has a clean/modern aesthetic. The staff were both helpful and friendly. The seating in the theatre was also comfortable, though I wished it had a bit more of an incline in the orchestra seating as if you sat behind tall people you would not be able to see the stage well.

I bought tickets for The Nutcracker just before Christmas. This was a beautiful theater and production. The seats are comfortable and visibly is excellent. This theater has lots of open concept reception areas and easily wheelchair accessible.

Came to see the nutcracker, and it was lovely. Staff are very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend seeing the nutcracker. The show was beautiful, and the music was lovely. It really feels like you're being transported elsewhere. Be warned that while the show is on, if you have to use the washroom, you'll need someone to let you in, which could mean you wait outside for 20 mins. Highly recommend seeing the nutcracker

First time attending a show and seeing the Annual Nutcracker Ballet. Usually I would see the one in Mississauga at Living Arts Centre, this year 2023 I wanted to try a different venue. The pricing in comparison, while the National Ballet of Canada is more expensive (for good reason) - I would say it was Money well spent. The stage set, the costumes, and energy are superb as well as stunning. Absolutely loved the sugar plum fairies scene, from the gorgeous tutus, tiaras, the falling snow flakes , the rotating hanging ones above the staged and the stage set itself you can tell a lot of work has gone into the production. (Following theatre etiquette, photos during the showing was not allowed ) We were seated on the first floor section S # 12 & 11. When I bought the tickets I was afraid it would be to far when in reality they were decent seats ! I would try for section M or P next year. Maybe even the Royal box, we got to explore the other seating area during the interlude. In comparison to the Living Arts Centre production, the one in Toronto has a live Orchestra and the story is different in that instead of a Love story - the story line focuses on brother and sister finally learning to get along. I hope to take adult ballet lessons one day, seeing the Nutcracker always inspires me to give Ballet a try. Will definitely be back next year

Went to see the Nutcracker Ballet and it was fabulous. The staff at the refreshment stand were so kind and patient with my daughter. They were helpful and smiled and friendly. The whole staff were great courteous and polite. The giftshop were just as wonderful.

Beautiful venue. No coat check though and the parking isn't very accessible that this time. York street to access the underground parking is blocked on one end so you can only access parking going from Richmond Street, not Queen. The signage wasn't great so we missed it and had to park at the city hall/Sheraton parking. Not great when it's cold out and you accompany children or adults with special needs, like the show we attended last night. It was a relaxed show for SN and kids.

This is an amazing space. The performances are incredible!! Furthermore, the staff is always friendly and informative, making the experience even more exciting. The building itself is beautiful as well! Definitely a must see in Toronto.

Beautiful modern venue. Good sight-lines and acoustics (as far as a layman like myself can judge). Padded, relatively comfortable seating. Spacious lobby. Any staff the I interacted with seemed friendly and accommodating. Easily accessible via public transit, and nearby parking under Nathan Phillips Square. What's not to like?

Was blessed to see Onegin performed by the National Ballet of Canada. It was a truly wonderful performance. Nice to see a ballet I've never see before

Beautiful, airy, clean. Lovely ambience. The seats are very small with very little legroom. And I am 5'2". It's cramped for taller people

This is a beautifully designed, well constructed building. Diamond Schmitt were the architects. There are free performances in the amphitheatre where one can sit on steps designed for watching either a voice, instrumental or dance performance. To access the upper level, there’s a magnificent glass staircase that seems to float. There one can enjoy a panoramic view of University Avenue and surrounding area since this building is located at the corner of Queen St and University.

La Boheme is my favorite opera and the Toronto cast and orchestra did an AMAZING job bringing laughter and tears. This was our first time at the Four Seasons Performing Arts Centre and while the ambiance is not the same as in an old Opera house, the sound and visibility was on point. We had box H seats and great views of the stage and orchestra pit. We will definitely be back again!

  • 5/5 Satarupa 5 months ago on Google
Beautiful infrastructure, I watched my first opera here La Boheme on the opening day in October and it was a lovely experience. The seating was comfortable, the subtitles screen made it easier for Audience to understand the language and the live orchestra was amazing.

Architecture at its best. Beautiful clean lines and curves, use of materials, space, light and art. A wonderful place to enjoy the opening night of the Canadian Opera Company's new season.

The Four Seasons Theatre is everything it says it is. Beautiful to look at, excellent views of the stage no matter where you are seated, perfect acoustics and seating that is comfortable beyond any other theatre in the city. I love this place. One of the very best!

The place/venue is good. Since this rating is for FSC. I respectively put in five stars BUT Yesterday we watched Shen Yun. This morning I received an email asking for a survey. This is what I wrote. "I decided to take the survey thinking I can share some of my dissatisfaction with the show. But again disappointed to find out that none of the questions pertain to the improvement of the show but more on how to advertise and sell more shows. The show was sub-standard, stale and unimaginative.  I was really excited to finally go. I'm a patron for musical arts and theater. This show and format is a grade school performance show that I would expect when I'm forced to watch a performance in the school gym. Nothing exciting. Does not capture any imagination. Pure disappointment. I've always known gong in, that this is somewhat political. But when, as a paying customer (and its overpriced) is expecting a show, I could stand a message hidden here and there but overt propaganda is not a place for paid entertainment. Hoping For Better. Completely Underwhelmed Will not recommend."

We saw Shen Yun here and the place has parking for $25 which is great price. The place is nice inside and seating is nice as you can see the stage with people ahead of you. Been here also for the Nutcracker in the box seats and to be honest i like the floor seats better. Will come again

Beautiful theatre. Seats with a good view. Great snack and drinks bar before the performance and intermission, public seating areas are well laid out. Subway stop adjacent, very convenient.

State of the art place to attend cultural performances. Some seats better than others and ticket prices reflect your selection. Line ups for washrooms should be anticipated as with any large event.
