I ordered my first dozen donuts on Wednesday afternoon for 2:30 pickup. When I opened the box up, the donuts were disappointingly cold to touch. I was expecting for them to be hot/warm (especially with the timed pickup and expensive pricing for donuts). I like how there are different flavours every week. The donuts were also quite heavy/dense though had a nice chewy texture to it. I would have preferred them to be lighter and fluffier yet still chewy. I’d recommend 1-2 donuts max per person. The frosting/candy made it seem like these donuts were made either very early in the morning and then put in the fridge, or made overnight. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here anytime soon.

First the bad - came in with the husband on a stormy Sunday afternoon for brunch. Table of 3 and then table of 6 who came after us got served first. After an hour of waiting we finally asked about our food. Now the good - owner was very honest and told us that they had misplaced our order and hence the delay. They also went the extra mile and comped our meal which was very nice of them. Now the extra good - food is really good so we will be back. Thank you for the bad experience turned good. Lots of other businesses could take a page out of your playbook.

We first tried mochi doughnuts in Hawaii and missed them so much that we actively looked for a shop that makes them here. We were so excited to find Isabella's Mochi Doughnut shop but sadly we did not enjoy the taste of the doughnuts here. The doughnuts are very dense/heavy making it hard to enjoy more than 1 or 2. They are also quite sweet due to the thick layer of icing. We did not enjoy them at all and it is quite disappointing because the service was great, and despite the line up, we got the doughnuts pretty quickly. So in that regard the store is managed well. They also have a point system to encourage customers to return. However, we have since found a place that makes mochi doughnuts almost identical to how we remember them from Hawaii: La Mochi Doughnuts (Midland and Finch).

I have never tried mochi donuts before coming across this place. Fell in love and started buying boxes every other week to share and try different flavours with friends. Black sesame is great! wish it would come around more often! Ones with a filling i like the best overall (churro flavour was just that, churros!), savoury flavours are fun options too. Always fresh, chewy, not extremely sweet, always exciting weekly flavour options. A must try!

I had been wanting to come here for what seems like forever and I’m glad I did! The Mochi donuts are soft but dense and not sickeningly sweet. They have interesting unique flavours that rotate each week. I got a few such as ube, red velvet, chocolate banana, funfetti and a fruity raspberry lemon flavour. They were all quite good. They make a great snack due to how dense they are as I find they are more filling than a usual donut. The staff was also incredibly friendly, answered all my questions and signed me up to collect points. Definitely would recommend coming to try some!

Isabella's is where you want to go if you want something different. Known for their mochi donuts, they have a rotating menu that will please everyone's taste buds! We went during a time where there was an ube one, and I was unbelievably good. Stay tuned on their socials to see what the new flavours of the week are, and make sure to add this to your donut lists!

Call ahead for reservations if you can as this place fills up quickly. Pros: great mochi pancakes, karage, and mochi donuts, lovely owner and relaxed atmosphere. Cons: food took more than 50 min to arrive after ordering. We didn’t mind as we weren’t in a rush! Also worth the wait :) but if you r coming dor lunch and on the clock, it might be different. Overall: great food, close to the beaches, lovely feel to the place, would come back for more mochi donuts!!!

Just went for brunch today. Smaller and quaint sized resto. We were 8ppl total, lucked out and managed to get seated right away. There were too many things we wanted so it took us a while to get settled and ordered. Our table ordered: mochi pancakes with karaage, matcha pancakes, karaage sandwich, onigiri wafu set, korokke, 2 types of tea and a Vietnamese style iced coffee. EVERYTHING WAS AWESOME!!! Staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating. We had a 6 year old with us and they're great with kids. There is a window full of activities the kids can take to the table. Coffee was delicious and strong. Our friends helped themselves to several cups. The iced Vietnamese coffee was also great tasting, not too bitter and not overly sweet. Tea was served in different super cute teapots and cups. All our food was delicious. Mochi pancakes were different than what you're used to. Texture is nice and chewy and they're very thick. They don't sit heavy in your belly either. Matcha pancakes had a great light matcha flavour. They weren't overly sweet and just right. Karaage is my fave served with their mayo and dipping sauce (will be back for more). Onigiri was a little too thick and too big for me but I still enjoyed the taste. We all ordered lunch to take home as well as items from their baked goods section . We should have ordered more as we were all craving it later. Prices are about $15 per brunch plate and $8 for the kids. This is a great east east end spot that I hope sticks around for a long time. We will be back to eat from their lunch menu.

Cute little donut store for a nice treat. They’re heavy and chewy, but I like that they aren’t too sweet. Got donuts with the following flavours: Strawberry Pocky - has an artificial flavour just like pocky London Fog - tastes exactly like London fog Vietnamese coffee - tastes exactly like it should! Passion fruit - light subtle flavour Powdered sugar Banana split - not my favourite; it is too heavy.

I’ve been seeing a lot of their mochi donuts around, so of course I had to grab some to try myself! They have different flavors every week, so be sure to check their IG for the menu. As of Covid, they currently don’t have dine in, but they also offer brunch as well. We preordered the donuts online so that we could get them guaranteed, but their donuts are made fresh everyday. We also ordered their onigiris on the go too. For the onigiri, I could taste how fresh it was in comparison to the frozen ones in the supermarket. We ordered the sesame onigiri, and I can say that it was packed with flavor; really enjoyed it. As for their donuts, they were very soft and have the chewy mocha texture. But what i really liked was that they aren’t sweet at all, and has a good balance of taste and sweetness. Will definitely be ordering more for the future, and I hope I can dine in for brunch one day too. IG: Ayenomz

I was walking by on Queen St and was curious to try one of their Mochi Donut! This matcha flavored one was waiting for me and did not disappoint. Insider tip: stop by early in the day to get the most variety and freshest products!

It’s been a while. But i’ve always loved visiting. This round of flavors weren’t the best Ive had. But I absolutely loved the panko cheese bun!

Fun place, sweet service (pretty sure the girl behind the counter was a real life anime, complete with little giggles, squinty smiles and a mini wave) They are only doing take out drinks and mochi donuts at the moment. Vietnamese ice coffee is really good! The best donuts were the coffee and Earl Grey. The more fruity flavours were a bit too sweet, and a bit synthetic tasting. Looking forward to trying their food when they re-open for lunch and dine-in.

Their donuts are to die for! My picky boys are obsessed with them. Always fresh. It’s always worth our 3 hours drive just to satify cravings. One must understand the difference between mochi donuts to the regular donuts. And this is the best of it’s kind.

The BEST donuts! So good we had them for our wedding cake. Great communication from Cecilia throughout the whole order, thank you again! We were able to get the flavours we wanted: Matcha Crunch, HK Milk Tea, and Strawberry Pocky.

Good mochi donuts. I mean, I find the same issue with mochi donuts everywhere that the base donut is always the same, it's just icing that changes, which sort of gives a feeling of... same same. But, like I said, that seems to be the case with ALL mochi donuts I've had anywhere so Isabelle's does them just as well as elsewhere in the city. The flavours were okay. Maple, cinnamon, s'mores, earl grey, raspberry... Nothing to write home about, but they change every week so maybe a different week would be more to my taste. It just seems they're trying hard to appeal to the Tim Hortons-loving white people who live in the Beaches with those flavours. If that is your taste, seriously you'll love these donuts! The lavender lemon was all lemon, which I love btw, but it promised lavender as well. And they were sold out of original... How? That was too bad cos I think unless the icing is really something special, it really just distracts from the yummy donut rather than complimenting it. I would have liked to enjoy one just on its own. I will try again another week and maybe they'll have new flavours! The only downside was the iced Vietnamese coffee. It was really bitter/sour, even after trying to mix up the condensed milk (which is pretty impossible with the tiny, flimsy straw). Next time I'm going to just stick to the donuts!

This place combines two of my favorite desserts...donut + mochi = euphoria. Stop reading reviews already and try this place.

Amazing place for snacks and donuts, their curry bun is one of my favourite food items in the city. Before the pandemic, when they were a full service restaurant, they were my #1 ranked brunch spot. Unfortunately just the donuts and snacks now, but still great and well worth the 5 stars!

Smaller location than the downtown, but closer to home. Donuts are delicious as always. Don't mind the half missing donut, it never made it to the car 🙃

Love Isabella’s! I loved coming here for breakfast or lunch previously too, but their donuts and coffees are wonderful. The owner and staff have been nothing short of amazing whenever I’ve gone to Isabella’s. Everyone is super kind and loves to talk about Japan! Be understanding that this is a small business and if they run out of product before closing time, it is because they make everything fresh.

I Highly Recommend!!! Isabella's Boutique Restaurant lived up to the hype. It is my daughter's birthday so we thought it would be great to try Isabella's for brunch as it was voted one of the top 10 brunches in the city. From the beginning we weren't disappointed. The interior is quite nice with Japanese adornments such as lanterns and origami. We ordered the following: - Karaage chicken sandwich - Chocolate banana mochi mochi pancakes - 2 rolled Tamagoyaki omellettes (1 avocado and 1 bacon) - 1 coffee - 1 pot of hot chocolate (easily served 3 but probably could serve 4) The Karaage was huge! The chicken was juicy and delicious. It was a little difficult to eat as a sandwich but, it was absolutely delicious My daughter loved her pancakes. I tried a bite and they were very well prepared! The chocolate sauce was very nice and not Nutella or cheaply made in any way. The omellettes were phenomenal! The egg was firm enough without being browned on the outside. The filling was plentiful enough to please and I was very happy not to have to bite into crunchy underdone onions. They were melt in your mouth. The salad that accompanies the dish was very fresh and a Japanese delight. I just love the dressing. Also on the side was a roll that was warm and fresh with a beautiful texture, butter and a jam that was fruity and not overwhelmed by sugar. The coffee was quite good and the hot chocolate was high quality. Think of it as liquid chocolate! You can't say that about a powdered mix. It was a little potent for our tastes but, we added a little cream and it was on point! The presentation was so amazing! A silver tray accommodated dishes that transported us to Japan. The service? Done with a smile. Very friendly and attentive. The owners put a great deal of time and care into EVERYTHING they do here. It shows. We will be back very soon!!!

It's okay. Unique rotating flavour but not as intense as I thought. It's a tougher texture, not chewy as expected for mochi. It's more donut than mochi but still delicious. Microwave 8 seconds for next day donuts

The most delicious, fresh, authentic mochi donuts. There is simply no words to describe the feeling of getting a box of 6 and dreaming of ways to finish them all to get another one.

Love the texture and taste of the week's special. The outside layer is crispy and soft and slightly chewy inside. Enjoy eating it piece by piece. Coffee and Earl Grey are my favs😋. Recommend!

Can't say enough good things about this shop and the people that run it! My husband and I have been fans of their mochi donuts for years and had to have them for our wedding reception. Cecilia was such a pleasure to coordinate with and this was such a great addition to our cake table. I'd say we turned many of our guests into mochi donuts lovers! 100% recommend! Also, don't sleep on their iced yuzu tea - so good!

Really cute shop. I loved the vibes and the worker so very lovely. I tried the match flavour donut and I felt like it was too oily, it was a weird texture. The flavour was very nice. I also tried a snack that was similar to a pizza pocket and it was very yummy, slightly over priced but worth a try.

These are a favourite of my partner and I, there’s interesting flavours each week and they are without fail delicious every time. The service is also super friendly and it’s easy to tell they put a lot of care into what they do. Highly recommend you try out a mochi donut from here.
