The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery is a true gem! The rotating exhibitions constantly surprise and inspire me with their amazing artworks. It's a joy to see the new pieces every time I visit. I love how they provide a drop-by section, especially for kids, where they can showcase their creativity. The gallery offers paper and color pencils, making it easy for everyone to participate. The current theme of "design your own fairy tea set" was a delightful experience, and I had a great time crafting my own creation (attached picture). What's even better is that this museum is always free for the public! It's incredible how they prioritize accessibility and ensure that art is available to all. The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery is a must-visit for art enthusiasts and families alike. With its ever-changing exhibitions, creative opportunities, and commitment to inclusivity, it's a place where imagination comes to life.

This is a small gallery. The exhibition was rose windows, and an exhibition 21 pillows. Both exhibitions complimented each other. Walking thru the gift shop was exquisite. In there the light came thru various pieces. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted at the door.

This is a fantastic little gallery. My daughter came here for a weeklong camp and she had a great time. The staff was friendly and encouraging, provided guidance, but also gave a lot of freedom to create whatever they wanted. At the end of the week, the kids got to bring in their family to show off what they had worked on, which was nice. There's a nice gift shop too, with a lot of beautiful pieces you can bring home, though they are pricey, as you would expect. Great place for a short visit, or to sign up kids for art camp.

Wonderful exhibition, tastefully displayed. When most museums charge for admission, it's wonderful to visit one that didn't.

Hard to rate a free gallery anything less than 5. For lovers of the arts there is lots to sink your teeth into. The exhibit was interesting and provocative. The displays were set-up well and helpful information was easily accessible. The venue was not too busy and staff were helpful. When it comes time for the giftshop you best hope your budget is hundreds of dollars because art isn't cheap.

What a wonderful, beautiful place. Admission is free! There is a lovely gift shop where things are reasonably priced. I strongly recommend a trip. It only takes about 45 minutes to do the entire gallery

Wonderful gallery! Went with my husband and we both enjoyed the experience! It's a great spot if you like ceramics, but it also has exhibits that anyone might find interesting. The stained glass exhibit was beautiful! The 21 pillows exhibit was very thought provoking!

The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery is a beautiful place to explore various clay and Glass artworks from various parts of Canada. Some of the works in the display are just stunning! I personally liked the rotating glass structure that is kept at the entrance and one of the glass mazes kept preserved next to it. Definitely worth the visit when your friends and family & a must see place for all in the KWC area

Visited this place on a weekday afternoon and it was pretty empty. There is no entry fee for this place. They have many exhibits made of glass and ceramics and even some of them were made by students of the summer camp. Found this interesting painting of Whistler's mother and the face had some object on it just like the Bean movie. Apart from this they do have some items and souvenir for sale near the entrance.

A great place to visit if you come to Waterloo (especially uptown). It’s a very chill and quaint atmosphere in the gallery and has some very great art installations. I would couple your visit with a walk through Waterloo park (which is right outside) since the gallery is on the smaller side and won’t take up a lot of your day !

Always interesting work on display (3D printed ceramics on this visit). Freida at the front desk is always helpful and welcoming.

Great place! The clay classes are like yoga for the brain. I definitely recommend booking a class for making your own sculpture with a date, friends, or with the fam. Plus a great staff!

After having been going to the gift shop for years, I finally toured the gallery when we visited for a work team building event. Loved every minute of it. Such amazing work in the galley, would love to take something home! Then we did a little clay hand building together at that was a load of fun. I would absolutely book a night there with our team again!

Amazing experience! It was free to walk in and just all of the art available to view and buy was so beautiful and I would reccomend visiting here at least once just to see what local artists can make. I've seen sculptures that we're uncanny and even hyper realistic to items they would imitate. There was this one piece that was a bag and I thought it was real for 15 minutes before reading the plaque explaining it was a sculpture replicating a real bag. 10/10 would reccomend and its free!

Great experience, went with my child's school field trip. The staff were knowledgeable about the different materials and methods used. Created a clay pinch pot, painted it, and now we can check back in a few weeks once they've fired it in the kiln. Many different types of art on display. Pieces that vary in size from a couple inches square, right up to human sized pieces. They have many different vases, teapots, and other jar like items. Tiles, plates, serving platters, abstract art, and more!

It might not have the most massive collection, but it is still quite nice to go through and admire the art pieces on display.

phenomenal place. you can come here to view exhibits, buy handmade pieces, or even play with clay and create your own pieces to keep! definitely a little gem that you must visit if you’re in the area. lots of the work is by local artists. i’ve even purchased some items for christmas and other occasions here! unique and gorgeous work.

A trip to the gallery with the intention to purchase a piece of art for our home was such a positive experience thanks to Freida and her incredible spirit! She was such a gracious and friendly guide and her sense of humour was so refreshing. What a lovely visit!

This is a really unique and interesting place. Its free, I put money in the donation box anyway. There was a variety of things made with glass from vases, jewelry, lighting, sculptures and aboriginal creations too. It's 1-2 hours depending on how close you want.to check things out. Also found out they have a variety of creative programs you can check out on their website. Cool place.

Great gallery. So many beautiful pieces of artwork to admire, and purchase at the gift shop. The Play with Clay workshop is a great opportunity to put your own creativity to the test! Have so far attended two sessions, I'm sure I will take part in more in the future! A great way to spend an afternoon with some friends!

Was very beautiful and enjoyed seeing the stained glass. There's a lot of history to learn and also you can buy something like glass figurines and clay pots to bring home. Very nice place and would go there again! Enjoy! :)

What a gem! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. At no charge, I wandered for about an hour. The pieces are unique and from local artists. The gift shop has lovely pieces, all my local artists.

  • 5/5 Catherine D. 5 years ago on Google
Absolutely stunning little gallery, the exhibits seem to fluctuate often. I went with my family during the summer and admission was free, and the place was basically empty. There are no ropes or glass blocking from anything on display, so you can get right up close to see all the pieces—definitely worth a stop! Don’t forget to check out the gift shop even if you don’t plan on buying, the pieces in there are just as beautiful too.

Local gem in the heart of Kitchener/ Waterloo. Very well maintained place with friendly staff.

I love the gallery. Exhibits change regularly and address always interesting. Entrance fee by donation makes it affordable for everyone. It's a great introduction to galleries for young kids as it's not huge and very visually engaging (though they can't run around on their own).

👍👍 Very well maintained park, with clean restrooms. There is a play area for kids. Parking and entrance are free. The beach is small but, there are a few piers for fishing. We took our own kayak and kayaked during the sunset. It was a pleasant experience. Highly recommed to visit this park.
